Such a great Pho spot, with awesome service. The Pho was delicious and flavorful, we're looking forward to going back.

Best veggie pho in the area!! Not sure how they achieve such a richly flavored broth with just vegetables, but it's to die for! The carrots are also cooked perfectly - soft all the way through but with a pleasant crunch at first bite. In addition, their banh mi are large, chock full of marinated meat and veggies, and quite tasty. We were pleased to find that it wasn't overly sauced either. Service was kind and friendly without being overbearing, and our food came out quickly after ordering despite them apologizing for the wait. Bonus is that they offer 10% off if you pay cash. Definitely will return for the excellent food and service!

I don't have anything bad to say about this business they are the most courteous servers and owners I've ever met. The young girl there presumably the daughter said goodbye to me and thank you at least seven times during my visit. Today I ordered my go-to Vietnamese dish which is pad Thai beef and it did not disappoint. They give you about 20 to 24 oz per serving and it's more than enough for two people and there's no way I could finish all of that in one sitting. And I usually get it to go after I visit the evergreen tree massage place next door. Not to mention the Vietnamese coffee is a fantastic alternative to the usual iced coffees offered by traditional coffee stands. There's a spice in there I'm guessing it's either clover coriander but it tastes awfully good and mixes well if you have to add extra milk. I have yet to try the Vietnamese sandwiches but I am not ready for the daikon radishes and cucumbers yet I have to train into them as I am traditionally a meat loving guy. They look delicious though and my next choice will be the roast duck which comes with a side of Curry rice, jasmine rice or beef soup. On this visit they were out of the beef soup and since I came 35 minutes before closing they were loading up supplies from the front. Next time I told them. Bahn town has a steady, loyal following and they are ever increasing every day in business which is good for them because I love supporting the mom and pop places. At the risk of being verbose which I am prone to do I'm going to stop right there and say yes recommend this excellent international restaurant in the North end. You can even get your oil changed while you wait because there is a jiffy lube right across the parking lot

I know this is the right place when I hear the remix of old Asian country pop songs from 70s-80s were playing in the restaurant. Let alone the friendly Vietnamese-speaking owners/staffs. So I go for large pho with all cuts of beef without hesitation. It was amazing. To be honest, I have had pho in Vietnam, China and here, none of them fails me. Their quality and flavor are much more stable and consistent than my mental health and future. All the beef cuts are perfectly cooked, even the tendon, they are usually my least favorite----overcooked ones are slimy, undercooked ones chewy, but the tendon here are perfect to my liking, I topped a piece of pricked jalapeño with it, yum! It's a simple yet hearty meal, I finish all the pho and wish I could finish the broth too. Will definitely come back for more pho!

Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance 7/10 I would say this pho is not pure authentic Vietnamese and is slightly westernized. Maybe even a bit Asian fusion. So if you are looking for purely authentic pho, then maybe this place is not for you. But if u r just looking for tasty food, this is definitely good. Food is Amazing. Ingredients tasted super fresh and yummy. -Quail Poppers were so amazing. It's a quail egg wrapped in chicken meat and then deep fried to perfection. The sauce was also to die for! A nice sweet chili sauce. -Spring Rolls (are actually salad rolls) had nice fresh ingredients - Curry lemongrass chicken is perfectly grilled and seasoned. A beautiful lemongrass chicken with a mild curry and sweet honey taste to it. It came with some fresh vegetables and egg rolls. Their egg rolls weren't anything special. They just tasted like your typical frozen egg rolls you can buy at a grocery store. But everything else was def unique and tasted amazing! -Roasted Duck is very juicy and was very mildly seasoned with what I think is salt as the duck flavour was very prominent and delicious. Only complaint is that there is ALOT of bones and you do feel like u gotta work for ur meat but it is 100% worth it!! (And bones are common in Asian cuisine) The curry fired rice tasted like they infused homemade or fresh garlic powder and it is also super yummy. -OxTail Pho. The Oxtail is suppperrr tender and cooked to perfection. Very yummy broth. However I am unsure whether the broth is authentic as it tastes slightly different from the broth I have had at authentic places. But it was still extremely yummy. -Bubble Tea was very good. Tasted like they used Coconut Milk. I normally don't like coconut milk too much but it actually complimented the drink very nicely! So I would 100% recommend the bubble tea to. Service was 10/10. We were greeted by this super cute and friendly young asian woman who was constantly checking on us to make sure the food was okay and even gave us TONS of water. We never had to ask for her to refill or check on anything because she was already just on top of it and was super sweet. She even told us to let her know if we wanted more ice for our drinks or milk. She was just absolutely adorable and kind! Ambiance 7/10 The furniture and the environment in general seemed a bit outdated but it was clean and that's what matters!! It was also a fairly small place with only maybe 5 tables. But no complaints as we were seated and looked after right away. Overall I highly recommend this place as I do think of it as a bit of a hidden gem as their food was so amazing! (However I wish they included more vegetables with each dish)

    TINY AMOUNT of Lemongrass chicken,
    Chris A.

OK, update.. 6 months later. I was in a hurry, and near this place, that I tried 6 months ago, and had a difficult time with. Came in tonight, very nice young woman greeted and seated me. Funny, but I ordered the same Lemongrass chicken curry dish, I had 6 months ago. The woman said it was spicy. I then asked for 4/5 stars, spicy! Food came quickly. Food had good flavor, all was just fine, but it literally was milk-toast.. not ANY spice at all! When she asked me how everything was, I was careful to say the food was delicious, but disappointing on the zero spice. She seemed surprised. Anyway, I think their Bahn Mi Sammies look really good, but I can't recommend them for curry.

They're finally open for dining! Clean and kind service. Ingredients were fresh and visually appealing and in general just solid Vietnamese in the area. Parking lot is hit or miss, super tiny and not easy street parking in the area. We're lucky to have a lot of excellent Vietnamese in the area and this place is right up there.

    Tofu vermicelli plate
    Lana S.

I've come here for years due to convenience factor when I'm in the mood for some noodles or a banh mi. It's not my favorite banh mi or pho but I enjoy it well enough. I got a tofu vermicelli bowl the other day, which was mostly fine. But the cucumbers in the salad were horrible. Tasted like bleach, I don't know what was up with those veggies but they left a terrible taste in my mouth. It was weird. I've never eaten inside but the employees have always been friendly enough when I pick up.

5 Spice Chicken Banh Mi cross section
    Gina L.

Ordered a few banh mis and oxtail pho to-go. waited around 20 min (visit the fruit store across the street to kill time). We got the tofu, grilled pork, and 5-spice chicken banh mis, which were all quite sizable. I enjoyed the grilled pork, and my sister enjoyed the 5-spice chicken, although I wasn't a big fan of the latter. The bread was great and the sandwich itself was sizable. However, my biggest gripe was the radish/carrots were not very pickled. I love the pickled flavor to add contrast and crunch, but it just wasn't there. As for the oxtail pho, it tasted just like bone broth soup. I was looking forward to some pho flavors while I gnawed on the bones, but was met with none. If I'm back, will likely get the grilled pork banh mi, but skip on the other items.

gotta love good homestyle vietnamese food, that's exactly what you'll get here! we ordered chau's dirty rice, classic pho ga and spring rolls you can tell a lot of love was put into these dishes, always a great experience every day is a perfect day for pho when dining at banh town!

got the Notorious PIG sandwich and the Buttermilk Biscuit while I was here…read more Starting with the sandwich, there were a ton of things to love about this The very first thing I noticed was how all-time crispy the pork belly was. Interestingly, the meat came in two separate pieces, arranges somewhat like an X or a cross in the middle of the sandwich. This certainly wasn't the eating experience of a typical sandwich with a circular meat patty, and I appreciate the creativity here. The meat was insanely crunchy, oily, and quite plentiful. Each bite felt a bit like you were biting into a crunchy churro, but without the sweetness. I did think the outside of the pork did overpower the inside, though, as I didn't taste the meat or the fat inside much, and due to the amount of breading the pieces ended up being a bit chewy The bun was quite good as well - it was pretty soft, fluffy, and served as a really good bookend to all the ingredients inside. I thought the lettuce and onions also were good. I don't know if I'm a fan of the jelly on the sandwich - but again, I do like the creativity. What did shine here was the aioli, however. In a lot of places, you don't really taste the aioli on a burger - but that flavor was ever-present on this sandwich, and it was really fantastic. The absolute best part of the meal, by far, though, was the biscuit I have to start with how huge this is. This is certainly not the size of a typical Southern-style buttermilk biscuit - rather this biscuit makes no apologies in its effort to stand out from the crowd. Absolutely nobody would mistake this for a traditional biscuit - on the contrary, I think on first glance most people would assume this isn't a biscuit at all. It's shaped more like a massive pastry. I hesitate to say that looks are deceiving, because it does look great, but its taste manages to elevate past that. This was SO good. The edges are baked perfectly - they're oily, crispy, crunchy, and perfectly flaky. All four sides provide an amazing base - like the walls of a fortress that surround the soft, tender interior of the biscuit. You can see the different layers from the outside as well. When it comes to the inside, there was so much to get through but every bite was heavenly. So much credit here goes to the honey butter - which when spread onto the biscuit, raises the taste level of the entire thing. I put so much honey butter on mine that I nearly finished the whole thing. When it came to the jam, it was good, but since it didn't combine great with the honey butter I mostly ended up just using the latter This place was expensive - around 16 dollars for the sandwich and 8 for the biscuit - however, I was quite full at the end

Lorenzo opened Paseo in 1994, where his popular Cuban roast pork sandwiches were regarded as among the best in the country. After years of local expansion, Paseo abruptly filed for bankruptcy in 2014. The brand was subsequently bought out by a local entrepreneur, but the sale did not include Paseo's secret recipes (the reboot attempted to reverse engineer the sandwiches with varying success). So, in 2015, Lorenzo's sons revived Paseo under a new name, Un Bien, armed with their father's original recipes. Nowadays, Un Bien is generally regarded as superior to Paseo, and you can grab their Caribbean sandos at one of the three locations across Seattle. You can't miss the pastel pink-and-teal palette of the original shack on an otherwise drab block of Ballard. As you approach the wooden window, you are greeted by the aroma of sauteed meats and veggies. Communal laquered wood benches are lined up underneath a covered pergola. Fifties hits ring respectfully around the kitchen. My partner and I visited for late weekday lunch, and we ordered immediately. We opted to focus on the signature pork shoulder, so we split the #1 Caribbean Roast and #2 The Press. Across both sandwiches, we were impressed by the tender pork, rich onions, lemon-forward aioli, and marinade-soaked baguette. The standard roast pork sandwich added on pickled jalapenos and crisp romaine, culminating in a dynamic flavor that accentuated the meat. Meanwhile, The Press featured tart banana peppers, smoked ham, and melty Swiss, amping up the sweet and savory flavors alike; we agreed that this extra-messy sandwich just edged out the standard version. Our order took just minutes to be prepared, and the bill just topped $30. Despite the fanfare, I still found myself surprised by just how satisfying Un Bien's sandwiches turned out to be. Across all the food I ate in Seattle, only these pork sandwiches would be worth a return visit, even if I had to venture out of my way.

We ordered promptly, but were told we would only have about 10 minutes to use the seating area before it closed. When we asked for clarification because the restaurant was advertised as being open until 9:00 PM, staff confirmed they were open until then but said the seating area would close earlier anyway. After receiving our food, we were told not to sit down and were asked to leave the seating area altogether. The interaction felt abrupt and discourteous, especially given that we had arrived well before closing and had purchased food with the expectation that we could eat on-site. The food itself was average, but the poor customer service and inconsistent messaging about seating left a much stronger impression than the meal. There are other better places. Skip.

How nice! $20 for a sandwich seems pricey, but let me tell you, they definitely make a MEAN sandwich! The Mean - THICK pieces of juicy corned beef with housemade mustard, pickled red cabbage and mint. The cross section of the sandwich looks insane! The combination of flavors is excellent. The Hama Hama Oyster Po'Boy - Deep-fried Hama Hama yysters with housemade remoulade and lemon-pepper mayo. I loved this. The oysteres were nicely fried with not too much batter. You could really taste the oyster and appreciate the texture. The French roll was also very nice. It was similar to a Vietnamese Banh Mi roll. Soft, but with a light crispness on the outside. Fully Loaded Skins & Ins - Skins & Ins are basically a mixture of fried potato skins and potato chunks so you get a variety of texture: thin and crispy, or soft and meaty. The fully loaded option adds toppings similar to that of a loaded baked potato (white sauce, spices, scallions, and super crunchy bacon bits). This was a nice change from having the usual chips or fries with a sandwich. Parking can be somewhat of a challenge in this area, but if you're able to make it over then I think it's worth visiting.
