I am so sad to write this review as this restaurant was once one of my favorites, but unfortunately my most recent visit yesterday evening has now colored those visits and I unfortunately won't be returning. My parents were in town visiting and we experienced, by far, the worst service we have ever had. He was not only dismissive, but also inattentive as well. He even laughed at my dad's questions about the menu in a derisive & condescending manner. Not only was this the worst service I've ever experienced from The George itself, but in general as a restaurant connoisseur. The food as well was a miss. For some reason, the same pasta I ordered two weeks prior was now dry and bland. The several 1-2 star reviews speaking on the poor service and food now make sense. Consistency is everything, especially for a restaurant seemingly at a higher level. We were uncomfortable throughout the entire experience due to this server. Overall, this was a really disappointing experience, especially for what was meant to be a special outing with my parents. I would think twice before choosing this restaurant. Also just as an aside, despite having a reservation and seeing that there were empty tables in the interior of the restaurant (which is typically where I've been seated and is the most beautiful part of the restaurant), we were for some reason seated on the outskirts of the restaurant next to the hostess. A little unusual and different when compared to my previous visits.. All in all, we did not have a great time at all.

Such a wonderful enjoyable dining experience!

Dinner at The George was, without question, one of the highlights of our entire stay. From the moment we were seated, everything felt intentional - service, pacing, atmosphere, all working together seamlessly. The space itself is beautiful, but what truly elevates the experience is the level of service. Our server, Janice, was exceptional. She struck that perfect balance of being attentive without ever being intrusive. She anticipated needs before we even had to ask, guided us through the menu with confidence, and made recommendations that were absolutely spot-on. It's rare to find service that feels both highly professional and genuinely personable at the same time, but Janice delivered exactly that. She made the evening feel effortless and memorable in a way that really stands out. The food itself was outstanding, and the pacing of the meal was perfectly aligned with our evening plans, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We'll absolutely be returning, and will specifically be hoping to have Janice as our server again. She made that much of an impression. This is how dining experiences should feel.

My friend and I had brunch at the George after we spent the night at the Fairmont. The dining room is gorgeous! We had great service but food was a bit slow even though they didn't seem too busy. It wasn't a problem for us though. Our waiter was attentive. My friend was thrilled to see gluten free French toast on the menu. She and I both got it (I got regular) and it was really good!!

The George is inside the Fairmont Hotel and this is the place where I enjoyed my breakfast daily. Overall some days during the time that I was here I would have to wait and give them my phone number so they could give us a call. Other days it was fine and I was able to just walk in. The interior of this place looks really pretty. It has large windows letting the sunlight in. The coffee was average. Nothing super spectacular on the menu. Simple and quite boring but it was doable! The lox is fine, the bagel could be better but I'm not in New York so maybe this is fine? Feel like they need a better breakfast menu as options. The Dungeness crab toast was small and lacking. But it was still a decent breakfast, sitting inside the area was nice, and it had a good flow to it.

I have wanted to dine at The George since they reopened with a new look and a new name. I was in the area with friends, we were hungry, it was a spur of the moment decision. We arrived shortly after opening when no one else was there. Where The George deserves five stars is the service. Everyone was just the best. They had a lovely service-first attitude that was warm and welcoming. Typically I'd up the review rating for that had the food and value been better. Because you do not get what you pay for. I love sourdough bread and found their sourdough loaf to be dry and tasted more like a rye bread. One of my friends is a baker and couldn't bring herself to eat more than a couple bites. I love black cod and it was not great. The fish was overcooked, dry, and the skin shattered like glass completely flavorless. The beans were fine with the chorizo bites being the best part. I was hoping my friends at least enjoyed their meals but neither did. My one friend wasn't anticipating her burger to be submerged in the au jus which put her off while the other also found her food to be a bit too al dente and a bit bland. They ordered the apple éclair for dessert which they said was fine but not nearly as delicious as the description made it out to be and found it odd it was very cold. Not sure if that is normal or not. I will try The George again, but likely will aim around Restaurant Week to avoid too much of a financial commitment.

Had a really solid anniversary dinner here recently - Service was great, we didn't have someone hovering too much as one other review noted. Food and drinks were good: Oysters were great, scallops and black cod were both solid dishes. Cocktails were solid, good selection of wines by the glass (I'm a sucker for a good Sancerre), and I'm happy to see a good selection of NA cocktails - a welcome growing trend in Seattle restaurants. Service seemed to slow down at the end - then I realize the waiter was stalling while a complimentary anniversary desert was being prepared for us. Very nice touch. For the online menu, you need to accept cookies/etc to be able to see the menu. I'm tempted to remove a star just for this. Safari on current iPadOS; QA your site, folks. The room is beautiful - There's a bar at the end...as someone who loves a good hotel bar, if I was just looking for a drink, I'd be very tempted to come in here and skip the main bar outside. Great place to impress a date! As chef has said in at least one interview, he's trying to provide a "casual" experience for someone who just wants a burger, or someone out to celebrate with a bang. While not cheap (c'mon - this is in The Fairmont), I think he's hitting those targets pretty well. Plenty of things on the menu I want to go back and try next time! Timing - the place was quiet when we arrived for a 6:30ish reservation. But by the time we left around 8, the energy had picked up nicely. So maybe aim for a 7-7:30 reservation, if able.

Ambiance: 10/10 Food: 6/10 Service: 8/10 Stopped by for a lovely dinner at the George. The ambiance (high ceilings, renaissance feel) steals the show, as this is the main reason people visit. However, the food (while good) was very underwhelming, especially for the price. Portions were pretty small, and it was just okay. The best deal was the tiramisu which was an entire tiramisu cake that could feed a village! Unfortunately, as someone who's gluten sensitive, the tiramisu made me feel incredibly sick afterwards (typically not that strong of a reaction), so I'd warn my gluten sensitive folks not to take the risk on this.

This restaurant came up a few times in my search. So on our last night in Seattle we decided to try it. Such a pretty location. Our server was very attentive and made suggestions for us. Our Oysters were fresh and tasty. Our drinks well made and our server even made us a version of a green tea shot. Our meat was well cooked and flavorful. Overall an excellent experience here. The only draw back, bring a sweater it was a bit chilly. It was a great way to say goodbye to Seattle.

We came hear right after my courthouse wedding and surprisingly, there were other couples that also got married at the courthouse there! Great restaurant for a celebratory dinner! It's simply a beautiful restaurant, people are dressed nice without feeling stuffy. Reservations are encouraged but there's plenty of seating and you can always get a drink at their bar in the lobby while you wait. The food, the octopus was delicious. Nice and tender, not overly chewy. The sourdough felt more like wheat bread than sourdough. The steak and frites was cooked well, but there wasn't a herb butter with the steak. The duck breast was cooked well too and the peach salad added a nice fresh note. The tiramisu though, the star of the show! It comes in a tin they can easily pop a top on it and you can take it to go!

We came to enjoy breakfast at this establishment. It is located inside the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. You walked through the lobby and the restaurant is very bright and grand. They are only open during breakfast times. The breakfast menu has many selections that you may want. Especially in a very nice environment. We ordered Sweet Potato Hash and Cappuccino French Toast. Enough to share amongst each others. Service was very attention oriented. They made sure we had enough coffee and came to check on us multiple times The dishes came out and it was a great presentation. The sweet potato hash is delicious. The sweet potato was not overcooked and still had a good bite in it. The Beyond meat was cooked to right temperature. It was still meaty and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the tomato agrodolce. So much fresh flavors and ingredients in this dish. The Cappucino French toast was a delight. Very light and flavorful for the French toast. It came with maple syrup and it's a delight eating it. Not overly sweet and pure deliciousness The service is very attention oriented. We were taken care of throughout the whole breakfast. The restaurant has an abundant of lights through the ceiling. Lots of plush chairs to sit and relax and eat your breakfast. We really enjoy this experience at The George before heading home.

As a crab dip aficionado, I was genuinely impressed. Their crab dip actually came with a full crab leg in it, which almost never happens. Easily a 10 out of 10, honestly closer to a 20 out of 20 experience. The ambiance is phenomenal and sexy without trying too hard. I went on a slower day, so the staff was attentive and quick, which made the whole experience even better. Solid bottle selection too, and even going with a full bottle didn't feel crazy expensive. Definitely will be back.

I recently dined at The George inside the Fairmont Olympic, and it's a must-visit for anyone who loves a mix of great service and Seattle history. The dining room is absolutely gorgeous, though it is very echoey. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate corner, just be aware that the sound tends to carry quite a bit due to room design. Service was professional, friendly, and perfectly paced. The food was consistently good across the board--our favorites were the smoked beef tartare and the panna cotta. The highlight for me was actually the trip to the restrooms on the mezzanine level, it's like a mini-museum. They have incredible memorabilia on display including original newspapers from the 1925 grand opening, a vintage telegraph confirming room rates for a Puget Sound view, and retro matchbooks and a swizzle stick from the hotel's 1960s restaurant era. Overall, a fun spot for a celebratory meal or a fancy night out.

You can pay for valet (as the restaurant is attached to the Fairmont), or there is a parking garage on 5th and Seneca, then go in to the restaurant through the back door. No parking validation, as far as I understand it.
