Every time I go to Pink Bee I get one of their sandwiches. Every time I think "maybe I should get something else," and then, inevitably, I do not. The sandwiches are just so good...yes, I have confidence the rest of the menu is as well, but I can't help myself. Big, flavorful, packed sandwiches. I want one just thinking about them. Be aware they can get messy, but whoever thought 'what if we put curry in a sandwich' was a genius. They're all great, though. Another banger in Ballard, Pink Bee is low key one of the better Thai establishments I've had in Seattle. A small, cutesy establishment with plenty of pink decor, it is a quintessential neighborhood spot where both the food and customer service shine bright. The ordering process starts with a LCD screen in which folks can place their orders without the needles of consulting with anyone. Once an order is placed, find a seat, grab your own utensils, and serve your own drinks. The pink cups are a nice touch, as is the floral decor, the clean bathrooms, and the casual atmosphere. Seating is limited and there are also outdoor seating options as well. My group and I ordered chicken wings, pad see you, garlic noodles, green curry with purple multi grain rice, gyoza, a basil pork belly, and a bamee moo toon. I would have ordered sandwiches since that's part of their specialty but we needed dishes that were shareable and feastworthy. The green curry was rich and fragrant, which paired perfectly with the multigrain rice. There was an addictive quality about the garlic noodles, and the pork belly was as succulent as it was flavorful. The pad see you was excellent as expected, and the ba mee toon was the favorite of the table. Everything was roughly $90 before tip, and service was excellent the whole time. I appreciate the fact that they served everything on local dishware and the natural lighting from the windows made the food look incredible. Since there wasn't any dish was executed poorly, I was more than satisfied with my experience along with my dining mates. Seeing as I'm in Seattle every year, this will be another place that I will add to my existing rotation. Highly recommended. read more

After a long day of unintentional fasting, Pink Bee Thai absolutely hit the spot. We ordered the pineapple fried rice at spice level 4 and the green curry at level 3--both were amazing. My husband and I love spicy food, and the level 4 was just a bit above what we can comfortably enjoy, but still incredibly flavorful and worth it. The green curry had the perfect amount of heat and was rich and delicious. Overall, a super satisfying meal, and we'll definitely be coming back! I've heard great things about Pink Bee, so I gave it a shot. We walked inside. I noticed all the windows gave the place a bright atmosphere, and the tables had cute little vases with flowers. There is a Kiosk to order from, so that's what we did. Sat ourselves down. The worker was friendly and asked what kind of silverware we preferred (chopsticks vs forks). The Food: Chicken Pad Thai (medium spice level)- The portion was bigger than other places, which is a big plus. The flavors were strong and delicious! Only complaints are: I really didn't taste much spice, and it was a bit too sweet. Nonetheless, I would definitely come back for this. Pad Kee Mao (high spice level)- The flavors were nice, and vegetables seemed fresh with that crunch that means it's perfectly cooked. However, again, this really wasn't that spicy. The noodles were a bit too soft and broken apart, and it needed more of that basil that's usually in this dish. There is a shelf along a wall with condiments that you can use, so thankfully we were able to add the spice needed to make our dishes really shine. I'd like to try more dishes- there were some things on the menu that looked unique. For example, I saw that there are sandwiches with fillings such as panang curry- whaaat?! Sounds good. read more

Wow!! We've walked past this place many times and we finally stopped by for lunch. From the looks it's very unassuming, the food was the real show stopper. Very friendly service, didn't have to ask for a thing as it was brought to us before we could even ask. We tried the fresh shrimp spring rolls which were the best I have ever had. Delicious fresh herbs and served with peanut sauce and an amazing green Thai chili sauce. The mango juice was dressed up nicely. We ordered the yellow curry sandwich and the chicken satay sandwich. Both sandwiches packed a lot of flavor but our favorite was the yellow curry. It had a nice coconut sweetness to it that balanced so well with the fresh veggies. The Pink Bee is as delightful as its name would suggest. A little Thai eatery in Ballard north of the main drag but worth the walk to get to. Put simply there is only one thing you should get here. If you're getting anything else you're wasting your time. The Braised pork, in any of its forms. My preference is served on a bed of red cargo rice with a side of crunchy picked mustard greens. It's so perfectly fatty, flavorful and juicy and pairs so perfectly with the rice and pickled veg. It's an amazing bowl of flavor I can't get enough of and isn't like anything offered at any other Thai place around. If I could give them an award for this dish I would. We have gotten take out from here twice this week, the food is delicious. Which I should have known earlier because they always have folks going in and out whenever I drive by. Our favorite things so far are the 1. basil duck, 2. Chicken Satay, soups (add chicken and veggies!), and the avocado cream cheese Rangoons. Takes 30 min on a quieter day and 50-60 min on busier. The banner out front it very pink per the name of the restaurant. I would think it was a dessert or bakery from afar, but in actuality, it's a Thai restaurant. Friend recommended this place because he wanted to try their sandwich that's being marketed as a Banh Mi.... Okay, so first of all, Banh Mi is a Vietnamese term, it's not Thai. I'm just going to make that clear for the uneducated folks. Anyways, their bread for the sandwich is more like a hoagie type of bread than the ones you would get on a Banh Mi, but it does have some pickled veggies. There were caramelized onions, lettuce, mustard greens in the braised pork sandwich that my friend got. According to him, it was more like a Cuban sandwich than a Banh Mi. I wasn't in the mood for a sandwich, but honestly, it looked pretty good. I wanted something more familiar. I usually get the Phad Thai, but was more in the mood for their Phad See Ew. It was fairly good. I went with their highest spice level and got it with chicken. The noodles were perfect and felt like it could've been house made. Not sure, but it was very good. I thought it was pretty oily though, but it might be because of the spice level I got. Overall, very tasty. Service was fine. You order and pay upfront and they'll bring water to your table if you're dining in. You pick up your silverware yourself and you bus your own table unless they see you with a clean plate, then they'll be happy to take that away from you. So it's kind of what you would expect. If I'm ever in Ballard again and in the mood for Thai, I'd be happy to come back for another meal. read more

I've been meaning to try Pink Bee for awhile and finally got a chance to try it, though it was takeout only. We tried the Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Crispy Garlic Chicken, and Thai Iced Tea. The Pad See Ew was my favorite out of the dishes and was super flavorful. The Pad Thai was below average for me and had a lot of liquid, which I didn't love. The chicken was also below average as it was not crispy, though again, I didn't get takeout so it's possible that it would be better eaten there. The Thai Iced Tea was above average though, so definitely recommend that! Overall, an okay experience - wont be my go to Thai take out, but I'll give it another shot in person too! read more

The foods are great! I really enjoyed my soup noodle. Tasted good. Not only that, it smelled good too! You can order either at counter or kiosk. You self serve waters and they will bring you foods. Ambiance is great too. They have a good number of tables (9-10 tables). At night, lighting is with strip lights and they have little flowers on each table. These make great ambience. I ordered takeout online - if you're doing pick up, make sure you're using their website for the best price! It was ready right on time. I ordered the garlic noodles and the kao soi. Both were absolutely delicious but they were served on beds of lettuce which was unusual. I'm curious to know if it's served like this when you're eating in as well. The garlic noodles had romaine or iceberg underneath and the kao soi had spinach. While I didn't want the lettuce with the garlic noodles, but the spinach was kind of a nice touch too have. The only thing I would caution for those who order spicy food is that the spice level seems to vary a little bit. For example, if I ordered three stars, one time it would be just a little spicy and the next week would be extremely spicy. Definitely use their pink bee website vs using third party to support this local gem of a Thai restaurant. I still think the braised pork dish is banging with the red cargo rice but I think close seconds would have to be the chicken laarb (it's on the sweeter side!) and the pumpkin curry. I am salivating as I type this. Not sure how people can give this place anything less than a 5 star because the food is absolutely divine and service is some of the nicest I've experienced. Beware, there is a kick and heat at level 2! Only reason why I'm taking away a star is because the portion of the curry is very small, not enough broth/liquid. Generous serving of jasmine rice . We're in town visiting a friend who recommended this restaurant. We are always up for Thai and we weren't disappointed. I know it's not an adventurous option, but the pad Thai was definitely my favorite dish, followed closely by the yellow curry. The yellow curry had really nuanced flavors and nothing was over spiced. That's not to say that the spice level wasn't considerable, but flavors weren't overpowered by the heat. I'd order again tomorrow and try more items, in fact, we may :) read more
