i've been here more times than i can count. anytime i feel like i need soup in my system, this is the spot. their wonton soup and brisket soup are my go-tos, and they never miss. it's one of those meals that's so comforting it lowkey makes you emotional like, i'm not even kidding, i've had moments where a tear of joy almost came out after the first few bites. if you're from seattle and haven't tried this place yet, you really should. it's got that homey, no frills feel, and i'm pretty sure it's run by an older couple, which just makes it even better. you can taste the care in the food. simple, comforting, and always hits exactly when you need it.

I had been wanting to try this spot for a very long time and it finally worked out as I went there after a Mariners game. It was a cold Mariners game and we were craving something warm and this was the perfect choice. We were seated immediately and before we could even say a word they brought us piping hot cups of tea that were steaming and that instantly warmed us up. For my order I got the brisket and wonton noodle soup which came with three large wontons that had both pork and shrimp. The broth was great and the dipping sauce, that you create yourself, paired perfectly with the noodle dish as it provided spiciness and acidity. I would definitely return to try the congee, what I ordered, or another noodle soup.

Ate lunch at Mike's Noodle House in the International District and tried the sui kaw soup along with the beef brisket noodle soup. The sui kaw--dumplings filled with shrimp--were generously sized and packed with flavor. This spot specializes in a variety of noodle soups, including wonton, beef brisket, fish ball, and squid ball, and they also offer side dishes and congee. The beef brisket was tender, and the broth was rich and full of depth. Overall, a satisfying meal with simple, comforting flavors. Just a heads-up: the restaurant is cash‑only. The service is pretty quick as well.

Hearty meal in a cozy small restaurant! There were maybe 10 tables max but it was empty when we went on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. The food came out hot and was delicious. The wonton and dumpling noodle soup was great, highly recommend that to anyone who comes here. we also had their Chinese new year special and it was good with the dipping sauce, not enough to where I'll get it again though. I would've liked the see the price on it too.. they mentioned that we should try it so we did and it turns out the dish was $20 lol maybe we should've asked but that probably would've seemed frugal

Mike is hole in the wall restaurant with very traditional way of wonton noodles soup. The reason I said that is the way they prepare the broth of the soup. It is just like the Hong Kong people prepare it. We were here in the cold day which make the visit much appreciated. A hot bowl of soup noodle hot my spot. We got the traditional wonton noodles soup. The soup base is excellent. For Hong Kong style, the noodles are very thin. We also got a pig organ congee. This also very cold weather food. Food definitely 5 stars. Definitely revisiting.

Service was fast, and the food came out quickly. The inside has several tables but feels a bit cramped. We ordered the rock cod noodle, beef brisket noodle, wonton soup, and pork liver and kidney. The liver and kidney were cooked perfectly -- chewy and soft, not tough or dry. The thin, chewy noodles paired so well with the rich brisket sauce, and the shrimp-filled wontons were delicious. The beef brisket noodle was definitely my favorite!

The wonton noodle soup here was pretty good. It had a flavorful, hearty broth and the wontons were delicious. We tried their new special fish balls which were pretty good but not worth 18 dollars imo. Service was quick and friendly! Only thing is, we ordered small wonton noodles soups, but they charged for a large. We don't know if they had brought us a large noodle soup or just overcharged us.

Quaint interior and speedy service! I got the wonton and suikau noodle soup. Both were really delicious with whole shrimp in the fillings, but I slightly preferred the wonton. The noodles were thinner than I'm used to but they were cooked well and absorbed the broth flavor. The broth itself was pretty mild and I think it could have used more flavor. I tried a bite of my friend's beef brisket and it was immaculate. Super tender and flavorful. Next time I have to get the wonton and beef brisket noodle soup!!

Very salty, not good food. I cannot finish the noodles cuz it is too salty!
    Maitreya M.

Would not recommend this place, the beef noodle soup sucks, the congee is better but not worth the price. Everything is too salty + full of mgs. First time & will never come back!

Wonton noodle with Chinese Beef Stew. The stew had beef tendons which is very traditional.

If you're looking for some authentic Chinese wonton noodles or Congee come to Mike's Noodle House in Chinatown Seattle. The wonton was tasty blend of pork and shrimp and the noodles were the traditional thin egg noodles. The Chinese Brisket Beef Stew was how I remember my Mom made her's. It's only about 2 blocks from the Chinatown light rail so it's easy to get to.

Taste: 5 Creativity/Authenticity: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Service: 5 Bang for your buck: 5 How I haven't tried this place earlier beats me but this is one of my new go to spots when I'm in Seattle!! When it's cold and raining and you're craving some hot soup look no further!! Everything you need is right here!! Flavorful, texture overload and hits every note on those cold Seattle day and nights!! My favorite is the beef brisket noodle soup but the porridge is also very good. Service here is fast and your food is out very quick. It's cash only but def worth it! Came here back to back and will return when I'm in town! Thanks for the food delicious

This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles. My friend really enjoyed it and actually finished the whole thing, which is saying something given that she doesn't usually eat that much. There are so many other items on the menu that I'm eager to try, so I will definitely be back.

The wife scoffed at the idea that there's such a thing as too much chili oil and ate some of his soup. This was after she dug into her hot pot. I did get a chance to sample the delicate pork pieces and the flavorful rice. The slightly crispy rice at the bottom of the pot were so delicious. I had the Singapore style fried noodles. Also, when did we start calling it, "The International District". If we had Mexican, Italian and other ethnic restaurants in the neighborhood, I'd get on board, but not only do San Francisco, New York and L. A. have the biggest Chinatowns, cities also have Barrio's and Little Italy's, so clearly cultures are ok with us specifying. A friend brought up Scallion Beef, so I did a search, Scallion Beef is sometimes called Ginger Beef, so H Bistro came up in my results. Initially, I wondered if H Bistro was Hong Kong Bistro and they rebranded, but HKB is still in business and around the corner and not very good mind you. Reviews for H Bistro are strong and the photo's convinced me that this should be a better than average meal. People talked about the lunch special and since I had a meeting downtown in the afternoon, I thought I could pop in here before my meeting. Once there I was sat. I didn't see lunch on the menu, so I asked and was told, lunch was no longer offered. Again, with no website, I had to rely on Yelp so despite reviews from 2024 talking about lunch, it's not longer offered. I got the Ginger Beef and asked if they did soup by the cup and was also told no. That is why Chinese Lunch is so popular, you typically get soup, rice, entrée and even an appetizer. That is a full meal. I just had my entrée and rice. I asked for chili oil and was brought a very small portion, It had good flavor, but no heat. The entree was good, but without soup and appetizer it just wasn't well rounded. Also, the food would have benefited from being served on a hot iron plate. Not only does it add sear, but it keeps the dish hot. Post meal, I had hoped for a cookie and despite being a block from the fortune cookie factory, no cookie was served. Would I return, sure, with a large group, that would be the only way to truly experience the menu. With 2 people I could have added soup and appetizer as the entrée is also large enough for 2. That said, this was one the cleaner places in Chinatown. That is not to say Chinatown is dirty, but many restaurants need paint, have old furniture or have water stains. This place was fairly nice inside and could be classy with a few more bucks invested. This place really shot itself in the foot by discontinuing lunch, despite being decent, there was just too much disappointment today.

We showed up with half our party since the rest of our group had a hard time looking for parking, but they sat us right away and didn't give us a hard time at all. The decor is cute - darker lighting with spotlight on their cultural elements. Not gonna lie, when a restaurant over emphasizes its Asian decor, usually I have pretty low expectations for the food since it will likely be Americanized. This place proved me wrong! Their menu was a mix of Cantonese dishes, Taiwanese elements, Shanghainese dumplings and noodles, and Szechuan mala flavors. We probably over ordered but seriously enjoyed all the dishes. From most to least favorite: - Ginger & Scallion Fish Fillets: Sooooo fragrant and honey. LOVE! - Typhoon Shelter Beef Short Ribs: The fried garlic seasoning is fantastic, usually seen with crab or seafood but with short ribs it was excellent and super flavorful too - Black Truffle Wagyu Fried Rice: A pretty big portion for the price! The aroma of the truffle was fantastic but not overpowering - Half Hong Kong Style Honey Roast Duck: Hard to find good roast duck in the US so was happy to see it in the menu, skin was crispy and flavorful and the sauce was authentic as well. A tad too salty if I were to be nitpicky which is why it's not higher on the list - Traditional Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings: Good but not standout, not the star of the show compared to places that specialize in dumpings - Stir-Fry Green Beans: A little bland, can skip The Hong Kong Style iced lemon tea is just okay, but it's hard finding one truly authentic around here. Still enjoyed it! For the price point, ambiance, and quality of food, I was blown away and highly recommend!
