I am in Seattle visiting with my parents for the USA vs Australia World Cup game. We decided to go to Aerlume for happy hour after I saw some great reviews on Google. The experience exceeded my expectations, specifically for exceptional service! As we walked in the door, the hostess was super friendly. We sat at the large high-top table with the fire pit nearest to the hostess stand with a view of the water. Our server, Amber, consistently went above and beyond and carried herself with a bubbly and positive aura. She guided our selections of fries, fish tacos, salmon mousse, and tuna poke bites and frequently checked on us to make sure we were doing okay. Amber was also very professional and polite when she cleared plates and dropped off the drinks and food. Speaking of the food, every dish had great presentation. I wouldn't say the taste was out of the world but everything was still good and worth the price. The two hours we spent there flew by and by the time we decided to wrap up, all three of us were commenting on the great service (which led me to write this review). As a final gesture of hospitality by the restaurant, the hostess let my mom keep the bar purse hook that was given to her to hang her purse. My best description of the overall experience is what the new generation describes as "mid". For an over $300 tab, our server checked on us approximately 3 times, the introduction, to take our drink/appetizer order, and to take our dinner order. Following the initial three visits, the last time we were visited was to ask if we wanted dessert, to which I asked for the check. The manager, Scott, filled in the gap of noticing when my partner was low on a beverage and checking to see if we liked our food. Taste is subjective, however, it was shocking to experience the lack of the most basic seasonings... salt. The most minuscule amount would have made a difference. I would have asked for some but again, there wasn't much of an opportunity. The steak which costed $79, seemed to lack a salted seared crust. The $16 dollar foraged and sautéed mushroom, might as well been foraged tossed in a frying pan to make them soggy without the slightest hint of salt, pepper, or even butter. The reviews seemed decent and the views looked beautiful but if you're looking to spend money on a nice evening, I would suggest looking elsewhere, as I would take okay service and great food over okay service and okay (expensive) food. read more

I want to start off by saying we had excellent service from our server and our food was pretty good as well. However, everything crashed when we received our check and realized this restaurant ownership group is one that tips themselves an additional 20% of your bill simply for allowing you to dine via a "service charge" and doesn't share a dime of that forced gratuity with their waitstaff, pushing us into the moral conundrum of providing double gratuity (one for them without your consent, and one with consent for the individual who actually worked for it), or allowing your server to work for a non-living wage. We might understand this concept for large groups or special events, but we were a party of 2 simply trying to enjoy a nice dinner. In an industry where the consumer already subsidizes your workers, this service charge concept could not be more repugnant. Your greed is as unappetizing as an ill-prepared meal and we will not be back or recommend this to anyone. read more

I came across Aerlume as I was looking for a somewhat fancy restaurant to have dinner with a view of the water. It was a simple process to make a reservation on their website, and I was even able to make a note that I was celebrating my birthday. Aerlume is right next to Pike's Place, so finding parking may be a challenge but don't let that discourage you from trying it out. Service was amazing and the food was really good too. While waiting for my appetizer, the chef brought me a steak sashimi amuse bouche that was absolutely delicious!! My mouth is watering thinking about it. I kept it light with the citrus marinated beets as my appetizer. Although I don't usually eat beets, I thought this dish was so good! For my main course, I got the C.A.B. filet mignon. The steak was cooked perfectly and everything tasted so good together. I was amazed by the how thick the asparagus was! I did inhale my food quite fast so I passed on dessert in favor of hot tea, but their dessert selection also sounded yum. I regret not getting the carrot cake. I had a great experience dining here and would love to eat outside in the future! Also, if you're wondering, I don't believe there's a dress code. Beautiful waterfront views, memorable dishes, and a great spot for a special occasion. We came here to celebrate our friend's birthday and had such a fun experience overall. The ambiance alone makes this place feel special. There is bar seating around a fireplace near the entrance, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water, and even a balcony with a few outdoor tables. We came around sunset, and the views were absolutely beautiful. We ordered a mix of shareables, entrees, and sides and shared everything family style. Standout starters for me were the Peruvian Steak Bites, which were incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The Yellowfin Tuna Poke was another favorite. It was light, fresh, had a slight kick, and I loved that it came with crispy rice paper instead of the usual chips, which gave it a nice texture and made it feel a little different. The Crispy Cauliflower was also very good. Crispy on the outside, hot and flavorful on the inside, and the creamy aioli paired really well with it. We also added the bone marrow butter with thin sliced toasted bread instead of the traditional sourdough, and that ended up being a great choice. For entrees, the Fried Half Chicken was one of the stronger dishes. The skin was super crispy, the chicken was tender and juicy inside, and the honey mustard aioli paired really well with it. Portion sizes on the entrees were generous. The Heritage Berkshire Farms Pork Shank was also excellent. The pork was so tender it practically fell off the bone, and the mango sauce worked really well with it. The Dungeness and Rock Crab Mac and Cheese came out piping hot in a clay pot, which I loved. I was hoping for a little more crab, but it was still enjoyable. The Wild Alaska Black Cod had a beautifully crispy skin, but flavor-wise this was probably the one dish that fell a little short for me. The sausage that came with it had a nice spice, but I did not feel like it paired particularly well with the cod. A couple smaller notes. The sticky rice with the chicken was softer and mushier than what I usually expect from sticky rice. The brussels sprouts had a nice garlicky flavor with a slight kick, but were a little softer than I personally prefer. Service was a little mixed. Our waiter did provide some good recommendations, but the warmth and attentiveness felt inconsistent depending on who at our table was asking. I also asked for an iced espresso with milk and got a comment about them not being Starbucks, which felt a little unnecessary. On the positive side, food came out quickly, and I appreciated that they cleared and reset the table between courses, which made the meal feel elevated. To end the night, they treated our birthday girl to a complimentary dessert and let us choose anything from the dessert menu. It's been a while since I went somewhere with truly excellent service. Everyone from beginning to end, was truly emanating happiness and pleasure towards each other and the guests. It felt lovely! I frequently go to the market, to people watch, find new bites, enjoy happy hour, you know, just to relax. I happened to see a gentleman placing an Open sign in front of a hidden away, but pretty looking bar. It piqued my interest and I wanted to find out, was it a bar? A hotel lobby? A restaurant? It's very easy to walk past. Turns out, they have the hospitality and great food and an even better bar menu. Lots of fun options for cocktails, mocktails, and zero-proof to delight all tastebuds. Food wise: We enjoyed the Crab Cakes, which came with a nice mayo based sauce, pickled red onion, and arugula to cut through the richness. SO good! We also indulged in the Octopus, which was the most tender and flavorful we have yet to find in Seattle! There was good char and the same mayo but very flavorful sauce as the crab cake. I think in that regard, the crab cake could use an additional sauce on the opposite side to liven it up a touch. Maybe a jelly somethin-somethin? Finally, since bread was on the menu, we had to check it out. It was really well done sourdough and a darker wheaty/rye (can't remember, sorry!) and it came with a cranberry fig butter, that I assumed was seasonal and likely to change in the warmer months. I could be wrong and wouldn't be mad if they kept it year round. They also have a great happy hour that I looked forward to checking out. It's a beautiful spot, and even better to find out they're apart of the El Gaucho family! I always want to make my way back to Aqua or El Gaucho, and honestly just don't make the time. This is a convenient stop for me as I mosey along at the Market a couple times a month, so I am really glad I found this gem of a spot! I met with the General Manager, Scotty, and he seems like a standout guy! Came here on the weekend during happy hour. Their happy hour is from 4-6pm Tuesday to Saturday. We got 3 bites item and 1 dessert item. For the bites, we ordered the crispy fish taco, aerlume burger, and bone marrow fries. I think the food here is just alrighty, it's not bad and it's not that great. The crispy fish taco was crunchy and a little sour, fish was okay, flavor was decent. The aerlume burger is very mediocre, it just taste like something homemade. Bone marrow fries is like regular fries, I don't taste any bone marrow. I do like their dessert, we got the carrot cake, it was delicious and the pistachio ice cream that came with it pairs very well with the cake. Cake is not too sweet, big portion, can be shared with 2-3 people. Overall, I think food is just okay. Nothing too impressive that I would come back to. Everything we had was incredible but what blew me away was their GLUTEN FREE Buttermilk Fried Chicken!! If they hadn't mentioned it was GF I never would have known. But laying claim to a namesake by association doesn't make you part of the family. The service was solid, and the staff were attentive--especially the gentleman who mentioned he'd been there for three years, along with the person refilling our water. Both did a great job. Some dishes stood out in a good way. The crispy cauliflower, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, and the seasonal vegetarian option (mushroom "steak" with Jamaican seasonings) were all satisfying and well-executed. However, two items gravely missed the mark. The garlic chili oil Brussels sprouts were disappointing--mushy, lacking texture, and fairly one-dimensional. They tasted like boiled sprouts with chili oil, without any sweetness or contrast to balance the heat. A bit more creativity--something like dried fruit, nuts, maple syrup or cheese--could have added depth and interest. The biggest letdown was the roasted "half" chicken. First, the portion was noticeably less than half --closer to a breast, part of a wing, and a very small drumstick. Second, it looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long--dry and uninspired. At $36 (plus the mandatory 15% gratuity charge and tax that would be over $45), it was not a good value. Over cooking scallops or getting the temperature wrong on a steak might be understandable. But missing the mark on a $45.00 chicken? Honestly, I would have preferred a simple rotisserie. We came in to celebrate our anniversary on Friday. Early during the day I received a call from the restaurant asking for my partners name. When we sat down they had put a card with both our names to wish us a happy anniversary. The table had both chairs facing the amazing view of the Puget Sound. You could watch ferries leaving and coming back. I noticed it was quite warm in there not sure if that was the windows or not, but it didn't both us too much! Our waiter was very personable and helpful. He was attentive and helped answer any questions we had. Most of the menu is gluten free which is a huge plus for me! We had the poke to start, it was very refreshing and the waiter mixed it at the table. This was a highlight! We enjoyed the wasabi based sauce, it was quite a bit lighter than other wasabi I've had. We then ordered the scallops, black cod, dungeness mac and cheese, and the brussel sprouts. The scallops were just okay the actual scallops lacked a bit of flavor, but they were cooked perfectly! The black cod was definitely the highlight of the entrees. I loved the crispy skin and sauce served. The dungeness mac and cheese could be made gluten free and it was fantastic. It wasn't too rice just the right amount of sauce and crab. The brussel sprouts were really good, flash fried and then covered with chili oil. I wish there was a bit more sodium on this one. Aerlume is a beautiful restaurant right on the waterfront with delicious food. I came for Seattle Restaurant Week, and had the coconut congee soup, the pork shank with tropical fruit chutney and brussels sprouts, and the dessert duo. The congee was a perfect thickness, with flavors you don't usually have in congee...but it works! It's a nice and light way to start the meal. It's a shame that you don't see pork shank on more restaurant menus, because it is a criminally underrated cut of meat. The shank at Aerlume falls completely off the bone with just a nudge of your fork. The rich savory flavor of the meat is perfectly complemented by the sauce and the chutney, which brightens it all up and keeps it from becoming overly heavy in your mouth and stomach. Brussels on the side are your standard incredibly crispy sprouts. We also ordered the bread and butter off the a la carte menu, just to try. The breads are excellent, and you can definitely taste the ube in the ube butter, but in my opinion this is one of those cases where adding ube just isn't necessary. They did forget about our bread, so this didn't show up for us until we asked about it most of the way through our meal. The dessert duo is made up of a square of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and a chocolate crunch bar -- devastatingly smooth chocolate mousse on top of a thin crunchy wafer with raspberry sauce on the side. I appreciated the variety of flavors and textures. It was the perfect way to round out the meal. We had an excellent meal, accompanied by great service. Staff are friendly and offered nice touches like a card to celebrate a colleague's birthday. Sadly, I'm not a fan of the food. Fried cauliflower gets lost in heavy batter. The stale taco shells filled with small pieces of fried and flavorless fish were left on everyone's plates. Roasted beets looked pretty but were dry. And the crab melt was a creamy mess- if there was fresh crab in the pile, I couldn't find it. To be fair, the server warned me that it wasn't a popular choice. I should've listened. Fabulous restaurant overlooking the sound! Walked in on a weeknight and was immediately wowed by the views and ambience. We were promptly seated and ordered appetizers - peruvian steak bites, crispy cauliflower, grilled spanish octopus, marinated beets. For the main course we ordered - Wild Alaskan Black Cod, Scallops & Halibut. For desserts we got their chocolate crunch bar, coffee cheesecake & carrot cake. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The flavors were on point, seafood was fresh, tasty well seasoned and I dont think there was any dish we ordered that wasnt that great. Their cocktails are beyond amazing! My family and I love visiting Aerlume for dinner, they have one of the best dining views in the city if not the best and most of their menu is quite good! The menu also rotates so you can try different variations of their dishes. Some dishes are excellent, some can be skipped, but the average dish is pretty good. I hadn't been for their Happy Hour yet, so checked it out with my brother last week. I really enjoyed the small bites and the daiquiris, my favorites from the Happy Hour included the steak bites, smoked salmon rillette, and tuna poke bites. We also ordered the smoked lamb carbonara which was interesting and definitely worth trying. I have to add on a star for the service as well - the service staff are very friendly, helpful, and welcoming every time. It was my birthday week so I received a comped dessert and a birthday note card with petals, which was a very nice touch. I was lucky enough to get invited to a sponsored event here and was completely blown away. What an absolutely stunning space. I've been around this area so many times but never noticed this restaurant. And oh my God they have the most amazing balcony and view. Service here was absolutely exceptional. They were so kind as well as being upscale and elegant. The food itself was fantastic. We had an amazing steak and the salad and their ability to accommodate dietary restrictions like gluten-free were absolutely out of this world. Our reservation was for nine, but we had a last-minute addition from Vancouver. The portion sizes are large, making it easy to share with a group. I booked Aerlume for our 22nd anniversary dinner and we weren't disappointed. The card and flowers were a really nice touch. My wife enjoyed a June Gloom mocktail and we both agreed it was a hit. We started with the bread & butter and crispy cauliflower which my wife wasn't a fan of. I'm not sure I would order again but it was tasty enough. Black cod is my absolute favorite but my wife ordered that and it hit the mark. Delicious and cooked to perfection. As I hate ordering the same thing I went with the king salmon and also wasn't disappointed. Crispy skin and perfect temperature. We were too full for dessert so I can't comment on any of those but I would absolutely return to Aerlume again for another special occasion. The absolute best upscale restaurant I have been to in the greater Seattle area. My girlfriend booked this place on my birthday and this has been the best ambience I have experienced in a long long time. We tried a bunch of cuisines and in short all of them were exquisite. For starters, we got marinated beets - hands down that was the best beet recipe I ever had. I don't know how you can make beets so flavourful. For mains I went for King Salmon. It was really good. I probably liked the mushrooms and potatoes in the dish even more. As for the flavour profile of salmon, it didn't really stand out but overall the recipe was still above average. Meanwhile my gf tried a veg version of Goat Cheese Agnolotti. It was pretty good especially the goat cheese. We also tried the two mocktail flavours - must say Pike Place Sipper which was a lavender based cocktail is again the best mocktail I have tried. Very rich flavours. For desserts we had Coffee Cheesecakes. My girlfriend loved it because they were able to make a gluten free version of it - in her words this was one of her best cheese cakes ever given it was gluten free. The restaurant treated us with very warm hospitality and service. This being a special occasion I am sure we got one of the best dining seats available. Loved the experience, loved the ambience of Aerlume. Not to forget they made the dessert complimentary - can't say enough of how good this place was. read more

Hosted a company buy-out dinner here and the entire event was 10/10. The staff is phenomenal - attentive, helpful, and nice. The bartenders were very quick but also made sure the drinks were made perfectly. The inside is beautiful, and on a nice day the views are stunning. They also were very flexible with us decorating certain spaces and allowing us to make a custom drink menu. I've been at many company buy outs, and the food always takes a hit due to the volume of guests - but NOT here! Everything was cooked perfectly and the tuna was some of the best I've ever had. People are still talking about the event and I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

I came in right when Aerlume opened at 4 PM, and even though I had a reservation just to be safe, it was worth it from the moment I sat down. I started with the grilled Spanish octopus -- perfectly tender and full of flavor. For my entrée, I had the halibut and added seared scallops along with a fresh, flavorful salad. Every dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. The service was excellent -- attentive, friendly, and professional. And that water view? Absolutely stunning. It's the perfect backdrop for an incredible dining experience. I will definitely be recommending Aerlume to friends and family, and I can't wait to come back. read more

Dear Aerlume, I am so sorry that tonight's dinner did not meet my idea of a wonderful dinner. We had a lovely dinner here last April. I must admit that only one of the starters/small plates was amazing. The Califlower was great, but the steak bites were left uneaten, too acidic! The wrong kind of acid. My $75 tenderloin was not even the proper cut of steak, and it was not cooked properly. I am a food critic and feel sad that this place is far down on my list of favorite places in Seattle. I hope you pick up your game and make this restaurant a truly special place, not just another chain. read more

Beautiful restaurant, with a nice view of the water! We came here to celebrate my birthday and they seated us at the best seat in the room just before sunset. There was a card already on the table when we arrived - a nice touch to the warm and inviting space. The service was wonderful and the food was everything we had hoped for. The halibut was a sizable portion, as were the side of mushrooms (criminis and other wilds). The drinks were unique and memorable, as was the dessert. The only downside to the whole evening had to do with the acoustics of the space - as it filled in it became so loud we couldn't hear each other from across the table. Parking was very convenient directly under the restaurant and was a flat rate for entering after 4 or 5pm on a weeknight. All in all it was lovely and is one of my new favorite local restaurants! I won a gift card from a drawing to visit one of the Reveler's restaurants in Seattle so my husband and I chose to visit one of the restaurants we have walked by so many times but never went in because of the prices. This place is not cheap, I won't lie. But it is absolutely delicious. Before I talk about the food, though, let me mention the view. It is one of the most beautiful views in the city, overlooking the Puget Sound with islands and the Olympic Mountains in the distance. We went on a gorgeous day and could see ferries and sailboats on their voyages which is the quintessential Seattle water view. Even though we didn't sit on the deck outside, we still had a fantastic view from inside the restaurant. It is a cozy restaurant without being pretentious. And my husband and I absolutely loved the open kitchen and being able to see the chefs in their elements. When we were led to our table, the staff had put out a lovely personalized note welcoming us to our date-night out accompanied with rose petals down the length of the table. We saw rose petals on other tables too, so I don't know if this is something they do for everyone, but it felt special. Our waiter was fantastic and attentive without coming back too often: the perfect combination! They also brought us two complimentary bites of fresh scallops with fennel, chutney, and something else that I wish I could remember. It was such a small bite but bursting with flavor. Absolutely delicious. When it came to the food we ordered, my husband and I decided to try quite a few different things. For an appetizer, we got the homemade duck tacos which were divine. They come with three tacos; the one I had was FABULOUS and my husband loved his too. He did mention the second of his taco shells was a little chewy, but I am guessing that is because it was slightly thicker as they are homemade and so have a bit of variation. For mains, we got the Smoked Lamb Carbonara and CAB Filet Mignon which was DIVINE. We also got the El Gaucho Mac & Cheese and an add-on of Seared Sea Scallops which came on what I think was a muhammara and full of flavor. I personally loved everything; it was very different and everything was truly so flavorful. I will mention that the carbonara is not your normal carbonara, so if you are expecting something authentic then this is not it. It is actually quite sweet and minty while the lamb mixed in is incredibly smokey. If you aren't wanting something sweet, then I would avoid this dish. I still quite enjoyed it, but out of everything we had it was my least favorite. Everything else was *chef's kiss* Our waiter also went above and beyond and actually applied an additional $50 off coupon that was expiring that day and we didn't even know about! So the gift card we thought would only last one dinner is actually going to last two, which is fantastic. One thing to note is Aerlume servers are paid based on commission of their sales, so additional gratuities/tips are not expected. Of course, you can leave something extra, but don't need to. I understand technically you don't need to anywhere, but most other places do expect it. That isn't true here. There is also an additional 20% service charge on all items regardless of the number in your party, so keep that in mind when budgeting out your dinner. Note that gift cards or points do not cover service charge, tax, or additional gratuity, so bring another way to pay. We will 100% be back again and are excited to try the rest of the the Revelers restaurants in Washington! read more
