It is small when you are standing outside but opens up quickly as you step in. Great selection of local beer and cider is available. There are TVs downstairs and a small outdoor patio. Only 3 tables on the patio so don't dilly dally if one is open and weather permits. The service is at the bar top and friendly. Food is limited but I saw some brought in.

This is a cool little place to have some craft beers in a quiet, dark space. It's a little hard to find, but they put little sandwich board signs out on the street/sidewalk to help you find the place.

Stopped to grab a drink after walking around one night. Lots of seats downstairs. Bathroom is downstairs and has a code you need to ask for. Hey had soft pretzels for sale but that was it for snacks.

Options were limited this is more a of a pour house than a brewery. Had some seating at the top and then at the bottom.. I sat at the top to look out into the street. Had one beer it was ok can't even remember what it was. The server was nice nothing wrong there. He was friendly which I appreciate. If you in the area I recommend

I didn't realize that this was more of a taphouse that serves local beer. Large pours. Kinda divey. Decent selection of local beer and cider. I tried a guava sour that was pretty tasty.

This was a fun spot to grab some beers. I was definitely a little confused at first because I thought it was a brewery and not just a bar. There were a lot of great options to choose from and the staff were super friendly. We grabbed a flight to try some different ones and enjoyed the ambiance. Definitely worth a stop if you are looking to try some new craft brews. It was easy to find, had lots of seating and was just a great experience overall.

Nice tap room in Seattle. Small place off the street with 2 levels for sitting. Had the Apple Cobbler Cider. Delicious. Turned out to be a nice day to be walking around trying local beers. Cheers.

Good selection of beers and ciders, I think they had a couple wines too. There was plenty of seating available for small and medium size groups. They did have one big table that could probably accommodate a larger group too. There were a few table top games available and it looked like they let you bring in food since they don't serve anything besides pretzels (which were sold out anyways).

Lots of rotating options here. Go with a flight and taste a few of the unknowns. There are only two tables on the street level; great for people watching if you snag one! Downstairs has a more private, cozy feel for gatherings or date vibes.

Great little place we found while walking the water front. The bartender was knowledgeable of all the beers. I selected the High 5 Hefe. The inside was kinda old mining old brewery vibe. They have a nice selection of beers. They also feature many can beers.

Lots of great beer choices and very helpful staff! This was a really quick stop to grab a quick drink. But, the interior is very inviting and I'd love to go back and hangout longer!

Love how we can have fun playing games, taking pics, choosing a song, and having great conversations in the comfy booths. Service is helpful. One night one of the games ate our quarters up and never worked so we let the bartender know and a few minutes later he gave us our quarters back. Staff is efficient and keeps the bar clean picking up any left behind glasses quickly. The bar is quirky and fun. Private and comfy booths, and lots of clowns everywhere. Sad clowns, happy clowns, creepy clowns, and more clowns than you can count! The bathrooms are unisex with plenty of stickers to look at. Always hand soap and toilet paper available even when busy. Hard working staff! Some areas of the bar like near the bathrooms have flashy lights and makes it feel like you're at the circus. The vibe is laid back and care free. Have yet to try the food so no words on that quite yet! Always a great time at Shorty's. Literally one of my favorite bars! Highly recommend!

We had been planning for a week to go to that bar specifically, but we were immediately treated like shit by the bartender going off on a power trip, and it made us feel so uncomfortable we had to leave. We had no idea it was the kind of bar where tables were spoken for. We walked in and all we saw was a line to the bar. There is a possibility that I missed a sign, but I'm pretty observant about that stuff. We saw an empty table and naturally walked over to it, and he pounced on us to get our IDs like we were sneaking in. He kept telling us we were 8th in line. I understand they can't give us a set time, but the over-explaining and scolding was so unnecessary. We accepted that the table wasn't ours but he kept going on and on and on. I understand working in a bar gets stressful, and I know there are entitled people that probably pissed him off, but he was projecting something crazy at us that I don't think we deserved. He did apologize for being a dick I think he wanted me to fawn over him and tell him he wasn't but I confirmed that he was and he apologized which I actually respect. Maybe if you put up some signage or something, that could help unless the whole schtick is that your staff is immediately hostile. In that case good job. Hope I can snag a table another one of these days. Best.

One of the dishes I miss after moving to Seattle from the Midwest is the humble tenderloin…read moresandwich. A giant plate-sized piece of pork, pounded flat, breaded and deep fried? Yes please. After finding out about Loretta's Northwesterner, which is basically the only place in Seattle that serves tenderloin sandwiches, we made it a priority to visit on a surprisingly rainless and cloudless February winter weekend. Breaded Pork Tenderloin Sandwich ($18) - That's the stuff. A perfectly fried and breaded tenderloin, easily 3 or 4 times the size of the almost vestigial bun, topped high with veggies (on the side, of course, to assemble to taste). It's a very respectable size, larger than many places I've visited in Indiana and Iowa. Thick breading encrusts a perfectly cooked tenderloin, allowing a hard crispy shell to develop, while the interior meat, pounded flat, remains tender yet moist. Both the breading and pork are liberally seasoned with salt, pepper, and spices, which creates a well seasoned bite. They include tons of romaine, red onion, tomatoes, and tangy pickles - with everything in place, I almost had to unhinge my jaw to eat the sandwich. The bottom bun is slathered with an ungodly amount of mayo. It's necessary to add more creaminess and fat to the relatively lean meat. The one qualm I have that prevents me from anointing this sandwich the best in the west: the bun. While toasted on all sides, it's dry and kind of crumbles apart while eating. Otherwise, this sandwich is excellent and easily competes with the many pork tenderloins I've eaten in the Midwest. (5/5) Fries ($6) - A $6 basket comes with a generous portion of freshly fried potatoes. The fries are skin on, which basically makes these crisp starchy sticks a health food. I found them to be fried a bit too far, rendering the interiors fluffy but dry. They have good crisp exteriors, though, and aren't overly salted. (4/5) Tavern Burger ($7) - Loretta's is actually more famous for their burgers than the tenderloins, with many publications in Seattle claiming they serve the best in the city. People often recommend getting the Double Tavern Burger, but we opted for the single given that we were planning on a couple of stops for desserts and pastries afterwards. For a full meal, I'd definitely want to upgrade to the double - the single isn't that large, probably comparable to a cheap fast food burger with a slightly larger patty. The beef is heavily charred in flavor, lending a great smoky aroma and a beefy bite. It's cooked well done, so the entirely of the burger is the same brown color, but there's more than enough moisture coming from the other ingredients to offset the dryness of the beef. There's a requisite slice of melted American cheese on top and plenty of fatty mayo-based secret sauce underneath, dressing a bunch of chopped onion and sliced pickle. The tanginess from the pickle balances out the fat and meat quite well. I'm not sure I'd call the burger the best in the city, but it's certainly pretty good. (4/5) I don't eat at dive bars very often, but I'd definitely return to Loretta's for the tenderloin sandwich. It's not a dish commonly found in the PNW and the fact that Loretta's rendition is actually really good, is a boon to the city. Bathrooms - Two tiny unisex rooms
