Finally, I got to try the Ricotta Pancakes that people have been recommending me to try out and it does live up to the hype. 5/5 for the delicious pancakes. 4/5 For the shakshuka. I wish my eggs were sunny side up like a traditional shakshuka. Although, maybe I should have asked.. Servers usually ask how eggs liked to be served. No biggy though! The flavors were balanced, I like the texture from the crispy chickpeas. I enjoyed the touch of mint. 3.5/5 Cauliflower kale chicken salad. The salad could have been infused with a bit more dressing, it was very dry. I do like the taste of the dressing. The kale over powered the salad. The chicken lacked flavor, the texture was great. Went here for happy hour at 4:30 on a Thursday, we made reservations but didn't need to as it was pretty open. We asked what the seasonal punch was on their happy hour menu but the told us its actually a sangria. We ordered a couple of things to try. The place is super cute, well decorated and just a few blocks from pikes. I would recommend this spot if you want maybe a nice photo but I wouldn't recommend it for the food. Wouldn't come back personally. Sangria - 5/10. Just ok Shishito peppers - 6/10. Not bad but I really didn't like the yogurt sauce paired with it, way too overpowering and just dislike. Sliders 5/10. I really wanted to love this restaurant. I came here before going to a special event at Benaroya and I liked the overall allure but it just didn't hit the mark for me. My food was overly salted, the staff seemed overworked and rushed, and it took a long time to get our orders. My cocktail was delicious, but it was difficult to flag down our server for a 2nd ro9und so we abandoned that quest and just ate and left. Our good friends live right down the street, and this is one of their favorite happy hour spots. It is a great happy hour, M-F 4-6 pm. Between the 5 of us, we ordered the shrimp cocktail, a burger, sliders, chicken sandwich, and bacon fries, a couple cocktails and bottle of rose. Our order was taken within in seconds and the waitress stopped by a good amount of time. I ordered cranberry juice, latte, and breakfast Ben. Breakfast was good, but the drinks were lackluster at best. The ambiance is mainly hipster and girl brunch, but there's just not enough substance to say this is a place I'd visit more often. I had the French toast and mimosa. Other people in my party ordered two dishes minimum just to taste and the general consensus at the table, was that the pictures don't deliver, as far as experience goes. I'd visit in the distant distant future, but living in Seattle means you know exactly where you can go to scratch the brunch itch. This just isn't it. If you're visiting, this is a great place in the pike area to have a decent brunch and a middle of the road mimosa, but I'd probably steer clear of you're looking for an affordable and fun brunch. Brunch in Seattle is always one of my favorite things to look forward to, and Ben Paris did not disappoint. We walked in without a reservation and only waited about 15 minutes to be seated, which was a pleasant surprise. If you do end up waiting a little longer, Pike Place is just across the street, which makes the time go by quickly. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The ricotta pancakes were light and airy, paired with a vanilla bean sauce that was tasty on its own, but I asked for syrup to complement them, and that honestly elevated the dish and made it outstanding. We also ordered the Ben Paris Breakfast, which was hearty and satisfying. It came with eggs, Yukon gold potatoes, sourdough, and even a yogurt parfait on the side, accompanied by butter and jam. Every bite was so enjoyable. The smoked salmon omelette was another standout. The salmon had incredible flavor and the eggs were cooked perfectly, rich and buttery. My husband tried the Bloody Pho cocktail, and he said it beat any Bloody Mary he has ever had. It was a perfectly balanced drink with a pho-based broth, lime, hoisin, and gin. Truly creative and so well done. The only downside was that it seemed like there was just one server taking orders and checking in on everyone, even though the restaurant was full. Because of that, it took a while to be able to ask for the check once we were ready to leave. Overall, Ben Paris was such a great brunch experience, from the short wait time to the quality of the food and drinks. I would definitely return the next time I'm in Seattle. read more

The meals that seemed maybe a bit simpler or basic were all made with very high quality and fresh ingredients which made everything taste that much better. Showed up just in time For Brunch Lunch. The service and ambiance was nice. The food looked really good but some of it fell a little short. The potatoes from the Ben Pairs Breakfast were super good. The Tavern Burger was filling but the sauce is what flavored the burger not the patty. The fried chicken sandwich had almost no chicken in it. It was mostly just chicken skin and batter only 2 bites worth of chicken, it did have good flavor but still. The Fig grill cheese was good but it had a little too much fig jam in it. Definitely overpowered the blue cheese and the bacon. To find the restroom was super confusing. There's no signage and had to ask a few people how to get to it since it's part of a hotel. Place is very cute but overall I was not happy with service , food and wait time. We got seated right away which is great but we got our food which was a salad and sandwich in approx 40 min. After I got my salad and took my first bite I found a large hair on it. We returned my salad and had to wait a while to get a replacement so I cancelled it. Came by on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30 and there was an hour long wait - not a huge problem since we ended up walking around the market in the meantime. Inside was clean - attached to the hotel and our waitress was very kind and friendly. 5/5 for the service itself! We felt the food was just okay - nothing particularly special, especially given all the other positive reviews and the extensive wait. 3/5 -Breakfast sandwich - sandwich itself was okay, a bit dense and heavy with the biscuit and sausage but the crispy potatoes were delicious and unique. This dish overall felt a bit dry and heavy for us. 4/5 - Baked Eggs with avocado (+$3 add on), this was much tastier and essentially a shakshuka. Very fresh tasting with the cilantro and fresh herbs on top and the tomato base was a great acidic compliment to the cheese and eggs to balance to dish. The bread that came with it was really good - we wish we had more of it to dip! Next time you're downtown, save your money and go eat somewhere else. Me and my 7 family members were In town for a travel layover and looking for someplace not far from our hotel to have dinner. We walked in and were promptly greeted and sat and other than the drinks being well-made and tasty and good desert, that's about where the positive of our experience ended. Our server was extremely slow, easily confused, mixed up our orders and honestly seemed quite out of it. 1/2 of our drinks (for four of us) were delivered to the table and we had to ask for the other 4 drinks (for the other four of us) and the bartender seemed as though we hadn't ordered all of the drinks at the same time. On to the food, the hush puppies were delicious but most everything else was mediocre at best and took quite a while to come out of the kitchen. I ordered my burger medium and it came out way overcooked and tasted burned. My truffle fries were pretty good but needed a little more salt which was not on the table. I asked our server for some salt and she never brought it to me. My fiancée ordered the fried chicken and Mac and cheese and she said the mac and cheese was good but the chicken needed to be better seasoned. I tasted it and immediately could tell the fryer oil needed to be changed (former line cook) because the breading on the chicken was extra dark and had an acrid taste. The staff did give us two free deserts because we were celebrating a birthday and the carrot cake rocked and the tres-leche cake was awesome! For the prices that this place was asking for their food: $38 for the fried chicken meal and $27 for the burger I expected impeccable food and exceptional service and both came up sub-par. read more

This place has been bookmarked for me for so long! Finally found time to come in for a weekend brunch (and a nice meal in a cold AC'd restaurant in the Seattle heat wave). I made a reservation for 2 people that same morning. Parking is a bit difficult since it's right next to the market, but there are garages around. The restaurant itself is connected to the hotel, and has a really cute space. It's airy and bright. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which was so good! The biscuit was nice and crumbly but also seasoned just right to go with the rest of the sandwich. The chili adds just a tiny bit of spice and the sausage was also delectable. Juicy and flavorful. Best part were the crunchy potatoes. I find that brunch places usually give too many potatoes and I can never finish them. This was the perfect amount. Really lovely sot to have brunch! Took my husband here for his birthday. We were really looking forward to trying their ricotta pancakes but to our dismay they were all out of them at 10:30am! Atmosphere is nice, lovely decor, cushy seats and a variety of people! I saw more people dressed up on the weekends. This spot is also right in front of Pike Place and across from Target. I had been for brunch with friends and it was pretty good. Nice service, great food. So I had expectations when I took my parents here for dinner on Christmas Eve. Not so great. The food was pretty good, but we chose the fixed menu and it could've been better. I felt like they were turning out the surf and turf with less care in a way that they wouldn't have if you had just ordered off the menu, so maybe we should have done that. Medium was almost well done, etc. But my parents like the food and that is what mattered. I had expected a little better. The service was also pretty scattered. It took a long time to get beverages and refills were pretty much nonexistent until the end when dessert came out. The carrot cake was very good, though. I would say brunch was four stars and dinner was three. So I'd like to give it 3.5. We'll come back for dinner sometime on a non-holiday and update the review from there. For now, for anyone wondering about trying Ben Paris, I wanted to highlight the contrast between the brunch service and the holiday dinner, which should have been a time to show their best. I went here for brunch with friends and it was a lovely experience overall. We all ordered coffee, drinks, a ricotta pancake to share, and various entrees. I ordered the Bloody Pho (an Asian inspired Bloody) and the Carnita Bowl. Everything tasted great. The pancake in particular was delightful. My Bloody was excellent too--- a unique and flavor forward take on the drink. My girl friends had compliments for their food as well (and was I samples was very good). The venue is gorgeous: tall celeings, marble and brass, and a beautiful Kyler Martz mural. I was a great spot to catch up, dress cute, and enjoy our bites. Service was a little slow at times, but always friendly. We were not in a rush, so it wasn't a big detriment. Prices seemed a bit high, not totally out of line for Seattle, but more expensive than average ($18 for a Bloody, $6 for drip coffee...). What a dream date location. Best bag for the buck I've experienced in a long while. So many locations have the same prices, but don't offer anywhere near as much food portions, quality, service, cleanliness, or class. I came for dinner on a regular day and they were packed, yet we still got a table right away. This location is very spacious and well laid out. I love the timeless decor and high quality materials. Very clean eating utensils and crystal clear drinking water that did not have an odd taste or texture. I ordered the clams and the pesto pasta. No lie, the best order of claims in broth I've ever had. I ate so many so fast and they piled so high. No one gives this many for this price. And for sure not that tasty. Ben you win big points for this. The lamb pasta was also delicious, but not the best I've ever had. I still devoured every bite because yes it was yummy. My reviews can be lengthy but this place is great. At best I wish they had more items in their menu, but there's plenty enough. My service was plenty good enough to keep these guys at a 5 stars. Yes 5 star experience based on the price. No one in the area can compete in this department. I recommend this place both hands down. I came here on Saturday morning with three other people and we waited close to an hour for our table. The wait wasn't too bad since it gave us time to grab a cup of coffee and explore the area. Once we got seated, I noticed the ambiance was bright and nice and our server was very friendly and attentive. I got the Smoked Salmon Omelette which comes with a side of Yukon potatoes. The omelette was okay. I was expecting it to be more saucy or creamy since it had yogurt on the inside, but the overall dish still tasted a bit dry. I also wished the shallots were a bit more pickled to add some more flavor. The Yukon potatoes were amazing though, they had a perfectly fluffy interior with a crispy exterior. My boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich and I wished I opted for that too. The sandwich was delicious. The sausage was super juicy and flavorful. Ben Paris. Situated on the street level of the State Hotel at one of the entrances to Pike Place. I had hoped to try this place last April but circumstances interrupted. Tonight the girlfriends and I decided it was time. The occasion was bites and drinks before the Seattle Symphony performing Bach's St. John's Passion for the first time: in honor of the 300th anniversary of its inaugural performance on Good Friday, April 7th 1724. Highly recommend Réservations through OpenTable. First girlfriend arrived by bus and made sure to order the clams and the butternut squash soup and the crab salad. Second girlfriend arrived by light rail just as I walked in. We added buttermilk hush puppies, the kale cauliflower Caesar salad, and fried halloumi cheese to the table. Girlfriend number one got a Mocktail. Girlfriend number two got a glass of white. And I got the spring drink that donated one dollar for international women's day. Drink was a thing of beauty. It involved some many things I love including muddled fresh mint, fresh berries, fresh (not dried) lemonade slices, and an unholy strength of bourbon. The clams were delicious especially with the hunks of toasted sourdough. Regrettably the soupy base was too too salty to really enjoy, even when cut with the bread, so we decided to use the bread to sop up the butternut squash soup which was beautifully balanced and wonderful in so many ways. The crab salad was so fresh and truly delicious you kind of wished you had three servings, one for each of us. But hands-down our favorite was the kale cauliflower salad. Don't miss that one. There's something wonderful about the kale being chopped up so it's not overwhelming to chew and having the cauliflower sliced and tossed in all that delicious shredded shredded cheese with the toppings. We asked for extra fresh lemon slices because that brought out the flavor of the salad. The butternut milk jalapeño hush puppies were very easy to eat with the pimento cheese dip. The fried halloumi cheese was definitely on the saltier side but such an enjoyable texture and the slightly sweet dipping sauce saved the day. read more
