We were in Seattle overnight before embarking on a cruise. Staying at the Paramount Hotel, we wanted to find dinner in the close vicinity and the hotel staff mentioned this place, which was just a block or so down from them. After reviewing Yelp (always!!) we decided to give it a try because it was close by. The restaurant wasn't very busy which is usually a tip-off but again, we just wanted to eat and get back to the room after a long day of travel getting to Seattle. We started with the Sourdough Loaf, which we loved!!! They serve you a huge loaf of sourdough on a board along with a small jar of honey and some whipped butter and some sea salt to sprinkle over your slice. Nothing like warm sourdough, spread with butter, drizzled with honey and a small sprinkle of salt to get those taste buds working! Well worth the $11.00 they charge. Wife chose the grilled shrimp, which was served with several shrimp (not really jumbo as it said on the menu), polenta, blistered tomato, shishito, verde, fried garlic, and parsley. She said it was good although lacked a bit of flavor considering the salsa over the top. The shrimp were a tad over cooked but still ok. I chose the salmon, 6oz wild caught king salmon, asparagus, vegetable risotto, beurre blanc, frisée, pea shoots, and lemon vinaigrette. The salmon was good and cooked well but the whole dish was just overwhelming for me! There was asparagus, no pea shoots to be found but a big handful of frisee over the top of the dish with a light drizzle of their lemon vinaigrette. It was a pretty plate but really lacked the flavor with all of the components together. Our server, Ava was friendly and it didn't take long for food to come out once we ordered. It was an OK experience and I doubt we would come back if back in Seattle at some point. Note: When the bill came and I was reviewing it ($101.75 for two dinners, bread and water) I noticed a statement at the bottom of the bill that states "a taxable 18% Service Charge is added to each check. 100% of the service charge is distributed to the colleagues. HAPPY HOUR ONLY! The best oyster happy hour in Seattle! $2 oysters and $10 specialty cocktails. We came here twice because we needed to get our oyster fix. We've probably had a total of 54 oysters. And they have old fashions on their $10 happy hour cocktails. They made it well too! So delicious. The oysters were fresh and delicious, it satisfied the cravings. Come here for the HH! We walked down to this quaint little spot from our hotel while staying in town. The ambiance was very nice. Great tables and easily accommodating to our party of 9. The service was great! Everyone was friendly and when we asked about menu items we were given honest opinions and options for some of our food restrictions. As a gluten free person the fish and chips is one of the best I've had! The tartar sauce was the perfect addition and the pieces of fish are generous! Everyone else enjoyed their dishes, we had the halibut, clam chowder, bread, smash burger, Caesar salad and everything was really good! Visiting Seattle for the week and we've been walking past this place, so we decided to stop in on a rainy morning for breakfast. It wasn't busy when we walked in, but the waiter didn't give us a real greeting. She just asked how many and pointed us to a table. Once we sat down, she handed us menus and water, but didn't even pour the water for us. I've never been to a restaurant where they don't pour water when you're first seated, especially when it's slow. Both my boyfriend and I ordered the Classic. I asked for extra eggs and I honestly regret it. The only things that were good on the plate were the bread, bacon and chicken sausage. The eggs were extremely overcooked and had a strange taste and texture almost like whipped cream. My boyfriend and I looked at each other like what is this. I tried to eat them but the taste was so unpleasant that I couldn't. On top of that the waiter never checked on us at all. She didn't ask how the food was or if we needed anything. Drinks were slightly cheaper and waiting very polite and prompt. We order small dishes and they were good: chowder came with a splash of olive oil and "bang bang shrimps" felt like a bit too "ready to eat from package". They were "not bad". Tidal+ is the main sit-down restaurant in Hyatt Olive 8. Its a seafood place for lunch and dinner, but for mornings its traditional American breakfast. We came here for breakfast for two days and the selections were decent. The used local ingredients lime Ellenos Yogurt and Beecher's for the cheese in omelets. Blackberry pancakes were fluffy and large, and I like the variety of condiments. The Granola is good too with good balance of fresh fruit and yogurt. The coffee is pricy at $5/cup but I enjoyed the strong, bold flavors. Unfortunately, they don't offer peanut butter as an option for toast. read more

I came up to Seattle from Portland today. I was looking for a place to eat and title was in the lobby in the hotel I stayed at. I went in and had a bowl of chowder and fish and chips. The chowder was really good, but the fish was Head shoulders above the normal restaurants. I have fish at in Portland. Huge flake, tasty batter and came to the table nice and hot. The fries are also pretty good and they were also nice and hot. The gentleman seating people was extremely nice and very good at his job. My server was also friendly, but only saw him a couple of times throughout my meal, but the gentleman manning the door was super helpful. The only down thing about my visit was the mandatory 16% gratuity even though I was by myself. We don't do that in Portland and it kind of hit me by surprise. When I tip, I tip well and to be quite honest if the 16% wasn't mandatory I would've given 20 to 25% . But if they want to charge me a tip without even giving me the opportunity to tip for good service then that's what they get. read more

I stopped her for a quick bite before heading to the airport. It was a Saturday so brunch was served until 1 pm or so. I was seated right away and service was quick and efficient. Small bites (non breakfast items) were served after 10 am so I opted for oysters and a small side salad. The side salad wasn't on the menu but they were nice enough to accommodate me. Oyster shooters with vodka were heavy on sour mix and stingy on vodka (maybe 1/2 ounce-3/4 ounce). Clam chowder tasted solely of rosemary. Wine was mediocre. Like juice overall used in everything was old. (Bitter) -- this ruined the aguachile cocktail and also oyster shooters. With so many choices in DT Seattle, we would not be back Overrated. We were staying at the Hyatt at Oliver 8, and Tidal+ is the restaurant/bar inside of the hotel. We did happy hour and picked a few things of the menu to try as well as drinks. The oysters were high quality and I would recommend them, especially at the happy hour price which they are a little cheaper as well. The fries and the spinach dip were also good. I was less impressed by the drinks but would definitely recommend the food. Our server was okay but we did have to flag her down to get the check since they seemed to be pretty busy. As a side note, we were told we would have a credit and so we went here each night but it turned out that the conference block had waived the credit that most guests get here. Although it wasn't the restaurant's fault, it was frustrating that there was no way for them to check that or for us to know that we didn't have the credit when we charged the items to our room. I wish that Tidal+ had a way to verify hotel credit (or lack thereof). read more

The restaurant itself is located in the Hyatt Olive 8 hotel. It has its own entrance off the street or you can enter through the hotel lobby. I love the open and clean decor. The staff is friendly and we were greeted and seated right away. My group tried a bunch of dishes, and my personal fave was the scallop entree. The scallops were soft and cooked perfectly, and whatever green sauce was on top of the scallops added great flavor. The fish and chips were also a hit among the group! read more

Tidal review Food I was impressed by the amount of gluten free options and the dishes all seemed well curated. I had the gluten free fish and chips. There was great flavor in the tartar sauce which seemed to be in-house. The fish was crispy and cooked to perfection. I was a bit disappointed with the bottom of the fish seemed mushy. I couldn't tell if it was from the condensation from steam of being plated while hot or if it was from the grease. It was served on a wood block. Additionally, the fries were delicious-- crispy and flavorful. Service Not the servers fault but our party had gotten a mix up on their order which took about 20 minutes to correct. She offered my friend a complimentary dessert for the inconvenience, which was kind, but I felt should have been another form of complimentary gesture since he basically had to eat his meal alone because we pretty much finished ours by the time his arrived. Our server was pleasant and tried their best to communicate over the noise in the restaurant. As we arrived, our server preemptively apologized for the loud volume of the restaurant, noting the "terrible acoustics" of the restaurant. She wasn't lying. There was a large group about 15 feet from us and we had to shout amongst our group to hold a conversation. Even when the group dispersed, there was still a loudness to the restaurant that just hummed above normal volume. I wouldn't recommend going here for an intimate evening or during busy hours if you want to have a conversation. Aesthetics Beautiful light fixtures, wood and white quartz throughout the restaurant with elegant table center pieces. Very comfortable furniture and a lot of windows but it's on a busy street so be mindful that there's a lot of traffic and foot traffic so this can take a way from an intimate evening because it's so distracting. Overall, I recommend this establishment for the food. Maybe more appropriate for a business related evening than an intimate gathering. read more

Music was nice, the place is right by a pretty busy bus stop, and I did not hear any busses. Steak Tacos - 2/5 Comes with two steak tacos, topped with red pickle and I think it was guac? I ate that first, I the steak was okay, corn tortillas were not very hot, guac was hidden on the bottom and flavorless. Served with a side of sweet salsa (not even close to hot) and ketchup??? My wife did not like her taco. Fish and Chips - 1.5/5 The rockfish was good at first, then we noticed the bones... a lot of bones. The tartar sauce was really good, but we could taste the age of oil, and the fish became very fishy tasting over the course of the meal. Good chips, until they too cooled down and we tasted the oil. I did not finish it. Clam Chowder - 2/5 Not great, probably mid to low tier. My wife is a celiac, and we are very careful to explain her needs and restrictions. The server was very receptive and took care of us. GF items are clearly labeled, it's unlikely that you'll get glutened here. You might feel sick for other reasons... we did. The manager (I think) was helpful and attentive, they removed the fish and chips from our bill. read more

Solid place to get seafood at the Hyatt. It's definitely pricey but that is to be expected for a restaurant in the Hyatt. The food is good, but there's nothing special about the food so it's the biggest selling point is that it's in the Hyatt. The oysters were fresh and I liked the lemon slices. The vinaigrette that came with the oysters was surpassingly good, even though I usually don't like vinegar. I do wish there was some salt on the table so I could've added some salt. But overall the oysters were good. We also go the chowder, which was good but a bit overly salty. The service is good. We got seated quickly, the food came promptly, and we got the check promptly. I appreciated how they made sure to clean our tables pretty much as soon as we finished a dish. The inside is well decorated. It feels modern with the blue lighting. My wife did not agree that it was chicken breast. She was very disappointed with the dark meat. I had the fish and chips and I could barely finish one piece. I stayed at Hyatt at Olive 8. They offered a lovely perk of $15 a day to hotel guests. Modern restaurant with oyster shucked in the center. We stopped in for happy hour daily while there. Easily the best value and most flavor would be the daily oysters for $2 each. We also tried the ceviche, seafood chowder, spinach artichoke dip, but these items lacked flavor and had temperature issues. We visited Tidal+ twice during our stay. The first was after check-in. We had a long day of travel delays and did not want to venture far for dinner. We were promptly seated and the wait staff helped orient us to the menu selections. Our drinks arrived quickly and were delicious. We enjoyed the fried Brussels sprouts, more than expected! (And enjoyed all of our food selections.) I was very pleased to find a great place to eat right in the lobby of our hotel! On the last night of our stay, we met a friend for drinks before dinner. Great service team and my cocktail was good. But I'm going to offend the chef with the remainder of my review, which I hate to do. But...this earns a 3 because my dinner was only ok. Ordered their 8oz center cut filet. Rare. It arrived with absolutely zero sear, and minimal seasoning. The exterior was just a pale grey. It was rare, but lacked almost any flavor. (I had to add salt.) Even a rare filet should have a nice sear on it and have sufficient seasoning. This was not a well made steak. It wasn't inedible or anything of the sort, but it was not good, and it was certainly not worth the $58 price tag. The mashed potatoes were flavorful and the accompanying sauce was the only saving grace to the steak. read more
