also skeptical of a fusion/fine dining when it's a cuisine that I appreciate for its authenticity but this was truly an incredible meal!! the food and drinks were all amazing - they brought the authenticity of vietnamese cuisine to life with this fusion. it was also a great place for a celebratory meal!
Came here for happy hour! Good deals, though did feel like it was a bit overhyped. Feels like the food was solid but price point was a bit high. Good vibes too though and pleasant service.
We went here for brunch. The food was okay...they have a unique and inventive spin on Vietnamese cuisine. However, the dishes seem to miss the mark. We got the Bo Ne with the New York strip, which was like a deconstructed Banh Mi. But the steak was super salty. The Shrimp Benedict was fine. Something about the fish cake and the beurre blanc sauce together was mushy, so for me, I didn't like the texture. We however enjoyed the Banh Bao Chien, a crunchy, savory app! The coffee drinks were delightful! And the kouign-amann was one of the best we've had. So there were some hits and misses. The service started off great, however, the server disappeared on us mid-meal and was hard to get refills on water and any sort of service towards the end. That put a bitter taste in our mouths. So, not sure if we'll be back
Dinner from Nov 23, 2025. Menu is subject to change. Prices updated if dish is currently offered. Ramie is a re-imagined, elevated Vietnamese restaurant in Capitol Hill, at the same location that was Omega Ouzeri (RIP). The restaurant is remodeled worthy of a date night. As much as I love pho, bun, and Vietnamese street foods, I appreciate trying a different take of a cuisine that is vibrant with flavors. They operate as sampling plate sizes and suggest four to five items to share. We went for broke and ordered six. Some of their dishes are incredible home-runs while others are perhaps second or third base. Overall, these are creative and excellent efforts, and kudos to a well-trained staff with explanations and identifying their popular dishes. They also have a chef's tasting menu that is worth considering. The Food: Duck Custard, $14 - 5+ Stars Menu: egg custard, duck ragout, rau ram oil, rau ram, house seasoning This is a top-notch worthy dish that every table should order and, in fact, looks like they all did. Highly recommend. Scallop with salted egg yolk sauce, $15 - 3 Stars The salted egg yolk sauce is light in flavor while the scallop was overcooked. Good intentions, insufficiently executed. Hamachi Crudo, $27 - 5 Stars Thick cuts of hamachi are paired with crispy garlic, pickled veggies, herb oil, and sherbet, the last component being a surprising complement that worked superbly well. Highly recommend. Coffee rubbed pork ribs, $24 - 4 Stars We thought these ribs could use more coffee flavor. Nonetheless, they have an excellent umami flavor, are tender, with meat falling off the bones. I do recommend this. Pork Shank Ragu, $43 - 3.5 Stars One of their signature entrees. The meat is flavorful though oddly beefy. We both thought it is a touch salty. We opted not to finish. Anchovy Butter Noodles, $22 - 3.5 Stars Housemade noodles with an immensely rich sauce that tasted fantastic for the first few bites, then the dish started to taste salty. We opted to stop eating these noodles and the pork shank after 40% and brought the rest home to be 'modified'. The leftovers turned out very well. Hehe. Every table was also gifted a small bite of chef's special on bread.
Went during brunch time. Favorite dish was the Salmon Croque Madam. It was a banh mi sandwich with salmon flakes(?) topped off with an egg with a side of arugula. Easy to eat and flavorful on its own but dipping it with Chinsu added spice and more flavor. Bot Chien had a crisp to it and egg was cooked well. You have to dip it in the fish sauce or else there is no flavor. Just something minor but I wish the pickled veggies were more separated. It had the cut lines but not fully cut so you had to separate it yourself. The com tam was alright. All of the components you would usually get for a broken rice dish. The meatloaf was really good. The pork on the other hand was a bit too salty for my liking. And you only get one thin piece... soup on the side was good and was a good way to cleanse the palette. Overall good modern/fancy spin on Vietnamese food but overpriced. Would probably be nice to go during dinner time for some drinks as the ambience seemed better for night time. Good amount of seating. Street parking around the area was easy to find.
I took my mom here for a little family lunch, which we don't get to do often. Since she's mostly only familiar with Vietnamese food, I wanted to bring her somewhere a bit different but still approachable. Overall, everything we tried was good and we enjoyed the meal. The flavors were solid and the experience was nice for a casual lunch together. The only thing I'm a bit unsure about is the pricing...specifically the $20 bot chien. It tasted fine, but for what it was, the price felt a little steep. Maybe I just ordered the wrong item or expected something a bit more elevated for the cost. Other than that, it was a good experience and I'm glad I got to bring my mom here and try something new with her.
We came for brunch on a Sunday because my friends wouldn't stop raving about their dinner. So this current rating is for the brunch menu, but I will be back to try the dinner menu in the future. All the dishes were presented nicely. I had the croque madam and it was just ok. The bread was a bit on the dry side and there wasn't much salmon in it. I love the concept though. Everything else was just ok as well but the pastries and drinks were good. I probably wouldn't come back for the brunch but I would for a pastry and a cup of coffee. Street parking only in this part of town but we found a spot pretty quickly.
Loved the concept of the menu and the restaurant. I've never had upscale Vietnamese food since I just eat whatever is at home. My first experience was very good! The balut was my favorite dish here. I could probably eat like 10 of those. It tasted like a rich soft scrambled balut. I was very impressed! My 2nd favorite dish was the tofu eggplant. Flavors weren't too overpowering and the potato chips added a nice texture to the dish. Our server was very attentive and accommodated whatever we needed. I love the ambiance of this restaurant.
The highlights of this meal where the palm poppy as well as a salted coffee!! I would go back for the coffee! Our server was amazing and so helpful! This was a relatively busy brunch spot, it was lively! Overall, our mains were okay, not to our taste.
Wanted to love this place but something fell short for their brunch meal. The food was just average to me. The flavors were there, but there wasn't anything in any of the dishes that wowed me. It felt like there could've been more to the dishes or something that makes them more unique than any other place selling Vietnamese brunch. Overall it was lacking something.. When I eat a banh mi chao, I want all of the items on the plate to be harmonious to each other. I want to be able to put combine different parts of the plate onto that piece of banh mi to make a perfect bite. While each part tasted well on its own, combining everything felt like it was too much and didn't complement each other at all. The pate and the cheese were too salty when I tried to eat them together or with the xiu mai. I also wish there was more sauce. The pastries were good. I liked the strawberry and cream croissant. The pate chaud meat filling had good flavor (though it kind of tasted like the xiu mai but without the tomato), but the pastry itself was a little bit wet at the bottom and I couldn't tell if it was from the meat or if the dough was slightly undercooked. I felt that the portions were a bit small for the price point. The food here was good, but it didn't feel like there was anything very refined or different about the dishes that would warrant a higher price. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we came, but the service was still a bit slow. It took longer for us to get our server's attention when the rest of our party had arrived and wanted to order. I was also surprised at how long it took for my Vietnamese iced coffee to come out. Maybe I'll have to come back and try their dinner menu to see if it is better. I do love the idea of a more upscale/elevated Vietnamese restaurant, as I truly believe that the cuisine can break through the idea that the food has to be cheap, so I'm hoping that Ramie can evolve.
We came to Ramie after meeting the owner at a different restaurant they own in Poulsbo. We decided to go to the Saturday brunch. We parked in front of the restaurant on Capitol Hill. Be aware that parking can get crowded. I believe they also have validated parking. We tried a couple of the pastries to begin with. The breakfast croissant was awesome with shaved pork and thinly sliced radish. I think it was the Ăn Sang Croissant. We also had Pho Tron Bo and Com Tam entrees. Both were excellent. All of the foods had a unique Vietnamese flavor and style to them while being different than anything we've ever had before. Two excellent Americanos topped off the meal. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself was chic and inviting. You can make reservations to avoid having to wait. Going to try their Bainbridge Island location next!
Such a unique restaurant! As a Vietnamese person, it was so exciting to experience flavors that I grew up with but in completely unexpected/new ways. What I loved: oysters on a half shell, mi muoi tieu, goi ca, bo la lot, che banh lot What was worth trying: hot vit lon (I know that this is a fan favorite but I strongly prefer traditional hot vit lon), che thai (also a fan favorite. I just don't like the dessert it's inspired by so that's completely a me thing), suon heo nuong, ca phe muoi What I could've passed on: banh cuon, nam chien nuoc mam, cha ca la vong chien There was nothing that I disliked, but more so dishes that just weren't memorable. All of this food was also for a party of eight which they did a wonderful job accommodating. I'm hoping to revisit when the menu is rotated!
Ramie is a stunningly gorgeous restaurant that has earned all of its accolades. The service is courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. I was 30 minutes late to my reservation due to a crash on I-5 and called to let the restaurant know. When I arrived, the staff even asked me if I was ok! The menu is innovative and still tastes like comfort food. The presentation is top notch as you can tell by the pictures. I'm looking forward to visiting with a larger group so we can order the whole menu
Service is nice. Restaurant is clean. Good location for business. This is an INSPIRED Viet food restaurent. If you want to try different Vietnamese dishes that are not in the typical Viet restaurants in the US, sure do this, because i can see it would be a new food journey for you. I like that Vietnamese foods are being elevated and advertised in a fancy way. If you expect to be full or good mom homecook or authentic streetfood, I think its better to choose different place. Food are ok, not a wow, portions are small. Good to experience once. read more
Had came on my birthday, and gotten an assortment of thing, everything was pretty good. Although some things were small portions. I was a big fan of the rice noodle, egg custard, beef tartare. The biggest portion that is worth your money was ribs. Service was good! Parking might be limited because of street parking. read more

First time I've ever had vietnamese fine dining. It was great! The servers were super friendly and explained all of their dishes. The restaurant had a nice vibe and lots of space, I think there was an upstairs area but it wasn't open when I went. Food wise, I loved the shrimp paste rice rolls, those had the most impactful flavour of the night. The duck egg served in the shell was an interesting dish, though it was quite small. The pork floss crispy rice pancake was full of umami from the pork and the rice was really very crispy, maybe even a little too crisp. The branzino was maybe overcooked for my taste, but the charred flavour paired well with the sides that it came with, especially the onsen egg. Overall, would come here again, I'd be interested in trying their duck next time. read more

Everything was delicious and service was wonderful. The hand made noodles in rich anchovy butter sauce - this was my favorite! Hope to go to their brunch soon! Highly recommend them! Nice ambiance too! Good date spot but also be there with a big group to share read more
One of the bestttt best meals I've had in Seattle - and not an exaggeration either! Granted, my sample size is from my visits every few months. But that doesn't take away from how blown away we were with the food, drinks, service, ambiance and the whole experience we had here. It was hard to pick a favorite out of everything we tried, but the hollow bread with butter was SO GOOD and the branzino really sealed the deal and stole the show for us. Both were reminiscent of meals I've had with my family or with relatives in Asia even as someone with a non-viet background, but really just elevated and made into their own. It gave the whole meal a family-style feel and really just brought a level of comfortability into a sit down restaurant experience. The drinks were great too, couldn't go wrong with the options, just noted that they weren't as sweet as other restaurant drinks I've had. Altogether such a great experience, worth a try for a special treat and I was already looking forward to being able to try a different seasonal menu here next time I visit! read more
I've dined at Ba Sa on Bainbridge Island three times before, and with all the recent press on Ramie, I was looking forward to another innovative culinary experience. I secured a solo reservation via Tock for its grand opening on 5/22/24. I gave myself plenty of time driving from Shoreline to Capitol Hill due to traffic and to find street parking. Just an fyi - 75 minutes and 90 minute street parking for $8 two blocks away. Once I was able to open the heavy front door on that blustery evening, I was warmly greeted and seated at a nice two top where I was able to take in views of the main dining room, vast bar, and open kitchen. There's also second floor mezzanine for additional seating. High ceilings and windows allowed natural light to contrast against the modern aesthetic Ramie created at the site of the former Omega Ouzeri. The bright arrangement of orchids by the reception stand was beautiful. I was given the choice of water while perusing the beverage and food menus. My waitperson also was very polished and offered to go through the menu and answer any questions. I decided to splurge on a cocktail and focused on the fish offerings. *Ngot - Sweetheart ($19) was their spin on an Old Fashioned. Bourbon, Diep Ca demerara, corn liqueur, aromatic & orange bitters, orange peel twist and baby corn. Appreciated its strength and presentation with the large ice cube. *Goi Ca - Hamachi Crudo ($27) Fresh slices of hamachi with stinging nettle oil, thinh, pickled ramps, lime leaf, rau ram, and kumquat nuoc cham sorbet. Loved the seasonal spring ingredients of stinging nettle and ramps! Notable was the thinh (powdered grilled rice paired) with the sorbet and the herby rau ram. Amazing foil with the hamachi. *Ca Nuong - Branzino ($37) Perfectly grilled and topped with scallions and shallots and accompanied with four dipping components. These included an onsen egg with fish sauce, perilla chimichuri, chili sambal, and red pepper cucumber. Standouts for me were the perilla chimichuri and the thinly sliced red pepper cucumber. I appreciated being provided additional flatware with this entree. I had passed on the bread, other apps, and dessert. But I was very satisfied with the choices made, definitely checked the boxes for dazzling flavors and combinations. It was a hefty splurge for just me, total with tax and tip, it was $110. A nice added touch was that one of the owners stopped by my table to inquire about my dining experience. I may have dined solo, but felt well taken care of from start to finish. Definitely a worthy palate pleaser and overall an elevated, approachable dining experience! read more
How many good things can I say?? The appetizers were delicious (I was tempted to order a second bread), the entrees were excellent and beautiful (loved the dipping sauce options that reflected different cultural elements), the dessert was amazing, etc etc The service was wonderful, super attentive and loved chatting with everyone. I was celebrating an occasion and they wrote out Congratulations on my dessert plate! Everyone was beyond sweet and friendly!! Things to expect: they recommend you order 4+ dishes for 2 people (we did the hollow bread, wagyu carpaccio, branzino, and chicken), entrees take 30-40min to prepare, and reservations require $50 deposit (that will later be discounted from your bill) read more

Service - excellent Atmosphere - love that they played current Vietnamese pop music! Price for food was higher than average. But the dining experience was very pleasant thanks to the service and nicely decorated space. We ordered the Banh Tieu and it was $9. I would not say it is worth the price even with the fluffy white cream. If it was much larger banh tieu to share and so large that it's a unique/novelty kind of deal, I might have liked it better. But for the small size and standard tasting banh tieu, it's not worth the price. The fried fish dish had plenty of side dishes to give it flavor but honestly it fell a bit flat. The rice was delicious but not enough to share for 2. We also ordered beef, the fish salad, and well...pretty much all entrees on the menu except for maybe 3 dishes. The fish salad and mushrooms were definitely my favorites. I would come back with friends so they get a taste and but wouldn't be a regular here. read more
Food was so incredibly good. The must orders are the hollow bread, rice roll, and hamachi crudo. Prices are definitely a little more pricier, but you're paying for the quality of the food. The space is pretty large and the service was so friendly. And if you love Basa from Bainbridge, then you'll love the food here since they're from the same owner! read more
The overall experience was okay. The food was good, but for the price I was expecting either bigger portions or more explorative flavors/dishes. We tried pretty much everything on the menu except 3 plates. I'm Vietnamese, so the dishes weren't much different in flavor than what I usually am use to but at a higher price, but the presentation was great. However, the dessert was fantastic. Highlight of the evening for us. The drinks were meh. We are huge craft cocktail drinkers and were pretty disappointed with the drinks we did have, but this could just be subjective to our taste profile. The service was also okay. Nothing special. The ambiance was good. A beautiful place, and nice decor. The bathroom however is on the second floor, and I'm not sure how it is wheelchair accessible. I didn't see an elevator, but it could have been hidden somewhere. Overall, love that a new Vietnamese spot opened up, but the pricing for the portions would be the only reason I would choose another spot to eat, unless I was having a special occasion. read more

I was excited to try out Ramie with some friends during their grand opening. It was an okay experience. I think the owner had a lot of friends dining at the time we went, and they went to the back to turn up the music. This was unexpected and maybe killed the vibe a bit for my friends and I, as we couldn't really hear each other. Hopefully it was just a one time problem! The food was pretty good, but I'd say a little pricey for what you get. I thought the plating was beautiful, the dishes were interesting, but the portion sizes were alright. We got the following dishes: - Banh Tieu (hollow bread): 5/5, this was really good and the butter it comes with is so sweet! Reminds me of sesame balls from dimsum. - Banh Cuon (rice rolls): 5/5, these were TASTY. I could eat these all day, you really taste the tiger shrimp in these - Com Chay (charred rice... pancake?): 3/5, while it looked good and was a cool concept, the dish itself was pretty bland. - Frog Legs: 3/5, not seeing this on the menu anymore so maybe it was limited. Honestly it didn't taste like anything - Ca Chien (branzino): 5/5, this was great because of the variety of sauces it was served with. I liked the fish with the onsen/fish sauce combo the most, but the chimichurri was a close second. read more

My sister took us here for second day of tet for a happy hour dinner. It was her second time and first time for the rest of us and we loved the vibe with the decor and up beat viet music. The food was tasty and service was great. We tried a lot of items on the happy hour menu and I was only able to capture half of it on here since I was too busy chowing down. Also, if you didn't know this is the sister place to the Ba Xa restaurant on Bain Bridge Island. read more

Has anyone tasted their steak and liked it? If so, hope today was just one off day for the chefs... It is my birthday dinner... Had worked hard to get to enjoy my moment with my gf who reserved a table... The steak took 45 minutes... And it was cold. Tasted like it stayed outside for two hours... It was very tough to chew even tho it looked gorgeous. How? I dont usually write reviews but So dissapointed and ruined my bday dinner read more

Came here for a birthday dinner. Remember they need reservations. It was not that busy but a little early. I think the reservations are due to limited staff. The service was really good and the food was excellent but smaller portions. If you're super hungry I would not suggest. If you want unique, quality food I highly recommend. The flavors were a nice mix of Asian with a twist. read more

Wow!!! Great service, food, and atmosphere. Everything we ordered was perfect. We inhaled the coffee drinks, potatoes pave and the savory pastry too fast for photos. The make the pastries in house so ordering one is a must do. We enjoyed our whole experience at Ramie! It was my birthday and they presented me with a card that the staff had signed for me, which was sweet. The menu was innovative and the waiter explained it so well. All of it sounded so good. I wanted to order everything! We loved the soft pillowy bread with the honey butter! The drinks were on point and I highly recommend the old fashioned mushroom drink. We had the steak which was delicious. As well as the hamachi collar. I had never had cooked hamachi before and it was flaky and delicate. The sauce on top was a perfect pairing. read more

Really fun food, service could use some tweaks. They've done a nice job updating the former Omega; we were greeted by a host who spoke so quietly we could barely hear him. Our server then led us through the menu, perhaps too thoroughly, by running down each and every item. It took a long time to get beverages, but they were inventive and tasty once they arrived. We had a variety of dishes and shared everything; the chicken wing with foie gras and caviar was a standout, and the homemade hot sauce was great with the oysters. At the end of the evening, our server was MIA, but otherwise an enjoyable and fun experience. read more
Finally checked off this place from my bucket list. This place was amazing, with stellar service, great ambience, amazing presentation, and much more. While my taste buds aren't used to the way that the food was made compared to your typical Vietnamese cuisine. The food was fun and very interesting. The bread was more oily than I expected however, it was still good especially paired with the butter. The Wagyu tartare was my first time trying tartare, very flavorful as a remind me of a beef Vietnamese skewer however, there were some pieces that were a little too chewy for me. The mushroom chard rice was probably my favorite dish of the night. They have a lot of vegetarian options too. I would highly recommend this place to come back. read more
this spot is fairly new on cap hill, and i've been meaning to try it for awhile now. very easy to make reservations. it did fill up as it got later in the night, but there is plenty of seating, so im sure you could just walk in. it is definitely a vibey, chic restaurant. feels more fancy than casual, almost like fine dining for the ordinary person. service was super quick and the staff were very helpful and attentive. as for food, we enjoyed most of our dishes/drinks. we got the pandan and fruit tea cocktails. both were not that strong but they did taste good, i liked the fruit tea one a little more. their cocktail list is very fun and unique, as is the theme for most of their menu items. it is definitely a play on traditional vietnamese dishes, as if a fine dining chef made traditional vietnamese food. the flavors were spot on and very reminiscent of common vietnamese food. we got the banh tieu, which came out fresh and hot, it was a good starter but price a little steep for what it is. we also got the hamachi crudo, which was such a fun dish, the kumquat fish sauce sorbet was the star... definitely something you have to try for yourself. i also really enjoyed the lions mane fritter, which came with a very delicious five spice demi glace and a fun potato espuma (foam) to dip in. the rice rolls were great. the crispy rice was just okay though, the lobster and mushroom puree (?) was a bit lacking in flavor, so probably wouldn't get this next time. read more
I occasionally go to fine dining, so ramie was a treat. We tried a bunch of different dishes: Bread was solid. Lightly sweet with great texture Frog legs could have been crunchier but the sauce was fragrant Chicken: the sambal sauce was the best one, overall not bad Fish: crispy and served as a shallot delivery device. Sauces were unremarkable. Crispy rice: nothing special. The real highlight was the mousse. Superb texture and flavor and perfect sweetness. Overall decent but kind of pricy. Nothing really stood out that made me have to return but it was an interesting experience and the ambiance and staff were great. read more

This is a great affordable HH in Cap Hill and me and my party ended up ordering one of everything on the HH menu. I thought that everything was reasonably priced and it was a clever fusion/ twist on traditional Vietnamese flavors and this is a great spot to come with friends and share items. I love oysters so definitely appreciated the creative accruements and then other highlights also included turmeric rockfish and the coffee rubbed ribs (I thought this dish was easily the best value item on the menu). The fries were also good although I wish the laughing cow béchamel had more of that flavor. The service was friendly and when my receipt came, I was charged extra for items that I didn't order but when I pointed that out to the server, they rectified that pretty quickly. The ambiance is really nice with high ceilings and the meal felt pretty elevated as a result. Would definitely come back if I was in the area. read more
This was my first time having elevated Vietnamese food and I have to say the flavors were captured so well. You get the modern twists but still staying true to the flavors of vietnamese cooking. It is a bit on the pricier side for what you get but it's also about the experience of the food. My favorite items were the Hamachi Crudo with the kumquat sorbet, Bánh Tiêu with the honey butter and Rice Rolls with Tiger shrimp head purée. Seriously packed with so much flavor! Our server was very knowledgeable about the food & drinks and explained the components of everything for us making it a nice dining experience. The only downside was how slow our food hit the table. We mentioned we'd like the food as it comes when being asked if we wanted it coursed out. But each dish came out one by one with about 15 minute gaps in between. Which lead to us being there for about 2 hours, a little longer than we had anticipated.. The ambiance overall is really nice, I loved the vibes and việt pop music they played. Definitely a cute date night spot! read more
We were excited to try this new Vietnamese fusion restaurant after trying BaSa. We made a reservation at 5:30 PM on Saturday and the place wasn't too busy then. Interior is pretty modern and aesthetic. Food (4/5): Overall, pretty good but too salty and overpriced... - Hollow bread: this is basically fried bread with smooth butter and honey. Pretty tasty and basic as an appetizer, slightly oily though. - King oyster mushroom: this was very flavorful, buttery, and juicy. But for basically 2 large mushrooms, $23 is a bit too steep... - Sweet corn: this was our favorite dish here. The corn is sauteed with beef jus and comes with an onsen egg. Very different from what it looks like - so umami and flavorful, although it started to get a bit too salty. Initially $19 for corn seemed like a lot too, but because of the unique and complex flavor, I think this was definitely worth it. - Rice roll with tiger shrimp paste and pork: strong shrimp flavor and nice texture from the rice roll. A lot of flavor from the pork as well! -Branzino: whole Branzino fish that comes with 3 sauces (perilla, chili soy sauce, fish sauce with onsen egg), rice, and cucumber kimchi. We liked the perilla sauce but the other sauces were too salty. The fish was ok... we liked the green onion and fried shallot toppings, but the fish was a bit dry and thin with lots of tiny bones that made it hard to eat. We normally love Branzino and regularly eat it at home, so not sure if we would get this. Service: When we first arrived, we saw a lot of staff and plenty of empty tables but the service was super slow. Took awhile for our waiter to come by and we were all ready to order and starving, but he started explaining the menu in a lot of detail... would've been nicer if we got this info earlier because we had already made up our mind. Other than the hollow bread, it took awhile for each dish to come out one by one. Worst of all, our server splashed some sauce on my dress while clearing some plates and ignored it. Overall, not impressed with the service, which is why I am dropping a star. Overall, we had pretty high expectation after seeing really positive reviews so it was a little disappointing. The food was decent but too pricey for the portion and the service could be improved. read more

It's not often that you find a restaurant where every.single.dish. is interesting, delicious, beautiful, and filled with different textures. We went to Ramie for our wedding anniversary dinner last night. I came in a bit skeptical ad a Vietnamese person and one who didn't have a great experience at Anchovies and Salt in Renton so I was curious how Ramie would do in the higher end of Vietnamese cuisine. It was an enjoyable experience! The food was quite delicious overall. The service was top notch. Ambiance was ok but it could use some paintings on the walls to bring the restaurant all together. We were pretty excited as high end and experimental Vietnamese restaurants are not super common. We really enjoyed their take on some Vietnamese dishes. However we did notice that most of the current summer menu was very fish sauce based. It was very good but throughout the night the flavor profile was a bit stagnant. We would've liked a bit of variety overall. The frog legs were good but the weak point of the night. The fish definitely was the highlight, the sauces really complimented each other and was top notch. Their bánh cuốn take was interesting as it was a bit of a deconstructed version, but still very good overall. It felt like Ramie made different dishes that paid respects to Vietnamese flavors, which I respect. They pulled it off for the most part. Overall it was a great experience. I would rate Ramie overall a 4.2/5 for the most part, it would score higher as I thought a couple of the dishes we got were just a bit overpriced for what we got. But we still left satisfied and happy! Definitely eons better than the other "elevated" Vietnamese restaurant in Renton Anchovies and Salt. Go to Ramie instead. read more

Lovely space, friendly and attentive service and delicious, interesting food! We found the entire menu really fun to explore, with quality ingredients and creative takes on dishes like hamachi crudo, banh cuon and braised pork ribs. Wow. This meal was absolutely delicious. Came here during the soft opening. They don't officially open till 5/22 so their menu is limited but still delicious. They are the same owners as Basa on Bainbridge Island which is my go to place when I like to do a day trip to BI. Their cocktails are super unique. Don't expect it to be simple but like a journey. I got the pandan rice (I absolutely like anything pandan) and it has flavors of gin and calamansi as well. It was delicious. Started off with the calamansi taste then finished with pandan. For our food we got the mushroom, chicken and trotter (asked my friend Trinh which is one of the owners what we should get and she suggested those). All amazing. the mushrooms had a meaty texture and flavors were so good. Chicken was moist and flavorful and the trotters (pigs feet) had so much flavor and you wouldn't even know it was feet unless someone told you. You eat it like a ssam (wrapped in lettuce) and the pickled daikon and garlic cuts through the heaviness of the pork). For dessert I couldn't decide out of the two so we got both! The black bean mousse tastes very similar to black sesame with the nuttiness. You can taste the hibiscus foam. My favorite had to be the fruit cup which is made with fruit milk ice cream (i need this in a tub) with fruit on top with a pavlova crust (like a meringue). SO GOOD. Can't wait to come back and try the more of the items. read more

Originally was gonna go to Spinasse and even made a quick reservation when I got there but changed my mind because I rather get a reservation for a different day and just plan it out. I had walked past Ramie before going into Spinasse and right off the bat noticed the interior and the overall look of the restaurant so I head on over to dine in. Right as they open, first person in and ready to eat. The interior was so modern but had such a distinct aesthetic to it. Big windows for great natural light, open kitchen so you can see the line in action, servers extremely knowledgeable on the menu and made great recommendations. Let's get into what I got; BANH TIEU | WHIPPED BUTTER, LOCAL HONEY, FLEUR DE SEL. ROASTED BLACK SESAME CAN GA DON FOIE GRAS | FOIE GRAS STUFFED WING FREE RANGE WING, TEMPURA, GROUND PORK, SHITAKE MUSHROOM, CABBAGE, GINGER, FOIE GRAS. ADDED CAVIAR CANH KHOAI MÖ | RISOTTO PURPLE YAM PUREE, NGO OM AND NGO GAI PESTO, PICKLED FENNEL, HERB OIL, LOTUS CHIPS, HAZELNUT DUST NAM CHIÊN NUÓC MAM | MUSHROOM KINGARYSTER MUSHROOM, BEURRE MONTE, LIME FISH SAUCE REDUCTION, VEGAN CAVIAR Drinks I had; HOA QUA | FRUIT DRAGON FRUIT, ROSE, SEEDLIP GROVE, CITRUS, BUBBLES NUÓC ÉP | FRESH MELATI FRESH, PASSIONFRUIT, CALAMANSI, LIME, CITRUS CORDIAL I can say that I genuinely loved the hollow bread and the risotto the most. CAN GA FOIE GRAS was very interesting, I have never had foie gras before but what they put together with it was really interesting but played off each other pretty well. HOA QUA was my favorite drink from the two I got. CANH KHOAI MÖ risotto was savory and delicious. Had been craving a good risotto and it did not disappoint that's for sure. My overall experience was very great and I will absolutely be coming back to try to rest of the menu. read more

Terrible experience. $600 to pre book, wasted..... Do you love lines and waiting? Microscopic portions? Poor service? Well this place is for you. We paid in advance, still had to wait an hour to be seated, they then tried to say we didn't order soon enough, food / service was incredibly slow, to the point our dinner, which was supposed to start at 8pm, did not get finished until 11:30pm... The food was not even close to being worth the terrible service. Took the entire new years/ birthday celebration trying to get our waiters attention. Really really disappointing read more
