    Cauliflower Fritters
    Don B.

Was really expecting a lot from this place and had an overall okay experience. Service was great and staff were friendly. Also, the location was in the heart of downtown and perfect for an urban vibe. The food was close to 4-5 stars but each dish had some major misses. First up is the crispy karaage chicken wings. Great flavor but just a slightly sogginess on the batter. Same with the cauliflower fritters. Sauce was amazing but the coating on the cauliflower was undercooked. Maybe an off night for the person on the fryer. The bacon lemon scallops are pretty good, just very small. For the main I tried the malbec beef shank. Great presentation with the bone in and the portion size was enough for two. I was so disappointed that this was over seasoned to the point that the saltiness really made it hard to finish. Everything was so close and with some tweaks this would have been amazing.

I wish I can remember all the names of the dishes I tried tonight. I think we pretty much tried almost everything on the menu. Please see attached photos and my best attempt at the names in the description. I have been to the Bellevue location before but it was late at night and me and my buddies were just there to grab a couple of drinks. Tonight at their Seattle location, my visit was for a completely different occasion. We were a group of 12 or so for a work event. My boss' EA ordered a set menu for us starting from the appetizers to desserts. The service was not very good but not bad either. This is consistent to their Bellevue location. The interior decor looked a bit not finished but it did not take much away from the experience. They could use a bit more of something (anything) on the wall though... The food overall was pretty good. None of the dishes were amazing but none of them were bad either. They offer everything from vegan to gluten-free as well as non-alcolic cocktails, wine, and beer. We ordered 2 or 3 of everything you see pictured below. I think we definitely over-ordered. We got to try so many dishes and we all left full. As stated, I consider this venuw a "safe choice" for a group since nothing on the menu is bad and it covers all food restrictions and allergies. My favorites from tonight were the shrimp dish and the short ribs. But I have had better elsewhere. I thought the prices were good for what we got (comparatively) and location is great. This whole area was popping for a random Tuesday dinner time. The venue looks pretty small from the outside but it is deceivingly larger than it may seem. Street parking is available if you look hard enough.

This large modern restaurant is fantastic! The service is great and the drinks are crafted perfectly. My favorite was the smoked old fashioned that was perfectly balanced. They are good for groups and there is a lot of space. They have great food options, though only came for drinks this time. Will be back again.

We ordered way too much, but everything was five stars. The fried sage on top of the ravioli was the star of the show while it was really simple. It was absolutely delicious. And we both picked out the sage leaves. The dates on the the hallumi were just right, and my companion picked those out We probably could abused the whole plate more of dates. I love going out with this particular companion, she and I are both big foodies and really like the experience of gastro pubs. She said the fries on the moore fruit were perfectly cooked and crispy, and you can really tell how good a restaurant is by the quality of something so simple. Black bottle is dark and intimate and we got a corner table. So that we could quietly talk and enjoy one another's company. It's a perfect place for a quiet dinner for two or a big party. The food comes out well timed and you're left alone or with as much attention as you need. Definitely, give it a try if you've never been there.

Good food and service, but portion sizes were slightly small. Would definitely come back for drink as the vibes inside were very good!

Went here with a group and we got a bunch of things to share! ---- Overall, I'd give it a 7/10, nothing too amazing, but good food overall! Cute place, the outside is a 5/10 though.

Ok I have since tried the food and now this place is 6/5!! We usually stop by for happy hour for a nice cocktail at the bar and never tried the food since it seemed a little out of reach for our budget, but we thought wth we'll send for my b day. Turns out the food has some pretty good options for many diff price ranges. We ended up getting a flat bread and pork belly plate. Both were so magnificently delicious, and I think very reasonably priced for their taste and beautiful display. Always love the cozy intimate candlelit vibe in here. Definitely a place to take a date. Also have had this bartender/server twice and he's such a jolly good fellow. A+ for service :)

What an experience! Amazing food, chill atmosphere, attentive service. All sauces were perfect, thick, no broken sauces. Best "Gambas al Ajillo" I think I have ever had. Escargot on point. We will be back regularly.

We had dinner here recently after awhile and we loved our dinner. We love the ambiance and the service was great. We got Squeaky Halloumi cheese sautéed, Chole Bhature eggplant potato chickpeas hot serrano, and Brazilian chicken thighs. We loved the combination of Halloumi cheese, date, onion, mushroom, this is a great addition to their menu. We loved the Brazilian chicken thighs, the fried plantains that came with it were great too. I didn't like the Chole Bhature but my husband loved it.

Been on my list of places to visit for a while. It didn't completely disappoint. But dang, sort of a let down. Came with a colleague. Came on a Wednesday night around 7pm. We were in the back room and had it basically too ourselves. It was low lighting in the back and intimate. Tables weren't too close together so I imagine you could have private conversations. The menu was complex. Seemed like every option was going to be great. We ordered the delicata squash & hazelnut ravioli ($19), smoked tea-brined duck breast with port cranberries ($27), and kefte lamb meatballs mezze plate ($23). The ravioli was superb. I throughly enjoyed that plate. Everything else fell flat for me. It was good. But it just wasn't spectacular or stood out for me. The duck was a little dry but I love duck, so I enjoyed it anyways. The plates were a little bigger than Tapas size. I washed that down with a Slow Magic cocktail which I'd give 4 stars out of 5. It'd be hard to find better cocktails in the area and for the price. It's about 12 dollars per cocktail. It's in Belltown, and parking was pretty tough. So be prepared to be frustrated and ultimately walk a bit. The service was great. Part of the reason why it got a 4 star review. Was able to order in Spanish with my waiter. Check easily came out to $100+. Food and drink might be a 3.5 but the service and ambiance solidifies this place as a 4 star.

Beautiful hidden gem in Belltown with great happy hour deals from 4-6! The house wine was only $6 and also loved the gilded julep cocktail. The crispy fries with aioli and cheesy bean dip nachos were also so well made (although portions were a bit small). Same goes for the pear and smoked chicken flatbreads - flavor combos were bold and bread was so fluffy, but only 6 slices.

Was here to celebrate my birthday . It's a nice ambience with several veggie options too. My fav was the kolkota cauliflower and the squash ravioli. Service was super quick and warm. We had a really good time and I especially love that it's the kind of place people dress up to visit.

Great spot for happy hour, or meeting up for drinks! We had a group of 5 and were seated right away. At 5:30, there weren't many people there. So drinks and food came quickly. Later into the night it started to fill up! I really enjoyed my sweater weather cocktail. We tried the cauliflower fritters, the cocktail fries (only available during happy hour) the shishito peppers, and the delicata ravioli. There was no squash in our ravioli, but was still good! We were bummed that the fries are happy hour only. Would definitely come back!

We went later in the evening so it wasn't as lively but I'm sure it would have a really fun vibe filled with people. The servers were nice but maybe not the most attentive. Again, end of the night, I can understand them being tired. Now the most important part, the food, was amazing! I believe there was one guy cooking all by himself and he did a fantastic job! We got the popcorn cod as a starter which was so fun and inventive. Think crispy fried chicken bites but with fish. So yummy! For our mains, we shared a grilled skewer of pork belly with applesauce, a skewer of grilled shrimp, and a life changing grilled cheese made with goat cheese and lingonberry jam! The flavors complimented each other so well and it was just melt in your mouth perfection! I want another just writing this. We also got a flight of their meads which was lovely! The next time we come up to Seattle, we definitely want to coincide with one of their events! We just missed the cheese and pickle pairing class which would've been fun. Overall, such a unique space and restaurant idea. I wish more places were this creative. Definitely come here with a group so you can do family style. So many yummy bites to try. As for us, we were eyeing their huge pretzel with beer cheese. That'll be on our next trip.

Had a wagyu patty and it was a flavorless hokey puck -- super overcooked and dry. Mashed potatoes were good but barely warm, veg was overcooked and very salty. No two bite check. Never got the side sauce requested. Needed protein so ate the meat. Let our server know it wasn't great but insisted on no discount -- we ate it so we're happy to pay for it. Honestly, I have never been to a city where the bad restaurants and bars cosplay so well. Fortunately, this bar is actually really really good. Their happy hour is an infuriatingly tiny window (4-5p), but really really good. 50 percent off of every drink, and 25 percent off all food. We had some of the best truffle parmesan fries I have ever had here. It came with a black garlic aioli that was also incredibly good and left a really strong impression. We got 8 different drinks, if you include a 3-amaro flight, and all of them were storied, complex, herbaceous and delicious. They printed out cute little descriptions with lots of great context too. That flight was $21 pre tax tip and also pre the 50 percent off happy hour. It was one of the best flights I have ever had. They have a section for amaro-based drinks. We tried two of them and they were stellar. We also got 2 non-alcoholic (N/A) drinks that were both some combo of delicious, complex, and refreshing In a sea of middling bars with $22 drinks, herb and bitters stands out. Their patio space with a clear roof feels like a lovely sun room with lots of christmasy trees. The menus are printed in these cute little kids books. This place is stellar, and you should definitely go. Please keep them in business. In short, a stellar list of cocktails, N/A options, a great (even if short) happy hour and a wonderful place for amaro nerds with some shockingly delicious fries.
