For some reason I seem to forget that this alternate location of Pike Place Chowder is here. I always think of the one in Post Alley at the Market. But now that I've been here it is my go-to location for this chowder. There is a very minimal queue and plenty of seating throughout the area so it's a great option as the Pike Place location always has a line snaking outside their front doors. Today I bought a large 32oz bag of frozen New England Style clam chowder to enjoy at home with the family. This chowder is one of the top 3-4 I have ever had (the others being Ivars, Duke's and Charleston St Cafe). I have tried the famous chowders in Boston and they don't hold a candle to the chowders made here in the PNW. Pike Place Chowder is tops for their variety and tastiness. Give this place a try and you won't be sorry. Yummy!

I have to say I absolutely love clam chowwwwder! I got the sampler that came with 4 of their soups and a side of sourdough bread. I was super full and had a tough time finishing this, perfect for sharing and having a taste of everything, and a MUST when in the area. Very limited seating, but I would just get this to go and sit by the pier to enjoy the views of the ferry boats, people-watching, and the city skyline (plenty of seating just a block away!). I enjoyed the Smoked Salmon and the New England Chowder the most.

Hubs and I had the Connecticut lobster roll with chowder and it was great. The toast was buttery, claim chowder was pretty good a little salty but I enjoyed it, lobster tasted really good, and the staff was very friendly. Such a chill spot and I loved how many options they had for chowder and sandwiches. It's definitely not a cheap eat but it tasted good.

This lobster roll is absolute perfection. The brioche bun is buttery and crisp, the lobster they give you is a decent amount and good ration compared to the bun. Both the dungeness crab roll and lobster crab roll are excellent. The inside is small and there is little seating but they also have some seating on the outside. The staff is nice and they have people on the outside of the restaurant to help manage the long lines. They also offer an order online option that is extremely fast. Out order was ready within 5 min. This is definitely a must try in Seattle

Every time I'm in Seattle, I make sure to stop by Pike Place Chowder for happy hour (4:00-6:00 PM daily) at Pacific Place Center. My 'must-order' is the Chowder Fries. They are essentially nacho fries, but smothered in thick clam chowder instead of cheese. It works surprisingly well--the combination is creamy, gooey, and crispy, with a fantastic mouthfeel. Although the portions seem to have gotten a bit smaller since my last visit, they are still an essential order if you're in the area.

This mall is a bit odd--perhaps malls are out of style but Pike Place Chowder was prominently featured next to the DTF next door. Holy cow, the lobster rolls are crazy expensive and I recommend the 1/4lb instead of the 1/2lb, since the roll isn't any larger for the 1/2lb. The chowder sampler was the right choice, however, because the flavors were fantastic! We didn't have to commit to one large serving but got to enjoy many bites of different kinds. The lobster roll was good but not great--I would have appreciated a larger roll. The bread was delicious. The service was nice--our cashier helpfully explained the menu for us first timers and introduced us to many of the different flavors and offerings, which I really appreciated. The seating is at food court style tables that are reserved for the restaurant.

Great clam chowder and other soups to try! Heads up, the line can be very long. Highly recommend ordering online since it would be a lot faster to get your meal. I had their seafood bisque (tomato soup) and it was pretty good! The soup was flavorful and savory. It came with a slice of bread. I wished the bread was more easy to rip/chew. But the bread and soup definitely went nicely together. They have a four sampler option if you want to try multiple soups for a good deal. The service was good. Staff were nice and the soup was quick to be prepared since they already had it made. The ambiance was okay. Inside is a bit small and seating is limited and can be packed. There's also seating outside.

Good spot for chowder, but way too salty for my taste. Ambience (4/5): Bustling market location with lots of energy, though seating is limited. Food (3/5): Chowder is hearty and creamy, but the salt level overwhelms the flavor. Value (3/5): Portions are fair for the price, but not worth it if you can't finish due to saltiness. Service (4/5): Friendly staff keep things moving quickly despite long lines.

While in Seattle, I feel you should eat seafood. This place is snuggled in an alley in Pike Place Market. The lobster roll here is pretty good. Be prepared as they are not cheap but that's usually how it is when lobster rolls are included. I did not try to clam chowder but this is a very popular place for it.

We stopped at this location in the mall and it was terrific! They also have another location outside the mall. The chowder was great and full of meat. The lobster roll was also super fresh and full of flavor. If you're looking for some tasty seafood and the go, this is a great option.

I am not going to lie, I was in a super not good mood when my husband made me walk here from our hotel 1.5 miles away... lol. A friend had told us to go here so he was determined. We ordered the chowder sampler on the online system, waited about 15 mins and took it to go. The line was stupid long so I'm glad we did it this way. I am a chowder fan but I only liked 2 of the 4. I'm sure I'm a rarity but it wasn't my favorite chowder place. They did take care of us quickly though and my husband was a fan of 3 out of 4.

The line at their original Pike Place Market was insane even on a weekday so I made the short trek to the Pacific Place mall location to get my chowder fix. It was definitely worth the 10-minute walk to avoid the 30-minute wait at Pike Place Market. I got the chowder sampler and they were all so delicious that I couldn't decide which was best. Next time I eat here, I'll just have to get the sampler again.

If you can make it past the sketchy vibe from some of the transients inside Pacific Place, this location of Pike Place Chowder is a hidden gem. Unlike the original spot in Pike Place Market, there was no line when I went--and the quality was just as good. I ordered a bowl of half-and-half New England and Manhattan clam chowder and a lobster roll. The chowder was excellent--rich, hearty, and flavorful. Definitely lived up to the hype. The lobster roll, though, was underwhelming. It needed more butter and way less Old Bay--it kind of overwhelmed the natural flavor of the lobster. Overall, a great alternative if you want to skip the crowds and still enjoy solid chowder.

Greetings at the door were kind of awkward can't explain how or why, it just was lol. Since it was just myself, I opted to sit at the bar. Found seating at the oyster bar. Was greeted pretty quickly by Brandon. Service from waitstaff was kind of on the slower side (I had to grab my own menus since some time had passed... not sure if this was supposed to be handed to me at the front or not), it also took a bit to get my order and tab. But once i ordered the food came out pretty quickly (just got oysters, a beer, and chowder). But my waiter was def super friendly! Could've just been an off night. I think the saving grace here for my experience was Brandon! Glad I opted to sit at the oyster bar. This was my first time into Seattle, therefore first time visiting Elliot's. Appreciated the tidbits of knowledge he dropped regarding the oysters - honestly made me appreciate it more! Had him pick 6 different ones since I didn't have any context of the different species of oysters. Chatting with Brandon also felt like catchin up with an old friend. The oysters were delish! Super fresh and my favorite was the shigoku. The amount of oyster choices they had were overwhelming, in a good way! The spicy crab and corn chowder was also bomb, which was also recommended by Brandon as I was originally just going to try the classic/regular one. Id totally come back here again next time in town.

Get it. It was so delicious. Then came the crab Benedict. The side salad alone was worth writing home about -- big, buttery, peppery leaves draped in one of those feather-light vinaigrettes that sounds simple until you try to replicate it at home and realize you can't. But the real star of the entire plate was the potatoes. Crispy outside, genuinely fluffy inside, seasoned with conviction. A masterpiece is not too strong a word. Closed with a glass of pink wine. Was eyeing the bottle with the piglet on the label, but it was bottle-only -- a distinction I find increasingly arbitrary as a former server and bartender. One day that policy will be a relic. We soon put our appetizer orders in, as well as our entrees. The calamari tasted fresh and crispy, what's not to like? The oysters I was recommended, tasted sooo fresh! The smoked salmon deviled egg was something I've never thought would work, but it tasted amazing. You can never go wrong with fish and chips, which tasted great! Our server was so sweet and was very attentive throughout the whole night. Dessert time came around and Trey recommended this Washington berry pie, we were sold! It came out deliciously warm with some ice cream on top, which was the cherry on top for our night!! Can't say enough great things about this restaurant, great staff, solid menu, we will definitely be back!!

Duke's is, well... Duke's…read more It is a bit of a formulaic small chain of restaurants that offer a waterside view and a seafood heavy menu. The food is good, but not something that will bring you back over and over again. The service on the other hand is incredibly good. Kind, thoughtful and incredibly authentic. We took my mother - a person who lives with disabilities and requires a mobility scooter. The staff went out of their way to help her feel comfortable and well taken care of. In my book - the staff of Duke's of south Lake Union are a solid 5 stars rating. And, the food is a 3'ish rating. Put together- it's a place that is worth visiting if for nothing else than the amazing staff. Oh, and the view on Lake Union is also really great, especially if you can grab a table near one of the patio heaters.
