Host didn't seem to like children. They had a kids menu, we are in the middle of a tourist area, and there's a cruise ship parked next door at the peir. Yet, we could feel the vibe right away as they chided my five year old for taking a step towards their bar area. Then, asked us to wait for a reservation time by ushering us into the foyer and demonstratively shutting the door in between. Since i was short on time and the family was tired, we ate here anyways but with the vibe off, didn't bother to get my usual whole dungeness or king crab. Why spend money when the staff doesn't smile at you. Got the kids their kids meals, and a couple sandwiches. Open face crab sandwich looked like crap but tasted great. The cold lobster and shrimp roll was good. We were there the whole lunch rush and noticed they didn't once go into the salt water tank for a fresh crab or have fresh seafood placed in the ice bins for display. I would understand if there was a wait for a table, but there wasn't, one of the waiters was very rude to my daughter, which was very surprising for a grown man to give a 14 yr old girl an attitude for a simple question about the menu. I really enjoyed my dinner at Cutters Crabhouse! My dad and I ordered a lot of meals to share because we wanted a taste of iconic Seattle dishes, and everything was great. I have to give a special mention to the clam chowder, chipotle shrimp, and the sea bass - they were fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The resturant itself is in the iconic Pike Market and is on the waterfront, so created a truly stunning, calming and authentic dining experience. Our server was so friendly and helpful. Cutters is back in the playlist, and I returned for the first time in years, you can't recreate that view on the Eastside. First up, a heads up. It's a corporate restaurant, the waiter's are all schooled in the art of upselling. Just relax and let them do their routine, they are required to so don't get upset. We went into town with family and decided to have lunch at Cutter's, great location right next to Pike Place with a gorgeous view (try and ask for a table by the window). Our server was a sweetheart, very friendly, helpful and made sure our water glasses were always filled. We had one of their lunch specials, fish and chips, salmon burger and a lobster sandwich. I loved my fish and chips, nice crispy batter and great fries. The lunch fish and lobster roll were also complimented. The only item that could have used a bit more sauce was the salmon sandwich, the fish was pretty dry. I feel it's a great choice for lunch (never tired the dinner menu), so would totally come back again either for lunch or try dinner. read more

We grabbed two spots at the bar and ordered a few drinks and multiple appetizers to share from their happy hour menu. I really enjoyed the spicy margarita and the ahi tuna tacos. I was intrigued by the thin cut French fries with old bay seasoning and enjoyed them. I'm a sucker for thin/crispy fries and love old bay seasoning. The edamame was average at best. We had some Landry's credits that were about to expire, so we decided to give Cutters Crabhouse a try. While waiting at the hostess stand, we were greeted by the bar-area server -- he was great. The hostess was also pleasant and personable. Shortly after we were seated, our server came over. He was nice, though quiet and reserved. We started with the Little Gem Wedge Salad. While I prefer a more traditional wedge, the homemade blue cheese dressing was phenomenal. I ordered the Fish and Chips -- unfortunately, it was a miss. Some of the worst I've ever had. When I broke open the fish, water trickled out, which was a pretty clear indication it wasn't fresh. My first red flag should have been that the menu didn't list the type of fish. The beer batter was overcooked, and the oil tasted old. My dining partner had the Dungeness crab and shrimp fettuccine and said it was great. As we were leaving, the bar-area server thanked us for coming in and asked if we needed parking validated -- which we appreciated, since our server had forgotten. Parking isn't fully validated, but you do get a 50% off sticker. Overall, Cutters was a one-and-done for us. We both agreed it's not worth a return visit. read more

I asked for bread and they brought some garlicky bread that was OK. Crab and shrimp fettuccini: outstanding. Flavorful, just the right texture, yumbolicious. Great spot right by Pike Place Market. Everything we ordered was delicious and the seafood was fresh. I felt the prices were fair. We came twice during our weekend trip, once for happy hour and another time for lunch service. Heather took great care of us during happy hour, despite being so busy! The ahi tacos and crab dip were fabulous. James was so patient and attentive which was so appreciated as we brought our elderly companions for lunch service the following day. I am so happy we came here. We did have to wait 10 minutes for the hostess to show up. The people behind us left and we almost did too but glad we stuck it out. Ethan was our server and was absolutely wonderful. We also got to sit in the window with a view which added a magical touch to our celebrations. We got the Thai mussels, kids butter pasta, oysters and Whole Dungeness Crab. We had informed Ethan of our toddlers allergies and him and the staff took them seriously. I was really impressed. He also recommended the Dungeness crab and I'm so glad he did. It was our first time ordering a live crab at a restaurant. So fresh and we were able to split it, even our toddler enjoyed some. Really friendly service but sadly the food was not that good or fresh. Although we enjoyed the raw oysters and the mussels which came in a tasty curry sauce, the rest was largely a miss. The crab was not fresh and did not taste good, so it was sad to waste as much money as we did on it. For sides, we got mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, which were meh - nothing to write home about. The caesar salad was fine also. Our family dined here for Thanksgiving which only had the three course set menu option at $59 per person. Three of us ordered the surf n turf and sake Chilean sea bass. The sea bass was pretty good, but too salty. I was very disappointed with my steak bc it was not served hot or warm. It was pretty much at room temperature. It was cooked to medium rare, which I asked for, but you can tell the steak has been sitting on the counter for quite awhile before it was served. My fig salad was good, but I wished it had more fig to it. The best part of the meal was the dessert: crème brûlée was excellent. Service was decent. For $59, I had higher expectations. read more

Nothing went well for my entire table (food/service), which was disappointing because the concierge at my hotel highly recommended it. We went back and informed the concierge about our experience, and they called the management. My mom and I were blown away by out Cutters experience. I have seen this place for years, but never walked in because I always thought that it was a super high end place like it's neighbor Aerlume. We came in for lunch one day and it happened to be Seattle Restaurant Week I believe. So many wonderful things we had. The bread they serve is hot, soft and pillowy, slathered in a foamy garlic butter. The clam chowder was perfect. Not one rubbery clam in sight. We got two entrees and shared. Mom and I both agreed that the crab stuffed sole was the star. A stellar dish in presentation, execution, and taste. The grilled veggies were addicting. The salmon pesto pasta was our least favorite. The pesto was very light, salmon was tender and not overcooked, but unfortunately, the whole dish was really greasy. Easy on the oil chef! We normally don't do dessert, but it was apart of the deal we go so we had the key lime pie and boy was it a treat. Buttery graham cracker crust, light and airy key lime. This was a hit. We received wonderful service from Ethan. He was very kind, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave great suggestions. Guess what? He's also the bartender! We stayed for happy hour and Ethan made my delicious prickly pear margarita. I had 2. Along with the great food and service, the space looks great. Very classy and contemporary decor. Cocktails: Amalfi stroll was nice and herby, easy to drink. The Effervesce was an odd mix of herby and sweet. We also had two glasses of the Zenato Pinot Grigio, which was crisp and refreshing. We loaded up on appetizers and ordered a small dish as well. The rundown. - Mushroom bruschetta. This is basically a nice garlic toast with sautéed mushrooms and a sprinkle of Parmesan. The $6 HH price is appropriate.. - Grilled asparagus. Because we needed something green... simply grilled and tasty. Not on the HH menu and a tad expensive at $12. - Sashimi Ahi Tacos. Using a won ton wrapper for the shell is genius! Crispy, stuffed full of fish, and well balanced flavor. We ordered a second round of these; they're that good. - Yellow fin tuna roll. These were a little confusing, but they're large and flavorful. - Burrata amd prosciutto. Also not on the HH menu, but I love a good burrata and could t resist. So worth it at just under $20. Large (shareable) plate with grilled bread (enjoyed that it's soft on one side and grilled in the other), generous amount of prosciutto (no squabbles with companion necessary), decently sized burrata (could have been a tad more at room temp), and a dollop of olive tapenade (unctuous) and cherry compote. I'd get this again. Service was pleasant. Upon hearing it was a shared birthday celebration, they brought us a complimentary slice of chocolate cake.
