    GHORME SABZI #1 plate
    Jim N.

Do not walk by without trying the food here. This place is a gem within Pike Market. One of my favorite meals on this trip. It's a family owned restaurant and mom does most of the cooking. The family is very friendly and welcoming. FESENIOON #2 plate has a sweet sauce made of pomegranate with walnuts. The taste is out of this world while the walnuts offer a little crunchy texture to the dish. Sauce is so good with rice. GHORME SABZI #1 plate is just as good, the dried limes flavoring is splendid and served with rice as well. So happy I stopped by for a meal.

A hidden shop in Pike's Place. They recommended the Chicken Kebab but it was dryer than the Sahara. Complete 180 on the Lamb Burger, it was juicy and delicious #goodeats would come back for just the lamb burger. Service is quick and they bring you the food. You have to buss your own stuff. All good here. The restaurant is in a hidden alley on pikes place. Surprising amount of space for being on the inside corner. We beat the rush but even if we hadn't, there's plenty of space to sit. A hidden shop in the pike place market! It's next to Rachel's ginger beer and pike place chowder. It looks like a food court, have two small tables in the open area and 5-6 bar seatings. I ordered kotlet sandwiches. We waited for 15 minutes and got our food. The food is a lot better than I thought!!! The portion is big, and the bread for the sandwiches was served warm and tasted so good! Definitely give this place a try :)

Cozy Persian restaurant tucked away inside Pike Place Market. I ordered the lamb kebab plate (about $15) and it was delicious! The salad had a nice citrus twist, the rice was seasoned to perfection, and the lamb was well made. The service is a little slow since it's a small shop, but I definitely would come here again!

Amazing all around. I ordered the chicken (joojeh) kabob and the beef (koobideh) kabob with grilled tomato and it was amazing. So affordable too. Authentic and delicious. And the service was quick for being made to order. I can't wait until the next time i go to the market to get more. Highly recommend to anyone who like persian food or wants to try something new! 10/10

First time trying Persian/Iranian foods, and it was absolutely amazing and blew our minds. Definitely a hidden gem at Pike Place Market (located next to Rachel's Ginger Beer and in very close proximity to Pike Place Chowder) that I highly, highly recommend checking out! They do have tables for dine-in, but food was served in to-go containers and everything was very casual. Quick service as well! My boyfriend and I ordered the ghorme sabzi plate to share. It was unbelievably aromatic due to the parsley, cilantro, spinach, leeks, and dried lime and the beef stew was so soft and savory. Served with saffron basmati rice and YUMMM, it was such a flavorful bite. We gobbled it up very quickly and wanted to order more to bring back to our hotel, but they were already starting to clean up and close. Definitely recommend this place and I am, for sure, coming back when I travel to Seattle again!

    - LAMB KABAB (marinated lamb kabab, served with basmati rice and salad) - GHORMEH SABZI (chopped and sautéed parsley, cilantro, spinach, leeks, flavored with dried lime. mixed with beef stew and red beans. served with saffron basmati rice) - VEGGIE PLATE (chopped and sautéed parsley, cilantro, spinach, leeks, flavored with dried lime. mixed with tofu and red beans. served with saffron basmati rice) - KABAB SANDWICH (ground beef mixed with onion. served with tomato, onions, parsley, pickles, sumac and "farvahar" sauce) * 9/10 * Throughout our Canada trip, we've constantly had Asian food, which meant I was in NEED of Middle Eastern food. As it is my favorite cuisine (middle eastern, Greek, arabic), this Persian restaurant in Pike Place looked good. Ordering was easy peasy since I am bit of an expert of what to get at Middle Eastern restaurants. I always order lamb if it's on the menu, since it's my meat of choice, and these kababs were gooood. This Persian restaurant offered Ghormeh Sabzi. This herby beef stew is one of my favorite Persian dishes as it packs so much flavor from the dried lime. Dads order, the veggie stew, was the exact same as they ghormeh sabzi but the beef was tofu. The kabab sandwich was sour, salty, and just amazing. This was in a little corner, kinda tucked in and away from the main market so we were the only customers in this place. Overall every dish was tasty. ^@kamibites on Instagram

If you want a quick service with rice, something unique / different to eat, and seating, this is a spot! I came by to Pike market on a Saturday lunch time and it was so packed everywhere and I was starving and wanted soenthing quick to eat so I can explore this area. It hit the spot. Fast friendly service, reasonable price, good enough space to sit, and the food hit the spot. It is located further inside the building at the back. It is a bit warm in here at the back.

This place is such a hidden gem. This casual spot is somewhat hidden near Pile Place chowder but I definitely think it's worth a stop. I got the Fesenjoon Plate for takeout, which consisted of shredded chicken with sweet and sour pomegranate and crushed walnut sauce. It was very unique and unlike anything I have ever tasted. I got takeout from here and it was very quick and the portions are big and filling. My minor qualm is that the rice felt a bit oily to me but that's probably necessary to make it so delicious. I definitely would come back here and try all the other dishes.

One of my favorite "hidden gems" in the Market. They pack a ton of flavor into every bite with generous seasonings, and the price for the size of the portions really can't be beat around the Market.

Great food I also appreciate that they customize my food, no rice, no bread and asked me for what else I want to replace with. Delicious great attitude and great service. Keto friendly too

Nice hidden gem in Pike Place with friendly owners and good Persian food. They actually have more complicated traditional stews which is surprising for a small take out/ street food style place in Pike place because even some bigger Persian restaurants I've been to are just kabob shops with a "dish of the day" but they have a lot here. They also have adapted some dishes to a more Western pallet or a fusion if you will. I had a Khabob sandwich and it was pretty good. Was it as good as a charcoal grill at a high price fancy estaurant? Well no, but for the price and location, it was pretty good. The other people sitting next to me were pretty happy with the vegetarian dishes they had too so check them out.

A taste of home! My first time here and I felt welcomed by the proprietor. I had the kotlet sandwich (like a latke - ground beef mixed with potato & onion into a patty), which was heartily wrapped in a pita and stuffed with salad, yogurt, and dusted with sumac (pronounced "so-makh") for that little bit of tang. My wife enjoyed the fesenjoon plate (pomegranate / walnut stew with shredded chicken), which had the perfect balance of tart, sweet, and fat. What's impressive about the fesenjoon is no added oil, since the walnuts naturally release oil. I've had it from some restaurants where cooks will needlessly add oil, thus making it heavier than it should be. The basmati rice was well cooked too. We topped off our meal with hot tea, and look forward to returning to try other menu items.

After walking…read morearound to stretch our legs from the drive we ducked into Zeitoon Grill House for some Persian cuisine. Based on decor I wondered if it had been a pub or steakhouse once in its life: lots of paneled and coffered wood, chandeliers, and wooden booths with coat hangers. We started with the baba ghanouj and ordered the fesenjan and a beef kobideh for meals. The meals came with a salad to share rather than small individual salads on the plate which was a nice touch. The staff was able to provide some veggies with the baba ghanouj since my partner in crime can't have bread. The baba ghanouj was great - exactly the smoky eggplant flavor I was craving when I saw the sign for Persian cuisine. The kobideh was nice and tender - you could taste the onion. The fesenjan was also extremely good. One question: Who eats this much rice in one dish? The rice was very good - but it is a lot of rice. I haven't had Persian like this since we had Persian neighbors who invited us over.

Zeitoon opened in downtown Kirkland many years ago, replacing the Central 21 Steakhouse. Much of…read morethe interior still has the original dark room steakhouse décor. The center area hosted a huge group with multiple tables pushed together. I have avoided Zeitoon all these years because they are higher cost, not necessarily justifiable since there are lower cost Persian foods or similar Mediterranean restaurants in the area. I finally decided to try them. Our server answered my questions, including his favorites. Two questionable/sketchy things happened: 1. Our server recommended the Mirza Ghasemi, which he said is great with the optional soft-boiled egg. Sounds good. We ordered it. The optional egg is $2, which is not identified on the menu. (See photo) 2. When he recommended the Mirza Ghasemi, we asked him to remove the Mast O Khiar which we initially chose. I said we only want one appetizer. He nodded and said OK. When the Mirza Ghasemi arrived, so did the Mast O Khiar. They put both on the table and immediately left. I flagged the original server to remind him we said to remove it, but a different person showed up instead. He: "You want to cancel this? No problem." and took the yogurt away. I did not order this; it is not me canceling. Minus 0.5 stars from overall rating. The Food: Mirza Ghasemi + egg, $14 +$2 - 2.5 Stars This eggplant dish is the one recommended by our server. We do enjoy eggplant dips, especially warm versions. The optional "soft boiled egg" is not an American version but tiny threads of yellow egg bits mixed within the eggplant mixture. Honestly, we cannot taste the egg. It is borderline a scam. This dish would be 3.5 stars if it was $14 at the menu price, which is already on the high side. A $16 eggplant dish is delusional. Lamb Shishlik Kebab, $36 - 3.5 Stars Menu: Lamb rack marinated and chargrilled (see menu photo) I knew I would not see a rack of lamb on my plate. I got four lamb chops. Meat quality wise, this is excellent. It comes with a ton of basmati rice and a salad with a refreshing light dressing. This is a bit spendy for the quantity of meat, but taste is good. Soltani Shishlik, $42 - 3.5 Stars This is the exact same dish as above except add a skewer of grounded beef kebab. This kebab, and I quote my hubby, is "not that good". Same comment for the rest of the dish. A basket of lavash bread arrived at the table. I believe it came with the Mirza Ghasemi. We have eaten many lavash breads, commonly used as wrap so it is grilled and/or heat-pressed with oil on the surface. These lavash breads are simply warmed. I learned they taste terrible that way. The surface has a sandpaper texture and still taste like sandpaper when eating it. If I paid for this separately, I would be upset.

This was my first time trying Afghan food so I was excited to see what the cuisine offers. We got the combination kebab for 2 (2 red meats - lamb and beef, $100) which is basically a full set course menu and a fish qorma as another entree as there was 3 of us. The combination kebab is definitely more than enough food for 2, as the 3 of us shared that plus one entree and we were all stuffed. Ash - traditional noodle soup with kidney beans and chickpeas. I like the salty and slightly tangy aspect of the soup and it definitely whet my appetite for what is to come. Badenjan Borani - eggplant. I don't like eggplant but found the taste of this to be delicious. It is a bit on the mushier side for my liking though Fish qorma - fish was cooked nicely in a tomato based sauce Seekh kebab - beef. I didn't really like this one as much since the meat was tough but the flavor was great. Bara kebab - lamb. I love this one as it was juicier and more flavorful Kabuli palaw - the rice dish that comes with the kebab. I love this - it's like jeweled rice from Iranian and Persian cuisine, which offers carbs and a bit of sweetness to it. Pairs excellently with the dishes Firni - cardamom, pistachio, rosewater pudding. Classic Afghan dessert. Quite sweet but refreshing at the same time. Love it Dogh - an interesting salty drink made with yogurt, fresh mint, and salt. It felt like I was drinking sauce but more palatable. Service is good as dishes were taken out in good cadence and food came out at a decent pace.
