Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.

I came on a lovely early summer day and it was very sunny. I got a seat out under the sun, but it proved to be way too sunny, because by the time I finished my beer and truffle fries, I was more than ready to go inside. It was odd the day I came as it was early evening and there weren't that many people here but seems all the shaded seats were already reserved, so any walk ins coming in were shown to pretty sunny table tops. There was a 4 top that sat next to me and a French speaking table and a little half way into their drinks, they just moved to the shaded area, but saw that waitstaff told them they could only stay for a little bit. Wow. I also ordered some truffle fries and gosh the price tag for that was close to $20! Wow, inflation is seriously a problem! Really great views on a nice day in Seattle. With this attitude toward service, I'm sure none of them realized what kind of business walked out the door in that moment, given I live within walking distance, happen to like a good whiskey, and believe in tipping handsomely for good service. And Trevor not only makes us laugh with his wry wit, but also makes the perfect gin martini! I want to preface this by saying the staff was very kind, but the restaurant was very understaffed. We waited about 20 minutes for 2 glasses of wine, and an hour and half for our food, that arrive cold, somehow over and undercooked? We ordered a garlic shrimp dish that arrived as small cocktail shrimp in a bowl of butter, and the market fish was about 6oz of fish on a plate of sauce for $37. Maybe an off night for them, but as someone who frequented Queen City when Linda was the owner it makes me so sad to have this type of an experience. I truly hope the new owners take the steps to make this the special place we all knew and loved.
