This has been on my list for a fancy dinner or occasion and got lucky to experience this for my company work gathering. We had brunch here and they had a limited menu of savory and sweet items, ranging from a breakfast burrito and cage free omelet to brioche French toast and buttermilk pancakes. I got the cage free omelet with the choice of Parisian ham, bell red peppers and cheddar cheese. They also had a choice of wild mushroom, kale and fontina and bacon, onion and Gruyère cheese. The potatoes that came along with the omelets were excellent! Really loved these and they were buttery! There was also a side/choice of toast and I got sourdough, 4 slices came with this! I also got the Vanilla Latte which was refreshing! We had a private room and it was beautiful overlooking the views of Seattle that included ferry boats, the smith tower and sports stadiums. The restaurant overall is beautiful inside!

Very mid for the price you pay. Went with a group of seven. Service was HORRENDOUSLY slow. It was not full - only the perimeter seats were taken. Twenty minutes went by between ordering and receiving a cocktail. They seemed to have ample staff - it was a mystery why everything took so long. The charcuterie board was nice and the Goddess Caesar was really good. The $68 ribeye was the thinnest I've ever seen. Half an inch or less and lots of gristle (not marbling) Flavorless. Came with very plain mashed potatoes and some good Brussels sprouts. I didn't touch the mushrooms. They looked dried out and awful. Side note - nearly every entree comes with mushrooms in some form which sucks. Two people in our group despise mushrooms - why are they so heavy on the menu? The couple next to us had a small child that they allowed to watch an iPad at maximum volume. Multiple staff members just walked by. Patrons were looking at each other in disbelief. It took another patron from across the room (it was THAT loud) to walk over and ask them to turn it down. A server dropped a bottle of wine on the floor, spilling it. He picked it back up and started serving it to the guests. At the end of our meal, we were told at 20% service charge was already added to the bill, but that was for kitchen staff. If we wanted anything to go to the server, that was extra. Excuse me....what? $1000 bull, $200 service charge, and they want another $200 for the server? No. The desserts were decent. Wasn't sure about the melon and chocolate combo, but the chocolate itself was rich and tasty. The bathrooms are all mirrors with a co-ed hand washing area. Kind of weird, too. All in all, just a strange experience. I can't see myself ever wanting to go back. We got there at 6:30 and couldn't leave until 10pm. SO SLOW!

3.5 Let's start off with the good. Space was beautiful, incredible views, fortunate to get a table at the window and just absolutely gorgeous. Our service staff was great, appropriate amount of attention. Drinks were off the charts, I will be thinking about the Maya drink for a while, want one everyday. The rest of the meal was mid, not worth the high end prices, they tried, great presentation. I got the sole and just didn't hit the mark, lacked flavor and texture in the dish. My husband got the pork duo and was fine. Again nothing to write home about. Both salads, beet and Cesar, were good. Where they really missed was dessert, we ordered the pear tart. Way too sweet, way too much going on. Will go back for happy hour for sure though.

Had breakfast here 3 days during our stay and loved everything we tried. Had the chicken and waffles which was delicious and used brown meat for the chicken. Loved that the butter had Korean spice to it and the batter wasn't too heavy. It would have probably benefitted from resting it a bit longer to get more oil off of it and the waffle could use a bit more flavor. Eggs were consistently fluffy. The crab toast with a jammy egg was difficult to eat but delicious and didn't skimp on the crab. The Lotte drink was boozy and delicious and came with a fresh fruit garnish. Service was good--seated almost immediately or you could wait for a table to turn over at the window. But there were lots of options for seats that offered a water view. People seemed to mostly be guest of the hotel and the staff was gracious and asked about peoples activities and remembered guests from previous days. Overall service was far superior to other hotels.

I come here on Saturday night sometimes to listen to the live music. The food and drinks are delicious, and the dessert is gorgeous. More than anything, I treasure the ambiance and the skyline view.

A nice space located on the 16th floor of the Lotte Hotel, around the corner from the hotel's front desk. The restaurant and lounge provide excellent views of downtown Seattle and glimpses of Elliott Bay. The HH lounge staff were great and the restaurant front of the house and wait staff were also welcoming. There is a nice ambiance at this place. I noticed on some other recent reviews mentions of slow service, that was not our experience. We started out the evening enjoying happy hour which is a daily thing from 2 - 6 pm at Charlotte. A couple white wines and old fashioneds and Truffle Fries got us going. We then transition to the main dining area to begin dinner. We kept it simple this evening. Starting out with west coast oysters on the half shell (which were delicious by the way). Next up were our entrees. Charlotte offers a Price fixed and A la carte option for dinner. We went with the A la carte choosing the Sautéed Black Cod which included vadouvan crusted black cod, fall squash, chanterelles, kaffir lime jus, and pickled fresno pepper. The cod was moist and delicious and the plating was exceptional. My wife chose the Baked Rockfish which came with preserved lemon beurre blanc, braised potato, fennel confit, and shaved fennel salad. this was another well plated dish. Once again, the Rockfish was moist not overcooked and delicious! Both dishes were seasoned well for our tastes. This is a restaurant to which we will return. The food was great but the views while lounging, fantastic!

Such a wonderful dinner! My friend had his birthday dinner here. They had booked the private room so all of the guys were going crazy over the view. I didn't take a peak but I could see the waterfront from my seat and it was great. We were seated in the first private room from the dining area. Fairly large space with a couch and tv. Service was so nice. We had one staff tending to our group and he was great! Super patient with us. I started with the salted beet salad and ordered the rock fish as my entree. Both dish were delicious! The salad was so fresh and loved that the dressing wasn't over powering the salad and beets itself. The rock fish was a perfect portion for me. Fish was flaky and buttery at the same time without being fishy. The sauce that was underneath really tied everything together. I had such a great dinner here. I'll definitely save this spot for future events.

Located at the top of the Lotte hotel in downtown Seattle, this place boasts views of the city. The interior is spacious and open, featuring a lounge for casual dining as well as the back half space for more formal meal service. They even have suites you can book. There are limited tables in meal service overlooking the waterfront, so you would want to book reservations and make a note of it if you want one of the more coveted seats. I went here with a friend around 2:30pm to catch up and have a drink, so we chilled at the lounge area, but we were still able to roam around and check out the back half of the restaurant space. We got the daiquiri (from happy hour) and the Violet Femmes (from regular priced signature menu) which is their newer cocktails in honor of Pride. The Violet Femmes was fairly delicious and colorful, but I expected more color than purple and blue if Pride, since I had a drink before at another place in Seattle that literally had rainbow layered colors. $20 before tax and mandatory 20% gratuity is a bit steep, but you are paying a bit of a premium for the nice city views. The drink was good, just not good enough at the price point. Service was decent with some water refills, but a bit uncertain since the service is a bit occasional at the lounge. I can see this place to be nice for special occasions, but it is a premium space and restaurant

We had a fantastic anniversary dinner here. Did the full tasting menu and was impressed. A lot of times when we've done that some of the dishes miss the mark on taste (favoring presentation over flavor) This was not the case. The only miss was an over cooked steak and when the staff were notified the corrected without issue.

Fantastic fine dining restaurant & lounge in the heart of downtown Seattle with fabulous views. Stopped by for dinner and was wowed by the views. We were promptly seated and ordered their espresso martini along with their delicious freshly baked bread, potato leek soup, seared halibut & flourless chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Service was top notch. They have a few private rooms to have private dinners as well. Overall loved the ambience of this place and the food is delish as well. If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion or js treat yourself to a fancy dinner - Charlotte is the place to go.

This review is for lunch, and also lounge menu dinner. For lunch I had the stone pot rice, and citrus tart. Both were good! From the dinner lounge menu I had the truffle fries (needs to be shared, too much for 1 person), tamarind pork ribs (these were good), and the chocolate cake (would order again). Everything was as expected or better (I would come back for the desserts). Service was also great!

Very beautiful space and view is also amazing. The food is well made and tasted good. Had an Asian fusion twist which made the food more unique. Highly recommend the burger and chicken and waffles! The service was good and decently quick! Also tried the matcha pistachio cake and chocolate cake were decent but the chocolate was a little better in my opinion.

This is a great spot to meet up for lunch during the work week. My friend and I split the Turkey Panini and Bulgogi Cheese Steak Panini. Both sandwiches were tasty and came with a side of seasoned fries. The turkey panini was perfectly pressed with an appropriate amount of pesto. The bulgogi steak panini was flavorful and meat was tender. The menu is on the pricey side given it is located in a hotel with a water view from the 16th floor. Arnold Palmer and iced tea were $8.00 each!! Service was friendly and welcoming. We were told they were short waitstaff, but did not feel the effects during our visit.

Ask the Community - Charlotte Restaurant & Lounge

Hi, I'm trying to make a reservation online for 4, but the only option is to do an "experience" for $150 prixe fix. The website says a la carte is still an option though. The voice mailbox is full when I called. How can a reserve for a la carte?

I am unable to reserve table online for large party. Tried to call restaurant several times but no response. Please lmk how to reserve table for 13 people? Thank you.

Speak with Teveny. E mail is a good option.

For dinner does it have to be the choice of the course meal or can you order what ever you want?

No I just happen to go during restaurant week and ordered off of the Restaurant Week menu which was a selection of three options for each course.

Do you have a course menu?

Yes. It is choice of 3 or 4 course dinner.

How's the Togo menu and service like? Do I call ahead or is there an online? Where do i pick up the food?

Reservations highly recommended. At $150 for the 4 Course dinner it becomes an expensive takeout order - and you'll miss the view.

Is the 50% off promotion still going on?

Mon-Th until the end of this month.

Is parking validated if dining in? Also what is the dress code policy (if any)? Business casual?

Alyanna, we offer Valet parking at $15 for up to 3 hours for our restaurant guests. Dress code is smart casual/business casual.

    What is the price range?

Entrees start at $20 and can go up to $48.

While reservations aren't technically required, let me save you some heartbreak, make one. They only open reservations six days in advance, and this place fills up faster than brunch spots when the sun comes out in Seattle. Totally worth the planning. The experience starts downstairs at Tavern Law restaurant, where you let the host know you're headed to Needle and Thread. From there, you're directed to a mysterious locked door next to a telephone. Yes, an actual phone. Pick it up, give your reservation name once someone answers, and bam! You're buzzed upstairs like you've just passed a very classy secret test. Once inside, you're greeted and escorted to your seat, and the magic really begins. There's no drink menu because why limit creativity? Instead, the staff plays cocktail therapist, asking about your favorite spirits, flavors, and moods. Based on your answers, they craft a completely custom drink tailored to your palate. Every cocktail we tried was spot-on. Balanced, intentional, and clearly made by people who treat mixology like an art form rather than a guessing game. Bonus points: You can request the coaster they took your order on, which lists the ingredients so you can attempt to recreate it at home (results may vary depending on your confidence and liquor cabinet.) Not to be overshadowed by the drinks, the Sockeye Salmon Crostini was a fantastic fresh, flavorful appetizer and the perfect companion to a night of bespoke cocktails. They have other heartier food as well, but we had dinner reservations elsewhere for the evening. Between the immersive entrance, outstanding service, thoughtful drinks, and authentic speakeasy atmosphere, this isn't just a bar, it's an experience. If you're in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Needle and Thread is a must try.

Instagram : @yeapeats…read more I was excited to try Needle & Thread since it's often described as a speakeasy, but the "hidden" aspect didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.

I absolutely love this place. Such a great getaway, especially for couples. Be sure to make…read morereservations for the kind of seating that you want because they do have a couple of couches and places that put a little separation between you and your guest. They totally nailed the speakeasy vibe. Upscale and intimate. Service is fantastic.

I was first introduced to the Fairmont Olympic Hotel during a Yelp Elite event, where we received a…read moretour and got a glimpse of the Founders Club. I was so excited by the experience that I made a reservation to bring my partner there to end our anniversary night. I was expecting something more intimate and exclusive, especially since that was how it was presented during the Yelp event. When we arrived at the speakeasy at our reserved time, we were told it was not ready yet. We ended up waiting longer than expected, and when we finally received the text to come down, the door was already opening for a party that arrived after us. A big part of the Founders Club experience is the bookshelf entrance, and I had really hoped my partner could experience that excitement for the first time, but it ended up feeling a bit anticlimactic. Once inside, the space itself is nicely done and intimate, and the service was generally good. Prices are quite high for what we ordered, though they do provide complimentary fancy nuts, which was a nice touch. Overall, the vibes are good and I would like to return, but I hope the experience feels more curated and intentional for each party next time.
