I just had the most interesting breakfast I've ever had! Mushroom hash with many different kinds of mushrooms and a cream sauce with leeks, topped by two fried eggs. Absolutely delicious! I'm still marvelous at how good this all was. Drink, coffee! But then I guess you would expect that in Seattle. Lol! We are staying at the hotel that this restaurant is attached to, and anticipate we will eat here again. Very very good! read more

Stumbled upon the cutest, classiest little bar in the area--and naturally, we had to investigate (for science). We parked ourselves at the bar, which turned out to be a fabulous decision because the bartender? An absolute gem. Equal parts mixologist and stand-up comedian. Ten out of ten, would chat again. We kept it simple but fabulous: a pitcher of mimosas--because why not?--with a splash of pineapple juice. Not too much, not too little. Goldilocks would've approved. Then came the truffle fries, which were fancy enough to make us question if we were underdressed. Perfectly crispy, generously cheesed, and yes, that was real-deal quality cheese on top. None of that suspicious powdered stuff. Our arteries may be slightly concerned, but our souls? Very happy. Then came the bartender's pièce de résistance: the espresso martini. Made with real espresso, not the bottled fakery--this drink could probably power a small nation and still taste silky smooth. We may or may not have considered proposing marriage. We left feeling full, slightly buzzed, and 87% fancier than when we walked in. We'll definitely be back to try the actual food menu--because if the snacks were this good, the entrées must be Michelin-level magic. In summary: cute spot, great vibes, elite cocktails, and truffle fries that live rent-free in our dreams. 100% recommend. read more

Despite its name, this is not a French style restaurant, at least not brunch. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience. The foods were well prepared, the decor pleasing. Why 3, instead of 4, stars? Services and facilities. Not that they were bad, just slow. There was only one waiter who's also the bar tender and barista. There were many runners: busing, delivering dishes, etc. And the bathroom was hidden away at a different floor. You need to use the elevator and remember the code to use that small facility not matching the restaurant's style and prices. Oh, the smoke salmon omelette was on the dry side. They did not source the smoke salmon well enough. The potato, both fries and chunks, were excellent. read more

Visited Ben Paris for Sunday brunch with friends, and it was such a lovely experience! Highly recommend making a reservation as they get busy on weekends. Food: We ordered the smoked salmon omelette, ricotta pancakes, and carnitas bowl. Everything arrived quickly and was delicious. The ricotta pancakes were the standout - super fluffy and paired perfectly with the vanilla bean anglaise. Beverages: We had coffee and shared a pitcher of mimosas, which was enough for two glasses each (three of us in total). Service: Our server was friendly, attentive and checked in often. Ambiance: Beautiful space inside the State Hotel - charming, cozy, and perfect for brunch. Bonus: it's just a block from Pike Place Market, ideal for a post-brunch stroll! read more

Crispy pancakes were super good -- thick and filling, almost tough to finish but worth it. Had a solid breakfast plate too: potatoes were nice and crispy, and the toast came crispy ith butter and jam on the side. Overall, a very solid brunch spot -- satisfying and well-executed all around. read more

First of all, what a beautiful brunch spot just a few steps away from Pike Place Market. I had my birthday brunch here. It was packed but I had a reservation so we did not wait long for a table. We ordered the Ben Paris Breakfast, the Parmesan Truffle Fries, a side of bacon, and a cinnamon roll. Everything was good but I was OBSESSED with their Parm Truffle Fries. I love crispy shoestring fries and I love truffle-flavored everything so it was perfect for me. Just typing this makes me crave it again. It was so good!!! The portion size was good as well, I still had leftovers after basically just having fries for breakfast - which of course, I took home! The service was great as well. read more

Fantastic brunch spot! There was about a 45min long wait for our party of 4 on a Saturday, but we just strolled down the street to grab some matchas. The cauliflower Caesar with the fried chicken was the right balance for being hungry but not wanting to eat something too heavy or greasy. The cocktails here are definitely on the pricier side but the ambience kind of makes up for it! read more

We're staying in the hotel and had a long day of travel so thought we'd give the in-house restaurant a try and we're impressed! We sat at the bar and our bar tender was kind and made yummy drinks. The interior feels modern with a touch of french cafe vibes with beautiful woodwork and marble top bar. Just gorgeous! We enjoyed the dishes but the muscles were by far my favorite. They were in a Harissa sauce that was spicy and full of flavor. Reminded me of Birria meat dishes, just wow! The muscles themselves were super tender and held such great flavor. Our bar tender also suggested a wine with the muscles so we switched gears and honestly just a great pairing! We were very pleased and thought it was such a great meal and a treat to have a short walk back to our room. Stop in and enjoy! read more

Great spot near the market! Really cute interior, get a reservation if you can because the place fills up quick. The drinks were super fun looking and tasted great. Our server was super nice and recommended the hush puppies which came with a fantastic pimento dip For entrees the NY Strip and the burger and were both excellent! Both cake out perfectly medium rare the way we wanted, juicy and flavorful. The truffle sauce with the NY Strip was so rich and delicious, and the fries with the burger were super crispy Highly recommend this place for a nice date night! read more

This place is connected to The State hotel basically across the street from the famous Pike Place Market. I was seated immediately since I was willing to sit at the bar top. It was crowded and had a constant flow. The place isn't huge, but it is a decent size. Loud & fast paced. The food was delicious. Initially serving size seemed small for the price, but it was plenty. Again, it is connected to the hotel so it is on the pricier side for breakfast. read more

5/5 dinner! Went here for my birthday dinner and everything was amazing: food, ambiance, service. We had a team of servers, which was great! Never had to think of anything- someone was always checking on us, refilling drinks, offering recommendations. Evan, Justin and the rest of the team were awesome! They even had a birthday card for me (marked it was my birthday occasion on open table reservation), which was unexpected, but really thoughtful. We started with the focaccia starter- so yummy. I had the vegetarian pasta, which blew my mind- so many interesting veggies not usually served at restaurants- fiddlehead ferns- which I love- and fresh pea pods, asparagus and more! Highly recommend: 10/10. My daughter had the braised beef pasta and it was fork tender and her favorite meal here so far. Huge portions justify the cost- plus, quality ingredients make amazing food. You can tell they care about your food and your experience at Ben Paris. There aren't many dinner reviews, but I can attest to an amazing meal and great service. read more

We had a reservation at Ben Paris for breakfast and were surprised at how long it took to get any service. The restaurant was pretty empty, but it still took about 15 minutes before a waiter even came by our table. For the price, the food was definitely not worth it. I ordered the ricotta pancakes, which had a very eggy flavor and were just okay, I've had much better elsewhere. The traditional breakfast was also disappointing; a $25 plate that felt more like something you'd get for $15 or less at most other restaurants. The interior is chic and nicely decorated, but that was really the only highlight. Honestly, the only reason I'd recommend this place is if you're staying at the hotel it's attached to and breakfast is included. Otherwise, I would not recommend. read more

Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time or walk in and add your name to the list on a Sunday and walk around Pike Place market while you wait to be seated. I've heard a lot about this brunch spot so I decided to hit this place up ! We did make a reservation in advance due to hearing about how busy it gets . We went on a Thursday around 12pm luckily it was dead by the time we got there ! Service was fast and our sever was nice . They sat us down immediately and we were able to order food drinks were really good and food was good . Honestly the pancakes are not too crazy ! Don't expect sweet pancakes ! They are light and fluffy that goes really well with the vanilla bean anglaise! Not to sweet but just right ! The only confusing part is the restrooms ! I could not figure how to go to the restroom here ! Other than that it was a nice spot to grab brunch/lunch ! read more

Overall Ben Paris wasn't bad. Food was decent and so was the service. I would rate everything as average. Unfortunately, I feel that for the amount of food you receive and the taste, it is not worth how expensive it is. Along with this, our drinks did not come out until the food was coming out. We came in on Saturday morning for brunch and they were pretty busy but tables were turned quickly. My friend and I shared the Korean fried chicken sandwich and ricotta pancakes. The sandwich was scrumptious. The fry was crunchy and flavorful. I liked that the kimchi wasn't too fermented and sour. The fries served with the sandwich were thin and crispyyyyy - my favorite type of French fry! The ricotta pancakes were well-balanced. It had the perfect amount of sweetness and moist. A nice brunch/dinner restaurant to eat at! I ate here for a special occasion and I enjoyed the experience! I had their breakfast sandwich with truffle fries. The sandwich came with a biscuit, sausage and eggs and it was good. The biscuit was the favorite part of the dish for me; however, I did wish there was more sausage in the dish. I replaced the potatoes with truffle fries and they were soooo good. The fries were crispy and the seasoning was amazing. I couldn't stop eating the fries! The pancakes, eggs, and sausage were good as well. The pancakes were light and fluffy and the sweet cream that came with it was light and sweet as well. Unfortunately, the pancakes did not come with eggs or meat which was disappointing. It was an added $13 for the two items. The sausage was big and juicy though. The ambiance is great! It's nicely organized and decorated. I enjoyed the art that was on the wall. This restaurant can be for a special occasion or even just for a casual meal. There's plenty of seating for customers. The service was good. Server was nice and helpful. It took a bit of time for the food to come out, but it was worth the wait. The food and drinks are a bit on the pricier side, so keep that in mind. read more

Brunch time is the best time! We walked from the ferry and arrived at around 10am without a reservation. The restaurant was packed and we were told there was a 40min wait. Totally fine. We did wait a good 40 mins before being seated but it was worth it (to me at least.) We ordered: ricotta pancakes, avocado toast, espresso martini and Bloody Mary. I'm no pancake connoisseur but these were one of the best pancakes I've ever had. They were thinner, fluffy in the middle but had crispy edges. The vanilla crème anglaise was sweet but not too sweet and a perfect accompaniment. My man my man my man got the avocado toast and really liked it. We both never had an espresso martini before, and I've always wanted to try one. And this was the best I've ever had! A really good impression and I hope from here on out, any espresso martini I ever try taste just like this one. The interior was cutesy. Upon arriving the day of our anniversary to one of our favorite locales Downtown Seattle and checking into The State Hotel - I decided to surprise wifey with a special celebratory dinner at the hotel's eatery, Ben Paris! I had arranged this dinner several weeks in advance of our trip, and the management staff of The State Hotel & Ben Paris was happy to accommodate us with a lovely & cozy table for the evening! I even asked in advance we would be doing the restaurant's 'Tour the Menu' option so we didn't have to make a fuss about what to dine on for our anniversary. We were in the hands of the chefs at Ben Paris! And WOW - for our anniversary dinner, the talented chefs/cooks at Ben Paris didn't disappoint us...we did not leave hungry or wanting for more! Wifey & I truly did have a near full tour of the menu: Snack & Sides *Marinated Olives and Almonds *Essential Baking Foccacia *Buttermilk Hush Puppies Small Plates *Braised Octopus *Salmon Chowder *Cauliflower Caesar Mains *Mushroom Risotto *Braised Short Rib *Confit Duck Leg (delish!) Desserts *Pumpkin Tart *Millionaire Bar Ben Paris even started us off with a celebratory glass of champagne for each of us! What a way to begin the anniversary evening! All I can say is wifey & I chose right to trust the chefs at Ben Paris for our meal! Everything from beginning to end was a delight for the taste buds! The starter snacks fully got our appetites going! We could eat a boatload of those marinated mixed olives with the Essential Baking Foccacia dipped in the leftover olive oil! Addictive! The Buttermilk Hush Puppies were great accompanied with that pimento cheese sauce! The small plates really whet our appetites going into the night - the Salmon Chowder was fresh & creamy but still light, the Braised Octopus was tender with great contrast from the chorizo and salsa verde. The Cauliflower Caesar was delightful too, the rich parmesan set off with that hint of acidic citrus from the lemon. Revving that hunger machine! Ben Paris set it all off with a mix of their best main dishes! The Braised Short Rib was very unctuous, super tender, and super flavorful! The Yukon mashed potatoes were smooth, silky, and didn't go to waste with that tasty demi glace! The Mushroom Risotto was a vegetarian delight, and we're not even vegetarians! So rich tasting with those shiitake mushrooms and parmesan crisp. But for me that Confit Duck Leg was such a treat! So buttery, delicious, and paired nicely with fresh figs and their fig demi! Oh so delightful! But we weren't even done yet folks! Ben Paris put a cork in us by treating us to not one but 2 heavenly desserts! The Pumpkin Tart was light and not overly sweet with a nice house brown butter whipped cream. The Millionaire Bar was a taste for the senses too! Chocolate with ube ice cream, you can't tell me that's not a sugary sensation! Wifey & I were truly stuffed and happy to be! What a way to celebrate! Ben Paris' 'Tour the Menu' option isn't exactly for the value-conscious at $85 per person, but it comes with more than enough morsels to satiate your appetite! Since we were staying at The State hotel, we were able to use our $15 daily credit towards the bill - any little bit helps! We left Ben Paris with a positive experience for sure! They didn't let us go empty handed though. With our dinner we got the most sincere letter from the staff at Ben Paris and The State Hotel wishing us a happy anniversary! Such a lovely touch to cap off an even lovelier evening! I hope in the future wifey & I can celebrate our anniversary again in Downtown Seattle, hopefully with The State Hotel and Ben Paris too! Maybe we can make this a yearly occurrence if we're fortunate enough! read more

3.4/5 Brought my fiance here for breakfast on her birthday. Have seen it across social media so figured this was a good day to try it out. It is in the heart of downtown so good luck with parking. Service - service was....ok. When our waitress took our order she seemed nice enough. Gave us a rundown of the popular items, but then dissapeared. It's a small restaurant so it doesn't take much to check in. Had to wait awhile for boxes and the check. No acknowledgement that we were there for a birthday. Just small things could have been done better. Ambiance - this place was alot smaller than I thought. But really nice. Definitely going for that "classier" brunch spot vibe. Huge windows surround the restaurant so lots of light and good people watching. Food - I'm mixed when it comes to the food here. Each dish had it's pros and cons. Ordered the chicken sandwich, the breakfast sandwich and ricotta pancakes for sharing. The breakfast sandwich was good, huge thick sausage patty, the biscuit was a little dense. My fiance loved the smashed potatoes it comes with. The chicken sandwich was also good, it has a Korean twist to it. It was just small compared to photos or even other customers, for a $26 sandwich, expected more. If you get this, upgrade to the truffle fries ($3) cause the standards were pretty bland. The pancakes were delicious. JUST the pancakes. Didn't get to them till halfway through my sandwich but they were still warm and fluffy. The huge let down was the vanilla sauce it came with. It was watery and didn't taste like anything. It had the smallest hint of vanilla but no real flavor or sweetness. We just packed it up and took it home to eat with syrup. Overall a decent brunch, but you mainly come here for the atmosphere. read more

I'm usually skeptical of hyped-up spots, especially around touristy areas like Pike Place--but Ben Perry's genuinely impressed me. We came for brunch during a busy holiday weekend, and even though the place was packed, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff stayed cool under pressure--super friendly, attentive, and accommodating the whole time. I ordered the Wagyu burger, cooked medium-rare, and it was spot-on. Perfectly juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Everyone else in our party enjoyed their meals too--clean plates all around. I was excited to try Ben Paris after several people recommended it to me and it did not disappoint! I hear that they're known for brunch but we actually went there for dinner and it was delicious. We shared the Hush Puppies, which were discounted for happy hour and such a great deal! We also shared the Salmon Chowder, which was very tasty and came with a huge piece of garlic bread that was perfectly chewy and delicious. For the main dish, we shared the mushroom risotto which was also very good and had these yummy cheese crisps on top. Finally, for dessert we had the carrot cake. It's honestly hard to believe that you get that huge slice of cake with three macarons for only $10! We were quick to be seated for a table of 2 on a Friday night during Belltown Art Walk. Service was very friendly and attentive. My only complaint was that the check was given to us long before we were done eating and there weren't any people waiting to be seated so I didn't really understand what the rush was. One thing that I appreciated was the sound level--something that I take for granted. It was the perfect volume in there even with the high ceilings. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into the ambiance to make it an aesthetically pleasing experience. Overall, a great experience and I can't wait to come back and try brunch here sometime! read more

If you have a specialty G&T, serve it in a highball glass, not some huge weird goblet. Nice place, nice mural, excellent service.

Be prepared to wait. With or without a reservation you are going to wait. Long, I might add. Unfortunately I did not have a reservation so I waited for almost 2 hours with two hungry college students in tow. However, while waiting I encountered other patrons who had reservations and were waiting longer than me. I ended up getting lucky due to multiple people dropping out of line because they were tired of waiting. In terms of cuisine, I believe the wait was worth it. Brunch was amazing however customer service was not. I believe due to the servers being so busy it was just hard to manage multiple tables. read more

The service was 5 stars, our waiter was super nice, and welcoming. Unfortunately the reason for the 3 stars is due to the food I received. My husband ordered the baked eggs and it was okay, nothing too special especially for being over $20. I ordered the turkey club and it was super dry and the bread was hard. The best thing was the Parmesan fries but sadly food wasn't satisfying. The interior of the place was clean and pretty. Only street parking is available if you can find any. Oof. I planned this brunch for my boyfriend's birthday. The restaurant is part of a beautiful hotel & we heard raving reviews, so our expectations were high. The food was decent, but the waiter dropped a full tray of drinks right on my boyfriend's head! We totally understand that accidents happen, but it was hardly acknowledged by the employee who did it. People at the surrounding tables were more attentive than the staff, they jumped up & gave us napkins. The man who dropped the drinks mumbled a "sorry sir..." & walked away. Even crazier... about 5 minutes later, a man at the table next to us somehow spilled HIS mimosa all over ME! Again, the nearby customers helped us get cleaned up but the staff didn't seem to care. We're from out of town & only came up for a day trip so we had no clothes to change into. By the end of the meal, the waiter was kind enough to comp our drinks, but we had to spend our whole trip wet, sticky & absolutely wreaking of espresso martini & mimosas. Our jerseys, hats, & jeans were also ruined. We agreed that mistakes happen & it's okay, but the way it was handled wasn't. $60 for some okay food & unwanted champagne showers didn't sit well with me, especially since this was a special occasion. A sincere apology & some acknowledgment as we were dripping wet & trying to clean up would have gone a long way... I also feel like the meal itself should be comped in FULL if you leave the restaurant sticky, wet, & stinky with damaged clothing due to employee error. I'm kicking myself for not being more assertive in the moment, but in the world of hospitality it shouldn't fall on the customer to stand up for themselves, it should be a given that the professionals would handle it - but they didn't. read more

DOWNTOWN VIBES (3.8 stars) It's one of those restaurants on Pike - around Pike Place Market. Nice atmosphere with people coming and going. Open kitchen where you can see the kitchen staff prepping the food. But many years ago this location used to be an infamously known delicious teriyaki spot everyone once referred as "Ghettoyaki" or "Scaryaki" (for its location because y'all know about 1st and pike). So, to see this restaurant in its place was impressive to see! :: ORDER :: LEMONADE ($6) - light tasting. Nothing special. Chose this because none of the cocktails really spoke to me and didn't feel any of them would pair well with the meal. CURRY MANILLA CLAMS ($23) - yellow curry broth, fennel dill salad, miche bread. Instead of grabbing clam chowder at Pike Place Market or The Waterfront... went for a clam dish at this restaurant. The dish was beautifully plated. Received (2) slices of miche bread that were thick, dense, and soaked in melted butter. Every bite was so moist and buttery! The yellow broth was more like soup as it was thin and not as thick as curry. It had a decent curry flavor which was much easier on the stomach to digest. No fennel dill salad present, those ingredients were mixed when the broth. NOT spicy - thank goodness! The amount of clams were plentiful and well cleaned - no grit or broke shells. Cooked well, nice texture and not too chewy. However I found a couple clams with no meat and thought it fell in the broth but they weren't. Cool spot. Worth a check-in if in the area.
