A cute spot for Thai food tucked into the heart of Ballard. The whole space had bright, airy cafe vibes when we stopped in for a late lunch. The staff was super sweet and helpful, and the service was really quick. It's a casual spot where you order at a counter and seat yourself -- the space wasn't too busy when we stopped in. The food here was BOMB, probably some of my favorite Thai spots in Ballard, maybe even Seattle as a whole -- they make a solid Pad Thai and some delicious Panang curry (special shoutout to the wild rice)! I've been wanting to try this place because it's convenient and has such a high yelp score, but the price point is a little high compared to the many other similar spots in the neighborhood. I was short on time and they were a couple of blocks closer than crackle mi so today was the day! I ordered the satay tofu sandwich with peanut sauce. The photo showed a dutch crunch roll, which is rare in Seattle, but I was excited to see that unique feature and felt like it justified the higher price point. The sandwich I got was so odd and unappetizing though! The only real upside was that it had several fat slices of tofu. But the tofu was hot and very juicy so it instantly cooked all of the vegetables (lettuce, cucumber, etc) on the sandwich. I didn't notice anything that seemed like peanut sauce (no biggie to be honest) and the roll seemed like a run of the mill soft outdoor roll you could get at safeway. Not even a crunchy baguette. The soft roll and the cooked salad just kinda ruined the whole effect for me. I'll probably try their noodles some other time to see if that is more of a highlight. read more

Surprisingly authentic, tasty Thai food with vegan options. We stopped in for dinner one evening, seeing as they could do vegan versions of many dishes. Turns out none of their curries can be vegan (fish sauce already cooked into their curry pastes). But they could do various other things vegan. We ended up getting the below, all at 4/5 spiciness: -Veggie spring rolls ($3.95 for 2; vegan) -- chunky spring rolls with plenty of crunchy veggies, served with a sweet plum sauce. Very solid and satisfying spring rolls. 4.5/5 -Larb with tofu ($9.95 plus tax; vegan) -- This ended up being mostly firm tofu cubes, with some raw cabbage, basil, red onion, cucumber, and cilantro. Nicely seasoned and spiced, especially at that 4/5 spice level. Good. 3.5/5 -Pad See Ew ($12.95 plus tax; made vegan by omitting the egg) -- Beautifully cooked wide rice noodles, with plenty of veggies, decadent tofu, and amply spicy garlic chili sauce. Lovely. 4/5 -Mixed veggie rice ($12.75 plus tax; vegan) -- savoury, slightly sweet garlic sauce coating a nice array of veggies and amped up nicely by the chilis. I tried Pink Bee after reading reviews from fellow Yelpers. As others have mentioned when you walk by the pink building you're not sure how good the food really is. I love Thai food and Pink Bee is within walking distance of my house. I ordered online the night before for pick-up. I got my favorite Pad See Ew and choose beef, the Veggie spring rolls and the Pork Gyoza. I got there later than my original pick-up time, but I was surprised the food was still hot and everything tasted so good. I can't eat spicy and selected spice level 2 for my Pad See Ew and it was kinda hot at first, but I think my taste buds adjusted to the heat (yeah, I'm a wimp!) The beef was tender, the Chinese broccoli was fresh and sliced thin, and the wide noodles tossed in a sweet sauce topped with the spicy pepper bits added a lot of flavor. They also give you a lot of noodles in the plastic take away container. The veggie spring rolls dipped in the sweet chili sauce was so good. I'm glad they only gave you two because I could have eaten more! Hence, the order of the pork gyoza! I poured the vinegar soy sauce over the steamed gyoza and quickly devoured two of them. The pork filling flavors were good, not overwhelming and combined with the sauce easily made it a favorite of mine. You can't judge a book by its cover and this is true of Pink Bee. **vegetarian review** I have been meaning to try pink bee for a while and I finally did! I got the garlic noodles with tofu, vegan sauce and eggs. And I also got the veggie spring rolls. The spring rolls were super crunchy which is great! I hate it when they get soggy and that was not at all the case here. The rolls tasted good as well I do wish they were slightly less oily though. The garlic noodles is sooo good. I got spice level 4 and it is definitely Thai spice level which I love. The fried egg was kinda crispy too which added a nice texture to noodles with lettuce. The portion size was generous- I couldn't finish the noodles entirely maybe because I also had spring rolls On the whole this is really good food but ends on a heavy note (or did I overeat? ) Definitely recommend this place! read more

I'm so glad I found this place during CoVid times. We've been cooking home a lot but once in a while, you just want to get some take out. We found this place and it is our go-to Thai place. Every single item on the menu has been finger licking delicious. My all time favorite is their Braised Pork entree - that same pork could be served over rice or with noodles. Regardless of the way you choose to have it, it is the bomb. The flavors are soooooo good and the meat is so tender. Our other favorites include their Beef Panang Curry - yummmmmy! Like I said, I've tried just about everything - Chicken Pad Thai, Green Chicken Curry, Yellow Chicken Curry, their special Basil Beef, Pad See Ew, Crab wanton (with avocado filling - so creamy!)....everything is delicious. If it's your first time though, I say with anything with the Braised pork. I'd recommend their Thai Ice Team too!! We always enjoy dining at pink bee. The staff is super friendly and very accomodating. They modernized their service a bit so now they have a self order tablet in addition to a counter where you can place your orders. The food is some of the best thai that I've had in the area and always comes out promptly after ordering. I usually go with a phad kee Mao and the Kaoi soy, which is a delicious traditional Northern thai style curry and noodle dish. I have only seen this dish at maybe one or two other restaurants, it is definitely one of their specialties! The braised pork is phenomenal as well, always juicy, tender and flavorful, a little salty as well so if that's not your thing then maybe go for the chicken or beef. The panang curry sandwich and ban moon too noodles is what we tried today and we loved it. The curry was exploding with flavors of lemongrass, galangal, and basil! The beef was very tender and the bread was warm and toasted to a slight crunch and also held up nicely, soaking up the flavorful curry without falling apart. The noodles were loaded with chunks of the braised pork and came with a side of their new house made sauce that tasted of fish sauce, basil and some citrus and chili peppers. It was a 3* on the spice meter, just enought to add a kick and not overwhelm you. I usually go for the max but as we were sharing the dishes, we toned it down a bit. We usually get the traditional thai iced tea but today opted for the vegan version which substitutes the cream for coconut cream and it was just as good if not better. It is on the sweet side so it's more of a treat but still quite refreshing and rich. The menu here is a little limited compared to bigger restaurants like Bai tong, but what they have on it they make exceptionally well IMO. I can't recommend this place enough, they are great all around and you won't find too many other restaurants around here that fit the criteria. read more

Thanks to Yelp, a fellow Elite and I found Pink Bee while visiting Ballard. Little did I know that this was a family owned business with two Thai sisters, one named Pink and the other Bee; hence the name. It is also spectacular when customer service AND food both manage to stand out. David at the register was extremely welcoming and friendly with an immediate smile. He had such an infectious vibe of positivity to him and mentioned that his brother was married to one of the sisters. Their menu had so many delicious looking options and he was sure to help us narrow it down. We began with the Avocado Crab Rangoon which was fried to golden perfection and actually had REAL Philadelphia cream cheese AND crab (not imitation) stuffing inside. Next we shared the Garlic Noodles with tofu which were seasoned with plenty of flavors (cilantro, pepper, green onions, and of course garlic), without being too overwhelming. Not to mention, the thick rice noodles were cooked just right and semi-al dente. Finally, we shared the Panang curry sandwich with beef. I highly recommend this sandwich, since I had never had anything like it before! The bread that it was served on, soaked up the delicious curry, while the vegetables added a nice crunch. The beef was so tender and fell apart in your mouth without being tough or stringy. Paseo and Un Bien have a run for their money! Given that the sandwich was this good, I will be sure to also try the Panang curry on its own. David said that when we come back we must try their Pad Thai, which is one of a kind. Noted! This is a really delicious Thai place, with a unique twist of featuring some really tasty curry sandwiches as well. They are a fun alternative if you aren't feeling more traditional Thai. The service here is always really good-- food comes out quickly and sometimes they've added little bonus treats to my order. My husband's been coming here since he first moved into the condo next door and loves how convenient it is to just walk over and pick up food. When I first tried it, to be very honest I find most of their dishes super salty unfortunately. I absolutely love their Avocado Crab Rangoons. They are stuffed to the filling, creamy, and with the sweet chili sauce, it's quite the addiction. Their pad thai, pad se ew, pad kee mao are usually the "too salty" verdicts. Anywhere I go for Thai, I generally order 3 star spice. I love pad se ew and it has to be really difficult to get it wrong, however don't get me wrong- the FLAVORS of all these dishes are delicious! Just the salt is what gets me. However, I was craving mango sticky rice real hard and so I called to ask if they have it and they do! The phone calls always seem to take a while to pick up and found out they have really easy online ordering and ever since it's been a breeze. I love love love the mango sticky rice except how hot they serve it so I chill it in the fridge for a good 30 minutes before eating. In the meantime, I figured out the trick to please my palate! I ordered their pad thai with 1* spice and ever since- I've been addicted to ordering it once a week nonetheless I refrain myself from ordering more than that! If you have sensitive taste buds like I do, I would recommend starting with 1* spice even if you can handle spicy and go from there or maybe ask for less salt/soy but I'm not sure if that would alter the taste! read more

Decided to finally give this place a try and it did not disappoint and is easily one of my new favorites here. We tried their well known braised pork in noodle soup and it was delightful. Sour, spicy, umami. Much like a boat noodle but on crack. Highly recommend! Another crowd favorite was the garlic noodle. We loved the large flat noodles stir fried a generous amount of garlic. Recommend to add a fried egg for extra yums (we did wish for the egg to be way crispier but I'm picking at straws here). We went here as a small group and each of us really enjoyed our meals. I ordered the Spicy Thai Basil dish and the flavor was really on point. I know Ballard has tons of Thai foods options but Pink Bee was definitely my #1 choice for lunch while working in Ballard. I always get the Pad Kee Mao and I felt like Pink Bee's was always delicious, full of flavor and spicy!! Most Thai places don't ever make the food spicy enough but I was so happy with my meals.
