Chicken Pesto (comes with fries but asked for them on the side)
    Mahika A.

I've heard such good things about this place, so I had to come check it out. Came here for lunch on a Friday & I really enjoyed this cafe. Their fries and pesto aioli are top tier. I could eat it for a whole meal. Their sandwiches were also really good. My friend who was visiting got the chicken pesto and said it was amazing. Also said it was his favorite place in Seattle so far! Guess we'll have to visit every time he comes now. The woman at the register was super sweet. We order at the front and they bring the food to you. I ran out of sauce for my fries, so they gave me more which was very nice. Their carrot cake was also delicious.

I used to order from Byrek pretty consistently during the pandemic but stopped as their chicken pesto Baguette sandwich either had just the right amount of pesto or had too much where it was just an oily mess. Recently tried it again and it was okay. Still a shame they don't include the fries with the sandwiches, given the cost. Their plain French toast was delicious, and well cooked. I'd recommend their breakfast options (French toast and breakfast sandwiches). If you are coming in for lunch, try to place a order (either by calling or through one of the delivery apps) as it can be pretty busy.

We walked a long way to get here and ended up over ordering because all of the food on people's tables looked so good. We were glad we did. Everything was not only well plated and presented but delicious. The bacon breakfast sandwich had thick bacon, fresh spinach, and eggs as big as the slices of bread. The "Swedish" pancakes are the best I've had with caramelized apples you could tell were freshly made. Cappuccino was properly made and tasty. The pistachio baklava was great paired with the coffee. There are a variety of table layouts so whether you come with a group, your significant other, or alone you have a nice place to sit amongst the art of the walls. We also got a leek burek (or byrek) to go as we were excited to try it but didn't have anymore room left. This restaurant also serves wine, beer, and mimosas (alcoholic and nonalcoholic).

Ordered this other days and it was pretty good. It is a Ham and Egg breakfast sandwich. But one thing I would change is how the eggs should be cooked. Scrambled would work better for this sandwich.

Nice grilled baguette with aioli, pickles, red onion, lettuce, baked turkey, tomato and provolone. The beet and citrus salad is like a $3 up-charge or so and worth it instead of fries

Very tasty sandwiches! The pricing was a bit unexpected ($16+) but they were very fresh and on a Demi baguette. The matcha was ok though it wasn't super well mixed as there were quite a few clumps of matcha on the bottom. The server was helpful and it was a chill and well lit space to eat if you prefer to dine in.

Service was very good, workers were so sweet! Food was yummy and I got an iced mocha which was good too.

We had a wonderful breakfast here this morning. I love a cafe with real dishes and utensils. And when the service and food are great, then it's definitely a win. Spicy omelet for him, Mediterranean omelet for me. We both thought the ingredients, flavor, and preparation were great. The toast was yummy. He liked the potatoes that came with the omelets. I'm not a huge potato fan and still ate some. We split a byrek, which was good. I had tea, and he had fresh squeezed orange juice.

Located in downtown Cap Hill. Came here for some food and to work for a bit. Chicken Pesto Sandwich ($11.90) - I thought this was sort of bready and dry but the flavors were nice and it was well assembled. Leek & Feta Byrek ($6.25) - Nice flakey filo dough with a good amount of filling. Savoury and flavorful. There were desserts in the case that looked excellent. There was also an insane swarm of flies inside which kind of killed the vibe.

I have loved this cafe since 2017. I would always order delivery when I worked downtown and would rave about their fresh salads, delicious sandwiches and fries. I finally had the chance to go in person and the owner was so friendly and I ordered my usual: the chickens and goat cheese salad, side of fries. The aioli that comes with the fries is INSANELY good. It's so flavorful. You can tell everything is made fresh! The way they cooked their grill chicken is top tier, so thinly sliced and cooked through that makes it enjoyable and pairs nicely with the other salad ingredients. Glad this place is still around after Covid, it's my absolute favorite and everyone should try! Their menu is pretty big!

Ambiance is awesome! Lots of people so make your reservations like us. We ordered a shared appetizer - pita bread and all 6 kinds of toppings hummus, tzatziki, and all they offer. Each one of us had an entree ranging from lamb burger, chicken, mushroom and lamb kebabs - all so good. It was so tender and tasty. Enough to fill us. Love it! So good! Kebabs were served on a hot plate. Nice presentation. Service was outstanding. Good attentive service .

This is a lively place, always filled with a lot of upscale looking customers. So the atmosphere is quite loud, but fun in a buzzing way. We were seated quickly, as we had reservations. Our server Charlie, was engaging, friendly and on top of things. We ordered the shared dips---olive tapenade, eggplant, hummus, tatziki with some warm pita triangles. They're all good and a fun way to start the dinner. We each had kebabs---lamb, chicken and mushroom. All good, moist and tender all poured with a jig of ouzo on a hot skillet. The onions in the bottom get browned and crusty, so good to eat. One had a lamb burger which looked juicy and served with delicious mound of fries sprinkled with rosemary. Food here has always been awesome. Skipped dessert as we had homemade cookies to eat at our next stop.

Highly recommend the three dip (current seasons is beet and it's my fav) with the flat bread. The flat bread comes out steaming. Trumpet mushroom is Smokey and juicy. However after we expressed that we didn't want to wait that long, we were told that if we wanted outdoor seating they could actually seat us in less than half an hour. We chose the outdoor seating option and took a quick stroll in the quiet neighborhood before coming back. Our server told us that Homer's plates are meant to be family style and shared so their general recommendation is 1 large plate or 2 small plates per person. For us, we ordered the Set of top 3 spreads, lamb ragu on tahini and we were served with 5 pieces of warm pita. We also ordered Grilled Pork with Stinging nettles, raw albacore tuna with taramasalata, and smoked and shaved kohlrabi. Our server warned us that the pork was going to be on the fatty side but we were still surprised by how fatty it was. The spreads for the pita were amazing as usual-- their seasonal flavors taste amazingly fresh. Our table wanted to order more pita and when someone came by to take the empty plate they asked if we wanted more which we did let them know but even by the time we finished all the plates, we never got the additional pita so we just took it off. The Kohlrabi was an amazingly refreshing palette cleanser before the pork-- super light and refreshing. After we finished our meal we grabbed some soft serve from the window and wow, for 7$ it's quite a lot of ice cream! The flavors that were offered when we were there was Dark Chocolate and Kettlekorn. I sampled the swirl and the fusion of the saltiness of the kettle korn, the slight bitter and sweetness of the dark chocolate was immaculate. Final thoughts: very cool experience, inside I could see the open kitchen and the stone wood fired oven and the ingredients tasted amazing. However it is a little inconvenient that it's walk in unless you're a party of 6 since the lines and wait can get incredibly long. It's also difficult to find parking in the area. Very neat experience!

This…read morewas exciting to me as I enjoy food from the Middle Eastern part of the world, and the entrees do look very enticing! We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.
