Delicious and made with love! If you have a craving for authentic Mediterranean food this is the best to bring home for dinner. Fantastic falafels and dolmades, best in the neighborhood and family who runs this together have such friendly service! Great place to take home a delicious meal for the family and they cater too! My partner and I brought home a falafel platter, a gyro platter, and hummus. Generous portions, gorgeous presentation, and so delicious you can't go wrong with George's for dinner!

There is a decent amount of Mediterranean restaurants here in Seattle that I have tried, and I'm sure you can go to any of them and get a decently sized meal that tastes good, but I'm here to say that thus far, Gorgeous George's is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle so far. We went to this restaurant around 7PM on a Saturday, and at first, the restaurant didn't look open for business. But George's wife spotted us checking the restaurant hours and welcomed us in! She mentioned that they had a huge catering order today and were closed due to catering so much. At first, she mentioned that take out orders would be OK, but then evolved into allowing for us to dine in! We were so grateful to even be allowed service given how busy and exhausted they were, so they definitely when above and beyond in terms of service. As other reviewers have mentioned, Gorgeous George feels like you are dining in a family's house, very cozy and everyone is so friendly, and of course, the food was freaking amazing! We ordered a couple of things, which I'll review down below: Babaghanouje ($11): Absolutely delicious! Amazing smokey flavor and a subtle tartness from the eggplant/lemon. Pleasing texture that is a blend of creamy and slightly fibrous that leaves you wanting more. Great with pita bread and toothsome on it's own too. One of the better babahanoujes that I have tried. Gorgeous George's Platter ($35): Wow! This is quite the treat - if you are feeling hungry, definitely give this platter a go. Everything from the kababs, rice, and a small hint of toum on the inside was delicious! The chicken was tender, and even reheating it a day later, it kept it's moisture, which is really difficult to do! Rice was soft and everything was cooked perfectly. Seasoning was great, you can taste the complex marination and aromatics like parsley and onion with every piece of meat! Baklava ($8): A very solid baklava, and generous with portioning too. Flakey and cripsy crust and a generous helping of chopped nuts with a good amount of syrup soaked in throughout. One of the better baklavas I've had here in Seattle. In addition to these things we ordered, they also included a lamb kabob, two drinks, and a hummus free of charge (assuming they wanted to clean out the kitchen for the day) - which they really didn't have to do! We were so stunned by the hospitality demonstrated by George and his wife that we left a really hefty tip in order to show our gratitude. My experience here at Gorgeous George's was so amazing - everything from the stellar service, scrumptious food, and cozy ambiance makes this one of the best restaurant experiences that I have had here in Seattle thus far. I would wholeheartedly recommend Gorgeous George's as it is definitely the type of restaurant that deserves everyone's business!

Our Lebanese friend swears this place is the best for Mediterranean food in all of Seattle! AND we 100% agree. The owners are the sweetest family and really loaded up each of our to-go boxes. The place is takeout only, so be prepared to have tons of goodies to take home with you. We ordered a couple dishes for a small dinner party but honestly had enough to eat for the rest of the week. We really enjoyed all of the lamb dishes and the pita was so fluffy and fresh! The garlic sauce or Toum was delicious on everything and a must try. Definitely will continue supporting this local business!!

Absolutely amazing flavors and huge portions. My favorites are the baba ganoush (so delectably creamy and slightly smoky) and the shish touk (grilled chicken and garlic sauce). If you don't know what to order, try the combo. The prices seem higher than normal at first glance but don't worry: the portions are big (two people can split an entree plus a side) and the food tastes much better than similar places around. Note: It's take-out only. Also the owner-operator of this restaurant is very kind!

Wow. That's honestly the only thing my partner and I could say back and forth as we dined on what's undoubtedly the best Mediterranean food in the neighborhood and (...don't tell my beloved Zaina) perhaps in Seattle?! Wow! We got a smorgasbord of different appetizers, because let's be honest they're the best things on the menu. The roasted cauliflower zahara and the dip was incredible. Nice and tangy and nutty sesame tahini. The stuffed grape leaves were so incredibly flavorful and again that dip. Whew! Loved the lemon that came with it and ended up putting a bit on everything. Their pita is great and thick, and boy of boy I could eat their spreads all day. The hummus is thick and rich and covered with excellent olive oil. And my favorite, the baba ganoush. Can never get enough. I make my own... And George's is amazing! Smoky, spiced and seasoned. Perfect The spinach pies were great, too. Crispy and comes with excellent olives, pickles and feta. And to top it all off...that baklava. Wow. Beautiful burnt honey, giving it a complex rich sweetness that wasn't as one-note as some can be. Pistachio! So good And I can't leave a review without mentioning how absolutely sweet their service is. Very considerate and kind. We'll definitely be back! Thank you!!

This is a lively place, always filled with a lot of upscale looking customers. So the atmosphere is quite loud, but fun in a buzzing way. We were seated quickly, as we had reservations. Our server Charlie, was engaging, friendly and on top of things. We ordered the shared dips---olive tapenade, eggplant, hummus, tatziki with some warm pita triangles. They're all good and a fun way to start the dinner. We each had kebabs---lamb, chicken and mushroom. All good, moist and tender all poured with a jig of ouzo on a hot skillet. The onions in the bottom get browned and crusty, so good to eat. One had a lamb burger which looked juicy and served with delicious mound of fries sprinkled with rosemary. Food here has always been awesome. Skipped dessert as we had homemade cookies to eat at our next stop.

However after we expressed that we didn't want to wait that long, we were told that if we wanted outdoor seating they could actually seat us in less than half an hour. We chose the outdoor seating option and took a quick stroll in the quiet neighborhood before coming back. Our server told us that Homer's plates are meant to be family style and shared so their general recommendation is 1 large plate or 2 small plates per person. For us, we ordered the Set of top 3 spreads, lamb ragu on tahini and we were served with 5 pieces of warm pita. We also ordered Grilled Pork with Stinging nettles, raw albacore tuna with taramasalata, and smoked and shaved kohlrabi. Our server warned us that the pork was going to be on the fatty side but we were still surprised by how fatty it was. The spreads for the pita were amazing as usual-- their seasonal flavors taste amazingly fresh. Our table wanted to order more pita and when someone came by to take the empty plate they asked if we wanted more which we did let them know but even by the time we finished all the plates, we never got the additional pita so we just took it off. The Kohlrabi was an amazingly refreshing palette cleanser before the pork-- super light and refreshing. After we finished our meal we grabbed some soft serve from the window and wow, for 7$ it's quite a lot of ice cream! The flavors that were offered when we were there was Dark Chocolate and Kettlekorn. I sampled the swirl and the fusion of the saltiness of the kettle korn, the slight bitter and sweetness of the dark chocolate was immaculate. Final thoughts: very cool experience, inside I could see the open kitchen and the stone wood fired oven and the ingredients tasted amazing. However it is a little inconvenient that it's walk in unless you're a party of 6 since the lines and wait can get incredibly long. It's also difficult to find parking in the area. Very neat experience!

This…read morewas exciting to me as I enjoy food from the Middle Eastern part of the world, and the entrees do look very enticing! We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

The batinjan (eggplant) and labneh wrap here has now taken its place in my pantheon of best…read moreeggplant bites I've ever had. Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.
