By far, the Best Bar in Belltown. Great pinball, fantastic drinks, fun bartenders, and some of the best dogs in town. Been coming here for years and love this place. If you play pinball, the machines are well maintained and ready to play. Machines take quarters and bills and there is a change machine in between the front bar and the back bar. If you haven's had a dog here I would suggest the Number 3 dog with tomato, Mama Lil's peppers, and cream cheese.

Mostly just thrilled I got to play skeeball! And that they even had a vegetarian chili dog too. The drink selection was meh and there was one bartender serving drinks and making all the food. Please just staff your bar! The poor person was running ragged! They were really kind despite their situation though. It's a dive bar for Coney Island food and decor and to play pinball or skeeball, which was more or less our goal.

Chill cheesy place for a quick bite and some drinks, and throw in a few pinball games. I loved how affordable this place is, even though they're in the heart of Belltown. We got nachos, two hot dogs, and two beers for about $40, which was pretty cheap tbh. The staff isn't all that "friendly" like others mentioned here, but it's just not that type of place. You order, and that's it. They're not really trying to be "friendly" other than with some of the regulars or with their friends who stop by. It's usually busy, and the booth seating clears out quickly; most are here for pinball. We ordered: (not the most quality ingredients, but loved the quirky take on a classic hot dog) -Chicago Style hot dog - Interesting take on a classic hot dog, it hit the spot! -Chili Nachos - Just what you expect from Chili Nachos -Dumpster Dog - This was such an interesting, unique hot dog concept. It was like they threw everything on it, and the chips were funny. At first, I thought they messed up the order, but no, that's a dumpster dog, haha -Guinness Can - What you expect from a Guinness -Irish Death - Had all the vibes of a Guinness but better imo, definitely looking for this next time and anywhere I go, so good!

Pinball Machines

Im giving this stars for the fun/whimsical decor. I also love that they have a hot dog grill (although we only came in for drinks) We were greeted warmly by the bartender and sat on one of the booths. The booths used an old pinball machine as tables which was super cool. So on the other side of the bar they had a bunch of pinball machines and arcade games. I was annoyed that 2 of the arcade games I went to ate my quarters but the pinball machines were fun. Overall cool vibes and nice place to just chill and drin

This was the first spot my friend and I went to when we go to Seattle, after we settled in, we just wanted a couple drinks and simple food. The bartenders were nice. Love that the menu was just hotdogs and nachos, nothing more and nothing less. There was so much to look at around the bar, it was awesome. The bartenders were kinda enough to let us know about some other bars to check out.

The moment you step inside, it's clear this place was designed by someone who took clown college way too seriously--but in the best way possible. Pinball machines line the walls, blinking like a fever dream, and the whole place smells like nostalgia, cheap beer, and questionably legal carnival prizes. The bartender slides a Rainier across the counter with the efficiency of someone who's been here since the grunge era. The real magic? The hot dogs. A perfect balance of guilty pleasure and genuine culinary achievement. Outside, Belltown morphs into condo hell, but inside, it's an unapologetic time warp where skee-ball scores still matter, and no one judges you for ordering a second round of tater tots. Seattle changes. This place doesn't. Thank god. ALL the bartenders were also super nice.

Fun selection of games, tasty drinks and a laid back environment which is good. I'd go back here again and I'd recommend going on a weekday.

Ask the Community - Shorty's

Is it underage?

You must be 21+ with a valid state-issued ID, drivers license, or passport. If you're not from the U.S., the only thing they will accept is a valid passport, no exceptions.

Are the pinball tables set up for quarters, credits, hourly play?

The pinball tables take quarters. There is a change machine in the back, near the staircase to the Trophy Room.

Does Shorty's have A/C?

Yes.

Can u smoke marijuana here? Or anywhere in Washington other then a private residence?

I smell marijuana around Shorty's all the time. You technically aren't supposed to smoke out in public, but no one cares all that much. Cops *can* ticket you for it, but I don't know anyone who has been ticketed for smoking grass in public.

Is this a Chicago bears fan bar?

No, but Seattle is pretty laid back so you won't be kicked out for loving da'Bears! 👍

The bartender said Screwdriver Bar. I looked it up, closed my tab, and walked over to Screwdriver Bar which was a short walk back to my hotel. Score! First off don't get confused. There is one (1) door attendant possibly for two venues?! I want to say there was a venue on top of this bar. Either way I saw Screwdriver Bar was downstairs so be sure you kinda know where you are going. Screwdriver Bar is (seemingly) free from a cover. I walked down the steps and entered a whole world of vinyl records, throw back artwork and memorabilia that filled the very top of the ceiling all the way down to the tables and floor. This spot made me feel welcomed right off the bat with laughter, people dancing, and a busy bar staff serving up all the drinks from tallboys to fancy hand shaken cocktails. I really enjoyed my time here when I visited. On the menu I thought I saw a dumpling type of food situation going on. I know I smelled good warm food smells but I did not have a chance to order anything (I ate somewhere else). Mostly locals here which made me feel good as the recommendation was spot on and the others here were all having a great time which was the vibe I needed during my stay in Belltown.

It was pretty packed on Friday or Saturday, can't quite remember which day I was there. I didn't order but nobody at the table had problems with service. It serves comfort food - classic breakfast diner items that can bring a person back from the dead. The eclectic fellows that inhabit this establishment in the wee hours of the morning come in all shapes and sizes, but they just have one goal - eat something greasy and satisfying. That's where this place delivers. I ended up here at slightly after 3 AM - and it was pretty packed. All the tables were full, and we were considering leaving after about ten minutes when one finally opened up. The servers are incredibly busy, and it took us about 15 minutes to actually get our order in. I got the cheese curds as my meal. These were easily the best cheese curds I've ever had. In Seattle, I've had a few instances of cheese curds that are relatively sad on the inside - they have a decent fry, but fail on the cheese aspect. That's absolutely not the case here. This cheese is amazing. It's the perfect level of squeakiness, and the stretch is unreal. It has a very unique flavor that you'll only find in cheese curds, that soft yet milk-like taste that's so addicting. It was melty, gooey, and hot inside. The taste was just pure heaven - I was shocked at how good these were. The fry on the outside is also so good. It's light yet so crispy; a beautiful golden brown that produces an amazing crunch when you eat it. Just phenomenal. The sauce provided with this was solid, but honestly I didn't even need it as the curds were amazing by itself. I tried some of the chicken fried steak as well. This was fine. The scrambled eggs were decent, but the hash browns felt a little limp and soggy. The steak itself was pretty average. The prices here aren't too bad either - my cheese curds were around $16, but the portion size was more than enough. Overall, this is a true late night classic that serves pretty great food as well. 8.75/10

They don't seem to split bills based on seat, but can do even splitting amongst a party. Music is a little loud, but they have a jukebox so you can pick different music. I came here during lunch, so it would be interesting to check out the vibe at night. Food was ok. I got the chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were basically ones you buy in the freezer section at the grocery store. They provided a generous serving of fries and I didn't end up finishing them. I wouldn't order this again. Happy hour menu looked reasonably priced, so I might go back to check that out.

Some Random Bar - Crab nachos

Wow, this review is 8 years old! I want to share my experience with Some Random Bar…read more In 2017, my mom and I visited Seattle for me to look at apartments and interview for jobs. We came here to eat because it was near our hotel. I was OBSESSED with the crab nachos. 2 months later, I moved out here all on my own. Now, 8 years later, I live nearby. Whenever someone is visiting, we come here. Whenever I run into a stranger visiting, i say they have to come here. My friends know if i'm celebrating anything, "are you getting crab nachos?!" It's become a part of my personality at this point. I have so much respect for the owners, the way they run their business and their honesty online. No one I've brought here has had a bad thing to say regardless of what they ordered. My go to is: Pull apart bread, crab nachos (with their hot sauce!! which, btw can i buy that by the bottle.. cause YUM) + whatever drink is calling my name (they rotate, but if you can get the pina colada you won't regret it). tldr; you'll regret NOT coming here.

I underestimated the attractiveness of Happy Hour where many drinks are $1 to $3 off. The place was full and became even fuller (and louder) by the end of our meal. This bar is hopping with many regulars, alcohol-filled, with multiple screens televising sports. When we went in October, the food menu says the food is discounted 25% off during certain late hours. The current online menu doesn't say that anymore. Not sure if that deal is still available. Our server was easygoing. Note they charge 3% for credit card use. The Food: SRB Burger, $22 - 3 Stars Menu: Painted Hills beef, burrata mozzarella, basil aioli, arugula, pickled onions, hand cut fries Per the menu description, this burger sounded great. Unfortunately for hubby, this burger has the exact pet peeve that he dislikes the most - where the patty is small and tall (he calls it ball shape) compared to the bun. The patty diameter is significantly smaller than the bun. He literally hates that. I had to tilt the camera much lower to see the patty inside. On the plus side, the fries are great. Grilled Shrimp Club, $24 - 3.5 Stars Menu: bacon, lettuce, tomato, house made guacamole, roasted chipotle aioli, hand cut fries This club sandwich is very good except for the one thing that the menu didn't specify - the bun. They use ciabatta bread, which I find doughy, thick, and overwhelms a sandwich. That is my pet peeve for a sandwich. Neither of us is betting well on this night. They are probably more of a 3.5 Stars overall. We find their prices to be high, especially since they additionally charge a credit card fee. When we went, the cost was $21, $23 respectively. The prices are now $22 and $24 per online menu. I would not return for food only. I would return for a bar vibe.
