Fun times are to be had at Underbelly! I've been wanting to check out this underground bar before it was featured on Love is Blind Seattle, and we finally did after the Seahawks parade (Go Hawks!). Love the vibes here. Since the whole city and beyond was celebrating the Seahawks, everyone was partying, especially around Pioneer Square, including at Underbelly. Because of so, they had event specials with discounted taps, featured cocktails and a pizza special for grub. You order at the bar, pick a seat, drink and have fun. My friends and I had a few beers here and ended up leaving when the sun went down. Music was blasting, everyone was chanting SEA-HAWKS!, and the staff was super friendly. PLUS, they allow dogs here. I also dig the prohibition-era vibes here, paying homage to Seattle's underground days. If you're in Pioneer Square and need a drink or three, Underbelly is a fun spot for that. Such a cute little hidden dive bar in the heart of Seattle! Best part is they are open until midnight when all the bars across the street close at 10! Whack! We stopped in after the other bars were closing and decided to give it a try! We are so glad we did! Our bar tender was super chill and it was super cool of him to go off the books when it came to drink making! I wasn't feeling so great and asked for a hot toddy and he hookkkkkeeedd it upppppp! He originally didn't think he had all the makings for it but he totally worked it out and made one of the best ones I've ever had! Shout out to him! I had fun meeting a friend here before a show. Underbelly is aptly named as it is partially below ground. Pop down some stairs into the purple-ish vibey atmosphere. I liked the unexpected addition of a large flat screen tv playing Archer on the wall. The place wasn't really small or big. At 8:30pm on a Saturday there was room to sit at the bar, and it started to fill up a bit as time passed. An aroma of delicious pizza filled the air and the person next to me said it was good. They had some interesting sounding signature drink options as well as many classics, all between about $14-18. I don't usually like really fruity drinks, but a splash can make a good addition, so I took a chance on one whiskey cocktail with Campari and a splash of mango, and another whiskey cocktail with fernet and pineapple liqueur. They were excellent, literally just a splash of fruit, so they remained liquor forward, and quite strong as well! I would say the service was mannerly and quick. They also have a stage, and someone was there either having some sort of stop-and-go performance or just prepping for a later start. I could easily imagine nursing a drink alone here, or better yet, catching up with friends with these great drinks, the dim lit vibe, and some mesmerizing live tunes. read more

We popped in during the Lunar New Year festival when we were trying to escape the rain. It's a great spot in the "underground" section of Pioneer Square. The bartenders are friendly and made us great drinks. They have classic movies playing on the projector. We didn't catch any live music while we were there but they have it other days. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here on a Sunday night. It was so chill, and although empty at first, the later it got, it started to fill up, and regardless of whether there were two people or twenty, the service was amazing. This place had such a chill vibe; most people minded their business, and I really liked the fun, relaxing atmosphere. Most people at the bar were easily interacting, while others stayed with their group; you didn't get a pretentious vibe here, and that was impressive for bars that look like this and so close to the historic Pioneer Square. A moment that stood out to us was when a local bar owner who was visiting (and friends with the Underbelly owners) decided to challenge one of the bartenders to a game of chess; it was hilarious watching this because he was so obviously tipsy yet determined, where else would you witness this?! :) We easily connected with the bartenders; they were so friendly and tried to chat with each person at the bar. They didn't have that air of arrogance you find in the city so often. One of the bartenders gave us a brief rundown of the place and mentioned the bar inhabits the old bank, which, if you do the Underground tour, you walk through in the original part of old Seattle. He also mentioned Underbelly is family-owned but relatively new within the last five years (if I remember correctly). FYI, the menus currently on Yelp are outdated, so I uploaded new menus for now as they're not currently providing happy hour. I recommend this place for friend groups, dates, or casual drinking. It's a nice aesthetic inside that can create a vibe, depending on what you're going for. We'll be back for some of the live music, which is featured on their IG. read more

My friends and I went here for the pioneer square art walk today and I was going to get a wine but I saw the way the bartender was stirring the cocktail for the person ahead of me so I got the UB Daquiri and it was chefs kiss delicious and the pepperoni pizza and that was also delicious and both were on happy hour. We came here after the mariners game and we were the first ones there so it was empty. The bartender was very friendly and even played some songs by request. The place has a stage and just the other day they had a cabaret show so I can imagine how different this place is for events. Great flavor and bringing some new twists to the taco world. (It's not the usual taco truck taco.) l don't get me wrong- those are fabulous too. Dualidad is pushing the boundaries but in a delicious and fun way.) Great service! What a nice surprise! Everytime I went to Deadline or Damn the weather I've noticed this place from the other side but never checked. It has a dive bar vibe from the outside. So we only went there because the Valtesse production was presenting Red Lights Nights and I'm pretty impressed. Underbelly is a fantastic cocktail/mixology lounge in the Pioneer Square neighborhood, but within an easy walk from the stadiums. At first impression, Underbelly has that Pioneer Square dive bar vibe until you look up at eye their booze collection. It is top shelf and high end. Dahlia, a brand name, took care of us, and he was great. My cocktail arrived in crystal a cut glass and the vodka from Poland was as smooth as a bald man's scalp. There were so many choices of liquor, I thought I was in Portland at one of their acclaimed whiskey bars. Amazing cocktails! They're downstairs off 1st Ave, and I never really thought to go here pre-pandemic.
