    Clam chowder $14 (take out)
    Jenn W.

I ate here a few times during my two night stay. I had both breakfast and dinner here. For breakfast I had their breakfast burrito and for dinner, I had their clam chowder, steak frites and potstickers. Overall, the food is decent but nothing really stood out or made me feel like I needed to come back. I probably would not eat here, if I was not staying at the hotel. But, the bar looks like a great spot to grab a few drinks.

I visited the Bookstore Bar and Cafe with one of my best friends in Seattle after attending a 49er vs Seahawks game. As soon as I entered this cafe, I was enamored by the ambiance and the concept. The cafe is designed to look like a large library with very classy bar tables and chairs. My friend and I ordered Espresso Martinis and I have to say that this cafe serves the best Espresso Martinis! It was a bit slushy with the right amount of espresso, vodka and liqueur. Yummy! The service was fabulous. Our waitress acknowledged and took our order as soon as we sat at our table. I would 100% recommend a visit to this cafe if you find yourself in Downtown Seattle.

Average food but such cute interior lined with books on the shelf! House red and white were pretty tasty, and happy hour tots were very enjoyable. Portions were a bit on the smaller size to share.

I loved the library decor of this bar and cafe located within the Alexis Royal Sonesta Hotel in Seattle. The bar has a happy hour menu and plenty of nice choices. The charcuterie board was $12 and perfect for 2 (but one person could smash it, too!). The service was prompt and guests were piling in after 5pm. I never got to try a meal, but really enjoyed the bar.

Service was very attentive! Food was impeccable, the soup of the day (Friday) was tomato basil and came with mini grilled cheese which was perfect. The ambiance of being in a book shop just make its cozy and inviting! The old fashioned and espresso martini were so good we ended up having 3 each!

A 3.5 is probably a better descriptor for our experience. The food was fine, but the service was mixed: very friendly but also slow. Our server was very friendly but was constantly chatting with the bartender and not checking on their 3 or 4 tables, who we watched have to walk up to the server to get their checks. We also had to walk up to get their attention to get napkins, get our check, and then again to pay our check and they told us they forgot about our food so it had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while. They did offer to get us fresh food if it tasted off but it was spring rolls and wings and we had waited a bit already. Again, very friendly service, but just inattentive despite there only being about 3 tables including us. I will say the drinks were very good and came out quickly. The ambiance was also great because you feel like you're in an old book store. I'd come back and try again maybe during their cafe time and see if it's more consistent.

Food was great the wings had a lot of sauce and great flavor. We loved our sliders and burgers. So convenient since we are staying at the hotel

Bookstore boasts of a gorgeous bookshelf-lined, selective and sparse decor that felt immediately cozy on a rainy evening. Service was impressive- fast, friendly and attentive. They had a handful of gluten-free and gluten-friendly options on the menu, and gave us a fair warning on cross-contamination. We celebrated a colleague's birthday that evening, and they graciously offered a delightful complementary dessert to share. Food was delicious all around.

How I heard of this place: In June of 2018, I met a colleague here for a coffee and snack meeting. It was her choice, and I was delighted as I'd walk by numerous times without ever having entered. Type of cuisine: Upscaled American bar/pub food. Ambiance: A sophisticated bar setting, complete with shelves of books, desk lamps with amber lighting and a mansion library colors and detail. What I ordered: An orange mocha and butter lettuce salad ($11). What I loved: The creamy beauty of the orange mocha. Why I loved it: Simple, yet satisfying, tasty and convenient. Cost: High ($15-$24 per lunch entree)

I live in the neighborhood, this place is so cozy for dinner and an evening cocktail. The menu rotates so here's their winter offerings. Service is great, everyone is kind. The receipts are kind of weird, you tip before your card is run since it's a hotel restaurant it's set up to be "charged to a room" so just make sure they actually run your card before you head out. The fish and chips is a must try.

    Sam T.

The ambiance and quality of food was amazing! I am definitely coming back! The libations were strong and tasty! The chowder is a must and the burrata! Look for Terence as a server he was the best! Knowledgeable and pleasant! Mention my review!

The First Gentleman was attentive and we got our drinks and an appetizer timely. We ordered our second appetizer with our first server and thats where the service deteriorated. I could hear the table next to us ordered the exact same appetizer as we did 10-15 mins after we did and a new server who must had just clocked in brings them the order literally within 2-3 mins later and the male commented, "oh that was fast" and I thought to myself they got our order. Another 10-15 mins go by and I had to ask "do you know how long our order will take to which she seemed to get annoyed. It could have my energy because by that time I was annoyed. I'm not sure what happened to our original server but he must have gotten off. About 5-10 mins goes by and here it comes. That confirmed the table next to us got our order because of how long it took. They never apologized for their mistake. Doing all that time they never came back to see if we would like another drink. I had to flag someone down. The clincher was we got our bill and there was 22% service charge. That was on me because if I would have seen it I might not have gone. I'm not a fan of automatically charging a service charge. I'm a great tipper but it must be earned. By than I was really annoyed and thought to have a conversation with the manager but let it go. I would not go back. The craft cocktails are spendy but I had no problem with that because they're creative and they earned it by being creative. But the energy and the environment wasn't like the other speak easy bars I visited. It was boring and to top it off the service charge of 22% and the service that came with it sealed it for me. Make sure to read the website on their thought around the 22%.

I also had El Boho (flavorful but not overly sweet). The staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to recommending drinks. The prices are on the higher end, but personally I think they're totally worth it for the creativity and overall experience. This is the spot I bring all my out-of-town friends to because the ambiance, vibes, and drinks are just that good. Truly one of Seattle's gems.

When the city reopened in 2021, I was eating here almost every day; partly because of convenience, but mainly because the food and service never miss. I've hosted everything here: birthday celebrations, after-work hangs, and dinners with friends and colleagues. Every single time, it's a hit. People walk in, fall in love with the vibe, and walk out talking about the food. The consistency is unreal. They even order food to go. The flavors? Bold, intentional, and layered in a way that makes each dish feel crafted, not just cooked. The presentation is always stunning; plates that look as good as they taste. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they send out. Drinks are equally impressive. Their cocktails are balanced and creative, the kind that make you slow down just to appreciate the mixology behind them. And for anyone planning group outings: reservations here are a breeze. They're incredibly accommodating with large parties, and the service stays sharp even when the place is packed. Attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced; they know how to take care of people. Dead Line checks every box: atmosphere, flavor, presentation, service, and seamless hosting for big groups. Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). Bottom-line: Roquette was a revelation. It served up two of the best cocktails that I've had this year.
