Think French restaurant - expensive, small portions with unusual ingredients, cleverly combined. My American, gustatory demands preclude me eating at this type of restaurant more than once a year (the $250 for 2 - including tip, might be a small factor). The service is good. There was supposed to be a $25 reservation fee that is the included in the check that they waived, only half full at 7:00. Go to the web site and Yelp reviews to become familiar with the offerings since it's overwhelming. The server gave good descriptions but hearing issues and names/terminology mostly confused so we pretty much went with what we preselected and the followed his suggestions. There was a delay with the mackerel dish but they brought out a small oyster mushroom entree to tide us over. I think the mackerel was then overcooked (rush job?) 4 stars for cost and serving delay. read more

Perfect from start to finish. The staff knew who we were and had prepared accordingly (one of us with a birthday and another with celiac disease). The food was exquisite; special highlights were the duck custard appetizer and the crispy mackerel, but really everything was special, even a "humble" item like the salt-and-pepper noodles. I would recommend Ramie to experience at least once before making any assessments. Thoroughly enjoyed the creativity that was tasteful to my palette. There were 4 in our party and everyone for the most part was impressed. The bill was steep but didn't mind. Would go back often if prices weren't on the higher end. We tried a little bit of everything including a couple of desserts to share. The desserts were delicious. Don't go here expecting traditional taste and expecting it to hit the same. So bomb. Elevated viet food to another level. I've seen a handful of places try to elevate it but it feels like overpriced and crazy ingredients. This place takes traditional ingredients and does wonders with it. There's familiarity in the food but presented differently and new textures. I'm definitely coming here again. Delicious place to share food with friends! Came through via a foodie group and this didn't disappoint! Location was very clean and had great vibes. Bathroom was nice. Our server was stellar- had some great recs and was able to steer us in right direction of # of plates to order for the table. Had a lot of shareables that were amazing- of note best dishes in my opinion were the mushrooms (may be seasonal), the veggie platter (taro hummus with fish sauce), and black bean mousse. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Ramie last night. Starting with the flexibility they showed allowing us to move up our reservation as we arrived in time early. John our waiter was so helpful understanding the menu and had great recommendations on coursing the meal with our two young children. The oysters, duck custard, wagyu tartar were our favorites but everything was delicious! Highly recommend this place!! read more

Can we talk about upscale Vietnamese cuisine? The food at Ramie was flavorful and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend everything we got on the menu. My absolute favorites were the mushrooms, the Hamachi and the hollow bread, but everything was very tasty. The service exceeded all our expectations. Our server John, got to know us by our personal names and talked us through the menu in detail. He was very knowledgeable about every dish and even shared stories of their origination. He made excellent recommendations on what to order and also how much to order for the four of us. The space is beautiful inside they did an excellent job making it feel upscale and a cool vibe that you wanted to be in. The owner Trinh greeted us at our table to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of excellent. She is super sweet. I highly recommend trying this new restaurant and if you're ever out in Bainbridge Island, definitely go eat at Basa as well! read more

We Flew in to Seattle from Chicago to watch the Niners take on the Seahawks, hopefully it's a W! We were starving and walked by Ramie and decided to give it a try. We started with the bread, followed by the grilled oysters and for our main dishes we had the braised short ribs, Mary's chicken, grilled mackerel, salt and pepper noodles and the bone marrow. The bread was delicious but felt the portion was very small, the cooked oysters were delicious! They had some type of vietanemese sauce that had hints of ginger and garlic, the best dish in my opinion was the short ribs, they were tender, fell off the bone and were delicious, the Chicken was also very delicious, it had a delicious chili sauce and Tamarind sauce that were amazing, the kale salad was the best Kale salad I've ever had! My least favorite item was the mackerel, wasn't my cup of tea. I will say that the red rice really cut the fishness of the mackerel but I would not order again. The deserts were amazing, I don't remember what they're called but they had the flavors of a Vietnamese dessert in an elegant way. I would definitely return! The ambiance was great and so was the service, the space is very nice and it can be a date night spot or a place for family or friends. read more

We went to Ramie for Valentine's Day. Their menu was good, but very overpriced. We love going to these multi-course set meals, but this was the first time I've left one still a little hungry (for instance, the first course was a single dumpling). Overall, this was a meal I'd expect to pay $85-100 for per person, not double that, with a mandatory 22% tip and an additional service fee on top... The food was well-prepared though, and I think I'd enjoy their regular menu more. The drinks were just okay. The service was pretty slow, and we were ignored most of the night. read more

I had dinner there 3/6/25 and was very impressed! I love Ramie's sister restaurant Ba Sa on Bainbridge island. Ramie is different in a great way. Excellent sharing dishes (or as entrees if that's your thing). Our food was fresh, beautifully prepared and perfectly flavored. The cocktail menu looks extensive and everything was reasonably priced. I've been meaning to write a review of this place. It's close to one of my offices and I am SO stoked about it. Food is so phenomenal!! Flawlessly executed, high quality ingredients, and impressive flavor profiles that meld Vietnamese cuisine with true modern chef creativity. Serious compliments to the chefs and menu creators! And price point wise, every penny worth it for what you get. Staff, bartender, and service were impeccable - non pretentious, knowledgeable of the menu, personable, and changed our old plates for new ones. The cocktail menu also was well curated. I'm personally not a huge fan of mixed drinks in general but the ones I tried from my friends were flavorful and enjoyable! Ambiance is classy with very nice finishing touches for decor. Highly recommend!! What a gem to add to Capitol Hill. I will definitely be back! read more

Tonight was amazing. The ostrich was delicious. Even with a clearly busy schedule, they were able to provide great service.

Tl;dr - We just dined here tonight and my main thought walking away was that this place feels destined for greatness. Please go! We got nearly everything from the menu, off the top of my head: the fried bread, oysters, hamachi crudo, beef carpaccio, rice rolls, queen's oyster mushroom, risotto, charred rice, branzino, pig trotters, and both desserts (a black bean mousse deal and a fruit pavlova). The mushrooms were a real standout: perfect texture, balanced sweetness, excellently cooked in butter. The hamachi crudo had an interesting sorbet pairing that combined the crudo's saltiness with some acid and sugar. If it were possible to just have a bowl of the black bean dessert I would've had it to go. If I had to pick nits, the branzino's presentation (deboned, on a plate topped with confit (?) scallions and fried shallots) was a little plain compared to all the other stellar arrangements. On the flip side, I liked that the plate was flanked by a trio of sauces that represents Vietnamese cuisine in the north (onsen egg fish sauce), south (sambal), and by this restaurant (chimichurri). We also thought the risotto didn't taste quite on the same level as the other dishes, but as a mostly-vegetarian I understand the levers are a little limited. I also had their version of a martini and it was fantastic. I'd love for vermouth blanc to take off! Service was excellent, we all appreciated that, as they took our drink orders, it was already being communicated to the bar via some handheld device. Our server was also kind enough to formally hand us off to the next person when his shift ended. Ambiance: the outdoor seating looks excellent, but we sat in the middle as a party of six. One compliment I heard was that, in the space's previous iteration, the place we sat was usually blinded by the Sun's reflection from across the street, but whoever designed Ramie evidently added solar shades to blunt the effect. Nice! Last but not least, yes the place is firmly not on the cheap side, but if you've read this far into the review, it's clear I think it's worth it! read more

Seated 30 mins after our reservation (which was held by a $25/person deposit). No drinks while we waited. Food was very slow. When it arrived, was tasty but 50% of dishes were cold. Server was apologetic but when bill came, nothing comp'd. 2hrs after our reservation time for 2 courses (no dessert) was more than slow, a basic acknowledgement that the service was unacceptable would have sufficed, but instead we were charged the auto 5% gratuity and min 18% additional for wait staff. No issue tipping but this just doesn't jive. Won't return and they need to get their house in order. read more

Recently opened in Omega Ouzuri's location, Ramie is high end Vietnamese food like nothing else in Seattle. You must start with the hollow bread and it's accompanying whipped honey butter. If you had weak self control you might just order 4 of these for dinner. Cocktails are classics infused with Vietnamese flavors, like a martini riff with a Vietnamese vegetal oil. Reminiscent of Phocific Standard but less challenging, which makes sense as the food here is the star. The location retains Omega's bones, but with darker colors, that create a little more stately environment. And service is up to par with the price, prompt, knowledgeable and polite. I had a fantastic time here and plan on returning with friends. read more

It's rare that we walk out before a prepaid meal is finished. This experience is absolutely fucking horrendous. It was one of the most expensive yet disappointing meals I've ever experienced. The first course was a meager helping of vegetables with a dip that tasted of rotten fish and gasoline. Following this was three small slices of fish and barely anything more. The "main course " Was two pieces of steak that had sat out for so long that they were cold. They are also served with the saddest potatoes I've ever eaten in my life, which is saying something. Every round of cocktails or wine that we ordered took at least 20 minutes to get to the table. We ended up walking out before dessert could even be served because we had been sitting for nearly 3 hours. We would've said all this to the server but they never even asked how our food was. So disappointed because we were so exited to fsupport a new business but it seemed that they were prioritizing their happy hour lounge over customer paying full price. Also who does. Happy hour from 5-8 on a Friday? Ew. read more

Disappointing experience overall. We were seated late despite having a reservation and the service was very slow (seated for around 2.5 hours total). The staff were very nice and friendly, even warning us that the kitchen was backed up when we placed our order. However, a table that was seated next to us began to receive their dishes before us (some of which were the same ones we ordered) despite them being seated later than our table. The short rib was great, super tasty and tender, but we waited almost an hour for the next dish to arrive. Overall, the food was quite greasy and heavy. You could taste that the oil had soaked into the fried items rather than being crispy and light. It could have been just the items we ordered (bread service, short rib, mushroom fritter, crispy rice, pork belly), but the food was not as refreshing and light as I would expect from Vietnamese cuisine. The staff were very friendly when addressing our concerns and even comped a dish. Would be interested in trying again but the slow service and overly greasy food items made this a dissapointing experience. read more

The food was delicious and we enjoyed our meal there being from out of town. I would recommend visiting for sure. The only down side was the 5% service charge that was added to our bill? We inquired and the waiter knew nothing about it but came back informing us it was for benefits to the staff but he said he didn't receive any of that money so it was confusing who really got this money? It just seemed like an added charge gauging the customers for something they say is being given to the staff but clearly the waiter waiting on us is not receiving any of this. It really does add up because then you're also adding a tip of min. 18% on top of that. (Of course you don't have to but its the standard they set on the machines now). My advice: trust your customers to ask questions about the menu and seek explanations when needed. This beautiful new restaurant introduces their guests to an array of French Vietnamese dishes. The sauces are unique and flavorful. The appetizers range from veggies to protein to an amazing banh tieu ( light bread) with honey butter. We tried 5 appetizers and 4 entrees and two desserts.
