I stopped in to try it out and spoke with the bartender who gave me a card to contact the manager. Hope they get back to me! My experience was good. The bartenders were attentive and made good drinks. The ambiance is nice and cozy with little lamps. I liked the visual menu. I will say that the drinks are a bit overpriced at more than $20 per drink. Down the street at Zig Zag Cafe they are $17 for a bit "finer dining" feel. read more

TLDR: Ambience is amazing. Bartender...not so much. We came here semi-regularly for the past two years, typically bringing in a handful of people with us, because the ambiance is wonderful (chill space, beautiful decor, warm lighting with a romantic feel to it). Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot. read more

Saw a show at the Showbox Saturday night and was looking for a bar to chill in for a few drinks. The Diller Room is close to the Market, and close to the Showbox, right by the Hammer Man. Stumbled upon this gem when walking around the waterfront up back to Pike Place! This place seems perfect for a date night: low-lit & intimate. Really homey and loved the interior! So many fun cocktails to choose from and more fancy pours depending on your budget. Most of their hard alc was $20 for a shot and could go up to almost $100, but my boyfriend and I were more than content with our cocktail and old fashioned. Prices were around $20-$25 for a cocktail that comes decorated as shown in the drawings! Loved the attention to detail. What we got: - Geisha's Whisper: small serving but very fresh & couldn't taste the alc. loved the lil decor that came with it! - Old-Fashioned: don't know how they nailed it but had the perfect ice cube and the citrus notes really helped you overcome the insane strength of the whiskey You can also tell the owner loves whiskey by the selection on the wall and we got to learn more about the place from one of the bartenders. The Diller room is one of the oldest bars in Seattle. Started in 1894, they have been pouring drinks for patrons for over 100 years. This bar is one of my go to for night caps. The interior has a classic and timeless feel. The pressed tin ceiling and original brickwork adds a classy vibe to the bar. The bar has a good amount of seating room. They also have a back seating area offering the same classy vibes. Outdoor patio seating is available and is perfect people watching while sipping on a craft cocktail. This bar features a massive collection of over 900 whiskeys and a decent list of cocktails. I've had their Espresso Martini, Manhattan, and even a Vesper. My favorite drink to get here is the Old Fashioned and served with a large ice cube. This bar does get packed at night. Service is top notch and I've always had a fantastic experience. Pricing is on the higher side. An Old Fashioned is about $22. I've never tried their food and that will be the next on my to do list. read more

Visiting Seattle, we were super excited to go to The Diller Room after seeing it on Yelp--it was only a short walk from our Airbnb and the aesthetic looked right up our alley in pictures. To The Diller Room's credit, it was in the right location as promised and was really cute & vibey both inside and out. We also appreciated the descriptive cocktail menu with stylish depictions of all the signature cocktails. We got two cocktails with the intent to order another two; the old fashioned was good (kind of hard to mess up an old fashioned), but the cherry blossom whiskey sour (I forget what they called it) tasted like... nothing? It had a vague sourness that was sort of the only thing we took away from it. Didn't even finish it. We got the olives and a pepperoni pizza, as well. The olives came swimming in a cold liquid that was reminiscent of Italian dressing, with only cheap little wooden skewers to try to fish them out--unfortunately the dish the olives were in rocked back and forth when you tried to get an olive which made it really difficult. We almost resorted to just using our fingers, which would be fine, as long as you don't mind dunking your fingers in the aforementioned cold oily liquid. The olives themselves tasted fine except for the weird liquid they were in. We weren't given a dish to discard the pits into like you normally see. We each ate one olive. The pizza was mostly inoffensive, but was pretty flavorless except for the sauce that was vaguely reminiscent of spaghettios. We finished the pizza. It would be something you'd be pretty happy to get at a movie theater or a bowling alley, but we were bummed to have wasted a meal eating it. The service was not good. The server who took our order at our table was curt and fidgety and looking around while we ordered... it kind of felt like we were bothering him to order. After our drinks and food came out (in maybe an average amount of time, to their credit), nobody ever stopped back by. After a half hour I just went to the bar and asked for my check. Our server was working the bar, as well, and didn't seem to register that I had to get up from the table to go to the bar and ask for my check. We were really disappointed, honestly. Celebrated my birthday at the Diller Room last month. A bit of a chance for a Friday night at a downtown bar, but we walked in around 8pm as a group of 12 or so, and they weren't too busy to accommodate us. Maybe birthday luck as the place filled out quite a bit over the couple hours we were holed up in there, but I'll take it. This historic bar is dimly lit, long and narrow with tables, bench, and bar seating, and it opens up in the back, which is the area we sort of took over. The bartenders were friendly and put out a self-serve water station at the end of the bar for us. Their drink menu is extensive, and on the expensive side around $20 per for specialty cocktails. I started with the Naked & Famous (Los Vecinos Mezcal shaken with yellow chartreuse, aperol, fresh lime. Served up) and found it too sweet to finish. Several others remarked on their various drinks being sweet as well. Sort of surprised by that at a place that claims to serve the best cocktails in Seattle. In my opinion, they needed to be better balanced to showcase the spirit. I switched to straight tequila after that which I think was a good move. Food is available from Tra Due Leoni next door (personal pizzas, cheese & charcuterie boards). I tried a slice of the margarita pizza and it was tasty. As the Diller Room itself is just a bar without a kitchen, they do allow well behaved dogs inside which was a bonus. All in all I like the vibe and that I can have a drink with my bff (best four-legged friend), but I don't love the steep prices, and now I know to stick with the basics as far as drinks are concerned. read more

One of the best cocktails I have ever had was at the Diller Room: the Diller-ricious (blueberry vodka, shaken with lemon, muddled cucumber, and blueberries). They have a wide variety of specialty cocktails for all kinds of tastes and preferences. We went twice during our Seattle Trip. On Wednesday night, there was only one bartender for the whole place and orders got backed up. On Thursday night, there were two bartenders, and drinks were out faster. The vibes are great. This place is a gem in the Emerald City! My friend and I came upon it after playing tourist all day and it did not disappoint. If you are looking for the quintessential classic all american real bar with great spirits, go no further. It's a nice little quaint bar with low lighting and a nice speak easy demeanor. The service was impeccable, and the bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful in helping decide what we wanted. We just had a little snack of the marinated olives and Flatbread. The bread was amazing. The olives were good, except there was way too much acidic by way of lemons. The olives were way too lemony....it was similar to olives in unsweetened Lemonade. The drinks were amazing. This place has an entire full bar of spirits, wine, etc. This includes an extensive display of Japanese whiskeys, Mezcals, Tequilas, Bourbon, Scotches, Wines, and more. You can't go wrong for any drink you would like. This is an old school bar with a great selection of spirits and bartenders. Nenok (the bartender) was an absolute dick. my boyfriend kindly got his attention after we were waiting 10+ mins (they weren't busy) and he basically had told us, "if we were unhappy there's the door". i have never had a bartender treat us so badly. i would never recommend this place to anyone. the bouncers were a 10/10, they were so so kind. it's a tuesday night, here in seattle, we should have not been treated like this, and i will never be coming back. @the diller room, get a new bartender pls and thank you. read more
