I really wanted to love this place but both the food and the drinks did not compare to other Vietnamese places in town. The drinks were overly sweet. The food portion sizes were small. Great location but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here
I found out about this restaurant because I wanted pho and wanted to try someplace new. Not the easiest to get to. We took a Uber. Got seated right away The waitress was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. The food was beautiful and fresh. It was a little too sweet. My husband enjoyed it. The bartender was really talented. I ordered the flight cocktails. The not only looked fabulous but they were great in taste and flavor. They are located inside of Chophouse Row. An incredible effort to make this place romantic. I would return but ask that the dressings are less sweet
Came in on a Tuesday around opening for SRW. The server recommended the banh xeo, which was my partner's first time having it (but definitely not mine; I grew up eating benh xeo) and I was pleased with their execution. Fragrant with coconut milk, crispy edges, and generous pork and shrimp filling. They served it with good nuoc cham and the right fragrant herbs and fresh lettuce. I had the Seattle Restaurant Week menu: pork belly appetizer, pho as my main dish, che thai as my dessert, and a beer. The pork belly was delicious: crispy and well balanced/seasoned. It didn't tasty too fatty and the kumquat was a delicious bright additional. The pho was good, nothing to write home about, but solid portion. The che thai was kind of a small portion for the price but it was good. Strangely out of two of their beers on draft were out that day, so they offered a different IPA can, which was fine. Staff is friendly.

The seats inside are pretty close together and small, so there isn't too much capacity overall. The decorations and ambiance are really great though! I ordered the com tam, which came with a mound of broken rice and a fried egg, as well as the pork chop, shredded pork, and pork loaf. It also came with a few cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled carrots and daikon, as well as the fish sauce. Overall, the flavors were pretty good. The pork chop was nicely charred and juicy, and the pork loaf and shredded pork were also well seasoned. I did think the rice was a tad dry and less fragrant than other broken rice I've had. Service was friendly and prompt, and I did like the overall vibes of the place. I'd try other items!
I would describe Xóm as a trendy and modern take on Vietnamese cuisine. Their dining space exudes cozy vibes and the layout promotes communal dining. I was definitely excited to sit down and try a few items. I ordered both the Halong Bay and the Mekong Secret cocktails. The Halong Bay is a mix of orange infused tropical herb rum, gin, tequila reposado, blue curaçao, and lychee liquor. This drink was powerful and refreshing. The Mekong Secret is also rum based with an added passion fruit liquor, lemon juice, pineapple juice, and coconut cream. This cocktail packed a punch with a fresh taste. For the food, I ordered the Crab Egg Rolls appetizer and the Bún Thịt Nướng with pork. I highly recommend the egg rolls! Flavorful, crispy, and served with a dipping sauce and pickled carrots and daikon. The Bún Thịt Nướng was also delicious, however there was so much lettuce that it could have just been a salad. This was served with nước chấm sauce on the side. Service was attentive. The food was beautifully presented. The pricing is definitely on the higher end. The Bún Thịt Nướng was $20 and the egg rolls were $19. It was worth a try so I can compare with other Vietnamese restaurants that are not as upscale. I would visit again to try other items on their menu.

A great Vietnamese restaurant located in Capitol Hill! I got the com tam which is a rice plate that contains pork chops, shredded pork and an egg loaf. My favorite part of the dish was the shredded pork, but a little sad that there wasn't too much of it ... Same for the pickled veggies. Our server was really nice, so no complaints or anything. The interior was so pretty! Especially at night. Dark aesthetic with a bit of greenery Open concept kitchen where you can see all the magic happen! The seating is a bit close to others as a heads up.
Xóm is a really quaint Vietnamese restaurant/cocktail bar located in the heart of Capitol Hill. There aren't many Vietnamese restaurants in the Cap Hill area, and this restaurant is perfect for an ambient dinner with friends. The dishes are quite large and good for sharing, and they offer a wide range of drinks. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered, particularly the mango salad. The prices can be hefty, so I'd recommend finding dishes that are easy to share. We unfortunately had to wait a while to be seated and served, because the restaurant was severely understaffed. The waitress attending to everybody was doing as best as she could though! I hope this isn't a common occurrence, given I thoroughly enjoyed the food. I think I'll definitely be back if I'm craving a nice Vietnamese dining experience. It's a great restaurant to have dinner, and maybe a couple drinks, before exploring the rest of Cap Hill!
Just really really like the ambiance here. Very chic very Seattle modern! Had the banh xeo tacos which I've never seen before. It was very cool to try that out. And it was crisply good!! Not really a star down or anything. But the restrooms are kinda far to get to. You gotta go all the way to the back and take some stairs up. Other than that it's a real upscale looking Vietnamese spot. I'd come back here!
We actually weren't even planning to get dinner but while waiting for a friend we peeked at their menu and thought wellll couldn't hurt. I was itching for a banh xeo and having it in small taco form was great. Crispy, flavorful, sauce was great, veggies plentiful, shrimp falling out the sides. Yum yum perfection. I shared with a friend who got the banh mi which was also really good and came with fries too.

Xom is a great place to cool off for lunch or casual dinner in Capitol Hill. We went on a Saturday around 7pm and there was a bunch of seating available. I love that they always have the garage door style windows open so you can feel like you're sitting outside. Our server was super nice and let me sample some of their iced teas before making a selection. I went with the pomegranate jasmine iced tea, it has a bitter pomegranate flavor, which I loved. For food I had the Bun Thit Hue (I think that's the name) a cold noodle Vermicelli bowl with pork and veggies. My only remarks about this dish are that there was too much romaine lettuce, (I don't recall this dish ever coming with lettuce in other restaurants), the purple cabbage did not make sense with the flavors happening, there weren't jalapeños, and it could have used more fish sauce. I still enjoyed the freshness of the dish, however, the preparation I am used to just always knocks it out of the park for me. Also, for a dish that usually runs about $14, (it is $20 here) there just wasn't as much flavor. I also didn't see Hoisin sauce anywhere, and forgot to ask for some. That being said, I will come back and try the Tofu Bahn Mi and fries, my friend ordered them it was delicious! The fries are a nice thick cut and the bahn mi was adorned with loads of sauces and veggies. Yum.

Xóm is a modernized Vietnamese restaurant located in Chophouse Row in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle. Our group of six spontaneously decided to grab dinner at Xóm since it was my birthday weekend! There was a bit of a wait to be seated since we didn't have a reservation, but luckily, we were seated within 30 minutes. We ordered the Xóm Wings (crispy whole chicken wing in garlic butter fish sauce reduction) to share as a group. These were delicious! The crispiness and fish sauce together was excellent. It had me drooling. For my entree, I decided on the Bún Thịt Nướng (choice of chicken or pork, vermicelli, lettuce and herbs, cucumber, picked daikon and carrot, purple cabbage, friend peanut and oiled green onion, and nước chấm). I opted for the pork option because that is always my protein preference with Bún Thịt Nướng. It's always a good sign with Bún Thịt Nướng is served with an eggroll without an extra charge, so loved that! Three of us decided on ordering some of their cocktails, which were fun! We had a great experience at Xóm and I would definitely recommend coming here! read more
My sister and I stopped in here for dinner on a Tuesday. Their menu is Vietnamese with a variety of hearty, creative items. We ordered the: Spring Rolls ($12) - fine Ban Xeo ($18) - big Crepe-like dish, really good, though I was surprised at the scant amount of protein inside Bo Ne ($25) - such a rich dish - I loved using the baguette to sop up the over-easy eggs and pate I suppose the items are on the expensive side for Vietnamese food, but it does feel plated and more high quality than your average pho shop. The ambience inside is earthy, tropical, and beautiful. The staff are nice and the food was prepared promptly. read more
We heard amazing things about this place from our Vietnamese family members so we decided to check it out when we were in the area. Although the food is good, I can't confidently say I'll be back. Food & drink: (4/5) We had a great start with the calamari with salted egg yolk sauce. The squid was very easy to chew through with almost zero resistance and the batter was incredibly light and crispy. The sauce was pretty light on the salted egg yolk flavor. I found that if the menu hadn't said so, I wouldn't have known it was anything other than a spicy mayo. For our entrees, I got the BBH and my partner got the banh hoi platter. The BBH is definitely one of their must try items. The broth was extremely flavorful and the meat was sooo tender. I just with they included shredded banana blossom since that's a pretty essential topping to have on BBH. It does also have more meat to noodle ratio than most BBHs I've had, so that's something I would keep in mind before ordering. My partner thought the banh hoi platter was a bit disappointing. He said the banh was dried out and the proteins such as the shrimp on sugarcane were a bit bland. He also said he wished they included scallion oil. To wash it all down, I got a kumquat jasmine tea. It definitely ran on the sweeter side but was no issue since I just poured some of my water in it to dilute the drink. Service: (5/5) Outstanding service! We were served by two different people and they were both incredible throughout our entire dinner. Other notes: In most cases, I would leave a review like this at four stars. I'm subtracting one star because I believe there are some management issues based off what I observed just from sitting in. For the most part this place seems to be severely understaffed. When we came to dinner, it was a full house with a line forming but they only had two servers running the entire floor, including those eating outside. A cute niche spot on Chophouse Row! The cocktails & dishes were tasty but a bit pricy. I guess it is upscale viet food so better quality, presentation, and taste! Dishes are kind of shareable but for certain items it's not the largest portion... I've been here twice, once grand opening and then regular business time, I haven't had to wait longer than 5 minutes during a non-busy time. The restaurant is super beautiful, just like the plating of the dishes! Would come back once in a while for a nice dinner! :) read more

XOM has a cute setup with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor area is dog friendly, which is a plus. That said, the food took a surprisingly long time to come out, especially considering there were only about three other tables in the restaurant. The banh hoi platter was tasty and came in a generous portion, which we enjoyed. Unfortunately, after the food was dropped off, our server never came back to check on us. With more attentive service and better pacing, this could have been a much stronger experience. read more

Xom is a new Viet option located in Cap Hill and I got to try their $50 restaurant week dinner on a Friday with a couple friends. Overall, the dishes were delicious across the board. Prices are a little high, but expected for the area. Service was understaffed and we ended up remaining at the restaurant for 3+ hours just because of how long it took between courses and flagging down the waiter for the check. Xom has a couple kinks to work out, but generally a great choice for a night out. Crab Egg Rolls (3.75/5): Nice and crispy on the outside, flavor was pretty mild inside. I wish that the crab came through a bit more, but still solid. Xom Wings (4.5/5): Super crunchy outside, fantastic sticky sweet and savory sauce, and tender chicken. My personal favorite of the night. Garlic Butter Seafood (4/5): Amazing bang for your buck - they really fill the bowl with scallops and mussels. I was craving a bit more garlic, but definitely a hit at the table. Bo Ne (3.5/5): In spite of their look, the actual steak itself was well cooked and super tender. Unfortunately, the fries placed on top ended up steamed and soggy. The eggs were also overcooked and I was really missing the richness of the runny egg yolk. Xom Supreme (3.75/5): Loved the broth, light while still having great beef flavor. Noodles were fresh and very soft, which is just not my favorite - I prefer the chewy ones. Banh Flan (4.25/5): Great texture on the flan, super creamy and soft. Bruleed bananas added a nice bit of crunch and extra dimension. Drink wise, the One Fine Day mocktail was far too sweet, but the Mandarin Lemongrass Peach Iced Tea was super fresh and had great tea flavor still coming through. read more

I really enjoyed this spot. I chose to sit outside and had a great time enjoying the quiet walkway/alleyway that Xōm is connected to. The pork broken rice was flavorful, with tender pork and fish sauce that balanced it out perfectly. The morning glory was my favorite. It was so addictive despite being a simple veggie dish. The food took a while but it was so good that I didn't mind the wait. read more

A great Vietnamese restaurant in capital hill! I can't believe I haven't tried this place sooner. They serve great Vietnamese food and it's authentic. I had their Com Tam (broken rice, pork chop, shredded pork, veggies) and it was delicious! The pork was seasoned and made well. Very juicy and tasty as well. The veggies and broken rice were fresh, and the fish sauce was made well. However, there wasn't much shredded pork added which I was disappointed about. The ambiance was amazing! Great lighting and decoration and it was organized very well. I loved the plant theme they had throughout the restaurant. There's plenty of seating and it includes outdoor seating as well. The service was good. Server was nice and helpful. The food didn't take long to make as well. Regarding their menu prices, some of them are fairly priced, while others are pretty pricey. Overall, I very much enjoyed my experience here and I can't wait to come back! read more

Went to this place as my friend found it after looking for Vietnamese cuisine. When we got there I was already a fan of the atmosphere. It looked modern but inviting at the same time. It didn't take long to be seated and the waiting staff was great at checking in on us. I ordered their Vermicelli dish and it was good! There were some comments amongst our table about the lesser amount of meat with each of the dishes but otherwise was enjoyable. Definitely worth checking out read more

Xóm is well hidden in an alley but opens up to an exuberant scene, deserving of more attention. The bò né had well delivered components: the pork pate was very flavorful, the beef tenderloin was well seasoned and surprisingly tender for the tough cut that it is, and the totality of the dish complimented everything well. My only complaint was the fries; they're pretty bland and the texture is weird and they're very resembling of bad frozen fries tossed in an oven or air fryer. read more

One of my favorite Viet spots in the central Seattle area, and easily the top for Capitol Hill! The service is great, although sometimes slow bringing your food out, but they're always happy to give you some extra veg and sauce. If you have dietary restrictions, they'll try to work with you to change things up (ex: if you can't have pork, they'll swap it out for an egg). Came here on a Thursday evening for dinner and the place was very chill. I loved the interior decor and vibe, though it was a bit small so I can't imagine what it's like when it's a full house. The grilled cuttlefish appetizer was amazing! Had a great and subtle charred flavor and it was served with a lemongrass/sour sauce that was very flavorful paired with it. I really enjoyed this dish! Also got the bun hue chay (tofu noodle soup). It came with fresh veggies and chili oil which I loved. I asked for extra limes since I like my soups lime-y. The broth itself was a bit plain so I'm glad they gave the chili oil and limes. The dragon mule was a great choice too - a big slice of dragon fruit came on top of the drink. It was light, not that strong. My friend got a cocktail which was way too sweet. Service was quick and friendly! Overall would come again. Ordered Steak & Rib Pho with added poached egg. I was pleasantly surprised with a size of rib on a bone that was nice and tender and came right off the bone. Yummy. Presentation was on point too with a mix of hoisin and peanut sauces on a side. Fresh noodles were fire! They never added poached egg as ordered tho and the broth was warm but not hot. I like my soup hot so when I add bamboo shoots and all the side garnishes soup remains warm. Instead it was luke warm when after combining it with all the side garnishes. We enjoyed all the food and drink items we ordered, however this spot is on the pricier side. The plates and bowls are large, but full of greens and don't have very much of the protein you order. The Bun Thit Nuong was tasty, but didn't have a lot of chicken. The Banh Xeo Tacos were my favourite -- a little steep price-wise but very good. Went here during Seattle Restaurant Week and got their premium 3-course meal set. I think out of everything the vibes of this place is amazing. It's in Chophouse Row, my new favorite part of Seattle just to walk around and hang out. The decor inside is totally my style, I love anything with greenery and wooden accents. The portions for the food were hefty, the oxtail pho that I got was massive. My only complaint was that the mean was a little tougher, did not fall off the bone like some other places I went to. The standout was definitely the Garlic Butter Seafoods. Whatever they put in that sauce was immaculate and I actually dipped our Banh Xeo Tacos in it too because I couldn't get enough of it. The Bo Ne also had very tender steak and my boyfriend enjoyed the pate (which he doesn't usually care for). We got really full even by the appetizers and so we had to take stuff to go, but the food reheated pretty nicely! As for desserts, the cheesecake we got wasn't anything to write home about but the FLAN. Oh my gosh if we weren't so full then I would have asked for more. It was sweet but still not so sweet that it was teethrotting. Compliments to the chef. And finally, the peach tea was a bit on the sweeter side so just be warned. Couldn't really finish the whole thing because we were so full. And also our server was so sweet! We were tucked away in the corner of the store (which was nice and secluded) but she was still very attentive of us. Highly recommend especially for Seattle Restaurant Week. We went here for Seattle restaurant week and we had a reservation for 6:30 and we were seated immediately when we got there. As we ordered, our waitress notified us that many of the items on the Seattle restaurant week menu were already out. This was pretty disappointing to us but we made do. After we ordered, the waitress came back and said what I had ordered was also out. We also asked if we could upgrade the drinks included on the Seattle restaurant week menu and just pay the difference and were told that was not allowed. My friend got the spring rolls and upon getting them realized it had peanuts which she is allergic too, she told the waitress immediately and the waitress brought her a new dipping sauce. We asked her if there were peanuts in the rolls themselves and she said no but we asked her to check the kitchen as looking at the rolls, it looked like it had peanuts. She went to the kitchen and confirmed that there were peanuts. In the end my friend and I switched appetizers as there weren't any other items to order on the menu. Overall all the food was mid, my friends were really disappointed that the crab rolls and wings were out as the rest of the items weren't very appetizing to us. The pork belly was fine but we felt it was too salty to be on its own without rice.the spring rolls were fine but those are so easy to make and aren't any better than the ones I can make at home. We got the pho and the banh mi and both were fine, the banh mi came with fries which I was surprised about but sure why not. The cheesecake was fine and just tasted like generic grocery store cheesecake, we all thought the tiramisu was terrible though --- too sweet and artificial and neither of my friends could finish even half. Both of the mocktails were just fine. In the end the food was just fine and nothing impressed me, all the food we wanted to order wasn't even available. We did express the disappointment so in the end our waitress did comp our drinks and was very nice and expressed her apologies but I'm still disappointed in the restaurant. I felt like the service and everything was mid at every step of the way: things were out and it was surprising since we were there pretty early, we weren't allowed to upgrade our drinks, the waitress wasn't knowledgeable about ingredients in their foods that are common allergies, and I guess she had offered allowing us to pick something else or even on the main menu or something as everything else was crossed off --- my friend had only 1 appetizer choice that had no peanuts, they didn't even offer to remake it without peanuts. It's really disappointing because this place is so cute and a great location but it's just a total miss for me and I would recommend others to miss it as well read more
Service is good and ambiance is nice, similar to my feelings about the food. As a Vietnamese person, obviously I judge Vietnamese food harsher than others because I've tried so many variations and recipes from my mom's to the street vendors in Vietnam. I think Xom's food is flavorful and they've definitely gotten the right ingredients. Some things tasted too sweet for me, but overall everything was tasty and fresh. I wasn't blown away but I'm not dissatisfied either. Definitely pricier than Vietnamese restaurants in Little Saigon but it does the job if you're wanting a cute date night. I'd come back to try other dishes and their cocktails! read more
Came here for their restaurant week and was very pleasantly surprised. Looking at the menu I was like damn why is everything so expensive, but the pho I genuinely think is worth the price it is really good, the broth has a very rich complex flavor from the oxtail and while I love simple msg pho soup, this is certainly a unique experience. Their wings are really good, the bo ne is ok, and I really liked the garlic seafood thing, they have good bread. Very pleasantly surprised with this place. read more
Ambience. A Service. A Food. A Price. A Found in Capitol Hill in the alley restaurants areas. Cool modern and low light ambience. Very comfy and welcoming. Staff was friendly and accommodating seating quickly. One staff want familiar with items on menu so had another interpret menu and accommodate changing items for my taste. Order the pho with beef shank, beef , pork ham and pork trotter. Wanted to switch out the ham for the tendon. Easily accommodate! My new experience are the round noodles made of rice and potato starch. Nice bounce and al dente bites eating the noodles. Accompanied the lovely hearty beef broth. Meat in shank and trotted I wish had been boiled braised longer to fall off bone. Lots of meat to attempt to pick off the bones was my only issue. Should have asked for knife. Overall, delicious meal and new experience with that Vietnamese rice round noodle! I'm a FaN!!! read more
This rating is for the food. I like ambience of the restaurant with the plants. It's a cute spot for lunch. I split the seafood platter and broken rice dish with my friend. The seafood platter/tower comes with two pieces of mussels, oysters, shrimps, scallops, and grilled octopus. The oysters were amazing with the sauce that they put on top. The grilled octopus was excellent as well with great flavor and texture. The shrimps were dry and other two didn't quite stand out as much as the oysters. The grill pork was good but a bit overpriced for what it is. Service is okay. I arrived at the restaurant asking for a table of two, waiting for my friend to show up. The hostess asked how long it will take for my friend to get here as I can't hold on to a table for too long when the restaurant wasn't busy when I enter and the entire duration of dining. read more
Came here on a Friday night and didn't have to wait! Between two people, we split the mango salad, scallop and mussel butter sauce, and the comtam. The portions were huge so it was the perfect amount to split between two people. Everything was delicious! I loved the freshness of the mango salad, the richness of the butter sauce, and tropical flavors in the comtam! Food came 10 minutes after ordering. The restaurant was spread out which I liked! Trying to recover from last week disastrous bowl of pho, I wanted to go to another Vietnamese restaurant. Xom is like a little bit upgraded Vietnamese restaurant (similar to Ba Bar). We ordered 4 5 dishes * Noble scallop with butter and garlic: the flavor was great and the amount of Scallops is generous. I just wish the broth were a little bit denser * Chicken wings with passionfruit sauce: wings are crispy and moist but I couldn't taste any passionfruit * Broken rice: the pork chop was really flavorful. Fish sauce was ok and maybe it's intentional but it lacks the fresh chili flavor * Sizzling beef: beef was tender but it needed a little but more salt and the pate was good. * Xom supreme: basically the special Pho with oxtail, eye round. The broth had really good aroma and I love the fact that they used the fresh noodle. But it seriously needs more fish sauce because broth was quite bland read more
We came in around 9pm on a Saturday. The interiors was very cute and clean. They were closing down one side of their restaurant so we were sat to share a big table with another party. The drinks were delicious! My friends who got the vegetarian pho (bun hue chay) loved her dish. I ordered the xom supreme but it didn't come as many oxtails and bone marrow as I would hoped. The soup was also too much so the flavor was a bit diluted. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Parking was street parking which was normal for cap hill. read more
