Great tasting coffee! I also love their egg tart. Super nice vibe with lots of seating. Great service, highly recommend it, would come back.

We stopped by early afternoon on a sunny Saturday for a late coffee so it was just us. I'm not even a motorcycle aficionado but the decor of the space is so well thought out! Tons of seating in two different areas. They have coffees in the morning and beer later in the day, as well as snacks for purchase and bites like empanadas, pastel de nata, sardines, and small sandwiches. Lots of board games to play as well, really awesome spot!

The brunch offerings were delicious and had perfect portion size. I had the huevos estrellados con jamon, and my husband had the steak and eggs. The salsa verde with the steak and eggs was particularly spectacular. Our server was prompt and attentive, and played some upbeat Spanish music to set the vibe on a rainy Seattle day. Great location on the corner of Market and Shilshole. Would love to come back for happy hour as their tapas menu sounded delicious as well.

First of all, shout out to my guy Nate who was a tremendous server. Not only does he have a strong name, but he helped a brother out who had a fly in his beer. Good guy. We had an idea of all of the dishes that we wanted to try, but he was the shepherd that steered us towards the star of the show - the halloumi. The crispy cheese is a fantastic bite on its own, but the salad and peppers that accompany it add such a perfect balance to this plate. It's almost like eating a mozzarella stick, but just with better cheese. Let me tell you about the shrimp though. These lil puppies are bathing in a garlic butter sauce that is begging to be sipped on like a fine wine. The bread is an ideal vessel for soaking up that sauce and creating an open faced shrimpy sando. During our journey through these tapas, we discovered that the best part of the experience is trying to get a piece of everything from multiple plates to create the perfect bite. Since all of them are so well-balanced, you can mix and match whatever you want to make your wildest dreams come true. This made the dinner infinitely more fun than your average night out. The beans were just kinda mid though. You can skip 'em. Would recommend for solid food and a great time in Ballard!

The service was also great, considering there were many people and only one server. The coffee was good and people were all making an effort to speak Spanish, which I very much appreciated. The tortilla de patata, was also fine. That was the good. Overall, the food, as simple as it was, was really, really dissapointing. First, they rely exclusively on a microwave and a toaster oven. This should probably mean they serve only a few premade pastries and maybe come fiambres and call it a day. But I did not realize this when I ordered churros con chocolate for the whole family. Instead of having freshly fried churros - the only way to serve these, and the only way you will ever have them in any cafeteria in Spain - they preheated some pre-baked abominations along with a schmear of cold fudge sauce in a saucer. For a place so infatuated with Spain to serve something so wholly inauthentic really surprised me. Is it that hard to make chocolate a la taza? Is it that hard to have a frier and serve up some fresh churros? That's what we thought we were getting.... The ensaladilla was also a poor imitation of a Spanish classic, with mostly mayo, hardly any tuna, and punctuated with a smattering of pale peas. Even the pan con tomate, jamón y queso was bad. I confess that I've never understood the Catalan tendency to grate tomato on bread for these montaditos, but Ole doesn't even do that. Eschewing this easy opportunity to use a fresh ingredient, they squeeze some cold tomato sauce on a slice of toast instead. Almost as bad, the jamon serrano they use is cold and presliced (meaning that the salt is brought to the surface of the meat), instead of room temperature like jamon needs to be, rendering it dry and hard instead of warm and tender. In short, Ole cuts corners at every turn, relying on premade dishes for nearly everything, a decidedly un Spanish approach to food. Seattle desperately needs an authentic little Spanish cafeteria where folks can get good, simple freshly made tapas made with love. This place doesn't even try. With all that being said, if you want a good coffee and to be surrounded by people who love the language, Ole offers this. And that's pretty good too..

Ordering is done at the counter, then you wait for a buzzer to grab your food, which made it feel more like a cafeteria or fast-food setup than a traditional restaurant. The food was okay, but heavily sauced and lacking the authentic Caribbean flavor I was hoping for. Being from the East Coast, I was really looking forward to some true Jamaican jerk chicken or flavorful oxtail, and unfortunately this missed the mark for me. The best comparison I can think of is making baby back ribs in the oven, pouring barbecue sauce on top, and calling them authentic BBQ ribs -- without the seasoning, smoke, or hours of preparation that make the real thing special. One big plus was the ample parking with generously sized spaces, which is definitely appreciated. Overall, probably not somewhere I'll become a frequent customer, but I could still see stopping in for a quick bite over McDonald's, Five Guys, or standard takeout Chinese food.

Located by the troubled part of Aurora Ave N, they are a nice refuge from the chaos often happening outside their doors further down the street. It seems this restaurant could add an outside grill and drinks and there would be an incredible party. The staff seem to tone down the current atmosphere. Would love to have a grilled meat, arepas and drink cerebration. Just feel the staff are holding back on meat and drink party time. Or, it is just my wistful thinking about what happens when they close. First,I ordered the Guacamole and chips. Ooh, guacamole was freshly made to order and so good. I inhaled this. Found this fresh and delicious. Probably not South American, but I have no clue. Ordered some Arapeas, these were nicely filled with different meats and cheese. Like Mexican restaurants if you can make a good taco, a lot of the other food is worthwhile. I got it to go and when I got to eat I basically had to deconstruct it so I pick out the bad parts. I ordered a chicharon con queso papusa. I really know chicharrones well and regularly buy them from small carnicerias and Philippine delis and though the style is somewhat different from place to place I know what is good and not. This was a bunch of fat gristle mostly with a weird cheese consistency. My first clue in this horribly dangerous neighborhood was the outside but I didn't trust my gut. Instead I punished it! I'm not sure if El Patio is named after the big outdoor area in front that is right on the worst part of Aurora with hookers and homeless but it's a horribly run down building. That doesn't always deter me if the food is good. I also felt like they don't like white people or perhaps the attitude from the lady was just because I got a small order to go?? I've noticed now that their reviews going back to say 8 years ago show generally good reviews and pictures of outside that show brightly painted patio type seating and umbrellas and a clean exterior. Fast forward to now and the place is a dump that shows that they don't care. I truly felt that in their service and food and many more recent reviews say the same. I call this "alternatives to traditional Mexican food" and there are so many other great choices for that in our area!
