Really expensive. Really big. I'll get two meals out of it, but I still think it's a little expensive. Extremely tasty! First time I've had a grinder. It was good. Salty but to be expected with the meats in it. Lots of flavors mixed throughout. Loved the arugula on it! The focaccia was amazing! Super soft and fresh. I'm pretty sure it's made in house. I walked in around 11:30 AM, and it wasn't too busy. Service was fast and friendly. I also got a cookie. It was okay. I think their sandwiches are the star! I'd recommend!

After seeing a ton of pictures of their massive focaccia sandwiches, Hushys had been on my list for some time! I really wanted to try the mortadella sandwich but I'm allergic to nuts. The staff was a little disinterested when we asked for recommendations but we ended up getting the breakfast sandwich. It was a good amount of food and was not bad but the bread was a little soggy and the filling was too salty. It wasn't my favorite sandwich but I would want to go back to try others as I can see the potential! They also have a lot of indoor and some outdoor seating in a good location.

The sandwiches were incredibly flavorful and thoughtfully crafted. I ordered the Mortadella sandwich, served on freshly baked focaccia bread. It was generously filled with mortadella, creamy burrata, pesto, pistachios, and Italian sausage. Every ingredient complemented the others perfectly, creating a rich yet well-balanced bite. The sandwich was enormous--we ended up sharing it between my daughter and me, and we both left feeling completely satisfied. My son always orders the fried fish sandwich whenever he comes here. He let me have a bite, and I could immediately see why it's his favorite. The fish was incredibly fresh, with a perfectly crispy coating and tender, flaky meat inside. If this restaurant were in California, I'd definitely be a regular. It's one of those places that makes you rethink how good a sandwich can be.
Focaccia sandwiches are having a moment right now. Ever since I had one of Good Luck Bread's focaccia sandwiches, it's been on my mind. Similar to chocolate chip cookies, I cannot pass up a good focaccia sandwich. I visited Hushy's two days in a row. Both visits were fantastic! On the first visit, my friend and I shared the Milanese and the French Dip and on the 2nd visit, hubby and I shared the grinder, chowder and corn salad. I loved everything - because everything is tasty! The focaccia is crisp outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. They are baking focaccia throughout the day, so it's always fresh. The restaurant is quite spacious with plenty of seating indoors and outside. We noticed a long line had formed during the lunch hour.

Ordered the Grinder ($23) to go on a Thursday around 11am from very friendly staff. Very cozy wood interior inside, as well as outdoor seating. In the grinder, plenty of sandwich ingredients atop fresh focaccia. It had a vinegary pepper spread + aioli to complement the meat, cheese, arugula, and thinly sliced red onions. Lasted me 1.5 meals. My friend got the mortadella, which was simple but well-balanced w the pistachio/pesto/honey mixture slathered on top. Enjoyed this spot because the ingredients were top-notch, elevated by being combined with thoughtful and complementary sauces/spreads that tied the whole sandwich together. ~$20 is def a premium for a sandwich, but alas.

The focaccia was GAS, the meat was great and I think that the sandwiches being slightly warm made it even better. I got the Hushy's Grinder and the Milanese and they were both fire. The Grinder is a good lunch option and the Milanese is better for a dinner, but honestly can't go wrong. Would definitely visit again. Also the interior is quite spacious and is great for bigger groups to hang. It would be great for summertime activities in my opinion. Service is short and quick! It's a bus yourself situation so very casual, but definitely appreciate them answering questions about the size and opinions on the sandwiches they like too!

Between the two, I liked the milanese more as it had more flavor - I really like the kimchi slaw and the pork remained really juicy after being fried. The fish was good but a little thin in my opinion. I also didn't think the focaccia was thaat spectacular as I had expected coming in - it was thinner than I anticipated but the parts that were thicker and chewier I enjoyed.
got the mortadella it was very yummy the honey added a great pinch of sweetness!! i do wish there was more pesto though also they said 20 min wait but my sandwich came out much faster
sandwich was bomb (i had the turkey) the bread they used was soo good and everything was well balanced and so fresh tasting. while it is true that they give good portions i just can't justify paying $22 for a sandwich (no sides or anything) as a broke college student so this will unfortunately be a once in a while treat
Got takeout to try the sandwiches and wow they are HUGE!!! The sandwiches were very tasty and I'd definitely come back to try other varieties.

Amazing. Honestly one of the best dang sandwiches I've had in my life. Pricey as these sandwiches are fresh, quality ingredients, the focaccia bread is wonderful, and the sandwiches are huge! Vegetarian and pescatarian friendly as well. The staff are hard working and friendly. This place is busy but the wait isn't long. They offer both indoor and outdoor dining. You bus your own table but they bring the food out to you. Very modern, cozy, earthy, bougie atmosphere. I have ordered the turkey sandwich twice now as it's just that amazingly delicious. I order it with no remoulade as I'm picky and not a mayo fan so I order it with extra of the vinaigrette. Soooooo bombbbbb. The arugula, the turkey, just everything is so fresh and delectable. My mouth is watering writing this review. My man ordered the fried fish sandwich which I tried and wow....best fish sandwich we both have ever had. Soooo good. It was sold out my first visit here now I understand why it's so popular! I am so excited to return and try the French dip and mortadella in the future! sandwich was bomb (i had the turkey) the bread they used was soo good and everything was well balanced and so fresh tasting. while it is true that they give good portions i just can't justify paying $22 for a sandwich (no sides or anything) as a broke college student so this will unfortunately be a once in a while treat read more
I picked up sandwiches for my family for the game. I guess everyone else in town had the same idea though because they were out of just about everything. I haven't tried sandwiches from here before but the reviews were good, and as they had sold out of almost everything I figured they must be on point. Maybe the issue was that the remaining sandwiches were remaining for a reason, but we were not impressed with them at all. They had a vast bread to meat ratio discrepancy for starters, but we also found them to be more messy than mouth watering. If we had just gotten one kind of sandwich or if it was just me who didn't enjoy it I might have tempered my rating, but it was five different people sampling three different sandwiches and frankly none of us were impressed. They just were not wonderful on any level. I wish I could give specifics but the sandwiches just overwhelmed the tastebuds with ishyness. read more

Sandwiches are huge and delicious. Each sandwich is really the size of two sandwiches--the picture doesn't do it justice. Sandwiches are easily shareable. I got the fish sandwich, and my partner got the pork one. The fish was pretty small compared to the thick slices of pork, but everything was still tasty and well seasoned. We prefer this spot over Fortuna. Coffee is skippable tho. We'd like to return for happy hour, as it looks like you could get half sandwiches during that time. We came around noon on a Sunday and it was packed. Fortunately we were able to grab a table, but the folks after us were struggling to find an open spot. read more

I had the Grinder (top tier, fresh produce, real zing) and the Milanese - moist, tender breaded pork and weirdly helped by the kimchee - packing serious flavor that includes fish sauce afaict. My biggest and best surprise was the value. It is expensive-- but even as a huge great sammich glutton I found a half sandwich plus the excellent corn salad to be a full meal- so the math actually works. Bread was excellent, even next day- my only complaint is the opening hours which mean it's almost never a dinner option- even early dinner. Now I have to decide if Un Bien is too farlard, if Husky's is too early bird special, or if Paseo is on a mystery vacation. read more

Hushy's Sandwiches is easily making my list of best sandwiches in Seattle. I got the Mortadella and the Turkey sandwiches. I really loved the Mortadella especially because of the pistachio and burrata inside. Plus the focaccia bread it comes on is perfect. We also got the potato salad which was fine. Definitely plan for a bit of a line if you go on a weekend. We went at 2pm on a Saturday and waited around 20 to 30 minutes. read more

These are the kind of incredible sandwiches that are so stuffed with delicious ingredients that they will be gushing onto your hands by the end of the meal. Hushy's makes my favorite mortadella in two forms -- a traditional sandwich featuring a delicious blend of pesto and honey, as well as the best breakfast sandwich stuffed with a large, fluffy omelette. Both are amazing with a globule of creamy burrata (sub this onto the breakfast sandwich per request). For an awesome vegan choice, get the roasted carrots with added tofu turkey. Add that silky, smoked tofu turkey to any of the sandwiches, really. I love coming here for a late breakfast to kickstart my day, or bringing my laptop for a couple hours of work and a sandwich. The generous open hours, spacious dining area, and free WiFi make this an easy and tempting option every day of the week. read more

Stop by at 11:30 for lunch. There is an area right outside the restaurant to lock up your bike. It is only a block away from the Burke-Gilman Trail. There is a lot of street parking nearby for free, but it can be hard to get a spot. Staff were super friendly. I stopped by for the Seattle restaurant week 20$ lunch special. I love the turkey pesto sandwich. The bread was super fresh and there was such a complex combination of flavors. And I couldn't believe this size was only half a sandwich. I sat outside but there was also a lot of indoor seating. Restaurant seemed very clean. I received my order very promptly. I also got a really good-sized piece of carrot cake to go. Would totally come back to try another sandwich. Perfect place to stop by if you're on the Burke. read more
cool sandwich spot in Fremont off of Stone Way. It is counter service and they will deliver your sandwich to you once they are ready. the sandwiches are quite large - I usually will only eat half and then take half to go, so that justifies the price for me. You could also easily split one with someone and still feel full. I personally ordered the turkey and loved it. The bread is made in house and has lots of flaky sea salt on it, which I didn't mind but it might be on the saltier side for some. I also highly recommend getting a side of their salt and vinegar chips because they are some of the best salt&vin chips I've had. Their brown butter chocolate chip cookie was also really yummy. Four of us stopped by Hushy's Sandwiches for a quick snack before dinner because our Seattle local friend hyped it up -- and she usually thinks most Seattle food is mid. The sandwiches are on the pricier side, about $20 per sandwich, but you can definitely split it into two (small) meals. MORTADELLA - 22 Even splitting it into four mini sandwiches, we got to enjoy several bites of the sandwich. The mortadella came with burrata, pesto, pistachio, and honey. The pistachio made it special since it went well with the three other ingredients and provided a nutty crunch. The focaccia bread was top tier and fresh. Overall, this had to be one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. I would highly recommend it. The interior is nice with a good amount of seating. They close a bit early at 6 PM, so you can only snag the sandwiches here if you do an early dinner. read more

WOW. This place did not disappoint! Reminded me so much of the schiachatta (spelling) sandwiches that we had in Florence, Italy. We had the turkey and mortadella and both were so DELICIOUS! The young woman who helped us at the counter was super friendly and made some great suggestions. Vibe inside was cozy and warm. Both sandwiches were so flavorful but so different each. Loved them both, I preferred the turkey my husband preferred the mortadella. But both so friggin good! Bonus, we got a chocolate chip cookie. Loved that it wasn't super sweet and we also got the carrot cake which wasn't also overly sweet. Go here! We've heard good things about this place and decided to check it out this Sunday afternoon. Looked super expensive but we went with it. The servings were huuuge, super filling and balanced. Taste was great. I usually feel bummed when i resort to salads as a gluten-free person, but the Italian was so hearty and tasty that I didn't care in that moment :) My guy loved his sandwich, too. Hopefully they can figure out a gf sub in the future. The one thing I'll note is that my little kombucha can cost $9, and I didn't know that until checkout. I almost asked the person at the menu to take it off the bill but was too embarrassed. It was good (and locally-made!), but I still wish I'd had a warning before committing, haha. I stopped by on a Sunday at around 3:30pm. Street parking was easy nearby and staff were friendly. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The large windows allowed for plenty of natural light, and some people even had laptops to get some work done. They were sold out of some sandwiches at that time, but there were still plenty of options available. FYI you can substitute sliced smokey tofu for any of the meat in their sandwiches. I was curious to try it, so I substituted it for the meat in the turkey sandwich. It came on focaccia bread with pickled pepper remoulade, provolone, red onion, basil, arugula, oregano vinaigrette. The presentation was great and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous size of the sandwich! The tofu was also tasty. The bread was good. However, the experience was a bit messy with ingredients falling out. I thought there was a bit too much dressing for my preference. Overall it was a good sandwich. I also ordered their salt & vinegar potato chips. The chips were okay but I would have preferred a bit more of a vinegar taste. Finally, I tried their brown butter chocolate chip cookie. It was served on a plate that was a little wet, but fortunately the cookie wasn't affected. I thought the outer portion of the cookie was delicious. As I made my way to the center, it did taste a little too salty, so perhaps they can consider reducing the salt or evenly distributing it throughout the entire cookie. If you're in the area, this is a good option to try for lunch. Try to come earlier in the day before anything sells out. read more

I was surprised by how large the space is. There is plenty of seating and a very cozy design. It's a great place for lunch or to stay and study or work. I tried their mortadella sandwich and marinated mushrooms. The sandwich was amazing; the combination of focaccia bread, Italian sausage, burrata, pesto, pistachio, and honey was perfect. I enjoyed every bite. I'm not a huge fan of the marinated mushrooms as the vinegar taste was too strong for me but the dish came with a variety of mushrooms and my friend enjoyed it. I would definitely come back to try their other sandwiches! read more
Hushy's is my new favorite focaccia sandwich shop in Seattle! I feel like they really understand how to play with ingredients to put on their focaccia that might initially sound funky but it totally works! Such as adding honey on their popular Mortadella sandwich. It actually made sense and tasted sooo good! I can't wait to keep going back and trying more of their creations. read more
update: I came back with some friends visiting town and we got the roast beef and the special puri puri chips. roast beef was good but the flavors weren't anything new or special. I wouldn't choose it over the mortadella which is still my favorite. my friends got the mortadella and loved it we got the puri puri chips which maintained a great potato flavor but sadly they were wayyy too salty. read more
I was trying to think of where this place kind of reminded me of and it's the viral focaccia place from Italy that has spread from NYC to Vegas and LA (All'Antico Vinaio)-I've been to the one in Vegas. It's a similar concept but done by the owners of Purple as they've rebranded from Livbud (which IMO didn't have a coherent concept). I really like the space as its very big, maybe too big but has indoor and outdoor seating. So basically every sandwich has focaccia, but the focaccia isn't like soft and pillowy, but more crunchy/crispy-well at least the one I got. I ordered the Milano pork sandwich ($20). I thought it would have a super thin pork cutlet (Italian style), but it was sliced up Japanese style pork katsu. I think it would work better which a super thin cutlet like at an Italian deli. A tuna sandwich was like $23, which I considered but it was way too expensive. There is a sign that says soft service is coming soon, but if it costs more than $8 it'll be way too much. Another expensive item I saw was the A'Siciliana Aranciata (Italian orange soda) at $8, which I compared to the price at the viral focaccia place and it's only $4 there. I think the concept is more coherent now, but the prices are on the higher end-more of a 3 star, but since it's new I'll be nice. I'll try it again when the soft serve machine is on if it's not expensive. read more
Hushy's is a huge, well-lit modern restaurant with plenty of seating that serves trendy focaccia-based sandwiches, joining in on the craze in Seattle over the last year. The interior gives off more of a wine bar or modern cafe vibe than sandwich shop, complete with an open concept kitchen, albeit set away from the tables. There's even a section of couches to hang out at in the back, making this restaurant a nice option to relax or work. I saw plenty of people with laptops out over my two visits. Sandwiches are made to order and take about 20 minutes to come out. Japanese Curry Beef ($21) - This is a huge sandwich, at least coming from a carbohydrate perspective. It includes an entire half round of focaccia, one that's almost 9 inches in diameter and 2 or 3 inches in height. That's a lot of bread! The fillings are top quality. There's the exquisitely tender pulled beef, braised in a brilliant savory curry-spiced sauce. It's brimming with savory indulgence and packs a powerful curry infused punch. Unlike Japanese curry, which uses a combination of earthy spices to achieve the sweet flavor, Hushy's seems to lean more heavily on the curry powder itself, not that it's a bad thing! On top of the beef, there's shredded daikon in a slaw, dressed in a ginger-kewpie mayo. It adds crisp to the sandwich on top of the more tender meat. The flavor is creamy, kind of mustardy and eggy. The ginger element isn't very strong at all, so it's a complimentary flavor rather than one that overpowers the rest of the dressing as I've seen other places do. There are two downsides to the sandwich. Firstly, since the slaw is finely chopped and the beef is fall apart tender, the ingredients fall out rather easily while eating, requiring mop up with a spoon afterwards. Secondly, everything is way too heavily salted for my tastes. It literally required me to take multiple trips to refill my glass of water. And that was with me only eating one half of the sandwich. (4/5) I revisited a couple of weeks later to try another sandwich: Pork Milanesa ($21) - Once again, this sandwich is gigantic. Easily enough for two meals. The best part is the bread. Perfectly light and chewy with an oily and lightly crisp bite - if Hushy's sold the focaccia by itself, I'd buy it for sure. The sandwich as a whole has a funky flavor like that of kimchi, blended with a lightly nutty sesame oil. In addition to the bread being slathered with this creamy, slightly sweet and warm kewpie-based mixture, it's also mixed into the cabbage slaw below, creating a consistently flavorful bite. The pork is lightly battered into an almost smooth surface, missing the crags and peaks that would better amplify the crunch factor. As such, the fried crunch is a little lacking, and it's further deteriorated by the amount creamy sauce soaking in on both sides. The pork is fried until well done, so a little chewy and dry, but there's more than enough moisture from the sauce to make up for that, in addition to some fatty cap on one side. For some reason they slice the fried pork into pieces - this is a detriment to sandwich integrity in my opinion. In addition to the chopped cabbage falling out all over the place while eating, pieces of pork also slide away, making the eating experience not the most fun. I wonder why they decide to slice the meat? The sandwich overall is again a little too heavy on the salt. It's not as bad as the curry beef, but it still required me to make multiple trips to the water tank. (4/5) I have some mixed feelings about Hushy's. The focaccia, that I assume they bake in house, is great and the overall ingredients are high quality. Unfortunately the sandwiches are too salty, which is a big negative for me. They are also really messy to eat due to construction. With that being said, the sandwiches are still good and I plan to make Hushy's part of my regular rotation given that it's within walking distance of my office. Giant delicious sandwiches. Good variety in their menu. The only subpar sandwich I have encountered was the Milanese, too much slaw sauce. Very large interior space for sitting. read more
