Wanted a breakfast burrito because the place is so close to the hotel. I'm staying at. Very clean inside and the owner was very happy to see me & very gracious and very nice. Ordered the burrito I took it back to my hotel room. Soon realized that the egg is premade and the cheese is just all thrown together in the burrito and then microwaved. The tomatoes were fresh just didn't think it was the true traditional type burrito I was looking for ,but definitely edible. Just wouldn't get it again. Might be interested in trying the teriyaki bowls for lunch perhaps ? But overall, a good experience. read more

Wonderful mom and pop shop. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and the price was incredibly reasonable for the amount of food you get. The tomatoes shone through and were fresh, the cheese with eggs was deliciously griddled, and it seems like the place where they do the basics well. Reminds me a lot of NYC / Philly bodegas where I came from. A gem in the downtown area, and seems really popular with people who work in the neighborhood - for good reason. A fairly hidden gem located in the basement of this corporate building, the original deli is a great family ran deli that serves up poke and teriyaki bowls. Food tastes fresh and tasty and comes out quick. Great for a quick lunch during the work day. They have seating but also easy to takeaway. I searched yelp for a breakfast place while visiting Seattle. This place sounded great. However, it was a bit hard to find. We actually ended up in the wrong restaurant. We went into the building it is located in and asked the guard. You have to take the elevator down to AB and go down the hallway to the right. My husband ordered a croissant sandwich, and I ordered a bagel sandwich. Both were good and very filling. They are very generous with their meat. In fact, we had to take some meat out. I've been traveling to Seattle for work for years, but a local coworker only recently recommended this spot to me. I've been walking past this place on my way to work for years and always saw their signs on the sidewalk without giving it much thought. That is, until recently, when I've been on a hunt for no-frills breakfast sandwiches downtown. Well, I'm happy to announce that my hunt is over. The Original Deli shines in three areas: 1) simple food, 2) great prices, and 3) extraordinary customer service. They have a small breakfast menu with classic items: bagels, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, etc. Don't expect Michelin-starred food here: this is simple, tasty, good fuel for the day. They also have other items like poke and bulgogi bowls, which I'll have to try at some point. And with the way food prices are in Seattle right now, everything is really a steal! Last but not least, the business owners here are just the most wonderful people. The woman at the cashier was so incredibly nice and after giving me my food, kept thanking me while emphatically waving both hands goodbye as I left. I definitely will be back. read more

So much love for this place! The folks who run this place are so sweet and kind. The place is in a bit of an alley so it's slightly tricky to find, but worth the trip! I ordered the bulgogi which was delicious. The bulgogi was cooked amazingly - a bit sweet and salty but it paired really well with the rice. The rice was really tasty as well and perfectly chewy and soft, and fresh too. The staff was quick and had my order ready within minutes. This place have been on my list for a while now but given the limited hours and I'm not in Seattle, it's hard to try this place haha This place is soooooo off the main area of downtown. You literally have to walk in an alley way to get here. There is a small sign to direct you but it's not big or anything. I ordered takeout and the food was ready by the time I got there. The lady that was there was sooo nice and friendly. She acknowledged me, thanked me and made sure I had everything I needed. Also, she even wrote a 'thank you Huong's on my bag! :) Food wise: I got the teriyaki combo which come with a choice of meat (bulgogi for me) a small order of roll (crunchy roll for me) and a small salad. For $12, you definitely get your money worth. It was packed and heavy. The food was pretty good, fresh balanced. The bulgogi was a little on the sweet side for me but it went well with the rice. My friend got the salmon poke bowl ($12) and she must have like it cause she ate the whole thing without any complaints lol Overall, it's a mom and pop shop that if you're lucky enough to try, you wont be disappointed. This is not a sushi restaurant so if you want the whole shabang then you're at the wrong place. I ordered the salmon poke bowl with a few toppings and their house dressing. This hidden gem, I found in the ally way of downtown was my saving grace when I walked in. I was automatically greeted by this elderly Asian woman. And quite frankly, I trust any food spot with an old Asian woman behind that cashier. I got a Fat Breakfast burrito with EVERYthing on it. This is a go to spot if you can't pick breakfast or lunch. I love that the hot food selections were cheap and that there was no buddy in here. It was also really spacious. The Original Deli is not easy to find, because it's hidden in an alley in between the Steinway Piano store and a parking garage in downtown Seattle. Haven't been here for years since it was run by a very kind middle aged Korean gentleman. Now it's run by an older Korean couple. The interior is now very open and no longer like a cramped mini grocery. It's an OG mom & pop teriyaki, breakfast, etc. hole in the wall deli. The interior is old and dingy. Service is like a typical Korean mom with smiles and a warm spirit of hospitality that is uncommon these days. Even with Bidenflation, $15 will fill you up with a bulgogi bowl topped with 2 fried omelettes, Cali rolls & salad. Some might view the menu as limited, but what they do offer is generously portioned, competitively priced and delicious. I took off one star (they forgot to hold the onions as requested).
