This hotel restaurant was so perfect. The food was amazing & we had a wonderful server. We had some great recommendations. Tried the fish sandwich with tartar sauce, coleslaw without American cheese, the grilled lemon on the side was a nice touch. The Alder & Ash Burger has its own special sauce, grilled shallots & soft brioche buns. The fries on both dishes were perfectly seasoned.

Alder & Ash has a great vibe and atmosphere. We had a 7:30 p.m. reservation and the place was surprisingly empty--but don't be fooled. It gets packed during conferences and before theater shows. Let's talk food. The beef and pork meatballs were the stars of the night--definitely meat-forward, not overly herbed, garlicky, or spiced, and very satisfying. The tomato sauce was just okay, but the toasted bread was perfect for soaking up the gravy. The mushroom risotto was cheesy, super hot (temperature-wise), and a decent portion. Shrimp cocktail? Meh. What truly made the evening exceptional? The service!! Isaac and Allie--who were fantastic. Rock stars. Real, fun, authentic people who genuinely seem to love making guests happy. And the cherry on top? The chef surprised me with a chocolate mousse birthday treat and personally came out to serve it. Such a thoughtful touch. Would I come back? You bet. Even if it's just to see Isaac and Allie again.

While staying in the Sheraton, I was looking for a good meal and stumbled across Alder & Ash. They have a very cozy interior with ample tables, lounge area, and bar seating. I ordered the salmon crispy rice and mushroom risotto. The salmon crispy rice was delicious, very flavorful and buttery salmon topping on each piece of crispy rice. The mushroom risotto was alright, a little heavy on the mushroom vs pasta, but still had decent flavor. It was overall a good experience.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere. There was a bar area as well as a regular dining area. Food was hit-or-miss. One thing I didn't like was that they added a 4% surcharge to the bill, where 100% goes to the restaurant. I don't mind paying 4% more. Cost is up. I get it. However, instead of just putting it in the fine print, just raise the cost of food and be transparent about it. I saw a review mentioning this in 2024, so I guess that's just how they operate and wouldn't change. * Seafood Chowder 2/5 - Not bad... if you add salt. It was very bland and we had to ask for salt from our server. Also, there were a lot of potatoes, but I didn't really taste the seafood. There were tiny pieces that seemed to have been blended in. * Shrimp Scampi Linguine 4/5 - The shrimp was juicy and tasty. The sauce was good at first, savory, citrusy, and mildly spicy, but the sourness got a bit much after a while. The smoked paprika breadcrumbs were interesting. * Horseradish Whipped Potato 2/5 - The horseradish was really overwhelming. It tasted more like horseradish than potato. * Seedless Watermelon Rita Mocktail 3/5 - The drink was refreshing and sweet. Nice strong watermelon taste. Only thing is the ice was 3/4 of the cup.

I want to give 5 stars to the staff -- they were wonderful. The place itself is very nice, almost like an elegant fast-food restaurant. Unfortunately, the food just didn't meet my expectations. The burger meat didn't taste like good quality, and I could only eat about a quarter of it. Interestingly, the waiter took the plate without asking if I wanted it to go, almost as if she knew it wasn't great. The salad was also a bit overwhelming with the amount of dressing. I was really looking forward to trying this place, so it was disappointing, but I truly hope they improve because the staff and atmosphere are lovely.

Back for happy hour/dinner and it did not disappoint! The service was fantastic in the bar area and didn't have to wait on anything. The space was lively but not overly loud and the interior is well maintained and very clean. The mint julep was fantastic with mint Bourbon and left a great minty aftertaste. The Apple a Day was perfectly balanced with notes of Apple. The Alder Smoke was a great drink to end on as the bourbon and smoke was a great balance to the end of the meal. For the food, the popcorn cauliflower was the best I've had. It had a crispy light batter and paired well with the basil and chili aioli. The burger was cooked perfectly to a medium with crunchy and flavorful toppings. The burger paired well with a Caesar salad substitute instead of fries as the salad was fresh and lemony with the anchovy vinaigrette. The shrimp linguini was not too heavy and had a nice lemony aftertaste. The perfectly cooked shrimp were great (though would have liked the tails not on them for pasta) and the smoked paprika breadcrumb topping balanced the dish out. Overall another fantastic experience here and will be back again soon.

    Grilled chicken thigh (happy hour)

Very impressed by this restaurant! We had a reservation for 2:45pm. The host informed us that we were able to quickly order off the lunch menu until 3pm. While we hadn't planned to do this and solely came for happy hour, I'm so glad that we ordered a lunch dish because it was DELICIOUS. We had the Fried Fish Sandwich which came with the herb & sea salt fries. The sandwich was super hearty. The fries were AMAZING and were my favorite type of fries (battered fries). They were salted perfectly, were just the right texture (not too soggy or crispy), and weren't too oily. Overall might be the best fries I've had in a long time! The $10 happy hour cocktails were yummy, specifically the Blush & Bashful and Rosemary Lemon Drop drinks. They weren't too sweet and all the flavors complemented each other well. I was surprised at how big the happy hour food portions were! I recommend getting the baby gem caesar. It was tossed with a light coating of dressing and served with shredded parmesan and a few croutons. This was also probably my favorite caesar salad I've had from a restaurant! One thing I probably wouldn't order again is the grilled chicken thigh happy hour item. The chicken was juicy but bland. The sauce on top added to the flavor, but the underseasoned chicken was hard to ignore. We were sat in the lounge area, which was open and cozy. The rest of the restaurant was very large and had a clean bathroom. The staff was very attentive. :) Definitely recommend coming to Alder & Ash for a great happy hour experience. This would be a good happy hour spot for large groups. I would love to come back to try their other menus!

Came here twice during our conference--once for lunch and again for dinner--mainly because of the convenience (it's connected to the host hotel and steps from the convention center), but also because the food delivered. For lunch, I had the clam chowder--and yes, I think I'm officially a chowder girl now. For dinner, I went with the Alder & Ash Burger and hands down, the fries were the best I've ever had--crispy, golden, perfection. I guess it was crazy good because I forgot to take pics! :( The ambiance was lovely and relaxed. Service was a bit slow at lunch, but overall it was a great spot to unwind between sessions. Solid choice if you're staying or conferencing nearby.

THEATER NIGHT DINING. The Paramount Theatre is only two blocks away, and this was the perfect place to enjoy a meal before the show! The inside is nicely appointed with comfy semi circle booths and brightly lit atmosphere. The bar area was jammed with after work happy hour goers but the restaurant area was not that crowded on. Wednesday night. The service was excellent and our waitress was cheerful and efficient. The food was also great and we wish we could have taken home the leftovers but didn't want to cart anything around as we were headed to the theater to see the Impressions. We enjoyed a variety of apps and two main courses which were delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with the menu. This bistro bar checks all the boxes. 5 stars. Cheers!

wasn't impressed. Now I will say that we arrived at 8:30 at night and they close at 10 so my experience could be due to it being thr end of the night. Service was fine and we ate in the bar area. Both of us had the salmon. Salmon was dry and very flavorless. Very little gluten-free items on the menu .

Made a reservation, arrived early. They not only would accommodate us, also offered us to enjoy happy hours (Sunday afternoon) to save a few bucks. We gladly accepted. The happy hour menu is quite limited. We got drinks and a couple of appetizer-sized dishes. They were all quite good. Then we got half a dozen of raw oyster followed by a burger to split. The oysters are on the bland side. The burger, which they made medium-rare for us, was excellent. The fries were superb! The wine waiter was knowledgeable. He offered an Oregonian Pinot that was exactly how he described and exactly how I liked it. Why not 5-star? The dessert menu was kind of not attractive. Oh well.

Stopped by not too far from closing time in dire need of some vegetables. There were only two other people at the bar and we were greeted with kindness and hospitality. The cauliflower and asparagus are giant portions! Easily shared between two. We had lots of leftovers for the next day! Very simple and healthy options.

Visited Alder & Ash for a dinner date with two friends on a Wednesday night. Overall the experience was mediocre; It wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to the hype. The ambiance was lovely--modern yet cozy, with a great atmosphere for a date night or small gathering. However, the lighting was a bit too bright per my friends. The staff--very attentive, almost overly so, with the server seeming to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. We felt a bit rushed, to be honest, not sure why as it was a slow Wednesday night. As for the food-- the presentation was impressive, and the menu had some unique options, but for the price point, I was expecting better. Some of the dishes we tried were the following: Salmon Caviar Tots- Absolutely delicious, highly recommend. (Pics attached) Cauliflower Dip- Delicious, which says a lot as I hate cauliflower. You couldn't even taste it. Selection of Oysters- All delicious. Penne alla Arrabiata- Beautifully plated but fell short on flavor. Bland, evoking boxed dinner vibes. Reminded me of a Lean Cuisine. Alder/Ash Burger- Delicious it's Price you may ask? Well for a party of three with 2 glasses of wine and tip. We paid 80 each. Pricey if you ask me, but hey its Seattle. Overall, it's a nice spot with potential, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I might give it another try in the future, hoping for a more consistent experience.

He says "I'll buzz you up." I waited in the elevator for a while. After like 3-5 real minutes I walk into the lobby and text my friend. "I ain't coming. I'm not fancy enough apparently" In that time, the Clerk noticed me. Apologies Profusely. I got up. Friends were really happy. Service was very nice and accommodating. Drinks are Top Notch My friends were giving a "Live Update" about my "situation" the entire time We probably got 8ish drinks. Paid for 3 They close at 11, I left around 1230 Props to Them A+++++++++++ Customer Service Drinks and Ambiance too, but we already knew that Props to the Staff Thank You

But they quickly figured it out and got everything flowing. The venue itself is exactly my style with plants flowing throughout the room and a gorgeous view from the rooftop with lots of sitting/tables. Our waitress was amazing and bounced around to everyone with drinks and shots in rotation. I had a beautiful appetizer spread that everyone enjoyed and they changed the music to accommodate my parties liking. I absolutely would suggest your next event here.

Following the sage recommendation of a bartender at Zig Zag Cafe, I made my way into Belltown over…read moreto Roquette. Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). Bottom-line: Roquette was a revelation. It served up two of the best cocktails that I've had this year. I can't recommend it enough and it'll be at the top of my list of places to hit the next time I'm in town.

Staff is friendly and helpful in making decisions that suit your taste. I started with the Suede Umbrella, my friends had a Tuk Tuk Tang and Guavacita. Second round they had the Panic Button and I had the Roquette Martini. Well balanced cocktails. Extensive list.. would definitely visit again when in Belltown.
