So glad we finally got to try the food here!!! And hands down Mr Gyros gets a 5/5 for service, atmosphere, and of course the taste and presentation of the food! This cafe resto is super cozy and gives off Mediterranean vibes. I love that there was some Arabic music softly playing in the background. Everything is in the details. Being middle eastern, I'm always on the lookout for authentic flavors that remind me of home, and Mr. Gyros definitely hit the spot for me. Honestly what a great menu! From the halloumi zaatar sandwich, to the cauliflower, pistachio French toast with rose water, iced tea...Everything tasted so good. The gyro was sooo flavorful and tender. Loved it!! The plate portions are generous and filling. I love that you get a bit of everything on the plate too (hummus/mutabal , greek salad, meat/chicken, rice, tzatziki sauce, pita bread). There are only 2 parking spots right near the resto, so perhaps park in the street over and come on down. Bottom line: you NEED to try this place!! Check out the photos. Warning: you might start feeling hungry.

Quaint, clean space with beautiful music and vibe. Sweet service and extremely knowledgeable with menu. Unfortunately they don't serve their French toast or other decadent desert type items after brunch- post 2pm on Sunday. The food however, was tasty and clean! Good clean ingredients and beautiful presentation. We would definitely return if we were in the area. Cheers to yummy finds Yelpers! Xx

How I heard of this place: More than a decade ago, we moved to the neighborhood, where Mr. Gyros was a community staple. Months later, while sleeping, we heard - and felt - a huge explosion. Before we could make Mr. Gyros a neighborhood favorite, it was gone. Here we are, ten years later, and their newest cafe-restaurant is back. Type of cuisine: Mediterranean fare in a cozy, quaint, Mediterranean inspired setting. Ambiance: A sweet space tucked away for really only locals to walk up to (only one or two parking spots are available at the establishment, others needing to find street parking (or paid off-street parking around the block) blocks away, fighting for one of few spaces not already taken by residents). The walled-in patio greets patrons with its stone and patio umbrellas, cute and truly niche in this neighborhood eatery. Inside the rounded archway, one finds the kitchen, a seat or two at small tables, looking more decorative than functional, among the beautifully curated walls of plants and minimalist Mediterranean setting. Music blasts - making it loud (maybe too loud?) for residential neighbors, and adds to the sweetness of the cozy setting. What I ordered: We placed our orders at the tall walk-up counter, then found a covered table in the outdoor patio where we could enjoy the waning warmth of the setting sun at dinnertime. In our small party, we enjoyed the Greek Fries ($4.09), Cauliflower tahini salad ($7.99), Chicken Tawook "kabob" ($11.39) and Chicken Shawarma ($17.39), as well as an order of Baklava to round out our meals. What I loved: I loved the flavorful, well seasoned/marinated chicken. The salad was crisp and the hummus creamy. We especially enjoyed the crispy-soft fries with Greek seasoning atop. Why I loved it: It's fun to have a place in the neighborhood that can transport you to your favorite Mediterranean cities - reminiscent of spots in Eilat, Haifa, Athens... The food is good and it's great to see Mr. Gyro's back! Cost: High

Best spot for gyros in Seattle! The food is always fresh and the portions are generous. You can tell the owners really care. The baklava is delicious!

Just discovered that Mr Gyros now has fresh Juices!! I have been looking for an alternative to a coffee shop when needing to get out of the house to work a bit because i dont want to order coffee drinks in the afternoon. This would be a great place to work and drink healthy juices and get some greens!

My partner and a friend of ours visited this place last year and I haven't stopped talking about the Baklava Pancakes since. brought some other friends over with us this time and it's still just as good! the service is awesome, the family is so kind and inviting, and the food is stellar. We got two orders of shakshuka, my pancakes, a French toast and a Mediterranean breakfast. And lots of Turkish coffee. We love this place.

Mr Gyros is located on Phinney Ave and it can be difficult to find parking as you're fighting for parking amongst numerous apartment complexes. The restaurant is in a relatively small place with a handful of tables in the outdoor patio and a few inside where it can get cramped. Everything looks new and service is great - staff are super friendly. I will note that their brunch items which are available everyday end at 11am (at least for weekdays) which isn't what's on the website or menu board. Overall the plates are good. The gyro were thick and some pieces crispy while the beef kabob had good flavor and pieces of onion inside. The pita bread is really thing which I haven't seen before. Overall, a good spot.

Very cozy and nice atmosphere. The interior and exterior of the restaurant looks very modern and clean. The pita Gyro was delicious and had a nice spicy kick to it. Full of flavor and I definitely plan to come back.

    Sweet, shaded patio

This Mr Gyros is a neighborhood treasure. It is the perfect place for a hungry weekend brunch on a lovely shaded patio. Sammy, the owner, manager and kitchen maestro, warmly welcomed me like an honored guest to his home. The lamb/beef gyro was perfect; lively with bright tzatziki sauce and lemony hummus; wrapped in a warm soft/ lightly charred pita; bursting with crisp cucumber and lettuce and luscious red-ripe tomatoes. This is real gyro; not the fast food, salty-desiccated jerky and wet, under-ripe vegetables that so often claims the name. Here, everything was zesty and clean; filling, satisfying, and light. The meal chased away my mental cobwebs and the warmth of the lovely staff had me ready to face the day with a smile. Sitting on the patio, chatting with neighbors and new acquaintances reminded me of my days in beautiful Beirut in better times. I had to go back for lunch to treat my family with gorgeous falafel sandwiches, chicken gyros, and savory lentil soup. It smelled so good that I stole bites and sips of the delicious stuff at every red light; and enjoyed my hero's (gyros?) welcome from my health obsessed (thankfully) mostly vegetarian daughter and the their friends. Don't miss the lentil soup. Don't let the word vegetable scare you. This soup shows what vegetables can be when well-treated. With both meals, I had the baklava and Arabic coffee. The coffee is the real-deal- elevating and rich. The baklava is made in -house, don't miss it. It has the real, nutty sweetness of pistachios and lightness of crackly layers of light dough, it is not cloyingly sweet, overly-dense, or sticky. The best thing if all is the staff. The staff embody Sammy's hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail. From the carefully crushed fresh mint in the tea to the layer of thick coffee at the bottom of the cup, the staff show they care. The restaurant is sparkling clean, warm, comfortable, and inviting. Don't be dissuaded if there is a little wait at the door or the register; or if you must park 1/2 a block or so away. Enjoy the walk, enjoy the day, and enjoy this place that is clearly a favorite of locals who know where to truly eat.

What a hidden gem this was! A bit back from the main stretch, this Mediterranean goodness has a cozy but modern vibe with small indoor and outdoor seating. The food was fresh and flavorful, the staff was kind. Definitely will be back.

Good place to get a quick Mediterranean food. Food came out in a couple minutes. Friendly service. The water was horrible though, the water was salty. Anyways pita bread was thin but everything else was good.

Mr. Gyros never misses! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The staff are genuinely kind and welcoming, and you can tell the owners truly care about their customers and their food. It's rare to find a place that feels this warm and consistent every time. Highly recommend!

got the Notorious PIG sandwich and the Buttermilk Biscuit while I was here…read more Starting with the sandwich, there were a ton of things to love about this The very first thing I noticed was how all-time crispy the pork belly was. Interestingly, the meat came in two separate pieces, arranges somewhat like an X or a cross in the middle of the sandwich. This certainly wasn't the eating experience of a typical sandwich with a circular meat patty, and I appreciate the creativity here. The meat was insanely crunchy, oily, and quite plentiful. Each bite felt a bit like you were biting into a crunchy churro, but without the sweetness. I did think the outside of the pork did overpower the inside, though, as I didn't taste the meat or the fat inside much, and due to the amount of breading the pieces ended up being a bit chewy The bun was quite good as well - it was pretty soft, fluffy, and served as a really good bookend to all the ingredients inside. I thought the lettuce and onions also were good. I don't know if I'm a fan of the jelly on the sandwich - but again, I do like the creativity. What did shine here was the aioli, however. In a lot of places, you don't really taste the aioli on a burger - but that flavor was ever-present on this sandwich, and it was really fantastic. The absolute best part of the meal, by far, though, was the biscuit I have to start with how huge this is. This is certainly not the size of a typical Southern-style buttermilk biscuit - rather this biscuit makes no apologies in its effort to stand out from the crowd. Absolutely nobody would mistake this for a traditional biscuit - on the contrary, I think on first glance most people would assume this isn't a biscuit at all. It's shaped more like a massive pastry. I hesitate to say that looks are deceiving, because it does look great, but its taste manages to elevate past that. This was SO good. The edges are baked perfectly - they're oily, crispy, crunchy, and perfectly flaky. All four sides provide an amazing base - like the walls of a fortress that surround the soft, tender interior of the biscuit. You can see the different layers from the outside as well. When it comes to the inside, there was so much to get through but every bite was heavenly. So much credit here goes to the honey butter - which when spread onto the biscuit, raises the taste level of the entire thing. I put so much honey butter on mine that I nearly finished the whole thing. When it came to the jam, it was good, but since it didn't combine great with the honey butter I mostly ended up just using the latter This place was expensive - around 16 dollars for the sandwich and 8 for the biscuit - however, I was quite full at the end

Lorenzo opened Paseo in 1994, where his popular Cuban roast pork sandwiches were regarded as among the best in the country. After years of local expansion, Paseo abruptly filed for bankruptcy in 2014. The brand was subsequently bought out by a local entrepreneur, but the sale did not include Paseo's secret recipes (the reboot attempted to reverse engineer the sandwiches with varying success). So, in 2015, Lorenzo's sons revived Paseo under a new name, Un Bien, armed with their father's original recipes. Nowadays, Un Bien is generally regarded as superior to Paseo, and you can grab their Caribbean sandos at one of the three locations across Seattle. You can't miss the pastel pink-and-teal palette of the original shack on an otherwise drab block of Ballard. As you approach the wooden window, you are greeted by the aroma of sauteed meats and veggies. Communal laquered wood benches are lined up underneath a covered pergola. Fifties hits ring respectfully around the kitchen. My partner and I visited for late weekday lunch, and we ordered immediately. We opted to focus on the signature pork shoulder, so we split the #1 Caribbean Roast and #2 The Press. Across both sandwiches, we were impressed by the tender pork, rich onions, lemon-forward aioli, and marinade-soaked baguette. The standard roast pork sandwich added on pickled jalapenos and crisp romaine, culminating in a dynamic flavor that accentuated the meat. Meanwhile, The Press featured tart banana peppers, smoked ham, and melty Swiss, amping up the sweet and savory flavors alike; we agreed that this extra-messy sandwich just edged out the standard version. Our order took just minutes to be prepared, and the bill just topped $30. Despite the fanfare, I still found myself surprised by just how satisfying Un Bien's sandwiches turned out to be. Across all the food I ate in Seattle, only these pork sandwiches would be worth a return visit, even if I had to venture out of my way.

When we asked for clarification because the restaurant was advertised as being open until 9:00 PM, staff confirmed they were open until then but said the seating area would close earlier anyway. After receiving our food, we were told not to sit down and were asked to leave the seating area altogether. The interaction felt abrupt and discourteous, especially given that we had arrived well before closing and had purchased food with the expectation that we could eat on-site. The food itself was average, but the poor customer service and inconsistent messaging about seating left a much stronger impression than the meal. There are other better places. Skip.

Mint with mustard is a combination I never would have guessed would work, but the sharpness complemented each other nicely. Red cabbage had a nice tang and the soft bun for the contrast of texture. The Steak Tartare Club: Steak tartare surprisingly mild, almost feels more like a BLT with a background of slight beefy squishy texture (but in a good way!).
