At first I thought, meh this restaraunt is super mid... then i realized it's actually a deli and that's when it hit me, this is super dope deli. Sandwiches are delicious and massive. They aren't cheap or expensive so you pretty much get what you pay for which aint a bad thing. The interior is medium sized and kind of cramped with lots of people making moving around feel a bit hectic. The decor is nothing fancy, very pioneer square. Have walked by this shop dozens of times and finally stopped in. Got there around noon, and there wasn't a significant line, but Archie kindly pulled me over to another counter to take my order. Afterwards, he introduced me to condiment bar and underscored the suggested pairings. Great personality! My order was prepared quickly, and by 12:30 the place was packed. There is quite a bit of seating and baseball was playing on a couple of screens. The fries are interesting, reminiscent of fluffy mashed potatoes inside, with a crispy exterior. I didn't notice an Old Bay seasoning, but I don't know if that is standard or should be ordered specifically. The beef cheese steak (Tats way) is made with rib eye of a good quality. No fat, no gristle, and plenty of it. A generous portion of sautéed onions and peppers and a mixture of provolone and white American cheeses top the meat. Hot and melty. The bread does r get a bit soggy, and the filling spills out so make sure to grab a stack of napkins and a fork. I ordered an 8 inch sandwich and small order of fries, and it was a lot of food. Fantastic place in Pioneer Square conveniently located near the light rail station. The space is clean and has plenty of seating. You can dine in, take it to-go, or get delivery. The service is fast and friendly. This time got the tatstrami and it did not disappoint. The hoagie was packed full of tender pastrami with cheese, russian dressing, and sweet slaw. Finally got to try Tats after so many years of going and working in Seattle. We ordered the tatstrami and italian grinder, both were hot style sandwiches and they were piled high. We actually had to use a fork to eat cause the meat and veggies were spilling out everywhere and it was a hefty sandwich to try to hold and bite into.
