I can't believe we missed this place for so long. We recently heard about them from friends and decided to have dinner at Far Eats after a walk in Olympic Sculpture park. I had to get Pani Puri as soon as I saw it on their menu. It was so good, they make their own puri, and all other components of it. We loved it, according to me, the best pani puri in the Seattle area. We also got Masala Chai, it was great chai and it comes with Parle G biscuits. Took me back to dhaba's in India that serve Parle G with chai. We then got Kheema pav, and Onion Masala Dosa. The dosa was good, we would like to try Mysore Masala dosa next time, it would be a little spicier. We loved the Kheema Pav, they make their own pav which makes a huge difference. The service when I picked up my order was excellent. They have a lot of vegan curries which is awesome! Also many vegetarian choices too. The seating area looked nice enough when I went in to pick up our items. I would recommend this for Indian food that considers dietary restrictions. For me, the medium vindaloo wasn't very spicy at all, but I have a decent spice tolerance so that could just be me. If you really like spicy, you might go for hot. read more

Their Caesar salad i order regularly is always delicious. But the guy that took my order on this day was a jerk. I asked for double the chicken, and he acted like he was going to have to go hunt the extra fowl to meet my request. It was weird and unusual service for this restaurant. Fortunately, after hearing the guy getting super frustrated with me and his computer system, the chef came from the kitchen and quickly solved the issue with kindness and a smile. Quaint small restaurant conveniently located near hotel. Service was excellent and food was very good. Butter chicken - flavorful and lots of sauce for rice and naan to dip in. A bit on the tangy side Lamb curry - didn't try because it was husband's dish but he said it was good. Bowl looks deceptively small but it's a filling portion Garlic naan - not what I'm used to, more like soft pita bread but was so good. Warm and soft and perfect for dipping. I ate here today because I work right around the corner, and I was very impressed! The customer service was top notch! The person at the counter was so kind as to explain menu options to me and vegetarian options as well. They were relatively quick getting my food to me as well. The restaurant had a nice decor and was very clean. The prices were decent. Because I am vegetarian, I ordered the Chana Masala to go, which is a tomato curry dish with Garbanzo beans and cilantro. It was very good! I highly recommend this dish. I had it with Garlic Naan and the Naan was also tasty! The food was warm and well prepared. We visited Seattle last week and, after a quick cereal breakfast at our hotel, headed out to explore the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass. By around 3:30 p.m., we were extremely hungry. Our original plan was to eat at Sangamam, but unfortunately, they were closed for a break between 3.00 and 5.00 p.m. and we had to leave for airport at 5.00. Thankfully, Far Eats Cafe was open nearby, and since we were craving dosas, we decided to give it a try. We ordered two masala dosas and one Mysore masala dosa. When our food arrived, we expected sambar to be served shortly, especially since there were only two very small bowls on our plates--one with coconut chutney, and the other with a yellowish-green, watery substance. We waited, thinking the sambar was coming, but soon realized that was it. We've never seen anything like it called "sambar" before. It had no recognizable flavor or texture--more like plain boiled moong dal than traditional sambar. There were no curry leaves, no mustard seeds, no vegetables, and none of that characteristic aroma or orangish color that you'd expect. As for the dosas, they were a disappointment too. The crepe was paper-thin, brittle, and slightly bitter. The potato filling lacked flavor completely--just plain boiled potatoes with salt and turmeric, missing basic ingredients like curry leaves, mustard seeds, and onions. We're not even comparing this to dosas in India--even in the U.S., we've had much better and more authentic South Indian food. It's hard to understand how a dish like this could be served and marketed as "dosa with sambar." Overall, it was a deeply disappointing experience. read more

The dosa was decent, slightly crispy on the edge, with chili sauce and spiced potato. It's filling, and good for sharing. The Thali was mediocre. Nice and simple. Hidden in the lower queen anne hills. From the outside it Looks more like a vegan spot or corner market. The interior is nice and simple. The Food is nice and simple. Even their ourdoor eating space is nice and simple. Very clean. I ordered breakfast and dinner at the same time. Together the even out to an interesting lunch. The sun was out so I sat outside. I can't remember what the breakfast sandwich was called but it was pretty good. Not the best I've ever had, but still good. The bread it was on was nice and soft. I only wish is had a suace. Without sauce, the sandwich is dry. The curry was much better than the sandwich. I ordered their butter chicken. So good. Makes me winder what the other options taste like. A larger portion would have made me happier. Also the chicken was a bit over cooked and tough, but the flavors, so nice. My Chai was bursting with flavor, but light at the same time. There was a very minty or earthy kick to it that played very well with the cold milky flavors and spicy Chai. Their Mango cheese cake was very delicious, but is borderline not actually a cheese cake. More of a cross between flan, cheesecake, and pumpkin pie. Their Mango sauce drizzle was a nice touch. Very tangy and kick up the mild sweet flavors of the cheesecake. We were warmly greeted by the lady behind the counter and shown 2 tables that we could put together for a party of 5. This is an upscale restaurant with reasonable prices. Service was quick and friendly. We were early so the chef brought out some of our dishes and provided some accompanying descriptions. The lamb Biryani that I ordered was enough for two. Granted we did have several appetizers which were all very good. The various meats we ordered were very tender (we did cross-sample each others). I feel I should have visited this place sooner. Better late than never. We went here on a Saturday for lunch. The staff is amicable and always willing to help you, especially if you're new to the cuisine. As far as preparation time is concerned, our entire order was ready to be served within 10 minutes. The place has a pleasant vibe with exquisite designs and carvings on the tables, along with captivating murals. I like the flexibility in their menu items according to the time of the day. In the locality, I'd say this is one of the best places for Dosas (thin crepe-like crispy Indian pancakes). The "Mysore Masala Dosa" was very delightful. The potatoes inside were nicely smashed and had a thick paste of spices. The dosa got served with three chutneys (semi-liquid sauces), which comprised a red, yellow, and white coconut relish. We also had the "Tellicherry Chicken" (black pepper chicken in south Indian style), which comes with Basmati (long-grain) rice. It was terrific. I'd recommend choosing the spice level as 'Hot,' but you will not go wrong with either one. The "Samosa Chole Chaat" (mixture of Indian fried turnover pies with spices) was also pretty good. However, it would have been better if the dish had been a bit spicier. It would make it more flavorful. We tried the "Masala Chai" (Indian tea with aromatic spices) served with two small cookies, which was a decent beverage. At the end of the lunch, "Mango Lassi" (the Indian version of a milkshake) was a great delicacy that refreshed us completely. Apparently, it is an incredible 40-year-old recipe and is much different than Mango Lassis at other restaurants. Overall, the place is a must-visit if you want to try South Indian cuisine. read more

I've been waiting so long for this place to open! In addition to a clever name, Far Eats offers an amazing menu with a huge variety of Indian street food favorites. We stopped by a couple weeks after their grand opening and had a veggie puff pastry for a snack. It was DELICIOUS. Warm, buttery, flaky, and filled with spiced vegetables and lentils. We chatted with the owners (a husband and wife team?) and they were so friendly and warm. They walked us through the menu and the nice thing about it is they offer wine and beer in addition to coffee, and a dinner menu in addition to breakfast and lunch items. I'm seeing more and more of this concept in the new places around town and I really like the day-to-night flexibility. My one disappointment is they don't offer outdoor seating, but that's no fault of their own--the building isn't really set up for it. We plan on being regulars here! read more

Immediately when you walk in the place smells amazing! The owner was there when we visited and she is so very warm, welcoming, and excited. And the food is definitely worth being excited over. We had Dahi Puri, Butter Naan, Tellichery Chicken, Saag Paneer, Chai Tea, Indian Beer. The food comes quickly and to you custom heat/spice preference. The chai tea was the real deal, I'm very glad I tried it. It's a comfortable environment away from the busy streets nearby. Visited for takeout just before the end of lunch service on a Tuesday. I was warmly greeted by the two employees working and directed to peruse the menus right by the register. I ordered a Lamb Wrap and Tellicherry Chicken and sat at a table to wait as the restaurant was empty aside from one other patron. It was very clean, bright, and airy so a nice place to spend some time. Despite the note on the menu that the Tellicherry Chicken may take 20 minutes, my food was ready to go in less than 10, which was awesome. I didn't try the lamb wrap but the person who did said it was filling and tasty. I ordered the Tellicherry Chicken "medium" and it definitely wasn't spicy enough, so I'd go with "hot" if you're looking for some actual spice; however the flavors were good. For the price, I would've liked a bit more rice but I'd definitely return to try more of their lunch specials in the future. read more

Ambiance is nice and location is fairly convenient if you live in belltown. Food is average at best. Prices are quite high and the taste doesn't justify. I would come here next time only if I am hungry and want to grab a quick lunch. But this is not the place I would go to if I have time and want to eat something nice. We ordered biryani, pani poori, and vada pav. Pani poori - It was missing the mango water and had yogurt and chutney mixed into one cup. I didn't like what I got. Biryani - did not taste like authentic biryani. Vada Pav - was okay. I think I am still a bit biased by the Vada Pav I have eaten at Nirmals. But no complaints. I'm always surprised when I don't see more people here! The ambience and service are lovely, and the variety of Indian food, particularly Indian snack food (always a rarity in Seattle), is quite impressive. We enjoyed the Bhel, pani puri, and tellichery chicken. The baingan bharta had a lovely smoked flavor to it, but it came with peas, which was a bit odd. The chai was better than most other Indian restaurants in Seattle, but still not quite the flavor of homemade chai. We can't wait to try a full Thali for lunch sometime. read more

This review is only based on the Mysore Masala Dosa. I have been missing Dosas so much since moving so I chose this spot to try. The potatoes were not that spicy and the potatoes in the Dosa were very little so a lot of my Dosa didn't have potatoes in as you can see in the picture. The Dosa side dipping sauces were OK. The variety of Indian food that Far Eats Cafe serve, is extensive and not something I have seen in Seattle. Mumbai fast food - I must say they serve an Amazing veg puff. You would not have seen an Indian veg puff anywhere in Seattle. I loved their Vada Pav. One thing that puts them apart from any other Indian fast food restaurant is, the quality of their Pav. They bake their own Pav, which is so good. They have chat options too. South Indian food - I loved almost all their dosas, especially Mysore Masala and Ghee dosa. They were crisp and tasty North Indian food - The North Indian curries they serve, are good. They take care that the curries are not very spiced, and oily. However, I am someone who likes to have some spice, hotness & butter in my curries. I mention them my requirements, and they cater to it perfectly. Desserts - They serve some homemade indian desserts, and I loved them. Their homemade Mango ice cream stood apart. read more

Get. The. Dosas. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, really, but the dosas are so much fun to eat! They come on a platter with three accompanying sashes to drip into: a red sauce (tomato base I think), yellow sauce (lentil base possibly), and a coconut sauce with spices. I certainly savored every bite. The mango lassi was also delightful! Fruity, and refreshing. For the main dish, we ordered the charred eggplant dish which came with a side of rice.
