Words cannot do Ludi's justice. Just go. The happiest atmosphere. The best food. The best vibes. Friendliest service. Expect the line. Embrace the line. It will be worth it.

I had Ludi's restaurant bookmarked for a while because I kept hearing great things about their Filipino food, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The restaurant itself has a warm atmosphere. They're opened for breakfast and lunch only, and they serve all-dat breakfast which gives you different options. I was hoping to try the ube pancakes, but I found out that they're only available from Friday - Sunday. So, I ordered the combo-silog from the rice is life section. It comes with one pork chop, one longanisa, one lumpia, two eggs, and garlic rice. Everything was flavorful, cooked well, and filling. It was a great way to sample several Filipino favorites on one plate. One thing to note is that you order and pay upfront before being seated, which I assume helps with service and prevent dine and dashers. Overall, I had a great experience and can see why Ludi's has such rave reviews.

This place was at the top of my eating list for Seattle. Numerous visits to Pike Place & there was always a line. When we got there, there was a line but we really didn't wait too long. We really wanted ube pancakes, but unfortunately its only on weekends. You order at the counter, I got the Ilocos Silog which came with longanisa sausage, garlic fried rice, & eggs, with tomatoes & vinegar on the side. Ohhh my savory taste buds were so excited. Poured the tomato & vinegar on the rice, ooo the perfect combo with that garlic rice. Funny enough, my Filipino boyfriend got pancakes, bacon, & eggs. Pancakes were good as well, but we really wanted to come back on the weekend. Sooo good, go check them out. It's worth the wait. We'll be back!

My friend took me here when I was visiting Seattle, and I left with a Ube pancake magnet. Their ube pancakes are to die for!! The restaurant is family owned, and it felt very loved and lived in. I could see all the love that went into making this restaurant and I can see why it is such a loved spot. There's so many people waiting to come in and eat at this spot. I waited in line for almost an hour, and I usually don't like to wait for my food, but this place is worth it. Their service was perfect and they made sure to check in on us. When you walk in, you order and then you are placed at a table. Shortly after you do get your food and I didn't wait too long for my meal. To be honest, I'm writing this review late. It's been a few months, but I'm still dreaming about that Ube pancake. Since it's brunch time, it was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon, but it was lively and heartwarming to be amongst people that were enjoying the food and the environment. I can't wait to go back as I stare at my magnet from California!

All I can say is wow! One of the best restaurants in Seattle for sure. Now I am going to tell you a few secrets about eating here. 1. If you want to skip the lines order online and eat with a view of the water 2. Online it says you can't order the ube pancakes but you can if you put in the notes you want them.

We love really good Filipino food. Some places disappoint, but this place definitely did not. You can tell by the long line. We would definitely come back!! The line was long, but once inside, we were ready to order. Ambiance is definitely casual. Customer service is great. I'm VERY picky about my ube. I was SO HAPPY that the ube pancake did not disappoint. We were so full!! I'm glad that we shared the pancake. The breakfast was so yummy!! The garlic rice was a little disappointing though. Not enough garlic. We definitely brought our leftovers back to our Airbnb. The owner was very nice!! He even gave us a free dessert!!

We were super excited to try Ludi's after hearing rave reviews and woke up super early on a Saturday morning. The line moved pretty fast and we got a table in 30 mins. The ambience is very eclectic with tons of photos and decor. I would say, the ambience definitely has a unique character. We found it strange that we had to place an order for the food and pay for the food even before sitting down at the table. Once we ordered, the food arrives relatively quickly. Overall, the food was average. We ordered veggie silog, beef silog, chicken and ube pancakes. The eggs we got were undersalted and the proportion of rice was way more than the lumpia and meat. The Ube panacakes however were amazing! They were creamy and drenched in the delicious Ube sauce. Overall, I would just be back for the pancakes.

I came to Ludi's for breakfast to see what all the hype was about and why there's always such a long line. I'd heard it was Filipino breakfast food, so I decided to go on a weekday after a staff member mentioned there's no wait then. To be safe, I placed my order online ahead of time. That turned out to be a smart move -- when I arrived, the place was packed and there were still two people in line. This is at 7:30am :| I ordered the Combo Silog to try a variety of things. I couldn't find the highly recommended ube pancake on the weekday menu. I later learned that it's only available on weekends, so I'll definitely have to come back for that. The combo came with a pork chop, two eggs cooked to your choice, two types of sausage, a silog with beef filling, and garlic rice. I also added a side of fried chicken. The pork chop and fried chicken were the highlights for me -- both had a thin, crispy batter that tasted great. I ordered my eggs over easy, and they were cooked perfectly: soft, but not too runny. The rest of the plate was solid, though nothing else especially stood out. I did wish substitutions were allowed, but the menu makes it clear they aren't. Overall, Ludi's definitely knows how to cook. The food feels like a tasty fusion of Asian and American breakfast comfort food, and it's hearty enough to keep you full for hours. I ended up skipping lunch. I'd absolutely recommend it, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try the ube pancake.

Ludi's will forever be a go-to spot for not just their delicously home-cooked Filipino dishes, but for the cultural warmth we feel from the staff and environment. Every week, this restaraunt gains traction from new and returning customers, including my friend and I! So, if you want to avoid waiting in the long line to try this spot out, make sure you get there early! - *Lechon Kawali ($24.00) *Loco Moco ($22.00) *Ube Pancake Solo ($11.00) *Lilikoi Iced Tea ($4.00) - If you have not tried Filipino food before, the dishes typically have a vinegary essence to them, in which the rice provides a balance. The dishes are large and worth the money, and the owner of the restaurant (unko) enjoys having conversations with all who stop by to his home, greeting and treating everyone like a big family.

We came on the weekend specially for the ube pancake, which is only available on weekends. We ended up waiting about 45 mins just to place our place. The process here is a little different: once a table opens up, they let you order and pay at the entrance before seating you. After ordering, it took about another 10mins for our food to arrive (that's quick already). Ube Pancake - I like that you can order either a full stack or just s single pancake. The presentation was beautiful, and the pancake itself was fluffy and delicious Oxtail Silog - This wasn't on the regular menu but was listed as today's special. It ended up being the highlight of our visit. It comes with two eggs and garlic rice. Incredibly tender! Combo Silog - This gives you a little bit of everything. The pork chop had good flavor but was unfortunately a bit dry. The longanisa and llocos longanisa were both savory and garlicky. My favorite was the lumpia on the plate. Also comes with two eggs and garlic rice. Butter Mochi - It wasn't bad, but I think something may have gone wrong with this batch because it was super mushy. Either underbaked, too much liquid, or the ratio tot the flour was just isn't right. Overall, the food was very good but not phenomenal enough for me to wait over an hour again. A smarter option would be to call ahead, place a takeout order, and enjoy it by the waterfront.

I wanted to know what all the hype was about these "Ube paneckes" I'm not a big fan of ube. (Apparently this trip has made me one!) You can only get the Friday, sat and sun! So we were the first ones there! It was a windy day so the owners dad (the one who started it all) invited us in. He is adorable!! The nicest, he comes over and checks on you the entire time you are there. You pay when you arrive, they seat you and your food comes out pretty fast. We got the ube pancakes and first bite was OMG!!! Totally worth the hype! I wish I old take them home! So good! Worth waiting in the long line for. It's a fun experience. It's a fun family vibe and clean, such a cute place.

The oh so iconic Ludi's right on Pike. I was so excited for this meal as a huge fan of Filipino food. Even though I wanted to try their classic Ube pancakes, I did not have the willpower to wake up early enough on a weekend to make it happen but I still had an amazing time. We got seated very quickly and all the staff were amazing. They were so attentive and kind. They really make you feel taken care of and at home. The interior design was also very homey with a lot of knicknacks and memorabilia adorning the place. For food, we ordered the pork adobo and lechon porridge specials. Both were out of this world. The pork was cooked perfectly and was so tender and fell apart in your mouth. The sauce was vinegary and sour just as I like it and the garlic rice paired perfectly with it. The lechon was also cooked to perfection with a nice crisp and soft chewy inside. The porridge was so warm and comforting on a cold seattle morning. One of my favorite meals of the trip and I will definitely be coming back for the ube pancakes.

We had a smooth, chill, and delicious experience for our first time here. I'd had this on my list for the longest time but wanted to avoid the lines. We decided to head over here at 8 am on a Sunday, and there was STILL a line. Thankfully, the wait for us that early morning was only about 15 mins, but upon our walk out after eating, we noticed the line was nearly halfway down the block. Some people must have waited closer to an hour. Maybe show up as early as you can in the morning if you don't want to wait too long. We ordered the Corned Beef Silog, Combo Silog, and the Ube Pancake stack. The stack might look like a little, but even sharing it, we got really full. Those pancakes are DELICIOUS. Just make sure not to run out of the Ube syrup, or the pancakes themselves will be a little dry. We made that mistake, but the pancakes alone were still tasty. Highly recommend if you like taro-ish flavor or want something sweet. The food overall was delicious, it was about my second time trying lumpia and omg sooo good. One of the servers was kind enough to explain to us which part of the Philippines each of the sausages in the combo plate originates from. One was from the Northern part of the Philippines (think it's the Ilocos sausage, reddish color) and the other one was the classic longanisa. I got a calamansi juice and ommmgggg sooo delicious, I had never had it before, and now I've gotta figure out how to buy some to enjoy at home. The servers were all friendly and attentive, and the place itself was clean and inviting, with lots of nods to Filipino culture and the family that runs the restaurant. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good-quality, hearty Filipino breakfast. Depending on what you get, be prepared for a food coma afterward!

Ludi's Restaurant & Lounge Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Ludi's Restaurant & Lounge

    Are there vegan options?

No. Ludi’s is an authentic Filipino outpost and has little to nothing vegan wise other than beverages. One of our best old school breakfast spots but decidedly unfriendly vegan wise. As even the Ube pancakes are both made w egg and dairy. So be…

Do they take reservations? Or is it walk ins only?

No reservations taken and get there early. Ludi's is very popular and fills up fast open daily 7am to 3pm.

    Is there parking nearby?

Your best bet is to use the vertical parking lot on 3rd one block from Ludi's. The parking used to be associated with Macy's or the Bon Marche depending on how long you've been in Seattle. But that's your best bet by a mile! Safe and reasonable…

Is this restaurant open on Sundays now?

The last time we went was on a Sunday so I'm going to say yes they are open on Sundays.

As walk-in guests, we waited several minutes before being offered bar seating, despite the bar appearing to have open seats from the start. Once seated, service felt a bit distant, and with a mandatory 22% service charge already included, I naturally expected a more attentive level of hospitality. Having worked in restaurants myself, I understand how busy things can be. The meal itself was wonderful, but I hope the FOH experience becomes as polished as the kitchen. If bar seating is available for walk-ins, I think offering it earlier would make for a much smoother first impression. We walked in, explained that we were a walk-in party of two, waited while availability was checked twice, were told there wasn't a table available, and that next table wouldn't be available until 8:30 p.m. only afterward were offered seats at an open bar. Had the bar been presented as an option from the beginning, our arrival would have felt much more welcoming.

I really liked the fried chicken dish and the kari Kari. The breading of the chicken was super crunchy and the kiki gravy was a nice add to the dish but mind you it was a very filling dish. The Kari Kari was very tender and a bit hard on the edges that almost resembled the texture of beef jerky. The shrimp paste and peanut sauce combination was also delicious and umami. We also ordered the pork belly arugula salad and liked it. Since we ordered so much meat we wanted a dish that balanced out, hence we got the fish that was cooked well and sauce was tangy and refreshing. The fish dish was the least impressive though. The ambiance was perfect for a date! Nothing too formal yet it was intimate and fun. Musang you're great!

Perfect timing if you want to beat the rush and take a look around before it fills up. The restaurant is located in Beacon Hill, right next to the Beacon Hill light rail station, which is super convenient if you're coming from downtown or the airport. No dedicated parking lot, so you're looking at street parking. The setup is counter service. You order and pay up front, then find a seat, and they bring the food out to you. It's a nice hybrid of quick-service convenience with the personal touch of table delivery. Just remember to bus your own table when you're done. They've also got a station set up for washing your hands and mixing your own dipping sauce, which I thought was a really thoughtful touch (if you grew up with Filipino food, you know). I went heavy on the sinamak (spiced vinegar). Seating is flexible. Counter seats if you're solo or just grabbing something quick, and regular tables that can accommodate four or more if you've got a bigger group. We ordered the bangus-silog, island combo, and cassava cake. Bangus-silog:Came with garlic rice, two eggs, and milkfish, and it hit exactly the way silog should. Yolks were slightly runny, rice had that good garlicky flavor, and the bangus was perfectly fried with head and tail. Island combo: Came with two lumpia, two inihaw ribs, pancit, white rice, two longanisa, and two butterfly shrimp. Great way to sample a bunch of things in one go if you can't decide. The lumpia was crispy and had a good amount of filling. The ribs were tender and had a nice char. The pancit had good noodle texture, and the longanisa had that slightly sweet, garlicky flavor you want. Nothing special about the butterfly shrimp. Also don't skip the baked goods section near the register. It's definitely worth a look on your way out. We tried a slice of cassava cake for dessert. Dense and not overly sweet. Good way to end the meal. Staff at the register were friendly and patient the whole time. They answered any questions about the menu. Overall, a solid and casual spot for Filipino comfort food. Will definitely be back. Kain tayo!

Our office gets a list of the weekly offerings on Monday, so when I heard that later in the week there would be Salu-Salo Filipino Kitchen, bringing Filipino food, I most definitely made lunch plans. I was coming in from a meeting in Fremont, so didn't go to the pop-up/Salu-Salo Filipino Kitchen as soon as it started service (around 11am). With that said, I nearly missed out on the chicken adobo! I took the last of the chicken adobo an hour and a half after the lunch service started, so was counting my blessings! I ordered the lunch plate, which came with chicken adobo, pancit, rice and pickled veggies. My lunch plate was solid. Chicken adobo was tender and really, really liked how vinegar-y the flavor was, which, any Filipino would tell you that all food tastes better with vinegar! Pancit wasn't bad, but not the best. Some of the noodles were on the dry side, but I did like the cabbage and green onion throughout. Pickled veggies were a nice addition, adding more sour flavor to the overall entree. For someone who hardly ever has Filipino food and desperately misses mom's cooking, I was just happy to have Salu-Salo bring some adobo to the area. I would definitely recommend checking out Salu-Salo if you ever see their stand around. They don't update their social media channels, unfortunately, so is a little difficult to find where their stand will be. And when I asked if they participate in any markets, they do not. But the owners did mention that they visit downtown Seattle often at other office buildings around. Therefore, I have a feeling I'll be seeing them soon and getting my Filipino cuisine on. Not overwhelmingly sweet, and perfect for sharing, these are a treat. For those with dietary restrictions, Salu-Salo is a great option because there are plenty choices. As someone who is gluten free, all of the main dishes are fair game. This is often very rare when dining out for me!! Here's to Salu-Salo for exposing Seattleites to what Filipino food is all about. Rosario's cuisine feels like a healthy take on comfort food. Each dish bursting with flavor, yet still accessible to all ages. The idea behind comfort food is all about the thought that goes into the prep. After tasting Salu-Salo's food, I promise you can tell a lot of care goes into the preparation of each dish. I am looking forward to this becoming a Seattle institution, and hope it inspires more Filipino cuisine to start popping up in the PNW.

It's weird but so good. - 8pcs Chicken half spicy: 4.7/5 it was really good. The half spicy was really good, not spicy to me but that's not unusual. Got hot sauce in the side and it was really tasty! - Mochi Cake: 10/5 so freaking good! Service was fantastic and the inside is really cute. Small but welcoming. TL:DR: Is it cheap? No. But it's a gluten free fried chicken that is actually good, the sides are bomb, and the price for the value is there.

Kaboom! Best fried chicken I've ever seen or eaten. Yes, one look at all the pieces (ordered the…read more8pc) and you can see beauty in its creation and attention to detail. Got the half spicy half normal and dusting of spice was perfect. The fact that this is gluten free (which is fantastic for all GF folks in our family) is even more Amazing how they got everything right with the crunch and flavor. Potato skins and garlic rice were good too, though less garlic would have been better. Could easily make this into a garlic egg fried rice and larger portions. The staff were super attentive and took time to explain everything to first time visitors. Steady stream of take out orders as seating is limited. Would come back to try the other sides too. Happy to report no reaction for gluten free member of our family, top marks for safety.
