    Free sample bite from chef

Dinner from Nov 23, 2025. Menu is subject to change. Prices updated if dish is currently offered. Ramie is a re-imagined, elevated Vietnamese restaurant in Capitol Hill, at the same location that was Omega Ouzeri (RIP). The restaurant is remodeled worthy of a date night. As much as I love pho, bun, and Vietnamese street foods, I appreciate trying a different take of a cuisine that is vibrant with flavors. They operate as sampling plate sizes and suggest four to five items to share. We went for broke and ordered six. Some of their dishes are incredible home-runs while others are perhaps second or third base. Overall, these are creative and excellent efforts, and kudos to a well-trained staff with explanations and identifying their popular dishes. They also have a chef's tasting menu that is worth considering. The Food: Duck Custard, $14 - 5+ Stars Menu: egg custard, duck ragout, rau ram oil, rau ram, house seasoning This is a top-notch worthy dish that every table should order and, in fact, looks like they all did. Highly recommend. Scallop with salted egg yolk sauce, $15 - 3 Stars The salted egg yolk sauce is light in flavor while the scallop was overcooked. Good intentions, insufficiently executed. Hamachi Crudo, $27 - 5 Stars Thick cuts of hamachi are paired with crispy garlic, pickled veggies, herb oil, and sherbet, the last component being a surprising complement that worked superbly well. Highly recommend. Coffee rubbed pork ribs, $24 - 4 Stars We thought these ribs could use more coffee flavor. Nonetheless, they have an excellent umami flavor, are tender, with meat falling off the bones. I do recommend this. Pork Shank Ragu, $43 - 3.5 Stars One of their signature entrees. The meat is flavorful though oddly beefy. We both thought it is a touch salty. We opted not to finish. Anchovy Butter Noodles, $22 - 3.5 Stars Housemade noodles with an immensely rich sauce that tasted fantastic for the first few bites, then the dish started to taste salty. We opted to stop eating these noodles and the pork shank after 40% and brought the rest home to be 'modified'. The leftovers turned out very well. Hehe. Every table was also gifted a small bite of chef's special on bread.

Loved the concept of the menu and the restaurant. I've never had upscale Vietnamese food since I just eat whatever is at home. My first experience was very good! The balut was my favorite dish here. I could probably eat like 10 of those. It tasted like a rich soft scrambled balut. I was very impressed! My 2nd favorite dish was the tofu eggplant. Flavors weren't too overpowering and the potato chips added a nice texture to the dish. Our server was very attentive and accommodated whatever we needed. I love the ambiance of this restaurant.

I can't recommend this place enough. Their flavors of all their dishes are so delicate and well done. Service is great and I love how they go into detail when explaining the food. Ambience is very modern and a great place to take clients or have a date night.

The highlights of this meal where the palm poppy as well as a salted coffee!! I would go back for the coffee! Our server was amazing and so helpful! This was a relatively busy brunch spot, it was lively! Overall, our mains were okay, not to our taste.

Wanted to love this place but something fell short for their brunch meal. The food was just average to me. The flavors were there, but there wasn't anything in any of the dishes that wowed me. It felt like there could've been more to the dishes or something that makes them more unique than any other place selling Vietnamese brunch. Overall it was lacking something.. When I eat a banh mi chao, I want all of the items on the plate to be harmonious to each other. I want to be able to put combine different parts of the plate onto that piece of banh mi to make a perfect bite. While each part tasted well on its own, combining everything felt like it was too much and didn't complement each other at all. The pate and the cheese were too salty when I tried to eat them together or with the xiu mai. I also wish there was more sauce. The pastries were good. I liked the strawberry and cream croissant. The pate chaud meat filling had good flavor (though it kind of tasted like the xiu mai but without the tomato), but the pastry itself was a little bit wet at the bottom and I couldn't tell if it was from the meat or if the dough was slightly undercooked. I felt that the portions were a bit small for the price point. The food here was good, but it didn't feel like there was anything very refined or different about the dishes that would warrant a higher price. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we came, but the service was still a bit slow. It took longer for us to get our server's attention when the rest of our party had arrived and wanted to order. I was also surprised at how long it took for my Vietnamese iced coffee to come out. Maybe I'll have to come back and try their dinner menu to see if it is better. I do love the idea of a more upscale/elevated Vietnamese restaurant, as I truly believe that the cuisine can break through the idea that the food has to be cheap, so I'm hoping that Ramie can evolve.

The chicken and coffee ribs are AMAZING and worth getting! The pork belly was a lunar year special and nice trying the different kinds. The rice rolls are good but only if you like crab and seafood. The service was great and the presentation was pretty. Lots of seating and you can tell the food is made with love!

The happy hour here is delicious and it goes till 8pm which is awesome!! Seats are limited and a little cozy but the food is excellent! The coffee glazed ribs were my favorite!! Tender, meaty and tasty. The pressed bahn mi was very nice. Not too big but just enough to give you a good try to be satisfied. The turmeric fish was a bit strong in flavor for me so would skip that next time personally but it was fried excellent and was flaky. Beef skewers were super flavorful and filling despite just coming in a pair as well. Overall: packed flavor + good ingredients = I was more full than I thought I'd be for the quantity which was awesome and pricepoint can't be beat. Loved the jasmine tea vodka cocktail too!! Will happily return and give a recommend!!

We really enjoyed our experience here. The ambiance is very much upscale and classy, which we didn't realize initially but was totally fine. The service was good even once they got quite busy, but go early if you want more interaction or attention. The food was all very tasty, though my partner said he wouldn't order the bahn mi again because it was pressed and it just wasn't as good that way. He was glad he tried it but felt it didn't improve flavor at all. I liked my dishes but felt the portion sizes varied quite a bit. The mushrooms vs. the eggplant for example, but prices were higher for all items. This place is more of a tapa style/sharing plates menu, and there are limited options for vegetarians and few if any for vegans. That said, still very interesting takes on Vietnamese food and quite enjoyable. This would make a great date night.

We came to Ramie after meeting the owner at a different restaurant they own in Poulsbo. We decided to go to the Saturday brunch. We parked in front of the restaurant on Capitol Hill. Be aware that parking can get crowded. I believe they also have validated parking. We tried a couple of the pastries to begin with. The breakfast croissant was awesome with shaved pork and thinly sliced radish. I think it was the Ăn Sang Croissant. We also had Pho Tron Bo and Com Tam entrees. Both were excellent. All of the foods had a unique Vietnamese flavor and style to them while being different than anything we've ever had before. Two excellent Americanos topped off the meal. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself was chic and inviting. You can make reservations to avoid having to wait. Going to try their Bainbridge Island location next!

Such a unique restaurant! As a Vietnamese person, it was so exciting to experience flavors that I grew up with but in completely unexpected/new ways. What I loved: oysters on a half shell, mi muoi tieu, goi ca, bo la lot, che banh lot What was worth trying: hot vit lon (I know that this is a fan favorite but I strongly prefer traditional hot vit lon), che thai (also a fan favorite. I just don't like the dessert it's inspired by so that's completely a me thing), suon heo nuong, ca phe muoi What I could've passed on: banh cuon, nam chien nuoc mam, cha ca la vong chien There was nothing that I disliked, but more so dishes that just weren't memorable. All of this food was also for a party of eight which they did a wonderful job accommodating. I'm hoping to revisit when the menu is rotated!

Ramie is a stunningly gorgeous restaurant that has earned all of its accolades. The service is courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. I was 30 minutes late to my reservation due to a crash on I-5 and called to let the restaurant know. When I arrived, the staff even asked me if I was ok! The menu is innovative and still tastes like comfort food. The presentation is top notch as you can tell by the pictures. I'm looking forward to visiting with a larger group so we can order the whole menu

This upscale Vietnamese restaurant serves unique dishes featuring fresh, exotic ingredients. The space is beautiful and spacious with a great vibe perfect for hosting a private event. However, we encountered a major hiccup during our visit this evening. We ordered six different dishes, one of which was the Hamachi. When the server brought it out, we noticed it looked different from what we expected. After checking the menu to confirm there was only one Hamachi dish listed, we began eating. It was the third or fourth plate to arrive. My daughter eventually checked photos posted by other diners and realized that what we were served looked nothing like the standard Hamachi dish. When the server returned, we asked for clarification. He insisted it was Hamachi, but when we asked why it looked so different from the photos, he claimed we had ordered the "Hamachi collar bone," which isn't even on the menu. This was shocking. How could we have ordered an off-menu item that was never mentioned to us? Furthermore, the Hamachi on the menu is quite popular, making his explanation even more confusing. I remained composed since we were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday and had already finished the meal, but the experience started spiraling down. In my experience, when an error like this occurs, a manager usually steps in to clear up the confusion, but that didn't happen here. Instead, the server offered to take the dessert off the bill after taking his manager, which felt like an odd solution to the problem. Mistakes happen, but I still cannot wrap my head around how the server concluded I ordered a secret menu item during my very first visit. - bread: Skip. Not worth it. - duck eggs: Interesting enough to try at least once - ribs: Pretty good. A bit salty - half chicken: kale was excellent. Chicken was pretty flavorful as well - rockfish: good. We all liked the dipping sauce - hamachi collar bone: Skip it. - dessert: pretty good and exotic flavor but small portion. Try it.

We came for a birthday celebration. Trinh and her team made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. The plates are perfect for sharing and the pricing is spot on. Highlights of the night: the balut and that bone marrow! Already planning the return trip for their brunch menu.

Amazing wines, creative cocktails, solid snacks, great service and even games. You could wander in "for one flight" and somehow emerge six hours later wondering where the time went (in the best way.) On the wine side, they offer several thoughtfully curated flights, or you can build your own adventure. Which I highly recommend. The dessert wines alone are incredible, and the selection of aromatic whites is seriously impressive. No matter your palate, there's something here that will make you pause, sip again, and nod approvingly. And then there are the wine-based cocktails that deserve their own standing ovation. This used to be one of my favorite spots at Pike Market. For years, I made it a tradition to bring out-of-town guests here. Over time, I have brought more than 100 people here. It had a charming, warm, and welcoming feel--like a hidden gem in the city. It oozed with kindness and fun. Unfortunately, that has completely flipped! Since the new manager, Anthony, took over, the entire atmosphere has shocked me. What was once inviting now is rigid, cold, and unwelcoming. The biggest issue, however, was the way I was treated. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, which was both surprising and disappointing given my long history with this place. Great establishments are built not just on food or ambiance, but on how people are treated--and that piece is clearly missing now. It's especially unfortunate because the rest of the team still shows glimpses of what this place used to be. Jordon, was genuinely kind and pleasant, but one positive interaction couldn't outweigh the manager's miserable attitude. It's hard to see a place that once felt so special lose its charm like this. I know the winemaker Paul is a great person - so it is hard to leave such a terrible review, but at the same time, if this was my place -- I would want to know what was happening behind the scenes at my establishment. I truly hope leadership reflects on how customer experience is being handled moving forward. Don't give money to places that have toxic attitudes and are joy crushers! Life is too short and far too precious! In the meantime, there are many nearby spots that consistently deliver both quality and incredible hospitality. Skip this place, and instead go to Browne Family Vineyards Tasting Room, The Lonely Siren, The Pink Door, Place Pigalle, or Maximilien. Those places are working very hard to create an exceptional experience!
