Love this place! Bought kielbasa, potato salad, reuben sandwich, and was even lucky enough to snag a paczki! The warmth of service here, down to the details in this deli, bring me back to the East coast when I'd visit Polish deli's and feel so authentically Polish American. Very popular during lunch hour too, especially for the sandwiches! The reuben is very rich and not bad, but is a crowd favorite. I highly recommend microwaving the paczki too. The exterior was nicely fried, and inside was fluffy but had settled a bit by the time I reached it. I absolutely loved the potato salad and kielbasa. While walking back from the Frye Museum, we stumbled upon this Polish-style deli. It was packed with people waiting outside so we decided to go and check it out. When you walk inside, you see all the deli meats and a ton of unique snacks, mainly imported from Europe. I enjoyed a nice sandwich from here. This place deserves 5 stars. My coworkers at the hospital told me to try this place because you can order ahead and pickup during your lunch break, but guess what? I never did. I've been missing out! I'm back home now and tried it while moving my friend into his downtown apartment. We were both amazed! Taste buds just bursted with flavors! We ordered the turkey sandwich (cold), chicken (warm), Rueben (warm), pastrami on rye (warm), sausage (warm) and all were incredible! I don't even think I could rank them because they were evenly delicious and you should do yourself a favor and try each one. My friends favorite is the pastrami. But get this. We ordered it for lunch and it was so good we ordered it for lunch again the next day. That should speak for itself. The service was decently quick, with us ordering ahead via DoorDash. Oh my goodness this is an absolute hidden gem. I just happened to walk by on my way to an appointment and decided to stop in for a deli sandwich. It was around 10:30am on a Friday morning so I didn't expect it to be too busy. But when I went inside, it's a rather small store, it was filled with people. The cashier was super nice and was explaining that it's an important Polish holiday where they have to make sandwiches so it would be extremely busy all day. I ordered a BLT, the reason I went in there, but also saw they made pierogis. It was so exciting I had to order some and it did not disappoint. I had the cheese and potato flavor. I will absolutely make it a necessity to come back here next time I'm in Seattle! Even eating the BLT, it was one of the best deli sandwiches I've ever had. Amazing food & sandwiches! I've gone here for lunch for over a year and each time the customer service is amazing and the team makes you feel welcome. I've gotten a bit more adventurous with the food I get. Instead of sticking to the usual George's special I've changed it up and tried more sandwiches and soups. My regret is not changing it up sooner to try everything. Today I tried the Headcheese sandwich which has a delicious kick to it. It paired nicely with the chicken and barley soup. Finally got to try a chicken Panini sandwich and it was way larger than I expected. Every bit of it was cooked really well and flavorful. George's how do I love thee, let me count the ways. And now imagine me counting like The Count from Sesame Street Ok, so I don't live very near George's but ever since I discovered this deli that is also a portal to another past time and space, namely the Europe of my childhood and also Old Seattle, which I miss, I try to go here whenever I am nearby and remember :) When I walk into the small, but cozily-crammed-to-the-rafters with groovy stuff, the first thing that hits me is the reminiscent smell of the German butcher shop of my youth. After that it's usually deciding what items from the bountiful menu I want on my family's sandwiches to go; then it's considering a big container of delicious scratch soup (last one I got was mushroom) and then forgetting that they have frozen pierogies to take home. Next time. To finish off the visit I will select a jar or two of picked from among maybe 5 or more different choices (I get the ones that have the cute doily thing attached to the lid (I think they are their faves) and then pick out a few bags of different flavors of cookies and some interesting candies/chocolates, either from my youth or new to me. Last one I got was marzipan. It's so far never a cheap visit, but my bag of goodies lasts a good amount of time and makes us all very happy until the next time I make it in. Oh, and my favorite deli sandwich to get is the liverwurst on rye with everything but mayo and the special polish cheese whose name I forget, but never the flavor. With all the changes this city is going through I hope George's stays around for a good long time. It's a grounding presence in the neighborhood and in my life. I loved this place. I sought it out, wanting authentic Polish food. My first impression , was the genuine and slightly snarky service. I was slightly put off by the attitude, but found they do care.They genuinely wanted their customers to have to have a great experience. I could be reading too much into this impression, but people from my Eastern European background show their love through food. It is why I seek these places out. Not so much the food, but I want to feel the love extended through food. I love the interactions and care shown through the food offerings. So coming here is a more complicated interaction than let's say McDonald's. I'm looking for love through food. And I have to say they deliver. Great homemade soups. Incredible sandwiches. Food that is really good and tastes of caring. Soup is always good, especially anything with mushrooms. My mother loved liverwrust sandwiches. A unique sandwich, that I love here. Tuna and sauerkraut Mely is another sandwich my mother loved. So nice to be able to order it here and reminisce my childhood culinary memories. Alone because Tiffany is so cute that it makes waiting for food so pleasant that you feel at home even though you are standing middle in the store lol We ordered pierogi with cheese and potatoes which in my opinion was even better than my mom's ups and pastrami sandwich soooooo delicious! Not amazing, but not bad. All food is to-go and they have a little store inside of imported polish/european products though which was nice. Had this one on my list for a while to try due to high recommendations. I was finally was in the area because I had to be with someone at the hospital nearby, so it was nice that it was a close walk for a quick healthy to-go lunch. Great, friendly, and on-time service for my build-your-own sandwich that I pre-ordered online. There were lots of veggies in my liverwurst & corned beef sandwich, which I appreciated because I love my veggies, but there was one thick slice of liverwurst (I would've preferred this sliced thinner and better spread out in my sandwich because it was too heavy for some bites and nonexistent in some other bites) and it felt like barely any corned beef (I barely noticed it). I also would've preferred a warm sandwich on that cold Seattle day, but that wasn't an option unless it was a set uncustomizable option the menu. Also disappointed in their rye bread - maybe it's their standard, but I've always had rye that is really fragrant and darker colored, whereas this one was light and had no flavor at all (which was weird to me because even rye at Subway has flavor, so this is my first time with rye like this). Overall, I would come again in a pinch but there seems to be other intriguing options in the area to try as well if I'm already going to pay $12 for a sandwich. I will try again at least once though since I was also eyeing their reuben and pierogies, and saw they have pąckzis on weekends. Will give an updated review once that's been tried. read more

The front area is pretty small, so with just a few people it's a bit crammed.
