We came here for their happy hour. We arrived about 30 minutes before happy hour and ordered non-happy hour food first and then ordered drinks and oysters once it hit three. The food was just okay. We ordered a fried food combo. The fried shrimp was good, the fried squid was average and the fried fish had a great batter but the fish was just okay. The best part were the fries but the dish overall was salty. We also ordered to chowders but neither were great. The oysters were a decent size but some of them didn't smell super fresh. read more

I was honestly really surprised by Mr. Fish. The reviews aren't great and it's right by Pike Place Market, so I didn't expect much, but it ended up being a great experience. Service was really good, and the outdoor patio was lovely, especially on a sunny day. It's also dog friendly, which was a nice bonus. I was in town just in time for Seattle Restaurant Week in the Fall so I made sure to make a reservation to be able to try their $20 special of a super delicious green tomato + shrimp patty sandwich, chips, and an IPA beer. My reservation was for the weekend and I am glad I made one as this spot will fill up fast due to the Pike Place business of it (rightfully so!). I was seated at the bar and had a good view of all the food, cocktails, and beers that were made for the rest of the patrons. The fish and chips looked great but I had it made with my shrimp patty sandwich and special. I was so delighted by the coleslaw and the creativity of offering a special. I was super grateful of the bartender who served me and gave me some really awesome recommendations of other spots to go visit for coffee, dive bars, and an afternoon treat. We had to remind him of that when he sled which kind of chowder we wanted. We both got the Mr Fish combo that included a small bowl of chowder, a small piece of fish, and fries. It took a little while for our food to come. When it did, the presentation was good, but unfortunately the food taste was not. The fries and were both just warm. I'm pretty sure they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a couple hours. The chowder seemed overly salty, and the crackers looked like Pepperidge farm seasoned fish crackers that were already in the chowder. Wish they had served those on the side so we could decide to put them in the chowder or not. We were hungry so we ate most everything, but about halfway through both came to the conclusion that the food was just not very good. When the sever first came around and asked how our food was, we had just gotten it, but although I very rarely complain about food at a restaurant, I wish I had called him back and said, "Your service is good, but could you please ask the kitchen to try again with some fried food that hasn't been sitting under the heat lamp for a long time, and could we please get the chowder with the crackers on the side?" Since we were limited on time we made a reservation. Although we probably didn't need one; since it was 4pm on a Thursday there were still multiple open tables when we arrived. I expect this place gets busier during peak lunch and dinner hours though, given its proximity to the market. We both got the King of the Sea with the Smoked Seafood Chowder. We also got a pair of oysters. I was not a fan of the oysters. They had a milky consistency and an unpleasant aftertaste. This being said; I don't eat oysters frequently, so I'm not an oyster connoisseur. The rest of the food was good. The fish was crispy and moist. The fries were thick cut and seasoned well. I will say, it was a great lunch-sized portion. But if you're going here for dinner you might to want add a second piece of fish or get the full fish & chips meal. The single piece of fish the King of the Sea comes with isn't very big. I found myself craving another piece. It's very walkable to Pike Place so convenient if you're in that area. We went here today 03/16/2026 and for the stars they have, we would've thought it was a lot better. The food was disgusting we got 2 fish and chips, the fish was soggy falling apart and dripping with oil I couldnt even eat it, the chips were almost raw and they were cold. We ordered the salmon dip appetizer which was ok but was overwhelmed with thyme (i think was seasoning). My husband ordered the chowder which he said was the best part of our meal the only thing he didnt like was the stale gold fish crackers on top of it. For what they charged ($115) for this we expected it to be way more appetizing then it was, paying that amount for less then mediocre food ruined our entire day. This place is absolutely over priced for food that was worse then eating fast food. 100% wouldn't recommend eating here and we'll never be back. I will add though the wait staff is super friendly. Our first time in the area, for an Alaskan cruise. I did some research on restaurants in and around Pikes Place Market and I'm glad we came here. I was worried that 5:00 on a Friday might be hard to get seated at most restaurants, but we were seated right away. And the tartar sauce, I was told, is made fresh daily, in-house, and it was also delicious. The fries were great, I believe fresh cut. My side salad was interesting; leaves of lettuce wrapped around the inside of the bowl, with slices of radish and a Dijon vinaigrette dressing. I enjoyed it! My husband's fish platter had cod, shrimp and calamari, which was all very yummy., but he liked the cod so much he wished he had got the fish and chips. When asked if we wanted dessert, we declined as we were so full from dinner, but then we saw a piece of pie at a neighboring table that was maybe 4-5" high, so we had to ask. Our waiter informed us it was a toasted coconut pie (homemade in-house) and on special for half price, so we took a slice to go. It was also delicious! I went to Pike's Fish Market for the first time in about 30 years. As far as i remember it still looks the same. The restaurants inside the market were packed... with tourist. I decided to walk outside of the market and found this place a short distance away. Mr Fish is located across from Victor Steinbrueck Park. It's a small sidewalk café with indoor/outdoor seating. The $2 Happy Hour Oysters sign caught my eye! I sat on an outside table. It was chilly. I ordered 6 oysters, a bowl of clam chowder, and a Georgetown Tavern Lager on Tap. The chowder came out first. It was topped with seasoned fish crackers. The size was smaller than I expected, for the price. But it was flavorful and had a lot of clams. Probably still a good price compared to inside the market. The oysters were fresh. They came with lemon wedges and a spiced vinegar sauce. They were so good, I wanted to order more. But I had more exploring to do. Full disclosure: I'm not a huge fan of fries, in general, but these seemed firmer and more potatoey than usual. We tried a chowder, too. It was nice and thick the way I like it, but Mr Fish has a thing for smoked clams (the chowder was smoky and they also serve a smoked clam dip). Fan of thick, less of a fan of smoke.
