    Grilled chicken Italian.
    Bo P.

This review is solely for the Grilled Chicken Italian. It was huge and absolutely delicious. I took it to-go, so the bun got a little soggy by the time I passed 520, but had I eaten it there, it would have been even more delicious. I wish I would have known to ask to cut it in half. But overall, one of the best sandwiches I've had in awhile. And what makes it even better is the fact that you can order it online. 10/10 would come again to try other items.

Such a cute neighborhood spot! Plenty of free street parking right nearby. There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff are super friendly. There is a large selection of snacks, treats, and beverages in addition to the food menu. I went for breakfast and order the breakfast sandwich with meatloaf. Was super tasty, would totally order again. Need to come back and try some lunch items.

I was actually not really familiar with this place until post-fire, when I heard a lot more buzz about it. Given today was National Sandwich Day, I decided it was a great day to check them out! The sandwich menu is vast, so I had a hard time deciding what to get. I went with the Reuben ($14.75) (as I read it is made w/ their house-made brisket) and then I also got the Sriracha Chicken Club Melt ($16.75), as it seemed to be popular per reviews. I placed the order online - which was convenient! I showed up a few min late but my order was not ready yet, which was no issue.. the lady working (Rebecca, I think) was apologetic and was hustling. It seemed busy with lots of phone calls and orders. I loved the Reuben - the meat was so tender and not too fatty (which I prefer). Perfect ratios of sauce, meat and bread and not too greasy! Loved it and would order it again for sure. The Sriracha chicken club melt was huge, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Not that I didn't like it, but it was just too large and messy and didn't wow me. Still, nothing wrong with it per se. Besides the sandwiches, they also sell other things they make such as bread pudding, mac and cheese, quiche, etc. which you can see in the glass case. They also have soups, too. Besides the food they make, this is also a market, so they sell beer/wine, chips, hot sauce, and some other items. There is also a small seating area so it is possible to eat-in. I look forward to trying other sandwiches next time - hopefully the breakfast sandwich or the meatloaf one!

Exterior. Reopened 4/9/25 after a gas explosion months earlier (6/1/25)

After reading another Yelper's compelling post, I had Take 5 Urban Market bookmarked for awhile. In the interim, this popular neighborhood business was closed after a gas explosion. Thankfully, no one was onsite. They reopened on 4/9/25 and I stopped in for a first visit on 6/1/25. Serious Sunday lunch rush was experienced while onsite in line. Despite seeing some menu items and specials of interest, I opted to go basic. A bit of sticker shock though for a grilled cheese sandwich at $8.95 before tax & tip. I asked the counter person their recommendation between the carrot cake (cupcake format) or the chocolate mousse in a lidded cup ($7.75 each), without hesitation she enthusiastically replied for the latter. Menu items included soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, mac & cheese variations, and baked goods. There are also featured specials. Grocery items were beverage focused, saw chocolate bars, chips, condiments, and other stuff and things. There's also clothing branded merch. Its product inventory was not as extensive or varied as another indie neighborhood grocer in Ballard, Salmonberry Goods. I paid up and then got a counter seat facing the sidewalk. All the tables were tables were occupied and others were standing waiting for their orders, whether to also dine onsite or as takeout. Another counter person later kindly provided a cup for ice water upon request, after my order was ready. My grilled cheese with Grand Central como bread was smallish. I did not quite get why there were lettuce bits under the sandwich though. The lone pepperoncini was a nice touch and added an exclamation point to the basic sandwich. The chocolate mousse was tasty. The hardened chocolate swirl had adhered to the container though, so there was some scraping involved. Thankfully, the compostable spoon was up to the task. Nice to see Take 5 Urban Market resume business operations and clearly a popular neighborhood destination. However, would I return after this specific stop from Shoreline? Probably not.

My go to sandwich spot at the moment. Their breakfast sandwich is hands down my favorite in the city, and a reasonable price. The bacon is perfectly crispy and there is always a beautiful halo of cheese that gets all crunchy on the ends. I can't stop going back for this breakfast sandwich. Also recently tried their BLATT which was just as delicious. The bread was the perfect toast level where it doesn't cut the roof of your mouth (iykyk). I definitely need to come back and try some more of their offerings. They also have a selection of beverages and sides for sale in the market + staff is all incredibly friendly. Great staple spot in Ballard!

    Standard deli feel inside

I went here right when it reopened and left because $12 for a wrap felt criminal...but seeing how prices are skyrocketing across the city, I decided to give it a shot. (And just for reference, Mean Sandwich in Ballard is charging $22 for sandwiches with similar portions.) I ordered the Caesar Salad Wrap and was pleasantly surprised -- it was perfectly dressed (not soggy), with crispy croutons adding just the right amount of crunch. The wrap included bacon, tomato, and generous pieces of grilled chicken in every bite, making it both refreshing and satisfying. I also grabbed the bread pudding from the takeaway counter and heated it up at home -- it was fantastic. Rich, large portion size for the price, and definitely worth picking up. Take 5 Market offers a wide selection of beverages and snacks, including bagged chips. I do wish sandwiches came with a small side of chips rather than requiring a separate purchase...but you can't win 'em all! The staff was wonderful. The woman at the counter was warm and welcoming, and when I walked in, everyone was laughing and joking together. It's exactly the kind of energy I love to see and made me glad I decided to give the place another shot. There's something special about a neighborhood deli that brings good food and good vibes to the community. There are a few tables inside if you prefer to dine in, but the headline here is how easy and efficient they make takeout.

I lived in this area for almost a decade I always thought this place was a grocery store not a deli, the person I was with said this place has a New York feel, idk I never been to New York. We arrived about 6 pm on a Friday few tables but there was one person in line, I rather eat in the place then take home. I got the special pastrami sandwinch and the meatloaf burger, Diet Coke and spirit. The wait was longer than I would have guess, 30 minutes at least I stop keeping track I was in all the way no point of checking the time. The funny thing the people behind the semi open kitchen was extremely busy making stuff, people pro tip or just tip in general call ahead or online for pickup you will forever be grateful. The pastrami but taste full but the meatloaf burger was delicious I would definitely go back for that and I did go back to try these usual soda drink, I didn't order anything the waiting is just not my thing. The woman in charge I figure she was the boss of not the owner saw us just waiting and gave us chocolate chip cookie , it was just like ones you made when your were a kid nothing fancy just homemade.

A neighborhood market full of wine, beer, snacks, and fresh deli. The locals love this place and the deli line never stops. I like that this place has some nostalgic candy no longer available at your regular grocery store, and an import of sodas and beers I've never seen before.

13 years ago I was lucky enough to call this place by employment but having moved to states away and come back every year and the food just seems to get better and better. My first visit I had to have the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato bisque in my God, was it a gift from heaven all of the soups and sandwiches are made here and made fresh and you cannot beat the chefs quality For the price! My second visit I had to have the meatloaf breakfast sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. The slice of delicious meatloaf cheese melted over the top on an English muffin... The perfect world I would be able to eat this every day and I had to have a nice cup of hot cocoa made by the barista. This neighborhood store has become part of the heritage of my hometown of Seattle, the one sandwich I recommend the most is to take five Rubin, but there are so many others to try but if you come here you need to spend at least a week... The macaroni and cheese is one of the most healthy portions I've ever seen in my life! The next thing I'd like to point out is that the sandwich called a BLATT is a must try! Don't take 5, take it all!
