Ordered Petra Bistro through DoorDash based off of the Yelp reviews and was very disappointed. I ordered the mezza appetizer platter with pita. The pita was definitely not made in house- tasted and looked like cheap, store bought. The falafel were dry and tasteless while the dolmas had a very odd spice flavor that was overwhelming. They were also VERY tiny from why I am used to in a dolma. The hummus had a strange taste and really, the only tasty item was the labneh which is basically just yogurt. Even their kalamata olives had an odd and overwhelming spice flavor to them that I did not enjoy. I can't understand the high ratings on this place as I was not impressed and would not order or recommend. read more

Petra was on my regular rotation of lunch spots when I worked downtown. I'm a huge soup fan and their lentil soup is perfection. It tastes homey and comforting in just the best way. So, when I recently needed a spot to host a table of 10 where one person in our party needed soft food, Petra came to mind. Petra is a standout for all the reasons many recent dining experiences elsewhere recently have fallen flat. First of all, everything was delicious. We had a very mixed group including vegans, gf eaters, big appetites, and folks trying not to over indulge. Everyone found something up their alley on the menu. The mezza platters were generous portions of smokey baba, smooth hummus, and a good variety of veggies, plus plenty of warm, soft Pita. The entrees and salads were fresh and abundant. Entrees are served on a generous portion of lemon rice and come with a cup of soup that's larger than what passes for a bowl at many restaurants these days. I think everyone took leftovers home. Don't sleep on their N/A beverage options. The Tamer Hindi (tamarind/rose drink) and Coconut Lemonade were both a big hit for our group. What a great place! I was craving something light and delicious, and found this place on Yelp. I ordered the cauliflower and the soup, it was delicious. All dishes looked good, and that are made with fresh ingredients. The soup was great, it tasted very aromatic with fresh herbs. It's not fancy, but the owner did a nice job bringing in the theme. (Petra is in Jordan. The ending of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was filmed there.) Anyway, the food was flavorful. The portions were decent and the prices were fair. The dinners we ordered came with lentil soup, which you swap for a salad for an additional $2. I went to Petra Bistro in January 2025 before a reggae show at the crocodile because I was in the mood for Mediterranean food and used yelp to find this place. I had a table for one and I ordered the salmon kebab and fries and I wasn't expecting much because I was really just hungry. The salmon kebab blew me away, the seasoning on the salmon was out of this world, I usually get chicken kebab because I rarely see seafood on the menus at other Mediterranean places, and I love salmon, they also have shrimp kebabs, you can also get a combo of salmon and shrimp if you prefer. I Immediately noticed the warm lighting and the curtains along the windows, and just like that, natural instinct kicked in, and I knew I had to give this place a shot. I got the Mezze tray and found that this alone was the perfect amount of food for one (hungry) person. Combined with the Shawarma entree, I had food to last through the rest of my work trip, so I know my company appreciated these portions, for the sake of the stipend. Everything was delicious. When I asked for a to-go box, I recall the server taking a hard look at all the food left on my table and getting the same feeling I get when I'm having dinner at my aunt's and I didn't finish all the food on my plate. Got the Taste of Africa dish for take out, and it was ready so fast. The website said it would take 30-40 minutes but it was ready in like 15. When we got there, mg first thought was "wow we should dine in sometime" the interior is very ornate and well thought through. Seems like a great dinner destination. What a special place. We discovered Petra Bistro searching for a healthier dinner choice when we visited family in Seattle. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and great for dinner with friends and family. Although we had to take our food to a friend's place blocks away, Khal (owner) treated us to an appetizer and gifted us special spices when he discovered how much we enjoyed Mediterranean food. We encouraged him to franchise his wonderful restaurant in Hawaii. I came here on a Wednesday night and the place was almost completely empty to my surprise. The interior was a bit dark, but otherwise decorated super uniquely. The waiter was quite friendly, but was a little hard to understand due to his accent. I'll give them a pass though since their food was absolutely delicious! I got the Garlic Lemon Chicken with a side of Lentil Soup, and a Mango Lassi to drink, which was more than enough for me to eat due to the large portion sizes! First off, the lentil soup was really tasty, perfectly seasoned and very creamy! The soup had a nice creamy texture with little chunks of soft vegetables scattered throughout. My entree, the Garlic Lemon Chicken, was plated pretty nicely and had a ton of flavor. The star of this dish was easily the sauce drizzled on top. While on their own, the chicken was a bit dry and the rice was good but not phenomenal, the sauce drizzled on top gave each bite an explosion of flavor. It had a sour, creamy, salty flavor reminiscent of a lemony alfredo sauce which really just made each bite a pleasure to eat. Finally, the mango lassi was also super enjoyable to drink. It was a bit on the sweet side for my tastes, but this didn't pose a problem as long as I didn't drink too much of it at a time. Quite nicely done! read more

Served with Two warm Pita." This was really good. My preference was for the baba Ghanouje and Dolmathes. Also had the prerequisite Middle Eastern lentil soup. An enjoyable lentil soup, however not special. Next this sounded delicious to me. PETRA ROYAL (OWNER'S FAVORITE) Tender Chicken Breast charbroiled with a Veggie Kabob and Zahra (Fried Cauliflower) Topped with sautéed garlic, onions and tomatoes seasoned with our house Mediterranean spices. Served over a bed of rice, topped with sautéed Pine nuts, Almonds, and Garlic sauce. $26.95. This was really good, however more a vegetable dish than a chicken one. You will pay close to 30.00 for little chicken and lots of vegetables. Seemed overpriced to me for what I got. Overall, not bad but underwhelming for the food and price I paid. For 100.00 for lunch, I want my taste buds ideally to be tantalized. Or at least tickled. Unfortunately, I could go to a number of Middle Eastern restaurants and find food much beyond this caliber. Wow. This restaurant is the perfect choice for Mediterranean food, especially if you are staying anywhere near the Space Needle or Climate Pledge Arena. Ordered the "famous lentil soup," and it was FANTASTIC. Seriously the most delicious lentil soup I've ever eaten. So much so that my husband and I went to their website and ordered multiple pre-made packages that they sell online. I ordered the OUZI entrée with lamb and it was seriously scrumptious. My husband had the Petra chicken entrée. The chicken was very tender and not dry. Friendly staff comfortable setting. My co-workers and I (6 total) came here on a Friday evening to do an after-work hang out. The restaurant is big and has many seatings (I saw a big group of people (12) sitting in the back). We ordered Mezza Tray -a combination of hummus, yogurt, falafel, cucumber, tomatoes, and olives. The olives are very salty, despite that, the dish is amazing with the pita bread. Falafel is crispy. Ouzi with lamb meat - super delicious! the Tzatziki sauce over the rice was on point! Combo Kabob - it came with all the meat options (kafta, lamb, chicken) and the veggie kabob are super yummy. The servers are friendly but the service was a little slow, I need to walk to find my servers a couple of times - but it's the holiday season, and I saw they had many take-out orders, so they must be busy. I was here few months ago for dinner and my review was long due. Super nice staff, awesome Mediterranean food and nice ambience makes this a good dinner place. The appetizer platter I ordered was so so good. Especially the dips and spreads. Hummus,baba ghanoush and the tzatziki were creamy and full of flavor. My 2 year old was engaged by their decor and lighting which allowed us to have a peaceful dinner. My biggest ask is their bar menu, which can be expanded.
