Had a shockingly expensive and extremely underwhelming visit recently. Service was slow but there were a number of events in the area, so this wasn't unexpected. What was unexpected was the serving size of the $12 "caprese salad." Three thin slices of mozzarella and three cherry tomatoes split in half. Cherry tomatoes. Obviously, this is adjacent to the hotel, and its selection of brews and food was adequate. But, it needs to be adequately staffed - not fair to have one harried person literally doing everything necessary, including coordinating with the nearby breakfast/coffee bar. You order your food from the bar and they bring it to you. I decided to order the combo pizza and it was piping hot and delish! Of course with 8 slices, I managed to eat 3 in one sitting and 1 the next night and brought the rest home. My friends and I came here before a Seattle Kraken game. It is across the street from the main parking garage and is a short walk to the Stadium. Bartender was very attentive and wanted to make sure we were good. My friends got wine and I ordered a cocktail. Drinks and food came out quickly. I used to live in the area, so this wasn't my first time here. I have always had good service here. Pizza is yummy and I love the atmosphere. The hotel is connected to the restaurant and it looks very hip and stylish. The restaurant is very Art Deco with lots of colors, but with the food, drinks and decor! When it's time to pay the bill they ask you what room to put it on. The restaurant is at the same location as the old "The Rock" - which was a rock-music themed burger place. Pineapple Bistro is an improvement. The place was uncrowded on a Friday evening. On all the tables and on the menu, it says to order at the bar and they'll bring the food to you. But this must be only at certain times since our helpful server Wendie was taking orders at everyone's tables. Speaking of tables, there's a cool - and large - amethyst table in the center of the space. Was it channeling cosmic crystal vibes? I don't know. Anyway, the food we ordered was YUM and it came out quickly. We had the half-pound burger (+ white Tillamook cheddar of course) - the photos make it look small: it was not small. As a side you get the option of tots, so that was a GO. We also had the 'Bistro Club' - which was excellent too: chicken, romaine, same cheddar, on perfectly toasted sourdough. Side salad came with a nice citrus dressing. They also have some clever cocktails. I only wish the menu was bigger! But if we're on the way to some Seattle Center activity, we're happy to hit up Pineapple Bistro again. read more

The waitress and the vibe were awesome , but I got a lemon drop for 14.00 and not only was it the tiniest thing , but it had no sugar on the rim and it was a mix, not fresh lemon juice . Our neighbors got the pizza and it was very average and they left most of it . Their pizza is so good! They have cool drinks like one that can be set on fire. The hotel looks very nice too, and they wash all of the bedding. They donate proceeds from the stuffed animal sales, and have bikes available for hotel guests. The staff is very nice as well! Parking can be rough. But that is understandable in downtown Seattle and it is a good walking distance from so many landmarks and cool things. read more

Pineapple Bistro is a light, casual restaurant in the Maxwell Hotel near to the Mercer arts district (McCaw Hall, Seattle Rep, Cornish Playhouse, ...). We often eat in this area but hadn't tried the Pineapple bistro until recently. The menu is very small, with only a few appetizers, sandwiches, salads and pizzas. There was barely enough selection for us to go once, let alone return more often. Costs are pretty reasonable. Service was bad, but only due to understaffing. Both of the servers were working super-hard and polite when we saw them, but that was nowhere near often enough. Food quality was bland and not good. Nothing we had was good, everything was just barely OK. My teriyaki wings were lacking in flavour. My club sandwich wasn't toasted and lacked flavour. My wife felt similarly about her food. We ordered appetizers and main courses and even said "I will start with" when ordering, and yet the main courses turned up first. Despite being near theatre, the restaurant doesn't take reservations. Which makes it harder to go here on a night when you need to eat at a specific time. There's nothing terrible about Pineapple, but there is simply no reason to ever come here unless everything else is full. Right next door is McMenamins, which is a similar menu but just better in every way (even though they too don't take reservations) and down the street are several other places that are better (except for Cairde, of course, see my review). Not at all recommended. Try somewhere else. read more

Snazzy, colorful, fun, sleek, and modern. The pineapple bistro & bar is definitely a place to stop by after work, on a date, or to catch up with good friends. It's an easy to access and find bar on the main lobby of the Maxwell Hotel with plenty of street and garage parking. The staff are very casual, open, and welcome. And the bartenders are swift and professional. They have a great selection of unique cocktails all with many pineapple themed bases. What I love about the drinks is that you can taste a hint of the alcohol with compliments the other flavors. So the alcohol isn't completely masked and it also isn't completely saturated with just the hard alcohol. I prefer this style in cocktail because it allows me to appreciate the well drink and it lets me know that I'm getting my bang for the buck on the drink than a sprinkle of alcohol that doesn't get me anything. You can tell right away that this place puts the customer and guests first because there were complimentary cupcakes for the guests in the lobby! How many places give you complimentary cupcakes? You will without a doubt fall in love with this places quirky design and edgy out of the box pineapple aesthetics. We came to the restaurant/bar before we had a show at the McCaw hall and were extremely disappointed. All of the reviews online were great and the menu looked delicious, but it was far from that in our experience. Our server was very rude and did not give us the time of day! When we asked if they could make a different kind of cocktail that was not on the menu she shut us down (it was an espresso martini) and then she asked us if we would be on one check or separate, when we asked if we could be separate (a party of 3) she said "no you guys can use venmo or cash app and figure it out amongst one another". Our salads that we ordered came out with the wrong ingredients and our friend who ordered a pizza got a cold pizza 30 minutes after our salads came out. Service was incredibly slow to the point that we watched 4 other tables get up and leave after ordering their drinks because they were waiting for so long! Overall, I will not be coming back here. The ambiance is adorable and and I wish the service was different but rude servers on top of bad food and drinks? Not my cup of tea. Definitely not worth spending $100 on a crappy meal and rude service. Don't recommend. read more

Thought about leaving two stars, but, just couldn't do it. We went there last night before the ballet, as all other places were unusually jammed. We initially were a bit turned off on the brightness of the place. Felt more like a cafeteria than a bistro/bar, but beggars can't be choosers... Just wanted a quick bite and a beer- our expectations were simple. Started with ordering a beer and a coke- the beer arrived in a plastic glass because they were out of glasses. (really? at 5:30pm?) The coke came in a glass akin to a small juice glass. Again, glass shortage. Okay, we dealt. Then we ordered the food; asked for Caesar salad (which touted homemade croutons) and a pizza. They said they were out of pizza dough so the pizza's were 86'd. (the main attraction on their menu as far as I could tell). With nothing else looking very appetizing we ordered the pork nachos and the caesar. The nachos came- smothered in that fake cheese that you get at ball games or 7-11 counter. It had pork on it that tasted a few days (Im being kind) past its expiration date, AND, it was cooler than room temperature and actually refrigerator cold in some spots. No salsa, no sour cream, just cold chips, fake cheese and bad pork. The caesar, while edible, was drowned in (store-bought?) dressing and the croutons, well, I've bought the same ones at Cash-n-Carry. Not bad, but I'd bet my cold nachos on it that they were not home made. Found out that other than the ballet, there were several plays and Jane's Addiction was playing at the Climate Pledge. Okay, but don't restaurants look at what's going on and staff/prepare/supply accordingly? Like I said, we were not expecting anything epic, but I was hoping given the location and the crowd for a better experience. One positive note, although way understaffed, our waiter, when he could get to us, was very nice. read more

Ordered room service which came extremely late due to a miscommunication, and they had to call back to confirm if I wanted gin or vodka in my martini when I had asked for a traditional martini, and the drink came watered down with a bunch of soda in a iced coffee plastic cup with lid. As bartenders go, Amy is by far the worst, apparently she does not like interracial couples because she was rude when she first encountered us. My husband was looking at the menu for the bar and she told us rudely that the kitchen was closed. First, she didn't know what we were looking at, then when we finally got her to take our drink order instead of making our drinks she walked to the back of the bar, helped some other people, cleaned some trash, then looked at us. Then before making our drinks she carded us and we are both over 30. Then was butt hurt and went to talk to her coworker with short red hair in the back. We know they were talking about us because the coworker looked this way. She then tries to justify her actions by saying she was multi-tasking, however I'm a teacher and I know what true multi-tasking is. I will never buy anything from her again!
