    Pad Khee Mao

I ordered takeout as I was craving Thai and wanted to try something different, the interior was decorated in a fun vibe. I ordered the garlic chicken and the pad khee mao with beef. The service was friendly and the garlic chicken was good with just the right amount of breading. The beef was a little tough and there was a $4 up charge for beef. Overall the prices were expensive considering the portions and we spent almost $70 with tip on lunch without any drinks.

The Pad Ki Mao, Thai Fried Rice, Red curry, and Green curry, were just amazing! The flavors are so unique and delicious, we highly recommend! The staff was also super nice and accommodating! Super amazing ambiance, music was great. Just beware of the homeless population outside.

Pretty pricy for what it is. Standard fare, the pad see ew was fine. I actually liked the curry flight we got as an app maybe a bit more although the roti was really greasy. Mainly it's the pricy to taste ratio that can't really justify it for me.

Pretty decent Thai place in Pike Street with ample seating. Dropped in to grab quick dinner with a friend and we ordered Pad Kee Mau and their house special noodles. Pad Kee Mau tasted so good, House noodles weren't that great. I'd like to give it another try sometime to check out other dishes.

Came with a walk-in party of 5 around 8pm on a Sunday night. It was a little busy but the staff were happy to accommodate us and set up a table for 5. Service was friendly and fast. I ordered pad see ew with tofu, with a spice level of 2/5. It was a good combo of flavor and quantity, with enough leftover to take home for lunch the next day. My entree came out to about $20 after tax and tip, which I consider a little high for just one vegetarian entree. But the size of the dish basically made up for it. Would recommend Ayutthaya to anyone looking for a casual sit-down Thai dinner.

    Pad thai with hair

Found this hair when I was basically done. And pad thai didn't taste like pad thai - it was just soaked in this weird sweet sauce that was too sweet. Worst "pad thai" I've ever had

This is my go-to Thai spot in Cap Hill! I've been coming here for years now and always satisfied with the food here. Their Crab fried rice is a highlight for me! This time around, we came in for a weekday dinner and found a spot easily. Our server was really helpful with curry and noodle recommendations, since we were feeling a little indecisive. We ended ordering the Panang curry and Rad nah noodles. Both were great! The Panang curry was rich and excellent over a bowl of white rice. The Rad Nah was came with plenty of veggies and noodles and tasted amazing, although there was just a bit more sauce than what I usually prefer. Overall, had a great time as expected from a CapHill staple!

This was the first place I had Thai food over 25 years ago. A friend and I were going to go to Taku but he forgot his ID. So when I saw this place was still open I suggested it. I used to work on the hill and this was a regular of the gang I worked with my go to was their phad see ew. On this visit I decided to try their COCONUT CHICKEN it was listed as one of the specialties. I had grabbed an ice cream before cause I had time to waste before meeting my friend so I knew I wouldn't eat my entire meal and wanted something I knew would reheat well. Also my friend got the crab fried rice so I wanted to get something comparable in price. Food was still delicious and comforting. Service was friendly and food came out quickly. It was nice to see this family owned restaurant was still around. The Seahawk game was on this Thursday and it obvious the owners were fans in their jerseys and the game on in the bar. Was nice to go back and visit the place I had my first experience with Thai food.

Corner of Pike and Harvard in Capitol Hill.

Still wonderful. Excellent thai, great service (Boon is wonderful) and such Seattle history. They say Capitol Hill is experiencing an epidemic of frat boys and entitled young couples, but the today's view from the corner window table of Ayuttahaya showed the soul of the neighborhood to be intact.

    Larb, ground chicken.
    Augustin R.

I got the Larb, with ground chicken. Usually going to Thai restaurants I opt for the ever faithful pad Thai or pad see ew, but I recognized the name larb so I tried it and it was delicious. It had a very nice refreshing, citrusy, and tangy tamarind taste. If I could drink the vinaigrette it was served in I would. I got a level 3 spice, which I didn't think was too spicy, but my friend got the fish curry and he was sweating heavily, so maybe ask about how intense the spice is if you're not someone who manages it well. I think my only complaint with the dish was the plating. The plate was maybe a little too small for the serving size, or it could be in a mess and I don't have decent eating habits. It was also served with an almost half wedge of cabbage. I believe this was meant to be be peeled leaf by leaf, but the cabbage size was a little awkward and didn't work that well as a serving vessel. But overall very delicious and would definitely recommend.

Loved this Thai spot in Cap Hill. I got the peanut noodles with tofu and it was creamy and delicious. Their cocktails were refreshing and yummy. Quick service in the middle of the day for lunch. I would definitely come back to this spot.

The moment you walk in, it feels like you've been transported straight to a bustling Thai night market or a lively pub along the strip. The interior design and decor are so fun and detailed. Just keep in mind that it gets pretty loud and energetic inside, but in a fun, vibrant way that really adds to the experience. We ordered a little bit of everything: Tom Kha: Perfectly creamy, tangy, and hit all the right aromatic notes. Kor Moo Yang (Grilled Pork Neck): Tender, super savory, and packed with flavor. Pad Thai & Fried Rice: Both classic comfort dishes executed exceptionally well--not dry at all and loaded with taste. Everything came out piping hot and full of authentic flavor. The wait can be a bit long during peak hours, but it's 100% worth it. Definitely a new go-to Thai spot in Seattle!

The atmosphere is great and gives off Bangkok street food vibes especially with the fact that it stays open until 2 am. We came in at 6 pm on a Saturday and were seated within 5-10 minutes. The waiter was diligent about checking in on us despite how busy the place already was. Whilst I liked the restaurant vibes, the place where we were seated was so hot with absolutely no ventilation making it a bit uncomfortable for a Seattle summer. There are fans placed throughout the rest of the restaurants, but in the subsection where we were placed, I don't believe that was an option. Another thing that was disappointing is the menu is deceptive in saying that dishes can be made gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, etc, but that's actually not true. The salads, soups, curries, and Pad Thai all have fish sauce / oyster sauce in them which is not vegetarian. I ended up requesting for vegan dishes instead and I could only order noodles which made sharing with my non-vegetarian friends quite difficult. I ended up getting the Pad Mama which was delicious, but it was definitely not my first choice. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this restaurant for a vegetarian, but the options are incredible for those who eat meat and / or enjoy a good cocktail menu.

We scanned the electronic menu at the front, ordered, then got water at the self-serve station. We beat the lunch crowd so we had plenty of tables to choose from. The bright and cheery decor had nice ambiance and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My hubs ordered the Khao Soi Chiang Mai, one of his favorite dishes to order at a Thai restaurant. It was huge and came in a big, wide bowl. He enjoyed the flavor of the yellow curry and building heat of this dish. Make sure to get a steak knife at the front counter so you can cut the meat from the chicken drumstick (if you're not biting into it). Also, if you are a spice lightweight like me, this is not your dish. But if you enjoy spice and curries, you will enjoy this dish. I got the E-Jae House Noodle with chicken and no egg. Wow, their handmade rice noodles were amazing! So soft, tender, and kinda ropey. I loved the texture and taste of this dish. The sauce was light and complimented the noodles, chicken, green onions, and cilantro. It's so great to eat a restaurant dish that isn't too salty or saucy! It comes with a side of chili sauce which I didn't use, but if you like spice, I am sure it was good. We ended our meal by sharing a small order of the Mango Sticky Rice. It was delightful. The mango was perfectly ripe, the sticky rice was delicious, and it was topped with little crispies which we found out later was fried mung beans. A great ending to a great meal. We will definitely be back!

You order at the counter when you walk in, grab a seat, and they'll bring the food out to you. Everything else is totally self-serve--you grab your own water, utensils, and condiments. When you're finished, you bus your own table and drop your dishes at the return station. I ordered the pumpkin panang curry with fried chicken, and the portion size was massive! The curry was super rich, heavy, and packed a ton of flavor. The fried chicken held up really well with the sauce, too. The taste was definitely there, and you get a lot of food for what you pay. I'm really surprised that any reviews say the food is good, but if you eat a lot of Asian food and have a general standard for Thai or flavor, you will be super disappointed here. My concern is not with the meal; it is with the overall hospitality we received. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I observed differences in how guests were greeted and engaged. Some guests were welcomed with smiles, courtesy, and friendly conversation, while my own initial interaction felt more reserved and minimal in comparison. After being seated, I waited approximately 15 minutes before anyone offered me water, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. During that time, other tables around me were served water and received refills more promptly. I was waiting for my friend to arrive. Once my friend joined me, we were asked shortly after if we were ready to order, even though we had not yet had sufficient time to review the menu. Later, when we indicated that we were ready, the server took the menu and walked away without taking our order at that time. One interaction during the ordering process stood out. In general, I observed warm and friendly engagement between staff and other guests. When my friend asked a question, the response we received felt brief and less welcoming in tone and expression, which contributed to our overall impression of the interaction. Standing alone, a single expression or moment could be easily misread, and I would not base a review on that alone. However, within the context of the full experience, it contributed to our perception of inconsistency in service and attentiveness. That pattern continued throughout the meal. Some tables that ordered after us received their food before we did, and appeared to be served more quickly overall. We were also brought to-go boxes without requesting them while we were still eating and in conversation. This made us feel somewhat rushed to finish. The interaction when it came time to pay also felt brief and less engaging than expected. I can only speak to what I personally experienced. The concern here is not a single incident, but the overall pattern of service: delayed water, limited engagement at times, ordering delays, slower food timing compared to nearby tables, and feeling rushed toward the end of the meal. Again, the food was decent, and this review is primarily about the service. Based on our experience, the level of attentiveness and hospitality was inconsistent. For those reasons, my recommendation is maybe. Regardless of the cause, I believe every guest should receive consistent courtesy, professionalism, and attention.
