The limit for the new green handled tote bag is 4 per customer. I also got some mini totes in the original colors of red, yellow, navy, and green handles. They're just $3.99, plus tax. The limit is 2 of each color. As usual, I looked at freshly cut flowers, greeting cards, and snacks. Everything is reasonably priced and the employees are very friendly and helpful! We found the mascot (a plushie monkey) and got free stickers as our reward (instead of a lollipop). It was a fun shopping experience! read more

Upon my visit today, I came into the store intending to pick up snacks and gifts. I am not originally from a state with a Trader Joe's, so people back home consider their items great holiday gifts. I shopped around and had a great experience until I reached the bag wall near the customer service counter. I followed the posted signage for the limited edition green canvas bags, which indicated a limit of four, and I grabbed four accordingly. I was shopping for a large group with varying tastes and felt the signature tote bags would be reliable gifts. I selected a total of 11 blue signature tote bags and the four green bags, for a total of 15. I had planned to purchase around 20, and as I was counting and inspecting each one for defects or stains, a male-presenting employee at the register made an audible comment from only a few feet away: "Do we have a bag dealer on our hands?" Immediately after this, the customer service representative stepped out from behind the counter to stand directly next to him and watch me as I continued counting. While I was quietly inspecting the bags, I heard additional comments directed at me. I heard, "She is probably a reseller," and, "She is probably going to resell them." These comments were loud enough for me and others to hear in an otherwise calm and quiet store during a weekday afternoon. In that moment, I felt publicly singled out, watched, and shamed for simply shopping. The comments and the way the two employees positioned themselves made me feel as if I were doing something wrong, breaking an unspoken rule, or even committing a crime for buying tote bags. After making direct eye contact with the employees, I no longer felt safe or comfortable continuing my shopping. The behavior I witnessed was unprofessional, unnecessary, and humiliating. If the store has concerns about reselling, staff should approach customers directly in a respectful manner or make storewide policies clear and visible. Instead, assumptions were made about me in a public space. As someone who has worked in customer-facing roles, I found the conduct deeply disappointing. Professionalism should always be practiced on the sales floor, especially when interacting with customers. The store still received $154 from my purchase of bags and snacks. However, this experience made me reluctant to return. I have always had positive experiences at Trader Joe's, so this situation left me confused and hurt. I cannot say with certainty whether this was racially motivated, but as a woman of color being openly spoken about and watched by two white-presenting male employees, I could not help but consider the possibility. The dynamic made me feel targeted and uncomfortable, and I am questioning whether my race influenced how I was treated. If Trader Joe's has concerns about reselling, clear policies need to be created and communicated so customers are not judged or embarrassed for purchasing items. Training and expectations should also be reinforced to ensure professionalism is consistently present on the sales floor. No customer should be made to feel humiliated or unwelcome for following posted guidelines and simply shopping. I want to acknowledge the young woman who rang up my purchase. She was kind, asked me what the bags were for, and treated me with respect. She is the only reason this review is one star instead of zero. I strongly believe a conversation with Trader Joe's corporate needs to happen regarding this experience. Policies must be clarified and professional standards upheld so that customers are treated respectfully and situations like this do not repeat. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately. read more

It's been a year since I've been doing my shopping here, and I have to say, I'm impressed! The store layout makes sense, the staff are cheerful and friendly, and they have lots of yummy groceries at a price that works for me. Amid COVID-19 response these last few weeks, they have done a great job for their customers by leading safety standards for stores. I'm especially grateful to their staff who continue to show up and be pleasant! The store has also stayed open (thank you!), sanitized carts, limited the number of folks inside and organized a queue outside, made hand sanitizer and wipes available, ensured spacing at check out line, and kept the shelves stocked. Trader Joe's and particularly this store has really gone down hill. The produce is always half bad Amir goes bad immediately after at home. The packaging of produce and refrigeration is horrible. Excess moisture in most plastic wrapped fresh food. Today ALL of the refrigeration and freezers were empty and non functioning. How can all of the units go out at the same time. And this has happened recently before. Before that the loading elevator was out of order for months and they blocked me for all the street parking. The management seems to have switched and you can tell because they've really gone down hill. Trader Joe's needs to revisit its purpose. I'm starting to think Safeway or QFC is a better choice. One of the younger gentlemen that works here is rude towards customers, women in particular. Don't mainsplain how heavy a grocery bag is to someone, if they say they can carry it, let them. If someone says they like their bag packed a certain way, do it and don't tell them they're wrong. It's 2024. I've genuinely never encountered a rude TJs employee until setting foot in this store, and I've shopped TJs for 15 years. We love Trader Joe's and this one is no exception! People are friendly and generally treat us well! Beware, though, because if you accidentally spill your coffee sample, they WILL make you clean it up; staff members MIGHT get you the paper towels, but the onus is on you to ensure the space is clean and clear of debris. This was a new try since I really wanted their coconut smoothies! They were out at other locations. And since I was in the area, I gave it a try! People working here were friendly. Customers though, keep shoving/touching/ as they passed by me. Very uncomfortable! And weren't wearing masks! You know the ones with the mask on the face but have it below the face. Given that, not sure I'd make my way out again unless I'm in the area. Parking is street parking so that's another thing you have to worry about if you get too much or if its raining. You really can't go wrong with TJs! Honestly, in every location I've been to, the employees are always incredibly friendly. They will stop what they are doing to help you find something. I also like that the flow of the aisles is generally the same across stores. Prices are also consistent! This location has angled back-in parking, which I find stressful, but they do have a garage below you can park in for free while you shop. And OMG they have dog parking! The first time I walked here with my dog, I was so happy to see a designated spot for my pup--he could watch me shop through the window. Right now, there is a bagging station outside, so you can just come out with your cart and use your own reusable bags instead of paper (it was getting quite wasteful in earlier months this year!) They always have everything you need in terms of the basics. They don't have a large variety of speciality items, but I can just go elsewhere for one or two things. They've got great frozen meals for lazy nights and always a good selection of wine--and pretty inexpensive for being so tasty. I love Trader Joes! read more

Like any Trader Joe's location, the interior layout is the same (which is a plus for anyone that enjoys consistency). The biggest difference between this location and their Capitol Hill location is they don't have any security (or at least not as consistently). So if you do happen to be put off by the constant security at Capitol Hill, this may be the location for you. Staff are always friendly, to both customers and each other, and I've had less instances of staff forgetting to bag items that they charged me for. This location does get extremely busy in the afternoons on the weekend, as well as before any major holidays (I'd say more than the Capitol Hill location). So if you're in a bind for that one item you've been assigned for a holiday pot luck, be prepared for a lengthy wait at check out. What I really like about this location though is how close it is to a few coffee shops (less than a 3 minute walk to a Storyville and Starbucks location) and there's a Safeway a few blocks away too. Tips: -Parking: Street parking (appears to be unpaid) is available on the entire stretch of Queen Anne Ave, however there's not much room to manuever if you have a larger car as the parking spots and the lanes are pretty narrow -Uber/Lyft pickup: There isn't a designated pick up area, so be prepared to wait between parked cars/parking spaces, and pretty much throw yourself into your ride share when it comes. So far the residents of the area have been pretty patient, and I have yet to experience any impatient drivers read more

I called the store immediately when I realized the mistake and they knew exactly the scenario. I explained I was too busy that day to make another trip to the store and asked if they could put a gift card aside with the amount of the purchase for pickup the next time I shopped. Much as I appreciate the hard work, decency, and friendliness of Trader Joe staff at this location, I've become aware recently how nutritionally "dubious" are many of the items sold here. Take for example, the Thai vegetarian potstickers (great in an air fryer). The salt content is astronomical. There are few low-salt alternatives to this and most other foods sold at TJ. After a hiatus of about a year, I bought pearl tomatoes again. They were worse than they were a year ago. Maybe I'll migrate to the little ones. The packages of basil you have to practically open up to ensure that there isn't a mass of black leaves. Still I'm grateful that TJ offers oat milk, strawberries in winter, organic wheat tortillas, etc. read more

I would not normally take the time to review a grocery store. Everyone has their own preference whether it's to save money or for convenience. What I will share about Trader Joe's and this is true for the Ballard location and University District store too is that they have great plants and cut flowers for cheap. The Queen Anne store and the U District store both have beautiful large bouquets of assorted fresh cut flowers for $12 or less. You can buy bright colored Gerbera daisies. Or a huge bunch of exotic, fragrant white and pink Asiatic lilies. But the two things that I keep going back for at the Queen Anne store is the large selection of live orchids. Their orchids are healthy, I've had orchids from TJ's last for months and even rebloom a second or third time. And also the seasonal outdoor items. In the fall they have bins of white and orange pumpkins. At Christmas they have very cheap fresh evergreen wreaths. For the price that you would normally spend on one wreath at another store, you can buy two or three wreaths. If you need a last minute gift or just want to do something nice for someone, orchids never go out of style and will add class to any space. And Yes. I love the food too. read more

I LOVE this new Trader Joe's. It's such an upgrade from the previous Queen Anne location. Big, spacious, and clean with ample parking in the garage makes this a much better option than the dark and gloomy Safeway next door. Since the new location is huge, it brings in more selection and variety of food. Their organic produce selection is much more diverse now and I'm guaranteed to always leave with something I haven't tried before. Also love their fresh flower selection. Generally I have a decent experience when coming to Trader Joe's until today. I've noticed a new way acting towards customers in the few places I've gone. I'm not normally sensitive to these issue but some days it's just so in your face you can't ignore it. So standing in line ahead of me this morning was a young Caucasian woman ( not wearing a mask , not standing behind the safety glass) I witnessed this woman talk to the cashier not standing behind the glass with no face mask for a good 4mins while being rang up. I walk up ( a black once the transaction was completed ( black male wearing a mask , and standing behind the glass ) I went to go put my card into pay I'm immediately told to wait to pay and that I need to stay standing in the box for safety distancing. I'm all for safety distancing( which I was doing) but my point is the obvious difference in treatment that has become very much a thing here in Seattle. It sucks I like going to Trader Joe's and this is the one in my neighborhood but I guess if your a person of color beware of shopping while brown you won't be treated as well as your Caucasian counter parts I bet this review has different tone now huh Trader Joe's !??.You're quick respond if someone has gotten rotten produce or bad milk but if someone tells you some of your employees treat minorities unfairly you are all the sudden unavailable! read more

We visited this Trader Joe's on our last day in Seattle to pick up snacks to take back to Hawaii. It was pretty easy to find, but parking can be difficult (all street parking, and there are a lot of other little shops in this area). Thankfully, we were able to snag a stall really close to the market. I really liked the look and feel of this Trader Joe's, especially because there was a wall painting of the Space Needle and the city landscape. You could definitely identify which store you were at. The "new" items section was also easy to locate at the back of the store. During my visit, they had a lot of cold brew items, ginger snacks and gochojang-flavored almonds (which I did end up buying a pack of). I'd definitely revisit this Trader Joe's if I were ever in the area again, just because of its cleanliness and easy access to items (i.e., even if I had never set foot inside this store, it wasn't hard to find things). Here were some of the best finds from this trip: Sweet and Spicy Ginger: Candied ginger has become a recent favorite of mine, and this sweet and spicy flavor is addictive. It's not overly spicy; it has sugar crystals to give it some sweetness, but there's a spicy aftertaste (it's almost like the kick has a delayed reaction). I brought this back for my boyfriend, who loves ginger, and he enjoyed every piece. This bag was also one of the cheaper snacks I bought. There's a sweeter version (that doesn't have the spice), so if I bought one for myself, it would probably be the less spicy option. Praline Pecans: This is my favorite TJ's snack and I took this opportunity to stock up. I got about four containers of these praline pecans. They can be pricy (almost $6/container), but they're so delicious, and I can't find anything else like it. I love the sweetness from the pecans and the crystallized sugar that tops it, and I love the crunchy nuttiness from the pralines. It's the perfect sweet and slightly salty hybrid, and if I'm not careful, I can eat the entire container in one seating. But, I've found this to be the perfect topping for my salads, mixed in with cereal, etc. Mangoes: These can be found in the dried fruits section (close to the sweet pecans, almonds, cashews, etc.) but one of my friends really likes this, so I bought her some more. I personally don't like mangoes, but if you're a mango lover, you might want to consider checking out these dried fruits. Wine: Some of my favorite sweet wines have come from Trader Joe's, but I knew I didn't have enough room in my suitcase on this trip to take one home. During our visit, though, it was neat that they were offering free samples of two different wines - a red one, and some type of mango-infused one that was perfect for summer. I didn't try the mango one because I don't like mango flavors, but the red was delicious. I took a spin down the wine aisle and this Trader Joe's has a pretty good selection to choose from. read more

This is the brand new Trader Joes located in Seattle on Queen Anne Blvd. The store has friendly staff, a great selection of foods (and spirits!) and competitive prices. The check out lines move very quick- the staff is almost immediate to ring the cashier bell once lines start to form and the staff is aware of the slowest moving line and helps that next guest in line. The store has a great sampling station and staff who know and provides honest feedback about their products (it is great to hear a salesmen tell you they did not like a product when you ask their thoughts and tell you details on why) read more

I usually love this location. So much so that I go every week and sometimes more. While shopping with my service dog an employee came to me and said, "we don't allow dogs, we allow service dogs" after saying sorry and that he was in fact a service dog the employee stared without response. When I asked if I should leave, while holding my yet to be paid for groceries, he walked away. Left me feeling very unwelcome and although I understand he was informing their rules it was still very rude. Spacious parking lot with a two hour time limit and you provably won't get run over trying to walk to and from your vehicle. If you choose your parking spot wisely and you know how to park, chances of you getting a door ding is as slim as any other populated area. We all know what Trader Joe's has to offer so I'll save my breakdown of what's hot and what's not. I will, however, say that they completely TKO'd their Cap Hill location in friendliness, helpfulness, and not increasing my anxiety level. Also, they have a legit parking garage. You know what I'm saying. Not sure why anyone would choose to go elsewhere unless you live a lot closer to another location and don't have a car (or you enjoy the thrill of parking in tight spaces, waiting for said space whole listening to a free symphony (honking horns), and possibly getting run over. I used to just put up with it and tell myself it's just part of city living. It doesn't have to be! Almost everyone was super nice and my cashier asked his coworker to come over and help me open a seriously tight jar of honey that I'd given up on and was going to return. Then he commiserated with me about jar opening situations and made me feel better about myself. Delicious honey and a morale boost. What more could you ask for? But you do you. read more
