We got a couple drinks and did not enjoy them, and they replaced them for no charge. We ordered the mushroom confit, the hush puppies, and the vegetarian pasta. All of which were delicious! I tried Ben Paris while staying at the State Hotel, and the service was beyond terrible. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet after being seated and served water, I waited 20 minutes and no one ever came to take my order. I eventually had to call someone over, pay for the water, and leave. I later gave the restaurant another chance, but the food took forever to arrive and was completely cold. Nothing about the meal justified the wait or the price. I travel frequently and have rarely experienced service this poor. Slow service, cold food, and staff who seem completely unavailable. Terrible experience. A group of 8 was sat. After we finished dining, they waiter and manager both tried to argue that they couldn't and wouldn't split our check because it was a large party. When we explained that we are not able to do that, they became irrate saying that it was restaurant policy, they have no way of splitting and it would take 30 min, it was inconvenient, and lied and said it was stated on the menu WHICH IT IS NOT. The manager was belligerent, disrespectful and extremely dismissive. We checked the menu and nowhere is it stated nor did the host or waiter tell us of this policy. Im truly disappointed as I have suggested this restaurant to 80 members of a foundation who in town for a banquet. I will remove this location from any further publishing and will not return due to the crass, disrespectful, and dishonest practices. read more

I've had Ben Paris on my list for quite some time, working in Seattle. Saw and heard their brunch was good! My colleague and I hung out this past Friday night and it took a while, going to 3 different restaurants before settling on Ben Paris! What a great choice! When we arrived, they had some outside seating, at least 3 tables. There were 2 left so we got the corner. You have such a beautiful view of the Pike Place Public Market sign and although there are passerby's near you, it's actually not that bad. We did have one man start talking to us as he went by, believe he was homeless unfortunately or a little odd but that didn't ruin our evening! The hostess and servers are quite nice! We looked over the menu and got one of their most famous mocktails that has a CBD seltzer, a Citrus Zen-Rita, and I asked how strong it would be, relaxing or energy wise and she said it was an equivalent of a Chamomile tea! (It worked when I got home!) The dishes are tasty. Loved the truffle fries. The foccacia bread worked well with our pasta dish. We wanted to split the short rib paccheri and they did a marvelous job splitting it. The pasta was tender al dente and the short rib was tender! We really enjoyed and I'd want to come back for their brunch! The inside of the restaurant is quite beautiful so we'd like to experience that next time. read more

While visiting Seattle, I was looking for a brunch spot and Ben Paris caught my eye. Not only for the menu but for the decor. I made reservations, arrived and we were greeted promptly by a friendly hostess. We were sat at a two top by the window, just in front of the bar. I will say the tables spaces are tight but the window view to people watch was great! It took a few minutes for our waiter to come, but when he did, he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We decided on still water which he told us was filtered (which was great to know), a grapefruit mimosa for me and lavender latte for my partner. The mimosa was well balanced and the lavender latte was simply chefs's kiss! For entrees, I decided on the cauliflower Caesar with an added fried chicken thigh and an order of regular fries. My partner had the ricotta pancakes with a side of bacon. I enjoyed the cauliflower Caesar and while the chicken thigh was crispy, it honestly lacked flavor. Ben Paris is such a vibe! It's kind of been on my radar for a while, but I finally stopped in for brunch to meet up with my boss who was in town. Reservations were quick and easy to make, and they were flexible when I needed to push it back by half an hour as well. Located in the State Hotel, this is the perfect spot for brunch right outside of the market. I love how open and bright it is, with windows covering almost every inch of this place. Even on a gray Seattle day it felt cheery. Our server, Jakob, was super nice and attentive. He made sure to give us updates along the way with it being a bit busy, but we never felt we were waiting long for anything. I had a couple of Espresso Martinis because ya girl needed to wake up (I am not a morning person, okay). And lemme tell you, these are stronnnggg! Not in a bad way, you definitely get what you pay for. 10/10. The Parmesan Truffle Fries were also ordered for the table, and those are delicious. They're served with an aioli and the truffle flavor is prominent but not overwhelming. For my entree I got the Tavern Burger. Now, I'm not usually one to choose a burger for brunch but for some reason it was just calling me. I'm glad I went with it, because it was delicious! It's served along fries that are perfectly salted and crispy. The burger itself was delicious and stacked high with two patties. I love the sauce that they spread on it, too! I'm staying the The State Hotel and decided to try Ben Paris for Happy Hour. The hotel gives guests a $15 credit per day, I decided to use my credits this evening. After settling into my room, I came down and sat at the bar, which 3 of the 6 or 7 seats were filled. The bartender was busy talking to guests and doing something, so I looked over the menu. As I sat there, the bartender passed in front of me several times and began crafting a drink in front of me, while talking to the couple a seat over from me. The bartender spoke to someone else, then went back to them, never once greeting me or letting me know he'd be with me shortly. After waiting a bit, I decided to check with the front desk people, to see if happy hour was only in the bar area. They said it was not, so I asked the waitress if I could sit at a table. She walked me over to a table and was able to take my order immediately, as I had already had time to look over the menu at the bar. I ordered the fries, wagyu sliders, hush puppies, and Brussels sprouts. I was not a fan of the fries and the hush puppies. The sliders and Brussels sprouts were delicious. The woman working the floor in the restaurant was amazing... she completely turned around my experience. The bartender came to drop off my iced tea and still had an attitude, I would have apologized if I were in that position. The Ben Paris is a restaurant that is apart of the State Hotel on 1501 2nd Ave, Seattle Washington. It is recommended to reserve a table as it is seemingly a popular spot to eat and drink. I do believe that they can accommodate walk-ins accordingly. If you're driving into the city to visit the restaurant, there is a parking garage across the street, also you will be a block from the Pike Place Market. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a very friendly host named Evan. We were escorted to a nice table near the kitchen where I was able to catch a glimpse of the kitchen, and where the food is picked up to be delivered to the patrons. Evan, gave us the rundown on who our table attendant was and so on. Evan was very gracious and welcoming, he even complimented my eyewear. Jacob was wonderful and very kind as we had lots of questions regarding menu items and beverages. I really appreciated Jacob for suggesting things that he has enjoyed from the restaurant. What I like about the restaurant and the service is that all of their team members are pleasant, approachable and friendly. It's like they enjoy being there. Our food was delivered in a timely manner and was decent but we were not blown away by the meals. I'd say that we all enjoyed the experience and the atmosphere of the restaurant and team members. If I stand correct, I think the restaurant is known for its fanciful wallpaper. Which was pretty cool. There is a full bar on site just to the north of the dining area. The restrooms are located 1 level below the restaurant and it requires the use of the elevator. To the right of the elevator is the lobby to the hotel. Check out the beautiful table and the wall. Tried Ben Paris while in Seattle and it was a really nice downtown stop. The vibe is modern but still warm--kind of that upscale-casual feel without being stuffy. Food was well-executed, nicely plated, and tasted fresh across the board. It's not trying to be over-the-top complicated, just solid dishes done right. Really had high hopes for brunch here at Ben Paris but unfortunately was let down on many fronts. Our party was seated and ordered drinks expecting for them to be delivered within the next 10 minutes-- pretty standard for most brunch places. We then ordered our food, and somehow our food was delivered before our drinks were delivered. And that was after we asked if our drinks were coming or being made. As for the drinks, the Hugo Spritz was pretty standard. The pho Bloody Mary really leaves something to be desired-- it almost needs more tomato or something else to give it more depth. It really just tasted like beef broth with vodka. For food, would not recommend the turkey club. It was the most dry thinly slices of turkey-- I've never sent food back and I came so incredibly close this time. It almost looked like the turkey was either baked too long or several days old. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, but honestly, I don't imagine seeing myself back here just because of the turkey club alone. read more

I had the Ben's breakfast and the yogurt parfait while very tiny was delish, the eggs were cooked perfectly and the potatoes were both crispy and soft. I also loved how thick cut the bacon is! We ate here several times during our stay at the State Hotel and were very pleased with both the food and the service! Our first meal consisted of the New York Strip, Short Rib Paccheri as well as the Essential Baking Focaccia as an appetizer and everything was DELICIOUS. Everything was cooked to perfection and really flavorful. We also had breakfast there one day (my husband and I both had the Ricotta pancakes) and they were very rich, indulgent, filling, and delicious! The restaurant itself was also very clean and our servers were all kind and attentive. I did give this restaurant four stars though because we ordered the Wagyu burger one night for room service and felt that it was just mediocre and a little overpriced especially compared to everything else we had eaten at the restaurant previously. However, service is slow on keeping coffee warm and providing much needed refills on beverages. If you have a group of 5 or more they lump all your orders together you cannot pay separately. I also want to let you know ahead of time that they also charge 20% gratuity on large parties this I understand. But not allowing people to pay for what they only ordered instead of forcing people to divide up a ticket is ridiculous. read more

Never had to think of anything- someone was always checking on us, refilling drinks, offering recommendations. Evan, Justin and the rest of the team were awesome! They even had a birthday card for me (marked it was my birthday occasion on open table reservation), which was unexpected, but really thoughtful. We started with the focaccia starter- so yummy. I had the vegetarian pasta, which blew my mind- so many interesting veggies not usually served at restaurants- fiddlehead ferns- which I love- and fresh pea pods, asparagus and more! Highly recommend: 10/10. My daughter had the braised beef pasta and it was fork tender and her favorite meal here so far. Huge portions justify the cost- plus, quality ingredients make amazing food. We arrived 45 minutes early for our reservations and promptly seated. The staff (all 4 not including the bartender) were friendly and polite. But besides the manager and bartender everyone seemed to be very comfortably dressed for such a nice place. Next this is probably the sign of the times, but they could have used additional servers; service was slow .The food was good, the fried cauliflower was really good. My short rib pasta dish was tasty , but the short rib seemed to have too fat compared to others and the duck breast my wife ordered was decent but she wasn't overly impressed especially for 40 bucks. I came to Ben Paris back in 2022 for the first time and it seemed like a good option for the night of Christmas holiday as I was spending the night in Seattle before heading to Vancouver BC. The waitress was spectacular, very nice and knowledgeable about the dishes. But, unfortunately, the kitchen didn't seem to be in their best day... chowder was too salty and we asked to change it for a new one, but as one can imagine, you can't make a new chowder in less than 10 min, which was the time that took for them to bring a new one... and it was still salty. We gave up on the chowder, but what annoyed me was the busser saying we were the only ones complaining about it - unnecessary comment. Then we had the stake that was part of the holiday special, which unfortunately wasn't at the temperature we wanted. But at that time, we were hungry and not in the mood to ask for the kitchen to grill/cook our steak a bit more, so we just ate around it and left the middle piece. So 3-star for my 12/25/25 experience... but I'm certain they can do better in other days! read more

Stumbled upon the cutest, classiest little bar in the area--and naturally, we had to investigate (for science). We parked ourselves at the bar, which turned out to be a fabulous decision because the bartender? An absolute gem. Equal parts mixologist and stand-up comedian. Ten out of ten, would chat again. We kept it simple but fabulous: a pitcher of mimosas--because why not?--with a splash of pineapple juice. Not too much, not too little. Goldilocks would've approved. Then came the truffle fries, which were fancy enough to make us question if we were underdressed. Perfectly crispy, generously cheesed, and yes, that was real-deal quality cheese on top. None of that suspicious powdered stuff. Our arteries may be slightly concerned, but our souls? Very happy. Then came the bartender's pièce de résistance: the espresso martini. Made with real espresso, not the bottled fakery--this drink could probably power a small nation and still taste silky smooth. We may or may not have considered proposing marriage. We left feeling full, slightly buzzed, and 87% fancier than when we walked in. We'll definitely be back to try the actual food menu--because if the snacks were this good, the entrées must be Michelin-level magic.
