Tonno sandwich big Jimmie stale and the bambino on the plate. My friend and I bought one of each and split them. It was a great idea.

I loved this place so much! The bread is the perfect thickness, soft and delicious. I got the bambino sandwich and the tuna sandwich big Jimmie style, which I highly recommend. Big Jimmie style adds tomato slices and the house made sauces to the sandwich. I cannot wait to go back.

Really solid Italian sandwich spot in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood. Yes they are expensive but the ingredients were french, the focaccia was perfectly baked (soft and crunchy), and the service was incredibly fast and efficient. There's a small outdoor patio area in the back for you to eat if you want to dine in. I'll definitely come back! The wait was not too long, came on a Saturday and got in line 10 min before opening and got my sandwich a few minutes after ordering.

Man, what an establishment. We stopped for lunch right at opening and while waiting in line someone brought out samples of bread which was cool. Every single person working today that we had interactions with seemed to be genuinely happy to be there. Loved the set up for entry and exit, no confusion as you're quickly served your sandwich. We chose to sit down at a table to stuff our face real quick and while doing so, a staff member came out to ask us how we are enjoying our meal and for some quick conversation. It was just such an enjoyable experience from start to finish. Loved that by the tables there are additional things like napkins, plates and bags so there's no need to back track to request additional items. The sandwichs were fantastic! We had the bambino and the bottega. The quality is evident and everything was top notch. Worth the hype for sure.

If you're craving an Italian sandwich or some prosciutto, this hit the spot. I'm not usually a fan of sandwiches or cold meats, but for some reason was craving an prosciutto sandwich. I didn't even like a particular popular spot in Italy, but I had to base the craving. Got the Bottega and it hit the spot! Just enough saltiness, the freshness from arugula, and the creaminess I wanted from the cheese. I want to try with the truffle gorgonzola next time but it was good without. There wa maybe 2 people in front of me when I went at noon, but after I ordered it had grown quite a bit. I was hesitant to come, worried about the wait, but it wasn't too bad!

There is a reason so many people are generally waiting in line to get into Fortuna Bottega. This place is the real deal! The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, making it a fantastic spot for family meals. Despite how busy it was, the staff members were incredibly friendly and handled the crowd with grace and efficiency. We ordered the Caprese and the Bambino sandwiches. Both were remarkably fresh and used high-quality ingredients that instantly reminded me of my travels to Italy. It is rare to find bread and flavors this authentic in Seattle. If you see a line, stay in it, the food is worth every second of the wait!

Place is great. Grab and go style with a perfect covered patio type thing to eat. I've been here twice now and both times had excellent sandwiches. The sandwiches are large so don't be too off put by the price. I took home part of the sandwich both times as leftovers. The staff is super friendly and parking in the area isn't too hard. It's just another great place in a growling list of Greenwood staples. Hours and days are a bit hard for those with traditional 9-5 but you should make time to get here sometime.

Took a Thursday off a few weeks ago one of goals of my friends and I was visiting Fortuna. We were actually first in line. Loved how while you're waiting they give you a sample of their bread hot and toasted. Menus are online also posted on the window and near where you order to make it easy to decide. We already knew we were going to try the popular, Bambino - Mortadella, Stracciatella Cheese, Olive Oil, Pistachio. We probably would've tried the Bottega but one of my friends medically can't handle spice on we went the Gran Sasso-Finnociona, Pecorino Romano, Artichoke, Pesto Fortuna, Arugula. There were three of us and we split the two sandwiches which was just right. There is an out door space to sit with plenty of of picnic tables that are and fully covered area to keep you dry. Napkins and self serve water along with plastic cutlery if needed are also available out there. Service was excellent from the one of the owner's mom handing out the samples, as soon as you entered the space. Also appreciate how they ask if it's ok to snap a pic of the people standing in line. Chef Kirin came out and asked how things were which was a nice touch. Our favorite if the two was the Gran Sasso. I like Finnociona we felt that sandwich had more flavor and texture. We loved the bread to ingredients ratio. The artichokes they use are so good and still firm not mushy which they can often be when marinated. I was at Makeda and Mingus ariund the corner and heard great things about the Caprese and Tonno so looking forward to checking off the rest of the menu one day. Space is small but love how all the ingredients are displayed and you don't have to go out the door you entered to get to the seating undercover. Definitely looking forward to returning

Hella long line for their grand opening (9/3/25)

I had been eyeing Fortuna Bottega as I frequent driving to/from via Greenwood Avenue N. It turned out their grand opening was the same day I landed at SeaTac from Maui (9/3/25). My stupid mistake was driving past (no line) to head home to drop off the luggage and unwind briefly. When I returned, it was fun times circling for street parking and standing in that long line. Quite the exterior and interior transformation. There's limited indoor counter seating, but there's also covered outdoor seating. On this day, it looked like takeout was the favored choice. I ended up buying one each, Bambino (mortadella) and Bottega (proscuitto). These were eaten for work lunches a day and two days after, respectively. They held up pretty well in the fridge. Great counter staff and the kitchen crew were slammed that day and coming up on a month later. The lines and menu items selling out, had the owners scale back their business hours. Pro tip: save up your dollars and show up before or close to opening. Love the similar shop in Pioneer Square, want to visit another shop up in Vancouver, BC. Fortuna Bottega is just Goldilocks just right and closer to home in Shoreline! Now if I could just strategize getting back in line.

Sandwiches about $18 average but decent portions. Tasty but bread was a bit too hard for me. line was not too bad- we waited about 5 minutes to order and service was fast - seems like they have the sandwiches partially prepped. Only 7 types of sandwiches-we would go back to try more.

Located between Phinney Ridge and Greenwood, FORTUNA is a neat little neighborhood sandwich shop serving Italian sandwiches. From the moment you walk in, the staff is very welcoming. The back of house was clearly comfortable with each other and asked around to give us their consensus opinion on the best sandwich to order when we asked for recommendations. The menu is small and the sandwiches are all served with the same bread. There really didn't seem like any wrong nor outstanding options. I ended up going for the caprese and my friend ordered the bottega sandwich. Without any hot components, the sandwiches are ready fairly quickly when there is no line. Mine was out within 15 seconds of paying. Inside the restaurant, seating is limited. A few high chairs good for individual seating but definitely not built for groups. Outside, there are a few larger tables with benches. For the Summer and early Fall, it is perfect. A nice place to people watch and enjoy the last of the sunny days in Seattle, but as we head into Winter and late Fall, I expect it to be slightly less comfortable. The sandwiches were very tasty. There is a clear focus on high quality ingredients, and in a caprese sandwich there is nowhere to hide. I was surprised by how good the tomato was! It had a firm bite while still having some juiciness and nice prominent flavor that was not outshone by the balsamic. The pesto was a nice addition with the basil being a little less strong than I expected, with a creamy and soft stracciatella cheese bringing it all together. The real strength of FORTUNA is the bread. It was perfectly crispy on the outside, being able to hold the sandwich together nicely despite the balsamic and stracciatella, remaining crunchy yet easy to chew and fluffy on the inside. They use the same bread for all of their sandwiches guaranteeing a yummy snack no matter what. The main issue I have with this restaurant is the value. Although the food is great and clearly a lot of care goes into their craft, it really does just feel like a snack. And aside from the caprese, the price of the sandwiches range from 18 to 21 dollars before tax and tip. I mind this less knowing that they use high quality ingredients and are a locally ran business, but this would not be my first choice for sandwiches keeping this in mind. Overall, FORTUNA is a great choice for a quick bite to go or a quick lunch on a weekday. I would still recommend trying a sandwich here but expect a bit of a more expensive bite going into it.

How I heard of this place: I walk by this spot daily. There was a lot of neighborhood speculation as to what would come in when the dry-cleaner left. We were so excited to see an Italian Sandwich Shop was on it's way; and eagerly anticipated its opening for the past few months, as we watched the signs go up, barquettes added, flower hangings, painting, and a courtyard/patio coming together. Type of cuisine: Italian sandwiches with fresh baked bread and delicious, imported meats. Ambiance: Quaint and cozy, with navy and orange coloring. The inside space is small, containing the open kitchen, with the opposite half offering bar seating for a sit-down lunch. Music is classy and perfect, with songs among my mother and father's favorites, and nostalgically wonderful. The patio is lovely, with a huge peacock mural on one wall, wooden picnic tables and fresh flowers everywhere. What I ordered: On this, our first visit, we selected: Bambino ($18), Caprese ($15), and Tonno ($19) with two bags of kettle style potato chips ($2 each), two cans of root beer ($2 each) and a 16-oz bottle of Pellegrino ($2). What I loved: I love the friendliest owners and staff to come into Phinneywood. They have waved at and welcomed us since they began renovations and continue to wow us with their kind hearts and thoughtfulness. Their opening, yesterday, had them sell out in two hours - over 270 sandwiches and a line down the block! We arrived early, today, and were the first customers in another line rounding the block. My kids knew exactly what they wanted, and I asked Luca, one owner, to give me his favorite - the Bambino. Why I loved it: It's a great addition to our neighborhood - made to order Italian sandwiches served fresh, robust and flavorful by amazingly friendly, smiling faces. Cost: High ($15 - $21 per sandwich)

Taste: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 This sandwich was a perfect glimpse back to rome. With seattle prices food is a little higher than what some might want to pay for a sandwich but this is one of the few places you can get this style, and they are huge. There is some seating inside. The prosciutto sandwich is a must try

got the Notorious PIG sandwich and the Buttermilk Biscuit while I was here…read more Starting with the sandwich, there were a ton of things to love about this The very first thing I noticed was how all-time crispy the pork belly was. Interestingly, the meat came in two separate pieces, arranges somewhat like an X or a cross in the middle of the sandwich. This certainly wasn't the eating experience of a typical sandwich with a circular meat patty, and I appreciate the creativity here. The meat was insanely crunchy, oily, and quite plentiful. Each bite felt a bit like you were biting into a crunchy churro, but without the sweetness. I did think the outside of the pork did overpower the inside, though, as I didn't taste the meat or the fat inside much, and due to the amount of breading the pieces ended up being a bit chewy The bun was quite good as well - it was pretty soft, fluffy, and served as a really good bookend to all the ingredients inside. I thought the lettuce and onions also were good. I don't know if I'm a fan of the jelly on the sandwich - but again, I do like the creativity. What did shine here was the aioli, however. In a lot of places, you don't really taste the aioli on a burger - but that flavor was ever-present on this sandwich, and it was really fantastic. The absolute best part of the meal, by far, though, was the biscuit I have to start with how huge this is. This is certainly not the size of a typical Southern-style buttermilk biscuit - rather this biscuit makes no apologies in its effort to stand out from the crowd. Absolutely nobody would mistake this for a traditional biscuit - on the contrary, I think on first glance most people would assume this isn't a biscuit at all. It's shaped more like a massive pastry. I hesitate to say that looks are deceiving, because it does look great, but its taste manages to elevate past that. This was SO good. The edges are baked perfectly - they're oily, crispy, crunchy, and perfectly flaky. All four sides provide an amazing base - like the walls of a fortress that surround the soft, tender interior of the biscuit. You can see the different layers from the outside as well. When it comes to the inside, there was so much to get through but every bite was heavenly. So much credit here goes to the honey butter - which when spread onto the biscuit, raises the taste level of the entire thing. I put so much honey butter on mine that I nearly finished the whole thing. When it came to the jam, it was good, but since it didn't combine great with the honey butter I mostly ended up just using the latter This place was expensive - around 16 dollars for the sandwich and 8 for the biscuit - however, I was quite full at the end

It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal

Given today was National Sandwich Day, I decided it was a great day to check them out! The sandwich menu is vast, so I had a hard time deciding what to get. I went with the Reuben ($14.75) (as I read it is made w/ their house-made brisket) and then I also got the Sriracha Chicken Club Melt ($16.75), as it seemed to be popular per reviews. I placed the order online - which was convenient! I showed up a few min late but my order was not ready yet, which was no issue.. the lady working (Rebecca, I think) was apologetic and was hustling. It seemed busy with lots of phone calls and orders. I loved the Reuben - the meat was so tender and not too fatty (which I prefer). Perfect ratios of sauce, meat and bread and not too greasy! Loved it and would order it again for sure. The Sriracha chicken club melt was huge, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Not that I didn't like it, but it was just too large and messy and didn't wow me. Still, nothing wrong with it per se. The Mean - THICK pieces of juicy corned beef with housemade mustard, pickled red cabbage and mint. The cross section of the sandwich looks insane! The combination of flavors is excellent. The Hama Hama Oyster Po'Boy - Deep-fried Hama Hama yysters with housemade remoulade and lemon-pepper mayo. I loved this. The oysteres were nicely fried with not too much batter. You could really taste the oyster and appreciate the texture. The French roll was also very nice. It was similar to a Vietnamese Banh Mi roll. Soft, but with a light crispness on the outside. Fully Loaded Skins & Ins - Skins & Ins are basically a mixture of fried potato skins and potato chunks so you get a variety of texture: thin and crispy, or soft and meaty. The fully loaded option adds toppings similar to that of a loaded baked potato (white sauce, spices, scallions, and super crunchy bacon bits). This was a nice change from having the usual chips or fries with a sandwich. Parking can be somewhat of a challenge in this area, but if you're able to make it over then I think it's worth visiting.

I've had Grillbird bookmarked since it opened in Greenwood. Today my husband and I were in the area…read moreand stopped by for lunch! It is a take out spot only! Ordering kiosks inside, not a lot of in person contact. (Perfect for some) The menu options are great. They have a "create your own" plate option, which I got. I ordered 1/2 teriyaki chicken and 1/2 sesame chicken, with brown rice. The meal was $14. If you ask me, that is a hell of a deal! The portion size was pretty hearty. Wait time said 14 minutes, but it was only around 10 minutes. The teriyaki was my fave of the 2 chicken entrees. The meat was thick, juicy and flavorful. (No gross fatty pieces!) The sesame was good too, but next time I would get a full order of the teriyaki alone. In, out, delicious food, good portion size and a decent price! What more could you ask for!!?

We came here for takeout recently and ordered the bang bang chicken and the spicy garlic chicken…read morewith edamame on the side. My husband, who prides himself as being a Korean who can handle a high spice level was SWEATING eating the spicy chicken. Granted, the menu does warn that it's very spicy, but he was not expecting this level of heat. He was only able to get through about half the meal and commented that he was glad he didn't have work the next day. (If you know, you know.) I'm not sure if this was just an exceptionally spicy batch, or if it's normally this spicy, but be warned! They're not messing around when it comes to the heat. The edamame was also just so-so. It's a bummer that out of the two times we've come here, we've only enjoyed 1 out of their 4 sides. Combining our first and second experience, I think this is a solid 4-star spot. Good for a takeout meal, if you order the right thing.

But I also love supporting other indie cafes and mega bonus points when they're motorcycle themed like Two Kick (QA/near SPU), The Wick (down the street), and now also Top Dead Center. The latter opened sometime over the summer, located at 77th & Aurora. I found parking around the corner off of Aurora (11/6/25). Can't park on Aurora since it's the 24/7 bus lane for Rapid Ride E. The big windows at the former Moto International building allow for plentiful natural light. Curated for motorcycle-philes and like minded enthusiasts. Ample seating adjacent to the front counter. There's also additional seating under the Benelli Service signage. During the cooler months, dress in layers. It does get a bit chilly along the big windows. Just saying. Coffee bevs that feature both Stumptown and Nguyen Coffee Supply roasts. There's other chilled bevs, panini sandwiches, tinned items, baked goods like scones, empanadas, and pastéis de nata (Nata!). Plus there's merch onsite to peruse...with the upcoming holiday season, unique gift ideas? And yes, they have onsite WiFi. I had a mocha and a mortadella and brie panini. The latter also came with pickled curried cauliflower. Good place to hangout in North Seattle with plentiful onsite seating and decent music playing.
