    Rockfish Tacos
    Connie A.

My friend and I came here on a busy Saturday but it's a huge restaurant in a popular tourist area so they are definitely well-suited to accommodate lunch rushes. We got patio seating and ordered the rockfish tacos, the king of the sea (which is a piece of cod over a bed of fries and a cup of chowder), and the 30 mile clams. Our server was nice but obviously busy and we noticed that it took our food quite a while to come. It eventually did arrive all at once and by that time we were starving lol. The clams were an absolute showstopper. We especially loved the broth and dipped everything into it because it was that good! It came with two slice of garlic bread. I even wanted to add something to it to soak up ALL the broth. My friend enjoyed the tacos and while I really liked the piece of fried cod, it was quite a small piece. The chowder was pretty good but it was 80% potato chunks. Next time I would just stick to the regular fish and chips options. And of course the clams!!

    Focaccia "crabby"

We had a lovely dinner at Mister Fish in Seattle. We started with the focaccia and made it "crabby," and it came out loaded with rich, creamy crab that was absolutely delicious. The beer‑battered Alaskan cod was perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside--and the fries were truly to die for. We also enjoyed the Rockfish tacos, which were fresh, flavorful, and well‑seasoned. Service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Overall, a very enjoyable dinner.

The place was packed, which should've been a good sign but in hindsight, the crowd may have had more to do with location than quality. Our food arrived suspiciously fast for a busy house, fast enough to make you wonder whether anything was actually made to order or simply pulled from under a heat lamp. The fries were the real letdown: cold, limp, and completely devoid of flavor the kind that make you reach for the salt out of desperation rather than habit. The rest of the meal followed the same theme: technically food, forgettable in every other sense. Nothing here is bad enough to warn you away, but nothing is good enough to bring you back. Mr. Fish & Chips lands squarely in mediocre territory.

A great find when all the restaurants at Pike Place Market were packed and had 1 hour wait times. Mr Fish Chips & Chowder was getting ready to close in 1/2 hour but the 8 of us were able to get in for dinner. We were seated on 2 tables of 4's. Our waitress was super friendly and the restaurant was clean & tidy! Didn't know what to expect because we wondered if all the restaurants around here are 1 hour wait, why was Mr. Fish Chips not that crowded? We were not disappointed. Clean atmosphere, excellent service and food okay.

I loved this place! The ambience was nice, and the restaurant was clean and tidy. The staff all seemed happy to work there and attentive. The focaccia was DELICIOUS, and so was the fish and chips. The host/manager even gave me something to rest my flowers in while I ate so I didn't have to try and hold them while eating at the same time. I will definitely be back!

Good: seated quickly despite it looking kind of busy. Fried fish was a bit oily but good overall. The batter was a bit thick. Oysters were pretty good Meh: we got a dozen oysters and they did not separate the oyster from the shells, so we had to dig them out a bit. Not sure if that's expected or not, but most other places I've been in general separate the oysters completely. To be fair, they were busy. One of our orders was also forgotten but we just had them take it off the bill, as we were full.

Tom Douglas's replacement seafood joint (this + Half Shell next door) for Etta's. Good fish and chips. Desserts from Dahlia Bakery. Good food. Friendly service. Comfortable and roomy space. A nice fish and chips addition to Pike Place. Will definitely return.

I was honestly really surprised by Mr. Fish. The reviews aren't great and it's right by Pike Place Market, so I didn't expect much, but it ended up being a great experience. Service was really good, and the outdoor patio was lovely, especially on a sunny day. It's also dog friendly, which was a nice bonus. I got the Mr. Fish combo with fish and chips, calamari, and fried shrimp, and everything was delicious. The spicy, tangy tartar sauce with the calamari was especially good. Good food, good company, great setting. Honestly, I'd give it a 10 out of 10. I don't really get the negative reviews.

Great place to eat really good food and the service was fantastic. Restaurant has plenty of really cool views and is really easy to get to from the market.

The service here was good. They let me sample the smoked clam chowder before ordering. The chowder was good. I also had the fish which was tasty as well. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food. I would come back.

This was our first time at Mr. Fish, but we'll definitely be back! The service was quick and friendly. We ordered the classic fish and chips, clam chowder, a dozen oysters and a bowl of clams. The fish was perfectly fried, and the broth with the clams was delicious! The oysters came with a Tabasco mignonette, and my daughter gobbled her clam chowder.

Delicious fish and chips. Loved the tarter sauce. Thought i tasted rosemary. Friendly and fast service. Got seated right away and fish and chips came out hot and fresh! Authentic dining experience with theme of fishing throughout. Clean restrooms and friendly staff. Really enjoyed and want to come back soon!

The chile verde pork is so good, my wife, who primarily orders vegetarian, goes for all their variations, quesadillas being her favorite. This weekend is Valentine's Day, and while I am not with my beloved, George and Erika shared a sample of their new menu items, chilaquiles (heart shaped for the holiday) - both chili verde and chipotle. The other item was a stack of tres leches pancakes, with fruit. While all were delicious, I liked the chipotle chilaquiles the best. Good enough to make me consider mixing up my wet burrito with salsa macha in the future. So, we just came back from Playa del Carmen Mexico, where we hoped to have some over the top Mexican food. While breakfast was great it wasn't enough to outshine Fire Tacos. A waiter at one restaurant summed it up well. Everyone in Mexico makes good food, but the best of the best succeed in the US. The vibe is fun and loud like a usual Mexican bar/restaurant. It was a nice and warm day in Alki, an area always so crowded and can be overwhelming, on any nice warm sunny day. My daughter asked if we can try Fire Tacos because her bff said it was good. We showed up asking for a table of 4 and were told the wait is about 20 mins. We walked to Ben & Jerry next door and had a small ice cream, sat down and finished it, then got notification our table was ready. It earns a spot on my list to return, especially we live 5 mins away.

However, it still tasted like it had a really nice flavor, and had a soft interior. It being actually spicy would've moved this dish up a lot, though each taco was primarily made out of this chicken - and there was so much of it it was practically insane - but I loved this amount shoutout to the onions as well - they were great I asked for the habanero sauce - which i thought was ok - wasn't spicy at all and didn't add much flavor. will go with another sauce next time tried mixing in some taco bell fire sauce which was interesting i love that these came wrapped in aluminium foil to preserve heat. a great touch overall, as far as taste, these were pretty good, but when you consider the amount of meat you're getting, along with overall portion size - it's simply a fantastic meal.

After lots of great suggestions, we decided to detour and head to Taco City. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff -- always a great start. We kicked things off with the Dip Trio: chips, salsa, guacamole, and queso. It was fantastic. The guac and chips were on par with my longtime favorite spot, the queso was rich and delicious, and the salsa had a unique flavor that really stood out. It easily could have fed four or more people. I ordered the birria tacos. They were generously filled with flavorful beef and served with equally delicious consommé. For my personal preference, I would have loved them just a little crispier -- but otherwise, they absolutely hit the spot. My favorite dining partner ordered the Taco Trio -- two carnitas and one chicken. He's an "authentic taco" guy, and he said they were fabulous. As we were checking out, our server suggested we try the nachos next time. Don't worry -- we will definitely be back. This one just jumped to the top of our favorites list.

I knew going in that I had to try their carnitas, but it was the other dishes that impressed me the most. The quesabirria was top notch. If you haven't had one before, it's as if a quesadilla and a taco had a beautiful baby - and the tortilla is dipped in the sauce that the meat is cooked in. The cheese is plentiful and delicious, it's a blanket that I've to take a nap in. I was a bit thrown off by the chunks of birria, most places shred it up. But I would say that it was much more juicy than the shredded version, I was blown away. This comes with some awesome roasted jalapeños and onions. The carnitas taco was excellent. For a street taco, they load it up with meat. It's a very traditional taco, so just carnitas, onions, and cilantro on a tortilla. But if you have the opportunity to eat here you should, they have an extensive taco bar with everything you need. The star of the show for me was the tostada de camarón. You just don't get them like this elsewhere in Seattle. Shrimp, mango, jalapeño, and avocado are all diced up to provide even distribution on a crunchy tostada. It's an exquisite bite every time. And there's a sweet sauce on it that makes the whole dish blend together so well. Carnitas Michoacán is a MUST visit if you're in the area. There's also a little market and carnicería next door that has some incredible food if you're making Mexican dishes at home, or if you just want some massive chicharrones.
