We decided to stop in at Anthony's Pier 66 for a quick lunch and we were greeted and seated by Matt, our table attendant. He is and was very nice and attentive. We enjoyed the food that we ordered, bang bang chicken, was flavorful and juicy, that was my favorite, also had the calamari, which was okay, a little extra crispiness would have taken it to another level. Then we had the clams and the chowder, they were acceptable but my friend expressed that it could have been more flavorful. I liked the restaurants vibe, as it's next to the water and you have a cruise ship to appreciate. I think the restaurant could use a bit a refresh on the interior. We came here because it was right next to the Seattle boat show and they were giving away a FREE cup of chowder with a boat show ticket! The server was super nice as was the host. Really nice inside. The only reason for the three stars is we ordered calamari and it was probably the worst calamari I've ever had. It was very lightly fried and all clumped together. It tasted soggy like when eating not that crispness that accompanies most calamari. I would've sent the calamari back if it wasn't for the free chowder. The chowder was really good. Honestly, this place always delights me with their very fresh grilled fish and seasonal choice of sides! Not to mention the incredible view over the marina and overlooking all downtown Seattle. So we sat down. The plate waiting at my table was visibly dirty. I would expect a place that advertises itself as borderline fine dining would look at its dishes before setting them out? I got a mule mocktail and there was massive chunks of pickled ginger. Like the pink stuff they serve at sushi restaurants. Not what I imagined when they said ginger. We ordered an array of appetizers for our meal. The calamari was greasy and salty, not off to a great start. The mussels, clams, clam chowder, and ahi nachos were great though! So. Not all bad. But it was definitely not what I was expecting. And we eat a lot of really nice places. Things like not clearing the wine glasses from the table when we ordered wine. I walked all the way to Anthony's Pier 66 on a Monday evening around 8 PM, planning to grab dinner since Maps showed it was open until 9. Unfortunately, when I arrived the entire place seemed closed -- chairs up on the tables -- even though the sign still indicated they were open. Pretty disappointing not to be able to try it after making the trip. The area is a bit hit-and-miss when it comes to walkability, wouldn't recommend at night and parking might be tricky depending on the time of day. That said, the location itself is beautiful -- it's right on the water, and the setting is great. I'll hopefully get to try the actual food next time, but this visit was a letdown. read more

We ordered a dozen oysters which were small ( a few were actually empty). They were outrageous priced and in our opinion a waste of your money. We had a duet which is now $59 and we had a tuna which was $58. These are all al cart and the cut of fish is not so large as you can see from the photos quite small I feel for the cost. You do get quite a bit of rice in the middle of dish covered with different sauces, mango or ginger or whatever it may be. I think for this prices point they should probably toss in a salad but a small Caesar salad is $14. If you'd like to add that to your dish for the price. Went here for happy hour and made it in the last 15 mins. Our server was very accommodating and managed to ring everything up before the 6pm cut off. The drinks were inviting and the food was all decent. The clams were a hit. The dip was a bit too strong in the smoky chipotle flavor for me but I quite enjoyed the chowder. I took his recommendation and tried their seasonal berry margarita -- it was delish! We ordered some appetizers like calamari and the ahi tuna taro chips. In a way this restaurant reminds me of an older slightly dated fancy eatery you went to on very special occasions with your parents. I think the warm bread is one of the best parts of the meal. Steaks were priced over $50 and seafood priced over $40. We ordered steak, fish, soup, children's meal and calamari. Waitress seemed rushed. Possibly a little nervous? She took our order incorrectly because she misheard . She took our orders, someone else brought the food and then we didn't see her the rest of the evening until the end of meal with the check. As a Seattle local, and someone who's eaten a lot of fish n chips in the area, I can with all certainty say WHAT THE F**K. This is such a rip off I can't even believe it. Plus, I tipped y'all 20% and asked for the takeout portion to be deconstructed cause it had to travel. Literally just had to put sauce in a cup and tortillas on top so I could reconstruct it all at home. I got none of that. The fries were fine. The fish batter was crisp. This seafood restaurant was highly recommended by a friend, so we made a reservation before arriving to Seattle, and got seated right away. The restaurant is right on the water with a bite of the Grand Wheel all lit up, and some boats in their slips. When you enter the building, there is Anthony's Bell Street Dinner (more casual, bigger menu, Lowe's prices), but we took the elevators up to the higher end Anthony's Pier 66. The restaurant was long and narrow with a line of high booths on one side and tables along the window on the other. If felt very closed in. We ordered cocktails. Hubby got a really strong mai tai, and I got my fave, an amaretto sour. We were served a bread basket with three kings of bread, and a butter dish decorated with a spring of thyme and a marigold. The menu was relatively small. There were good choices. The "small plates" were very appetizer-y, and I didn't want any of those, so even though I wasn't very hungry, I ordered the same thing as hubby. We ordered the King Salmon Duo. It was a half filet of king salmon (so delicious) and a half filet of halibut (good), served with mashed potatoes (mediocre), and green beans (delicious). With both of us having a huge lunch, neither of us finished the potatoes or green beans. Hubby managed to finish his fish, but I left with more than half of my meal boxed. I recently celebrated my birthday at this restaurant, which I hadn't visited in over 30 years. My husband chose it for this special occasion, and one of our children arranged for a complimentary bottle of champagne. However, our experience left much to be desired. Upon our arrival, the hostess escorted us to a gorgeous booth by the window. The server kindly took our drink orders, and I specifically requested a signature Pom Martini that was tart and not sugary, making it clear to avoid a sugar rim. Instead, I received a syrupy drink with sugar around the rim--what?! The server took it away and "tried to improve it," but when it came back, it was lukewarm. I thought they might have shaken it up with more ice and vodka or renamed it, but they did not. At least they didn't charge extra for their mistake. My husband's cocktail was correct, but moments later, they brought out the sparkling wine that had been set up the day before. Why wasn't that waiting for us at the table we had reserved days in advance? It felt like either a mishap or an attempt to squeeze an extra $30 out of us. This rocky start put us on edge, but we were hopeful that the rest of the meal would improve. Unfortunately, it didn't. Another staff member brought out two glasses of water without asking. While that was a thoughtful gesture, at a high-end restaurant, a simple introduction and an inquiry about ice would have been appreciated. When I requested one without ice, he was sweet and responsive, but it felt a bit off for the setting. Later on, my husband discreetly asked the manager about birthday treats. The manager mentioned they usually provide a complimentary dessert, but knowing I do not eat sugar, my husband inquired about healthier options. The result was an offer to substitute an appetizer instead, so we ordered the black cod. It was delicious, but unfortunately drenched in runny mayonnaise sauce. A simple adjustment of serving the sauce on the side would have made a significant difference, especially since there wasn't any salt to enhance the dish. As someone with a severe nut allergy, I found it challenging to find anything on the menu that was safe for me to order. The service was lacking; it often felt like our waiter forgot to deliver items he promised. The sourdough bread was dry and served cold, my incorrect drink was disappointing, and the bland butter didn't help. The only "safe" and reasonably priced Sole Almondine special was gone by 8:00 PM. With entrées all over $47, I opted to skip the meal entirely. On a brighter note, my husband ordered a meal and declared it "the best halibut he had ever tasted." However, the sauce on the plate was underwhelming, and he received just four asparagus spears for $52--not worth it at all! The asparagus was a bit mushy at the ends and unevenly cooked, which was frustrating. While he felt bad that I couldn't find anything to eat, I was content sipping sparkling wine and enjoying the view of the boats. He convinced me to try one asparagus spear and a bite of his halibut, which is how I knew about his meal. The basmati rice was cooked perfectly, but honestly, I've had fresher halibut cooked my way at home! For those who love capturing memories in photos, be aware that the stunning sunset and boats outside the restaurant make it difficult to see faces clearly. Ironically, you'll fare better taking photos earlier in the day or when the sun isn't blaring. However, you can capture some great shots indoors with natural light. Despite the issues with food and service, I want to give credit to the manager for being friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately, he didn't address our concerns, so I can't fault him too much, as he likely had no influence over these matters. While I had high expectations for this visit, they ultimately went unmet. I sincerely hope that Anthony's can address these concerns to provide better experiences for future guests. I did not want to think too deep, but I did. Why pick those two places. Other than that he was a good server. Anyway, my review of the food. - The meal comes with complimentary rolls which were nice and warm. - Ken recommended the claim chowder, and OMG it was amazing. I don't normally eat claim chowder, but I could have had my owl bowl. - The Ceasars said was good, the Cesar dressing taste fresh. -The halibut. Was good along with the veggies just how I like them with a little crunch and the mash potatoes were good, just needed a little more flavor. I thought the serving size was going to be bigger, however it was a nice amount. -The shrimp tempura was good, it also came with tempura mushrooms and asparagus on a bed of rice. The food was priced at fine dining levels, but wasn't up to that level - meaning it was expensive and not very compelling. What you're really paying for is the view out over the docks and bay. Anthony's is a restaurant chain with 20+ locations across the west. To make my point, if you compare the menu for Boise to Pier 66, the black cod costs $29 in Boise and $46 at this Pier 66 location. For appetizers we shared calamari, ahi poke tacos, and some melted Brie. The calamari was your average calamari that you could get anywhere. The melted Brie was a thin melted slab of brie with some scattered nuts and crackers and other small bites that looked nice, but didn't make much sense. The ahi tacos is some ahi poke on a taro chip. You get five taro chips with some ahi on each chip. This was the best of the appetizers. Along with my meal, I had the Dungeness crab and corn chowder. Here's the menu description: Dungeness crab in a silky crab bisque with freshly baked corn soufflé and fresh roasted corn. What I was served was a thin, flavorless soup, with a couple small pieces of crab. The corn soufflé was a small puck of slightly rubbery corn pudding and a few pieces of corn scattered in the soup. The soup was no where near what I was expecting based on the description. For a main course, I had the tempura shrimp. The shrimp were decent size. The tempura asparagus were good. The fried coating was thin, but slightly greasy. Just average for fried food. You'll get better tempura at Japanese restaurants. The portions were decent size - more than enough. The rest of the table had the black cod and one person ordered a filet mignon. The fish looked fine. The steak came drowning in sauce - I hate to see steaks like that. The service was good and attentive. Personally, I'm a "foodie" and I always prioritize the food over the ambience. Went here for my birthday with my wife and with expectations. Sadly I feel that close to $300 was spent on a subpar dinner and experience. The most disappointing part was paying $85 for copper river king salmon and getting a small, cold, dry piece of salmon with a few pieces of potatoes and asparagus. Massively disappointing and overpriced. The drinks and oysters were okay, and the table by a window also. I thought I'd have trouble getting seated, but when I got there, the place was virtually empty. I thought that was strange. I ordered the cod fish-n-chips. The fish seemed more like fish nuggets as opposed to fillets. The portion was pretty small. It was good, but really small. Maybe this is the reason there weren't a lot of people? I don't know. Really good app and they give you loads of it. - Corn chowder soup with crab - 7/10: not bad. Had a nice blend of the sweetness of corn along with the saltiness of the crab. Although I only got like one little bitty crab piece. - Wild Alaskan King Salmon - 7.5/10: Thick, large cut of salmon. Cooked medium and had a cream with capers sauce on it, with a side of rice and broccoli. Rice had flecks of brown sugar on top or something sweet, which I thought was uncessary and didn't do anything for it. Other than that, it was a good, but expensive dish. Well we came in from out of town to catch a cruise boat on Tuesday and was staying across the street at the Marriott. What a disappointing bust the whole experience was at Anthony's . . The food Nazi at the downstairs more casual fish bar said they were on an hour wait. Even though there were lots of tables available and there was no one else waiting. So we left and walked around awhile and came back. Only to be told by the manager they were now closed but the upstairs was open for 30 mins more. With a much more expensive menu. Who ever is trying to run expensive property needs to rethink their business model. The rent here would not be cheap. It's 8:30 and I'm back in my room starving. With plenty of comfortable outdoor seating and a bar that makes a decent old fashioned, I doubt you will be disappointed.
