I've been craving a good sandwich for a while, so I decided to give this place a try after reading the positive Yelp reviews. The restaurant was fairly busy during the Friday lunch rush, but we were able to place our order without much wait and grabbed a table outside. We ordered the Bad Lieutenant and the Shrimp Po' Mofo. Our food arrived quickly, which was a nice surprise. The Shrimp Po' Mofo had great flavor with just the right amount of spice. The Bad Lieutenant was also tasty and well-seasoned. My only complaint was the bread. While it wasn't soggy, it was softer than I prefer and didn't have the crusty texture I was hoping for. Unfortunately, that took away from both sandwiches. Parking is limited, with only two spots directly in front of the building, but there is plenty of street parking nearby. I was in the area and decided to give this place a try, I arrived during lunch on a weekday, so it wasn't too busy. There are lots of seatings indoor and outdoor. The restaurant was clean and not too loud. The menu had a wide variety of sandwiches that I had trouble deciding one, since all of them looks delicious. I ordered the Bad Lieutenant sandwich and it exceeded my expectation. It comes with a generous portion of meats. The layers of pulled pork, ham, bacon with coleslaw and sauce makes each bite a delight. I ordered at the counter and the staff was friendly. We had not been back to Valhalla for a while. They are as good as ever. Some items on the previous menu are no longer there. But what we had was excellent. The tots are amazing. All the dipping sauces are great. The hubby loved his Fidel Cashflow. I loved the shrimp po' mofo. The chorizo on it was probably the best chorizo I have ever had. We asked for pickup around 11:30, and the restaurant had a few people in it but was not overly crowded on a Thursday, and there was some free street parking to be found. The outdoor seating area looked nice, with several people and a dog eating. I had the Thanksgetting sandwich which was a great take on a Thanksgiving leftover sandwich - all the toppings you'd expect plus bacon! It was a good experience overall, and it has the potential to have 5-star sandwiches, but in my opinion, something is off, and I can not pinpoint what it is. The quality of the ingredients is good, and the combination of flavors seems appealing on the menu, but once executed, it is not as great as you would have thought. Maybe there is too much sauce/aioli/mayo on it, and the bread is different (it is not a baguette, ciabatta, or brioche, but it feels grainy and dry). With good portions and solid prices this place has good value too. The person at the counter as well as the person who delivered our food were friendly and helpful. It is also about as large as the indoor dining area, which is dimly lit and spacious. Tables and chairs/bench towards the back/left as you enter, near the counter where orders are placed and picked up. It's minimalistic and offers no frills, but it's easy as a quick stop for a lunch break. What I ordered: Among our various visits, the Loaded Tots with Avocado has made it's way to our table, as well as the Super Chicken Deluxe - sliced chicken breast, grilled onion, roasted red peppers, gorgonzola, bacon, arugula, and rosemary aioli on a telera roll.
