During a weekend trip, my boyfriend and I joined a couple of my girlfriends for brunch here. It was a cute and fun aesthetic, but be conscious of when you get there. They close on the earlier side! The food came in good portions for each of us, just wish there were a couple more options to choose from! While the ingredients were fresh, I wish there was a little more flavor/spices. Our host was quick and kind enough to let us order another round after last call. Thank you so much for the hospitality! read more

Overhyped place with mediocre food. Just another tourist place near pikes place. Waited for 45 minutes and the wait wasn't worth it at all. Do not recommend this place. read more

Didn't even make it to breakfast. Service seemed confused about sitting me and my husband down while there were a lot of tables open. Took 20 mins before the host sat us, not bad. But when we were looking at the menu another host came to our table and told us they don't have any availability for us because there were reservations for the table we were sitting at. I would have been happier if they just told us that in the beginning so we didn't waste our time. read more

What a dream date location. Best bag for the buck I've experienced in a long while. So many locations have the same prices, but don't offer anywhere near as much food portions, quality, service, cleanliness, or class. I came for dinner on a regular day and they were packed, yet we still got a table right away. This location is very spacious and well laid out. I love the timeless decor and high quality materials. Very clean eating utensils and crystal clear drinking water that did not have an odd taste or texture. I ordered the clams and the pesto pasta. No lie, the best order of claims in broth I've ever had. I ate so many so fast and they piled so high. No one gives this many for this price. And for sure not that tasty. Ben you win big points for this. The lamb pasta was also delicious, but not the best I've ever had. I still devoured every bite because yes it was yummy. My reviews can be lengthy but this place is great. At best I wish they had more items in their menu, but there's plenty enough. My service was plenty good enough to keep these guys at a 5 stars. Yes 5 star experience based on the price. No one in the area can compete in this department. I recommend this place both hands down. This location has been added to my date night in Seattle collection. read more

I had been for brunch with friends and it was pretty good. Nice service, great food. So I had expectations when I took my parents here for dinner on Christmas Eve. Not so great. The food was pretty good, but we chose the fixed menu and it could've been better. I felt like they were turning out the surf and turf with less care in a way that they wouldn't have if you had just ordered off the menu, so maybe we should have done that. Medium was almost well done, etc. But my parents like the food and that is what mattered. I had expected a little better. The service was also pretty scattered. It took a long time to get beverages and refills were pretty much nonexistent until the end when dessert came out. The carrot cake was very good, though. I would say brunch was four stars and dinner was three. So I'd like to give it 3.5. We'll come back for dinner sometime on a non-holiday and update the review from there. For now, for anyone wondering about trying Ben Paris, I wanted to highlight the contrast between the brunch service and the holiday dinner, which should have been a time to show their best. Aside from that, good location, downtown, convenient, and decent vibe. read more

I came here on Saturday morning with three other people and we waited close to an hour for our table. The wait wasn't too bad since it gave us time to grab a cup of coffee and explore the area. Once we got seated, I noticed the ambiance was bright and nice and our server was very friendly and attentive. I got the Smoked Salmon Omelette which comes with a side of Yukon potatoes. The omelette was okay. I was expecting it to be more saucy or creamy since it had yogurt on the inside, but the overall dish still tasted a bit dry. I also wished the shallots were a bit more pickled to add some more flavor. The Yukon potatoes were amazing though, they had a perfectly fluffy interior with a crispy exterior. My boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich and I wished I opted for that too. The sandwich was delicious. The sausage was super juicy and flavorful. I like how the menu is more limited, so if I wanted to try something new from their menu, I would definitely come back. read more

Ben Paris. Situated on the street level of the State Hotel at one of the entrances to Pike Place. I had hoped to try this place last April but circumstances interrupted. Tonight the girlfriends and I decided it was time. The occasion was bites and drinks before the Seattle Symphony performing Bach's St. John's Passion for the first time: in honor of the 300th anniversary of its inaugural performance on Good Friday, April 7th 1724. Highly recommend Réservations through OpenTable. First girlfriend arrived by bus and made sure to order the clams and the butternut squash soup and the crab salad. Second girlfriend arrived by light rail just as I walked in. We added buttermilk hush puppies, the kale cauliflower Caesar salad, and fried halloumi cheese to the table. Girlfriend number one got a Mocktail. Girlfriend number two got a glass of white. And I got the spring drink that donated one dollar for international women's day. Drink was a thing of beauty. It involved some many things I love including muddled fresh mint, fresh berries, fresh (not dried) lemonade slices, and an unholy strength of bourbon. The clams were delicious especially with the hunks of toasted sourdough. Regrettably the soupy base was too too salty to really enjoy, even when cut with the bread, so we decided to use the bread to sop up the butternut squash soup which was beautifully balanced and wonderful in so many ways. The crab salad was so fresh and truly delicious you kind of wished you had three servings, one for each of us. But hands-down our favorite was the kale cauliflower salad. Don't miss that one. There's something wonderful about the kale being chopped up so it's not overwhelming to chew and having the cauliflower sliced and tossed in all that delicious shredded shredded cheese with the toppings. We asked for extra fresh lemon slices because that brought out the flavor of the salad. The butternut milk jalapeño hush puppies were very easy to eat with the pimento cheese dip. The fried halloumi cheese was definitely on the saltier side but such an enjoyable texture and the slightly sweet dipping sauce saved the day. read more

Got the chance to dine at Ben Paris after discovering them on Mina Oh's YouTube channel where she praised her experience. The ambiance is sophisticated and the prices were fair. The food was beautifully presented and our overall expectations were met. It's just a really love place to have a meal even if you're dining at the bar (which is exactly what we did as it was atleast an hour wait for seating at a regular table). The service was welcoming and the location is more than convenient as they're located just a block from Pikes Market. If you're looking for an elegant spot to bring a casual date for lunch - it's Ben Paris. We'll definitely be back (hopefully soon) so that we can try their dinner menu. If it's anything as good as lunch then I'm sure I'll be posting another favorable review. read more

We had a party of 8 for brunch and we had the best time. The ambiance was great and accommodating. It was fun and comfortable. The service was exceptional. The staff was kind and happy which was very refreshing. The food and drinks were next level. From the latès to the mimosas, t was all absolutely delicious. We all tried each others dishes and not one complaint. Everyone was beyond satisfied. We highly recommend experiencing this place!! You won't regret it. We will definitely be back. read more

Dined here on a Wednesday evening. Very awkward entrance and waiting area. You're basically waiting where there are seated tables. Not a good design. Also, super understaffed. One server for the entire restaurant. He was working hard, but needed more help. We ordered the fried chicken, burrata and pear salad, short ribs with mashed potatoes, poke bowl, and truffle fries. The fries came out cold, so we sent them back. The fries had clearly been cooked and left to sit while waiting for the other food to be prepared. Everything else was cooked well and we enjoyed our food. A couple of other drawbacks to note. This is not a French restaurant as the name implies. Also, the bathroom is in a very confusing location. With all of the other dining options in Seattle, I'd probably skip this one. read more

Ben Paris restaurant week - another winner! Group of 6. We ordered some starters before the food came - focaccia & octopus. I got a coffee drink, a couple folks got a gorgeous gin & tonic with a ton of garnishes. First course, some of us got carrots, some got butternut squash soup. Both were very tasty! Mains, mushroom risotto, fried chicken sandwich, or lamb tagliatelle. Everyone was very happy with their choices! Dessert either a brownie or a pumpkin whoopie pie, both were great! Definite great service & excellent food and strong drinks. A winner! read more

Despite the name, this place is not French food but an upscale bistro serving delicious food and drinks. My first impression of this place was good but not great. The service was acceptable but did not wow me. I got my food, and enjoyed it, I just didn't get a lasting impression. A very modern ambiance helps but I don't think I would come back. I'm from Los Angeles, but was visiting Seattle for a friend's wedding, and one of my friends recommended this place as a brunch/lunch place. We didn't make it for lunch but ended up coming for dinner. Ambiance: This location was pretty chic-looking, and apparently, we needed reservations, which we made (but correct me if i'm wrong). And it's in a pretty nice area of downtown I think, I can see it being a good place for brunch Service: The service was pretty good, our server was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Food/Value: I ended up splitting the beef burger and fries with my girlfriend, and we both got our own mocktails. While the food itself was good, it was very expensive, a lot more than I was expecting. The mocktail I got was the juice box. But it was $10 and no free refills, and it was just juice and soda. And the entree we got was $26 before tax and tip, which is pretty crazy for what we got. I get that this is an expensive part of town, and a higher-end restaurant, but I would have hoped to have had an experience similar to what I was paying for. I'm sure the brunch menu would have been a different experience, as the photos I've seen look very aesthetic for the brunch items. Overall, the food and service were good, but not sure if it justifies the price. But i'm sure other people who have different price tolerances would think it's fine and love this place. Would recommend trying for yourself, but I'm not sure if I'll be back unless I had a good reason and was in this part of town again. read more

My server was so nice and funny! He was also very accommodating to my food allergies which is very appreciated. I got a burger and fries. Only complaint i had about the whole meal was the bottom bun became very soggy right away. Otherwise it was do good. The fries were excellent. Drinks were strong as well. Worth the price. Interesting art on the walls and music wasn't too loud. read more

I honestly hate writing negative reviews, but our experience here was so uncomfortable that I feel like I have to share. My family and I waited about 30 minutes at our table without anyone coming by to take a drink order. It wasn't particularly busy, so we were confused but trying to be patient. When we finally asked if we could order drinks, the female owner responded with a very passive-aggressive "Sure." The tone alone was uncomfortable. She eventually brought the drinks over and then said, "You know being nice doesn't hurt." We were completely stunned. We had asked politely and had been quietly waiting the entire time. To be spoken to like that in front of my family was embarrassing and unnecessary. We came in expecting a pleasant meal and left feeling awkward and unwelcome. Customer service -- especially from an owner -- sets the tone for the entire experience, and unfortunately this one was incredibly disappointing. read more

Ben Paris is a classy, cool place to catch up with friends or hangout with a loved one. Their brunch menu offers a great variety of sweet and savory options, none of their menu items are too overwhelming in my opinion but sometimes when you're out for brunch, all you want is something that will give you a kick. I didn't find that kick at Ben Paris. Their truffle-parmesan fries were delicious and offered a nice crunch, eggs were okay (cooked nicely but not quite seasoned enough for me). Their ricotta pancakes were delicious with a soft center and crispy edge. They're perfect for someone who is not the biggest fan of sweets. Their servers were polite but a bit inattentive, it took a while to get my order and once I wrapped up, it took a while to get the bill. Overall, I think I got a good try of what Ben Paris has to offer but maybe during my next visit, I'll bring something to distract me in between wrapping up my meal and waiting for my server. I also found their menu items to be on the pricier side, I came alone and ordered 1 entree and 2 sides. My bill came up to $40 (just something to keep in mind). read more

If you like brunch, you most likely will like Ben Paris. What a lovely restaurant with a history-rich atmosphere and pleasant decor. Order their ricotta pancakes and vegetable hash and you won't regret it. Absolutely delicious with perfect flavoring and an appetizing presentation. They also have friendly staff and are very respectful of personal space without seeming standoffish! It's a delicate balance... Their coffee was strong a bit acidic and bitter, I'd recommend the espresso beverages instead. A cappuccino is only a $1 more than the drip coffee which I found odd in terms of pricing the menu. In fact the only thing that I wasn't a fan of was the prices at this restaurant ($30+ per person) but I'll chalk that up to Seattle living/ expenses. read more

Visited this place TWICE on my visit to seattle. 10/14 made a reservation via Open Table @130 hoping to get a taste if the infamous pancake. Arrived to check in @ 120 ended being sat at 1:55p five minutes before closing. 1. Couldn't order the pancake because they "sold out" , 2. Our server was more attentive to the table next to us. We ended up waiting just to order. Decided would give brunch a try earlier and on a less busy day. Got the fried chicken sandwich, it's was ok. Chicken itself wasn't flavored but the batter was. Made a reservation for 10/16 @ 12pm. Not busy. Arrived 11:55p , sat @ 12p got our food at 12:40p, the pairs to our left and to our right ordered, ate and Practically paid before me and my boyfriend got halfway through our meal :) Mindful of what we ordered: 1 pancake, eggs, bacon and a turkey sandwich with fries. Only thing fresh was the pancake. Seemed like there were two servers manning our three tables. The guy from the previous time who took almost 20 mins to greet us and get our order and a lady who would skip over our table to check on the two beside us up until the point we were already eating our food. Not once In our 40 min wait period. Overall, chicken sandwich mid, pancake was mid, turkey sandwich mid. Dress nice, maybe don't be brown idk save your coins. read more

Visiting from Seattle and stayed at the state hotel. Service and location was impeccable. We were next to everything so that was a definite plus! Ben Paris was the restaurant attached to the hotel and let me say, this food was AMAZING! We enjoyed a mimosa and espresso martini, breakfast sandwich and parfait. This was my first time and it lived up to its viral expectations. We ordered the breakfast plate (I recommend! You get a little taste of everything ), truffle fries, and the pancakes. The pancakes were yummy and really good crepe like texture BUT they had a weird Smokey meat essence. Like they were cooked on the same surface as the bacon or sausage ... we also ordered a pitcher of mimosa which was $56!!! Kind of over priced ??!! Overall, id come back again for the food and ambiance/decor. The service was okay/mid. We tried to explain the pancake situation bc my friend is vegetarian and it was off putting savory flavor. But they kind of ignored it. And our waitress didnt say much to us the entire time besides "enjoy ". read more

Atmosphere: 5/5 Cute interior! Lots of windows which allowed a lot of natural lighting. Located below(?) the State Hotel. There are two entrances - we went in through the hotel side so we had to walk to the other end of the restaurant to be greeted by the host. Service: 3/5 It seemed like there was only one main person serving all the tables. Service was OK, it took quite awhile to get service after being seated. No introduction, he just had his notepad out and asked us what we wanted. Food: 4/5 I got the Ben Paris Breakfast which comes with two eggs, your choice of bacon or Andouille sausage, toast, potatoes, and a mini yogurt parfait. Food tasted great! No complaints, although prices are a bit steep for what it is but we are in Seattle. It's not your typical American breakfast place as the menu options are very limited. We paid around $49 for two dishes including a 3% surcharge that goes to the staff. Location: 4/5 Literally right by the Pike Place Market! Street parking or seems like there are some parking garages near by. We made reservations and also suggest everyone else to do the same, although I don't think I saw anyone waiting when we went at 10:30AM on a Friday. read more

Fast, friendly service, large portions of food nice ambience, good place to have a breakfast

The absolute worst meal I've ever had. Came here for Thanksgiving dinner and everything was awful. The turkey was gamey, the mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy were all gluey. The bitter greens did not taste fresh nor were they dressed well. The cranberry was sour. The green beans were burned and topped with goopy white sauce (I actually sent these back and asked them to please taste them so they knew what they were sending out. They never sent a replacement). Even the caramel on the pumpkin tart was bitter. I couldn't believe they were actually serving this. Texture was not good and everything was way under seasoned. I know it's a holiday and the place was busy but there's no excuse for how bad it was. A very expensive mistake. Even though the server was working hard to make sure everyone had what they needed I was never asked if I needed a refill on my drink. Staff seemed overwhelmed. All the food came out at different times, we were done with turkey before we even got the potatoes. Dishes were served family style, however we had a party of 3 and didn't receive additional portions than the 2 tops, I'm not sure why we were charged by person of that was going to be the case. read more
