Discovered Kati Vegan Thai during ny recent trip to Seattle. I picked up Khao Soi on day one, it was so good, that I came back 2 days in a row. Tried Tom Kha with Artichoke hearts topped with garlic jackfruit , and pineapple fried rice. All the dishes were delicious. Also had their thai iced tea which was delicious. BEST VEGAN THAI PLACE! Had been to Kati Vegan Thai on my recent trip to Seattle. This place was super inclusive. They had a high chair for my baby, toys and even the cups and plates were baby-friendly. The staff was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The ambiance was minimal yet beautiful. The food was delicious. For appetizers, we ordered Kati Satay and Devil Wings. For the main course, we ordered curry fried rice with jackfruit meat. It was delicious. And I love that everything on the menu is vegan, not having friends have to ask for modifications or be stuck with just a handful of options (I'm an omnivore, so I always have options). My favorite dish here is the green curry, though I do like their other curries as well. I like getting it with the purple rice and it is something I always end up craving every now and then. My friends also really love the devil wings and satay. I usually get food tour go since I live pretty close, but the few times I have dined in have been a good experience. They loved it This is a small restaurant, the seating is pretty close together, but you still have some distance from the patrons around you. I love that it's got an outdoor feel as well, you could open the accordion doors to the outside and they were opened when we got there. Our waiter was nice and patient. I live about 2 blocks away and had never tried this place despite walking past all the time, so I decided to get dinner from here on a Thursday evening. I ordered ahead online, and the predicted pick up time was initially 30 minutes from order. Surprisingly, I got a text that my order was ready approximately 10 min later saying my food was ready for pick up! The restaurant is very cute, with a really nice covered outdoor seating area. A waitress noticed me waiting quite quickly, and immediately handed me my food. The food itself was still well warmed and really well packaged to make sure it wouldn't spill. I got a massaman curry and rice ($4 extra), for a total of $25. The amount of food was good for me for 2-3 servings. The curry was incredibly flavorful! Well spiced (but not spicy) and the potatoes and onions and tofu were cooked well. There were also full peanuts present to add flavor which were fine and added texture. The rice was fine, a bit more firm than I prefer but went well with the curry overall. One of the good thai options nearby, and definitely worth eating at even if you are not vegan! The cauliflower bombs and devil wings are spicy and even with a highish level of tolerance I could see myself reaching for water often! I wanted to love this place but sadly I don't. The menu had a good variety of classic Thai dishes, and the presentation was beautiful. That said, there was a distinctive flavor running through the dishes--something herbal that didn't quite sit right with me. It wasn't bad exactly, just unusual and not to my taste. It might be a specific root herb they used, but it was noticeable enough that it affected my overall enjoyment. This was heavily present in the pad keemao dish. Still, I can tell the kitchen puts care into their dishes, and many people would probably appreciate the unique flavor profile more than I did. My colleague recommended this Vegan Thai place for lunch. We started off with organic ginger hot tea and thai iced tea. Seattle has a lot of restaurants you can choose from but it is rare to see a restaurant that is 100% vegan and a Thai restaurant at that. This was enough to time to want to check this place out let alone all of the good things I've heard from others. The atmosphere here was nice and welcoming but a bit cold (so don't forget your jacket!). Customer service was great! Staff were friendly and quite helpful when asking for recommendations since we've never been here before. For an appetizer we ordered the gyoza. They were nice and crispy on the outside and juicy and flavorful on the inside. The sauce that came with the dish paired quite nicely. For dinner we ordered the curry fried rice and the pad thai. The rice was packed with a lot of flavor and tasted really good except the rice was a bit too dry for our taste and the vegetables were a tad bit undercooked. The pad thai was delicious and was probably my favorite this of the night. I love vegetables in my pad thai but that wasn't an option. Hopefully they can add that as an add on.
