This is one fantastic restaurant! The space is large, clean, and the staff are very friendly. The food is absolutely amazing and delicious bite after bite. Started with Dolmeh which I have never had warm. It was Fantastic! Opted in for the Kings Feast with salad instead of rice. It was plenty to share and the flank steak was juicy and tender, the chicken was flavorful and not dry, and the kubadwa was well seasoned. The baklava was a perfect dessert to wrap up the meal. I Rating: 2 out of 5 I'd almost give this place a three, but there were a few major issues. When we first walked in, the smell was overwhelming -- almost like a septic tank. It lingered throughout the whole restaurant, and I'm honestly surprised anyone could sit through it. There were only two other tables filled, which probably explains why business seemed slow. On the positive side, the food itself was decent. The kebab khobideh was easily the best thing we tried -- it came out hot and tasted freshly made. We ordered several other dishes, but most of them were lukewarm, like they'd been sitting out for a while. I was pleasantly surprised to see tahdig on the menu -- they gave us a generous portion for only $12, which was a nice touch. Service was very good; our server was attentive, kind, and genuinely cared about our experience. Unfortunately, the aesthetics of the restaurant left a lot to be desired. The bathroom and walls looked run-down, and overall it didn't feel very clean or inviting -- definitely not a good spot for a date night. If you're craving Persian food and don't mind a rougher atmosphere, they do have a nice selection, and the ghormeh sabzi was good. But overall, this place needs some serious attention to cleanliness and upkeep before I'd consider coming back. We walked at. 200 dollar bill. A friend treated me here for my birthday as he recommended this place himself. This is a Persian restaurant that's in the University District, and there's plenty of street parking around. Since it was around 12pm on a Friday, my friend and I were the only ones inside and got seated quickly. I loved how our servers were very prompt with bringing the dishes out, including appetizers and water. The inside has many big tables, and feels somewhat fancy with the chairs, tables and glass cups around. My friend and I got the tahdig with gheimeh and the lamb rack. The tahdig is crispy rice along with meat, peas and cheese on top. It was really hard to chew on the crispy rice but it was tasty and savory and complimented the rest of the dishes very well as an appetizer. The lamb rack is pretty huge; there were five pieces of bone-in lamb chops and each one had a TON of flavor and meat packed into it. Most of the plate is basmati rice with saffron, however. The lamb rack was definitely my favorite part of the whole meal, and I'm down to try other things on their menu when I come back here. read more

Starting out our short stay in Seattle and we're off to a smashing start. A fantabulous introduction to Persian food in the Pacific Northwest. The grill is very elegant and spacious, yet, it's relaxed and comfy. They also have an age weathered wooden floor that helps set the ambiance. Even thou I like a little more garlic in mine, this was just dandy. People in our party raved about the chicken tenderloins and something called Koobideh. I knew I had to come here when multiple people from Iran had recommended it to me. And I was not disappointed! Before we got our food, they gave us some bread, butter, basil, and raw onion. The kashk-e-bademjan was so light and appetizing! Even if you don't normally like eggplant, give it a chance, it might change your mind! The tadig is a must, the fesenjan had a sweet and sour flavor from the pomegranate but it really worked! The vaziri was nice because we got to try two kinds of kebabs, both of which were seasoned and cooked perfectly! They were way to bite into, not too tough. The portion sizes are generous, this was plenty for 3 adults! The service staff were also very kind, always checking in on us! Food came pretty quickly too. TLDR: We got takeout and not only were we not impressed by the food (which is a first for us), but I think I got sick from it. I wish I had a better experience but I would not order from here again nor recommend. Food: I had the eggplant meal - the dolmeh were good and the salad seemed fine, but the eggplant sauce I put on the rice was not only stone cold, but did not have hardly any eggplant or flavor in it. It felt like I could have been pasta sauce on rice and I didn't even finish it. I got sick within 24 hours and that was the only new or unfamiliar thing I had eaten. My partner got the chicken skewers and liked those but he was very disappointed in the Koobideh Kabob Dish with Zereshk Polo. He didn't finish his either, which is rare for both of us. He also had the baklava which he described as "eh" and felt was too small a portion for the price. I would not ever order from here again. How I heard of this place: Back in the day, this same spot was home to Caspian, another Persian restuarant. Now, Persepolis Grill, we were reintroduced to the location by a few friends who share large gatherings, family meals and meals shared with large groups of friends. Type of cuisine: Persian kabob, chicken and beef, as well as various stew-like toppings for rice, with pleasant sides including Mediterranean salads and yogurts. Ambiance: A small, unassuming view from the street outside, set a few blocks away from the bustling University District restaurants and shops, Persepolis Grill is quite expansive and very warm once inside. Dim lighting, vibrant walls, linens gracing the tables and mumblings of conversation rising above the light music keeping the ambiance friendly and welcoming. What I ordered: As per my usual, on this visit, I ordered the kabob koobideh. I also have enjoyed the joojeh (chicken) kabob on numerous visits and can barely decide between the two which I prefer. What I loved: The plentiful portions of gloriously grilled kabobs, rice aplenty and sides of fresh onion and herbs to accompany the meal.
