I rarely leave one-star reviews because I usually choose places I genuinely enjoy--but this…read moreexperience was beyond irritating and disappointing. This used to be one of my favorite spots at Pike Market. For years, I made it a tradition to bring out-of-town guests here. Over time, I have brought more than 100 people here. It had a charming, warm, and welcoming feel--like a hidden gem in the city. It oozed with kindness and fun. Unfortunately, that has completely flipped! Since the new manager, Anthony, took over, the entire atmosphere has shocked me. What was once inviting now is rigid, cold, and unwelcoming. The biggest issue, however, was the way I was treated. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, which was both surprising and disappointing given my long history with this place. Great establishments are built not just on food or ambiance, but on how people are treated--and that piece is clearly missing now. It's especially unfortunate because the rest of the team still shows glimpses of what this place used to be. Jordon, was genuinely kind and pleasant, but one positive interaction couldn't outweigh the manager's miserable attitude. It's hard to see a place that once felt so special lose its charm like this. I know the winemaker Paul is a great person - so it is hard to leave such a terrible review, but at the same time, if this was my place -- I would want to know what was happening behind the scenes at my establishment. I truly hope leadership reflects on how customer experience is being handled moving forward. Don't give money to places that have toxic attitudes and are joy crushers! Life is too short and far too precious! In the meantime, there are many nearby spots that consistently deliver both quality and incredible hospitality. Skip this place, and instead go to Browne Family Vineyards Tasting Room, The Lonely Siren, The Pink Door, Place Pigalle, or Maximilien. Those places are working very hard to create an exceptional experience!

Another Pike Place Gem! Wines of Washington Tasting Room is a must try. This is easily one of the…read moremost unique tasting rooms I've been to. Amazing wines, creative cocktails, solid snacks, great service and even games. You could wander in "for one flight" and somehow emerge six hours later wondering where the time went (in the best way.) On the wine side, they offer several thoughtfully curated flights, or you can build your own adventure. Which I highly recommend. The dessert wines alone are incredible, and the selection of aromatic whites is seriously impressive. No matter your palate, there's something here that will make you pause, sip again, and nod approvingly. And then there are the wine-based cocktails that deserve their own standing ovation. A wine tasting room doing cocktails this well is rare. We tried the Espresso Martini, the French 125, and the Lavender Lemon Martini, and every single one was better than I expected grape-based cocktails to be. Like, pleasantly shocked. Bottom line: if you're anywhere near Pike Place and enjoy wine (or cocktails, or fun, or all of the above) this place is a must. I can almost guarantee it'll become your new favorite spot.

It was like a casual, ceremonial date, so beautiful I couldn't resist taking a picture. The scene was as serene and warm as the sunset in the background. We ordered several dishes, all of which were good, but I personally found everything a little too salty, and I kept drinking water. However, I'll forgive the ambiance and atmosphere.

Meghan was in town though, and she found a lunch reservation. I was so nice to catch up in such a nice environment. The entrance is down a nice alley with a pink door. We sat in a room with a full wall of windows that looked out to Elliot Bay. We started with beverages. I had the watermelon margarita with tequila, freshly pressed watermelon, triple sec, and lime. It was yummy, light, and refreshing. It has a perfect balance of watermelon/ citrus/ sweetness. Meghan had the patio poppin' with vodka, Aveze, Prosecco, strawberry, and lemon. We know how I feel about a coup glass. The drink was good, but I am not a fan of vodka in my cocktails. I prefer a tequila base. We had the arancini which came with fried rice balls stuffed with caciocavallo, mozzarella and served atop a spicy Calabrian chili sauce. This was the moistest arancini I've ever had. Normally I'm not a cheese stuffed item person, but this one was a solid choice and solid execution. These are popular for a reason. The sauce is similar to a vodka sauce, and it was so yummy I could have drank it. As we walked in, we saw a few boxes of gorgeous heirloom tomatoes. As a result, we decided to get the caprese salad. The caprese came with organic heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, torn basil, ricotta salata, first pressed olive oil and Sicilian sea salt. I wish that there was more basil personally. This dish comes in two sizes: small= 3 slices of tomatoes and large= 5 slices. The dish was a good caprese, but I feel like it could have been leveled up by a fancier olive oil. The inclusion of flaky salt was a great call. Meghan and I split two mains that way we could sample more things. It came with fresh spinach pasta layered with besciamella, pesto, and topped with marinara sauce. I feel like it would made more sense to put a pesto on top of the lasagna, but that's my personal take. I to understand why they did marinara though. I love a pesto lasagna though, so there was none leftover. I thought it was kind of a small portion, but that's just me. For the second main, we had the bolognese. It came with a slow-simmered meat sauce and Parmigiano-Reggiano. Normally, pappardelle isn't my favorite pasta shape because it can be so thick. This one however, was paper thin. The sauce was creamy which actually worked so well. I wish there was more sauce, but I always think that. As a sweet treat, we had the strawberry shortcake with local strawberries, freshly whipped cream, and aged balsamico drizzle. The shortcake was served warm which was a great call. Perfect amount of strawberries. The shortcake is more of a biscuit than an actual angel food cake. Great meal all, and I would go back. The staff was kind, friendly, and attentive.
