It's located across the street from the Pike's Place Public Market, and is a two story tap room, so depending on how you end up there, you might stumble in at the entrance below street level, or the street level entrance. I stumbled in from below street level and found plenty of seating, but no bar at which to order. Never fear my fellow Yelpers, I can walk you through this. Look for the stairs and head up to street level, and you'll find a small bar to order your draft or canned beers from. They have 12 beers on tap and a couple of dozen canned beers. The sign out front touted "over 50 beers" but it looked more like a couple of dozen to me. This is NOT a brewery, so don't expect any of their own brews. However, they carry mostly local and regional brews, so hats off to them for that. Prices - it's in a major tourist area, so the pints are pricey. I had a Hellbent Triple Berry Wheat for $7.50 and the Elysian Men's Room Red Ale (that one was at least $6 but it might have been more, I don't recall). The place seems like a cool place to hangout. Rustic decor with lots of wood and even wooden table tops propped on top of wooden whiskey barrels. Below street level, they have a small patio that fits about three tables. They sell growlers and also refill them here. It's A-OK, I was just looking for a wider selection of draft beers instead of canned selections. Went here on a hot day and my bf and I order a flight each and my gf ordered a glass of her usual beer. I'm not really a beer person so I ordered cider flight instead. He had me try a cider but didn't like it as it was very sour. So he gave me the Black currant one. We got our orders and walked downstairs to sit ourselves. It's first come first serve basis. We sat on a high rounded table and just chilled till we finished our drinks. My favorite from my flight was the Pineapple Passion fruit. It really does taste like Pineapple then my second would be the Semi Sweet. This one has a hint of apple juice flavor to it. I really didn't like the Black currant because it was still sour. My bf and my gf told me to ask if the bartender can switch it to the Pineapple one and I was so embarrassed to ask that I told my them that "it's OK. I think I like it now." I mean I tried so hard to like it but my taste buds was just not having it. They were very insistent that I should try to get it switch and it took them a good 5 mins of convincing before I went upstairs with my gf to ask nicely if I could have it switched to the Pineapple Passion fruit 0because the one the bartender recommended was just too sour for me still. The bartender was soo nice and just took the glass from me and gave me a Pineapple Passion fruit flight glass. I was soo embarrassed. I smiled at him and thank him and just walked away. Lol I'm not sure if people usually do this or if that's even normal. I was just ready to down the Black currant if I had to lol but I did enjoy that last flight glass more than I should have if I stuck to the Black currant. Lol Overall, I would recommend this place. We visited from San Diego, CA and my bf and I like this place a lot. I mean what else can u ask for? My friend and I were looking to find a local brewery to go to after walking around the Pike Place area and everything was essentially closed. Seattle Beer Co. was open, had great safety measures (hand sanitizer, spaced out seating indoors, and a small outdoor patio), and excellent service. It was a wonderful space to feel a sense of 'normal' again without fearing for my health and safety. The beer selection is wonderful - especially for me, a LA-based native, to try a wide array of Washington beers. They were serving flights and pints of all the fantastic beer options. BLUF: A great local stop for some unbeerlievable selections of craft brews! This chic bar was a great stop for my little trip in Seattle. They had a great selection of local craft brews and an array of apparel from hats to shirts that one can purchase. The bartenders are warm and approachable; they can help you select anything from good IPAs to hefes to whatever your heart may ale. I ended up getting a flight of beers to try all the best brews that Seattle had to offer. Honestly, they all tasted delicious...one particular one I remember was the grapefruit IPA. Unless you have one particular beer in mind, the flight is a great option to mix/match or even share with other people (I personally like having my own, but you can have a sip haha) I'll be back again before heading out of the Seattle area..definitely will be dropping by more if I move up here! read more

Walking around aimlessly Downtown and happened upon passing this spot a few times. After a fish and chips lunch, this seemed like a good idea. I went with the economical $8 flights (3 beers to choose from). I did the Blonde, Coffee stout, and a sour. All were nice and cold and pretty much tasted like a quality beer. The interior has two levels and two entrances, however, to purchase beer you'll need to go to the top level. Pretty good and spacious on the inside with some TV's running sports. After a day of cross-country flying, we really needed a beer that evening so we decided to go to the Seattle Beer Company. It was a rainy, Thursday night in November and this seemed like the perfect spot. There was an event hosted by Georgetown Brewing Company at the time. They were offering a flight, consisting of 3 Georgetown beers. We each ordered the flight and a pretzel. All of the beers were great, but I especially loved the Johnny Utah IPA. It was hoppy and refreshing - just what I needed after a long day. Georgetown also gave us a glass each to take home since we ordered their flight. Considering that my boyfriend is a bit of a beer aficionado and that we were in town on a rare 90 degree Seattle day, the Seattle Beer Co. beckoned to us like a mirage on our way from the waterfront to Pike Place Market. We desperately needed something cold to drink and I was pleased to see that they had two ciders on the menu in addition to all their Seattle-based beer. I sampled both ciders and found them each to be refreshing. It was a coin toss between the two and I couldn't pick a favorite so I had the bartender chose one for me. My boyfriend tried a flight of three beers, an IPA, a double IPA and a stout. Oddly, despite being a lover of IPAs, he preferred the stout. A couple things off the bat. First, this is not a brewery. They do not brew their own beer. They're a tap room, with about a dozen lines and a couple dozen others in cans. Really good mix of local and regional stuff, including hard ciders, and one of the few places I went to in Seattle that had more than one token sour on tap. Second, this place can be very hard to find. I was at Pike Place Market and could not follow my Google Maps as it showed me how to get down to the lower street level behind the market. Eventually I made it by taking a set of stairs that seemed to materialize out of nowhere. Third, if you can't handle stairs this may not be the place for you, especially if you can't handle them while holding a beer and/or while buzzing from consuming previous beers. The taps are on the upper floor, which has minimal seating. Most of the tables are down a pretty steep flight of stairs, and there's no waitress service, so you're walking up and down the stairs quite a bit. Fourth, it being what it is and where it is, their prices are a little steep. Everything appeared to be $1-$3 more than what an average craft beer other places in Seattle would cost. I'd imagine the location so close to the market and the waterfront had a lot to do with that. Lastly, their selection was terrific. And that's what I cared about most. The difficulty finding the taproom, the stairs and the prices were worth it. I knocked out some pretty hard-to-find stuff. And while I was there they were training two brand new employees on their first day. They all just seemed to really like craft beer, so when you're there drinking, you're among your kind. They're knowledgeable and enthusiastic about craft. The place in general was a really cool hangout spot. Go during off times if you can because I would imagine a lot of people agree and pack the place routinely. I went on a Wednesday evening and had no problems at all. read more

I thought that this may have been a new brewery as well since Yelp has this place a category with "brewery" in it but they do not brew their own beer here. They only carry guest taps. The place is wide and roomy and has an upper floor and a lower floor. When I was here it was not busy at all so that was nice. The beer selection is wide and plenty to pick from.
